We had a brilliant night here, but it smelled absolutely revolting inside - like the rugby changing room back in the school days. Very sweaty. Music was good tho... Lots of bangers!! And really friendly crowd/atmosphere.

Stopped in for a rum and coke. Great vibes, very chilled out. Reminds me of old school metal pubs from London. Would have loved to stay longer. X

Great beer, visited on Saturday then Monday, the street seating on the Saturday really enhanced the 'vibe'. They do a food offering that's 100%vegan (we didn't get to try this on our visit). Would definitely revisit when in the area again

I was in Brighton for a few days on a Business trip and visited the Tap on the first night. Lets just say I encouraged the fact that the rest of my meetings/casual drinks should be held here. The staff were all fantastic on both nights I visited & they really make you feel at home (and I was 7 hours away from mine). I feel like I want to move to Brighton after my short but wonderful trip. The drinks are also great and there's lots of variety. If you're in Brighton for a long holiday or a short trip, go here. The music is great, the atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are the cherry on top. 10/10 recommended.

Does 'Burger kult' offer the best burgers in Brighton? When considering the competition with the likes of 'Burger Bros.' it's certainly up there. What goes in their favour is the fantastic range and incredible quality also their chips are delicious on their own. The range of beer is great as well as the staff. Even though the beer is quite pricey the location and range makes up for it! A Brighton must!

One of the best burgers I've had in a while! Great chips! I love that the burger is not on a white brioche bun! Honestly one of the best burgers ever. My wife had a holly I chilli red pepper burger with tortilla chips inside. Think that was better than mine! They also have craft beers. I had a blueberry maple stout as pictured... Then had 2 more. Come here!

Came on a Monday lunchtime and it was quiet but welcoming. Vegan burger was tasty and beer recommendation was bang on. Also extra credit to the bar person who was genuinely charming.

Manager lovely and the music/general vibe amazing! Just a shame about some of the bar staff who were sat near us having drinks after work. They were very patronising and demeaning when they told me to sit down after I was dancing. I understand I was in the wrong by getting out of my seat after a few drinks but they should’ve handled it better and more professionally. One of the girls with the blue hair was really personal and nasty and made our group feel unwelcome after that. I’ve worked in hospitality for many years and i understand that asking people who have had a drink to adhere to the rules is frustrating, but a bit of professionalism in the situation wouldn’t go amiss. The manager however was super kind when we left!

Came across this bar at 1:30 in the morning,. A really nice vibe. A good mix of people. They were playing good contemporary rock but not so loud that you have to shout. They also have a good selection of beer and the upstairs room is cool. They serve food but I didn't try it. The people who work there are really friendly and chilled out.

Very good place to go for drinks, but I'd avoid eating here. The food is whack. Seven of us ordered all sorts of stuff across the menu and no one finished their meal. Dry burgers, hot dog slathered in rubbery coagulated cheese, vegan mac and cheese was horrible, 'chips' were like poor Mcdonalds fries. Not cheap either at about £10 per main course. Staff are nice though!

Forced to shelter here due to a blinding migraine. The wine actually helped. Beautifully non touristy pub with exceptional management/staff...you can't fake being a nice person, and the staff here don't need to try. Huge range of beers, which is why they need THREE cellars (apparently).

Wonderful place. Great crowd of people, friendly security, one of which looks like a man straight out of the walking dead mixed with toy story vibes. The barstaff is friendly and serves quickly , even when the bar is busy. Downside is it is quite small so if it gets busy then there might not be space to sit, but standing is also good. Love the upstairs decor with pinball machines and prefer that space cause of the music being a bit quieter, allowing you to speak with friends.

Excellent place to stop and sink a few beers. Ate here twice on a weekend visit, had the sharing meat/cheese platter, and one of the double burgers the next day. Both really nice. There's a small outside terrace to sit and watch, and a larger outside area to the front of the pub, but not sure whether this is permanent, or because of the unusually scorching weather, coupled with the Quadrophenia 40th Anniversary/Mod Weekender. 4 real ales on tap, and a plethora of craft beers on tap.

I have no complaints about this place. But please be aware of the Maple Syrup beer. Some people say even a 1/3 of a pint is too much. I like the mix and match craft beer deal for £5. Nice staff, but small bathroom.

Great little pub selling own brew craft beers. Beelzebub vegan food is sold here too which is delicious. A little more on the pricey side but that's cos they sell such great craft beers. In a windy but central air of Brighton, perfect for nipping in from the beach or before heading out out.

We found this bar on a wet saturday afternoon. Playing chilled out 70's Soul music and feeling warm, this perked the day up again. Great selection of beers and although we didn't try, the food smelled beautiful. I had a great Vermont IPA from Tiny Rebel and the better half had a still Seacider, both equally tasty. Will definitely be going back, maybe to try the menu.

Always a great time here, it's not a very loud bar so perfect to come to if you're catching up with friends. There's also an upstairs section to here so there's a lot of seating overall. Drinks selection is actually pretty good as well. I'll definitely come back in future.

Very chilled place, modern with a live DJ playing punk/indie music although I just been told they do have rap nights. They tend to play it by ear. The bar has a long history in Brighton it was established in 1974. The red lighting and rustic feel of the bricks work really well together bringing a modern feel. The bar does have a student air to it. There an interesting choice of ales here which you wouldn't find elsewhere. I really like it here

In Brighton for the weekend, and after bar hopping on the first night to see what the city had to offer, decided this was the best of the best and spent the next two nights here. The bar staff is so lovely, every one of them. And the music is ACTUALLY GOOD (a fun change of pace) Mia and Joe totally rock as bartenders, if they’re there, you’ll have a fantastic night!

Love this pub, and the vegan burgers are amazing. BUT kitchen is always rammed with orders, and the customers are constantly told how busy everyone is and how many orders they have and you always feel like you're a bit of a nuisance. This has happened every time I have been here (3 or 4 recently).

As Brighton craft beer pubs go, this one is somewhat lacking. I went last week and they had a decent selection of IPAs on. Unfortunately, there wasn't that much aside from IPAs. No dark beers at all. Didn't try the food. I saw something called a Beelzeburger which sounded interesting. The decor is very neon.

Since becoming east street tap this pub has become a good deal uglier. The decor is rather unpleasant now and the bar is malodorous. I cannot comment on the food, not having eaten here, but I am impressed with the selection of beer. The toilets are rank and lacked toilet paper on my visit. Nice staff.

I like the place - last time I was in there there was one waitress in particular that was a bit rude - Told me she was serving someone else then turned around to have some shots with her mates. Only wanted an empty plastic cup. Good selection behind the bar though, and a decent environment.

Only had a beer and some chips. The stout ale was very deliciuos - from New York somewhere. The chips were fresh and really nice; served with sea salt. Staff came across as genuinely helpful and wanting to serve. Interior was a quirky combination of red neon lights and thick, large, rusty metal nets hanging from the ceiling. Cleanliness... Serving area looked clean but tables less so.
