Reviews of Hand In Hand
J. C.
A great small bar that is fantastic for beer lovers as they serve a large range of beers most of which they need themselves. We went a week before Christmas, and the bar man was being very strict on covid measures which worked for me, and we chatted happily about the beers.

Epic night at the Hand in Hand. Toad in the Hole is such a winner. The whole pub joined in on a herculean game. Good beers, good people, epic pub

Great little pub, very interesting and unique. A great place to meet with friends and chat. Their own brewed beers are amazing and a great selection. Amazing staff happy to help and recommend a beer for all tastes. Met the owners too who were warm friendly and very welcoming especially as our group weren't local. Attended the jazz night which was brilliant. Will definitely be drinking here again when I next visit.

Nice little pub, welcoming woman behind the bar, great recommendation and relaxing and warm atmosphere. The local cider they serve was a hit with me.
M. C.
Friendly pub with good locally brewed ale and Toad in the Hole.

Great little pub. Better if you're a local but welcoming anyway. Can't imagine how they've survived last year but still thriving! Nice staff always.

One of the most curious pubs in all of Brighton, if not the entire globe. Amazing beers and wonderful staff. If you're not too late you could get to play froggy

Visited The Hand In Hand one Father's Day just on the off-chance a couple of years ago, and absolutely glad that I had. A smashing little pub that oozes nothing but character, and the locals there were the friendliest I have ever come across in any pub. Turned out the young lady behind the bar was a former work-colleague who we got on very well. Obviously my Dad was with me and he found the pub a refreshing change. I also caught the news on Meridian Tonight about the mobile pub service The Hand in Hand are operating at the moment, a young friendly lady on a push-bike with a storage box designed and painted like the pub building, and thought it a kindly, truly inspirational thing to do in such a trying time for everyone. Cannot wait for lockdown to stop so I can visit The Hand in Hand again.

Great pub with loads of character, excellent selection of ales and stouts, good service and clean toilets. Highly recommended

Great little brew pub with a friendly welcome and a good range of home brewed, local and other beers. Sadly, due to Covid19 restrictions they only have limited outdoor seating but it was only a short wait for a table to be free. They really showed great customer service offering water for the dog and then when it started to rain, they offered umbrellas to customers to prevent them from getting wet. They even offered a detailed description of local ale bars just in case we needed to stop off and shelter on the way back to the train station. Unfortunately they were all closed on a Monday afternoon.
M. L.
Great beers and a brilliant game Calle Toad made the night. Thanks

The best pub with the best people! Would give it more stars if I could. Kemptown wouldn’t be the same without it.

Popped in there few weeks ago. On the grounds decent beer.
Not disappointed stayed there longer thsn planned

By far and away the best pub I've been to. Anyone and everyone should visit.

Lovely pub, Great beer and TOAD 🐸
D. M.
Amazing place, great atmosphere. Very very good spot to spend nice time with amazing staff knowing loads about their products 😁😘
M. H.
Lovely little pub, warm friendly welcome, interesting surroundings, good background music with a vibrant mix of conversation & laughter. Not a mobile phone in sight, 'bliss'. We both enjoyed the locally brewed ales & rounded things off with glass of sloe gin, delicious on a winters evening. Can't wait to be in the area again!

This pub has become my “local” even though there are plenty of decent ones nearer my flat. The welcome is consistently warm even when they are busy, the range of beers and other drinks is excellent and the decor and atmosphere are consistently inspiring.

Marvellously bonkers local bar with welcoming, sharp and witty locals, on-premises brewed beers and lagers and amiable, attentive service. Catch the nights when they put things on, the landlady really goes to town, being a real treat, with a return to old school pub values of revelry, larks and inclusive bonhomie. Not for nothing does it top many's Brighton's best pub list.

Best pub in Brighton. One of the few pubs nowadays that you feel completely at home in. Great staff, really welcoming and fun. Great locals too, feels welcoming every time not to mention the selection of homemade beers (on site) which taste great and are all under a £5, some under £4 too!
J. C.
Friendly and welcoming pub room with tasty array of microbrew beers.
E.
An absolutely stunning pub. One of (unfortunately) the few in Brighton where the beer that you're drinking is all brewed on site and every single one is worth trying.
A host of friendly regulars and brilliantly welcoming staff; the genuine kind, not the 'we smile because you're paying us' kind.
A group of people united by a love of community and a passion for great beer.
S. k.
It's an alright little pub they make all there own beer
k. v.
Great brew pub, with lovely selection of locally brewed ales. The landlady Jen and her team are brighton superstars! If you like lager have the hacker pschorr!!!

Stumbled across this place when exploring Kemptown on a quiet Monday evening. This is Brighton's smallest pub but it doesn't feel cramped. It was quiet when we where there but I imagine that when it is full you can't move an inch! Beer selection is excellent and some brewed on site. I went for the German pilsner which was delicious. Also try the hot pork pies!
D. D.
Great little pub, tonnes of character and local beer. Apparently there's pies to be had.
J. M.
Great drinks, very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and very nice acoustic live music played while we were there.

During our first week at university, some friends and I started a pub crawl in Kemptown. This was the 3rd pub we visited and we liked it so much that we abandoned the pub crawl and stayed there all night. It became, and remained our favourite pub from that day onwards. Excellent beer and a true pub atmosphere.
J. H.
Great pub, can't fault it. The staff make this place what it is. This lovely small pub has its own brewery out back and has beers and ales on tap brewed in the very place you are drinking them.
B. D.
I'd wager the smallest pub you'll go in today.
But proof positive, that good things do indeed come in small packages.*

Charming staff, great beer selection (guarantee there will be something you've not had before) and a cosy atmosphere.
Jazz on Sundays evenings, so if that's your thing, groovy, but you won't see me there then!
J. M.
Small outdoor space at moment. But great, friendly service and good beer. Nice.
S. P.
A very special pub with wonderful staff, friendly vibes and amazing ales, brewed on site. Music was perfect, full of local antiquities - a place to while away a Sunday with papers.

Hidden gem. If you're not from Brighton then this pub is the epitome of what Brighton is about. Live jazz every Friday. Their own craft ales and great service.
K. Þ.
Easily the best pub in Kemptown, and quite possibly in all of Brighton. Home brewed decent ales, lovely atmosphere and a great bunch of people to boot. 100% recommended
M. G.
Popped in for a couple of pints. Always great when a pub brews it's own delicious beers. Friendly locals and staff.
P. S.
My new favourite pub in Brighton, had a pint of the High Five, an oat beer, very nice. Cosy place with a lovely old fashioned pub atmosphere
