Reviews of Lord Nelson Inn
Went to the Ox Block launch party and the staff were welcoming and very attentive throughout. Food was excellent and well presented. Hope they add more smaller items to the lunch time menu for the local workers who are looking for a quick eat. Ie meat, fish or veg option in a sandwich as the main meals everyday is not financially or time viable for us who only have30mins for lunch. Once again great bar team led by a good manager.
Great selection of Harveys real ales. An interesting old interior that hasn't changed for quite a few years but makes it more interesting than other refurbished pubs.
We only stopped in for a drink and were glad we did!! Theadied serving were so friendly and the mulled wine before Christmas was delightful. Its a faulty smallish pub but its really cosy and has a proper pub feel to it!!
Very quiet on a Wednesday afternoon.
Seemed clean and organised.
Quick to get served.
Free WiFi code prominently placed on a chalkboard on entrance.
Pub quiz on a Tuesday evening as advertised at time of visit.
A pint of lime & soda was £1.80 which I do consider expensive.
Menu very lacking in vegan food with only one option 'Wild Mushroom Savoury Rolls with sweet chilli dip' marked vegan. None of the sides like chips are marked as vegan. This needs addressing, especially in Brighton!
Lovely traditional pub , freindly staff, lots of space and garden area, great standard of pub grub and veggie / vegan options are available, quiz night win cash prizes, my burger was a decent size but looked like it was from frozen even though menu states locally sourced ingredients. I have a chronic pain disease so Yeast Extract also MSG and Palm oil all ate found in frozen burgers and all inflame my disease, I didn't ask as it states locally sourced ingredients, I'll check next time, good value.
I had my retirement party there in December 21 the landlady Yvonne did a loverly buffet spread and plenty of it!
I’d highly recommend the nelson.
Popped in for pint. Lovely lady serving and i guess landlady was also there.
Lovely pub. I shall return soon
Ahhh, one of the pubs of Trafalgar Street that no matter what they do the place it still a great pub. It's much bigger than it used to be but hey, it's how the world is going if they are going to compete with the weatherspoons. Still a great pub.
Lovely pub, good food and friendly landlady!... A genuine pleasure going there!
