Really friendly , welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Great entertainment too. We'd never been before as we're not local but would definitely visit again if we're in Brighton. A real proper pub with a locals feeling.

Fantastic warm, welcoming and friendly pub. We were in Brighton for the weekend and visited two nights in a row. On the Saturday afternoon there was a gent in the piano and we joined in singing with the locals. We stayed on for the drag cabaret which was very fun and entertaining. We look forward to returning when we visit Brighton again!

Was very disappointed. I chose this place because I wanted to try somewhere new and their food on the website looked nice. When I phoned them, the guy hung up on me twice when I asked to make a table booking. On the third attempt he took it. Mentioned I am a Dine member and he accepted it. When I got to the pub I mentioned again that I was a Dine member, the woman behind the bar said they weren't accepting it anymore. Why didn't the guy tell me that on the phone?! When I went to order I realised that on Wednesdays they only serve pizza, doesn't say that on the website and it's not particularly what I wanted to eat buy got it as I was already there. The pizza came warm, not hot like it should be. Why can't they serve a hot pizza? The only good thing I found about this place was the woman who served me. She was lovely and friendly. I didn't catch her name unfortunately. Overall very disappointed.

The Regency Tavern is our favourite place to go for Sunday Roast in Brighton. My old time favourite was the lamb shank, which is not on their menu anymore. I am very sad about it, but I found my new favourite, which is their pork belly. We love the atmosphere, the attentiveness and friendliness of staff members, the music, and absolutely everything. The fact that they take tastecard makes it even better! What a gem! Please never change, as we absolutely love you and praise you to everyone we meet locally, who is after the best roast in town.

Great night out! We were looking for somewhere to drink and happened to pass by, we are so so glad we went in!!! Sharon behind the bar was welcoming and friendly from the get go, plus all the regulars who left us be but at the same time made us feel like part of the furniture. It happened to be quiz night hosted by Ross (which we won 🏆 😆) also very welcoming and friendly. Overall it was an amazing night we'll never forget, it was full of fun, laughter and meeting new faces I felt I'd known for years. All us of intend to return and fully recommend it if you want a traditional English pub without the usual awkwardness of being new. 5 stars all the way!! Thank you regency tavern 🍺

Myself and my partner found probably the most welcoming pub in Brighton. Your immediately made to feel at ease by the great staff. With different entertainments offered every night. We particularly enjoyed the singer Jamie, what a voice and even though we only finished 3rd the quiz on a Wednesday was great fun. Wish we had a venue like this back in Wales but 100% sure we,ll be back soon. Thanks again to all the staff + clients for such a lovely welcome

Although the staff were very friendly this place is quite worn down and dated. The beers weren't that cold and the glasses were dirty at the top which put me off drinking my beer. The wine was undrinkable, when my friend cant finish her wine then you know its bad. I know a lot of locals go here so I feel bad rating it so low but not my cup of tea.

A lovely pub that just never changes and doesn't need to. We were first through the door looking to have lunch. We were greeted by a big welcome from the barman. We asked were we to early for lunch, no he replied and explained that it was pies on the menu. Great Christmas choice and they were delicious. They come with chips or mash. Peas or another choice. Great service and helpful staff. The barman (maybe the proprietor) was excellent and the place slowly started to fill up. He asked if we needed anything and came to check it was all okay, it was!!! Happy to recommend and will be going back as it's just a nice friendly pleasant place to go.

My recently most favourite pub. Nice selection of beer and ales . Venue consists of two slightly different sections and a live music scene. One end is well lit and spacious good for a meal or just if you really want to see what you're drinking ( nah :D ) and the other end is a bit darker, more cosy. Watch out for the boss lady , very chatty always in a good mood,. Venue feels very nice and friendly I'm defo coming back.

I had the worlds best Steak and Stilton pie with chips and gravy!!! The chips and gravy were freaking delicious and the pie was outstanding! Also, they had some students entertaining us with West end and Broadway hits! It was just great 👌🏾

Seen this pub go through many managers in the last 20 years, but think the most recent to be the best yet. I was staying in Brighton for a few weeks and frequented this pub quite regularly. I found the staff to be extremely friendly, have built up a load of very interesting and friendly locals. I even found a punter who was visiting Brighton and would always go check this place out when he came down. An excellent selection of beers. I will always try to check this place out whenever I am back in the city.

This place is the cozy 'old man' pub that the gay scene in Brighton needs! Yeah all of Brighton is inclusive, but not everyone wants to club it up! This place is chilled out but glam, has acts on and loud music at the right times and has awesome staff, head in if you are in the area!

Large Shepherd Neame pub just a couple of minutes walk away from the shopping centre. Landlord and staff all very friendly and helpful with a broad selection of ales etc on tap and in bottles. LGBTQ Friendly, with drag acts on weekly. Lovely pub.

I am not rating the Regency as I am one of the bar staff who work there. I noticed 2 recent reviews, one saying the staff were 'tired' and rude and another saying we don't serve tea/coffee. I am very sad and sorry to hear that a customer found our hospitality lacking as we pride ourselves on being welcoming and friendly to anyone who comes through the door. And tea and coffee? We serve every type of coffee from Americano to Cappuccino though we did run out if decaf recently. And tea? We serve traditional, Earl Grey and English Breakfast though we do not currently stock herbal varieties.

Understated opulence may sound self contradictory, but that's what we found at the Regency Tavern. Tons of interesting bits and bobs adorn this welcoming pub, including a suitably out of tune mini-grand piano where anyone is welcome to tinkle the ivories (thus the tuning!). I inhaled a scrumptious Spitfire Ale, while my brother refreshed himself with an on tap lager, while enjoying the bonhomie and graciousness of our host's establishment. So if you are looking for the charm of a traditional English pub, the warmth of a local, and the accessibility of a watering hole right in the center of Brighton (in the top right corner of Regency Square it's a stone's throw from the Brighton i360), and great beer of course -- you couldn't really do much better than the Regency Tavern. And just in case you're wondering, no one is paying for this review!

Stumbled in to this place while we was in brighton on a stag do unknowing what the place was like . And we had a surprise to see a drag act onstage but it turned out to be a good few drinks while we was in there. Managed to get a table for 9 of us . Price was very reasonable and had a nice selection of drinks to choose from.would recommend to people just for the atmosphere and the friendly staff we met 👍
