Great roast. Lovely atmosphere early sunday night. Roasts served until 9pm! We did not book. Friendly service. The roast was divine. Great vegan options

Great decor. I hadn't been since it's been redone again. And it's beautiful. A great space to be in. Lovely atmosphere. Dogs allowed. We had mostly g&t and they had a great selection. We didn't have the food so can't comment. Toilets were ok. A little drab compared to the pub itself. Great beer. Nice shots to choose from. Went as two couples. Will definitely return.

From the outside it looks a bit tired. Once inside the decor is brilliant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The music is good. The food is delicious, my only issue being how massive the portions are. We were however offered take away boxes for our leftovers.

Food was fantastic, great portions, good price. The 'gravy' was a bit overwhelming however. Also, vegan dishes come without Yorkshire puddings. This was not explained to us and nothing was offered as an alternative. To me, this is unfair.

Had a really lovely time tonight. Initially just went in for a drink but stayed for a couple. They were short staffed and busy but the staff were lovely especially a young girl with brown hair in buns. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We even got a table to have our dinner there, a halloumi burger and a beef burger, which were amazing. Had a great night, would highly recommend

Beautiful pub. Can't comment on the alcohol because was making the swiftest possible exit from a dodgy internet date. Really have to commend the girl behind the bar who clocked how uncomfortable I was and made sure I was alright. It means so much to women when staff are alert to this sort of thing. While the staff are very friendly, the quality of food isn’t exceptional. The vegetarian and vegan options that were had on a recent visit were bland and served on small wooden cutting boards. The Salted Seitan Bretzel Bap (£8.50) was especially odd, with cold slippery cuttings of what I suppose was seitan, but tasted more like lightly-seasoned sponge. The Halloumi Dog was less bad, though still didn’t cut if for the price (£8.00 including grass clippings on the side and a generous pinch of cold slaw). The interior has clearly been refurbished recently, and though the plush booths are swanky, the patrons relegated to the shabby backless stools across from them have my sympathies.

I spent 7 month in Brighton in 1976 and at least 3 times a week I was at Seven Star with my friends. Awesome place , food, music and above all, girls. I see some changes in layout but memories last forever.

Great food and beer selection, if you wish to eat I'd recommend going before 6pm as it can get very busy in here and finding a table can be tricky. The place had a cool look, mixing old school pub with modern touches. Also has theme food nights, macaroni Monday and chicken Wednesday.

Good range of food, not extensive but different enough for genuine choice. My hallumi hot dog was good but had weird chewy things on top, chips and salad great, boyfriend had sausage and mash which could have done with some veg. Not enough to stop me from returning for more food. Would have stayed longer for drinks but DJ came on at 9:15 and we could no longer talk. Hey, must be my age, Thursday night meals out are for talking. Nice place, gorgeous decoration, reasonably priced.

One of the most stylish and original pubs in Brighton (not far from the seafront), the Seven Stars offers a more than decent variety of ales, plus the usual selection of national and international lagers. What makes the Seven Stars special is the highly original décor and the spacious indoor seating area - this is truly a place to linger and while away a lazy afternoon. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful, too. One of the best traditional pubs (with a bar vibe) in Brighton. Recommended.

I've found this place years ago when I wandered in streets of Brighton Sunday afternoon and they had live jazz band on. Food is good, enjoyable, Well, as my brother said that not as good as mine, but I'm chef with lots experience in London, so fair play. I always enjoyed it. Every time I'm in Brighton I'll be there for pint or some gin and it never disappoints. Tonight (27.05.21) you had amazing staff, that I don't know their names, but they were the best so far, very attentive and helpful. Thanks for all the poured drinks and kindness. One of the stand out city centre pubs. Has a really good choice of beers, lagers etc. Good selection of wines and spirits. Food is really good and competitively priced for its location. The decor is really nice, cosy feel to the place and a really good atmosphere. Staff have always been polite and helpful.

The roasts here are insanely good. Best roast I have had out. Have a look at my photo it was absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly. A superb portion size. Avoid for dessert. The dessert let it down for our meal of 11 people. We had several brownie and ice cream served with no spoons and no staff to bring us any, so the ice cream all melted. The others who had all also pre-ordered apple crumbles, 2 had arrived but we had to wait for the other 3 which took around another 20-25 minutes to finally arrive. When they did they were presented completely differently with a shared hot custard pot between 3. The first 2 crumbles had individual cold custard.

A Friendly, rustic approach to the modern dining experience The staff are on par with some 5 star restaurant constantly making sure that you are happy and pleased with your orders. An abundent array of spirits and wines to choose from and the food always comes as you would expect, fantastically. I for one enjoyed my time here, and would definately make this one of my brighton go- to's.

This place is awesome! Good drinks on tap, and the live jazz music was brilliant when we dropped in on Saturday night. Super lively, everyone enjoying or involving themselves, people swing dancing on the tiny square of a dance floor. It's a pretty heartwarming atmosphere! Go here!

Great place right in the heart of Brighton. Menu is all about comfort food so don't go here looking for a light meal or salad, think mac and cheese or a dirty burger. Bar selection is good too, they do a great selection of beers and gins. Nice and comfortable in the front room and they also have some family friendly (during the day) booths out the back, good for people with toddlers.

Good place this. Lots of good beer to choose from. Even more gin and tonics (the watermelon one was sensational). Had a burger here as well which was good. Gets busier on Friday/Saturday night. Only reason for the four stars is the lack of seating, which I can only put down to a poor use of space. Big place, hardly any seats.

If you like Gin then the drinks here are fantastic, with a very wide selection of spirits and mixers available. They do plenty of other drinks too, although they are typically slightly worse value. To top it off overall it is well priced and the bar staff are all knowledgeable too. Food is very good. Only criticism is the music is usually too loud, meaning you struggle to converse with people sat near you, which is surely half the point of this type of place?

Great vibe, great drinks - I wasn't sure what I wanted but didn't want the usual prosecco wine or bog standard mixer, fancied a cocktail which they didn't unfortunately do however the barmaid was great and she recommended one of their infused gin and tonics. I had raspberry and it was absolutely fantastic. My only regret is that we didn't go back in after we went for dinner!

I love the layout and decor of this pub. It's got an art deco feel to it. There's a nice cocktail menu and variety of foods. It's a great central location in town too.

Lovely pub. They tend to play a really nice mix of music and the atmosphere is very mellow during the week when it's not particularly busy. They have a range of whiskey, scotch and gin and different brands of mixers e.g. Fever Tree and Schweppes both available. Staff are friendly and the pub uses the "Ask for Angela" scheme to help people stay safe which is brilliant--posters in the toilets advertising this. Used to have amazing American-style food which seems to have gone which is why I've knocked a star off, but haven't tried new menu yet.

One of the best, if not the best Pubs in Brighton. Great selection of beers. Including Staropramen from tank. Also good and not too expensive selection of decent wines and spirits. The food is awesome, super tasty Street food. Cons- can get very, VERY hot there, the music is sometimes unnecessarily too loud. It's a pub, not a club and it's Wednesday late afternoon, so it's hard to talk and hear each other. Bit it's not always like that. Love the art deco ceiling.

How can I put it...love it here, especially on a Sunday. Pop in have a drink, listen to some scatt jazz, sing along and have a dance if you want. Last time in there was open mike and this lovely old lady of 90 sang a fabulous song, but the main singer does fantastic scat. Excellent place to eat, drink and enjoy yourself.

Mixed review for this one. On our first visit here we ordered drinks and food. Sat down and waited and waited and waited for our food. Only to be told after going back to the bar that our food had'nt even been put through to the kitchen. Quite dissapointing first impression but a few months later we went back when it was less busy and the food was delicious! And the drinks too! Just a shame we didn't get ours the first time.

Great food from Coulissant D, and good craft beer selection in a grand old building. The prices are the one thing letting it down. £6 a pint of beer is probably the highest you'll pay in Brighton and Hove, but then you are bang in the middle of the touristy Lanes so to be expected.

Gin theme is a prominent feature of this joint, often fanned for its Sunday roast. Usually pretty busy over the weekend, book a table of you want to eat. Booths at the rear of the place are prioritised for groups of six or more, so you may be asked to move!
