Great place with a lovely atmosphere and warm welcome. Decor is lovely and a massive improvement since the refurbishment and name change. Great selection of beer and the pizza smelled fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and great fun. Thanks Guys we'll be back very soon.

I went here in connection with the Brighton Fringe and saw two shows. The venue itself is eclectic and friendly, decent selection of beer and lots of vegan options if you are into that. Not huge though and a bit cramped. Never the less, I'm a fan and would definitely go again.

Very welcoming. The sun is streaming through the bay window where I am sitting reading and drinking coffee, so comfortable, absolute bliss. Purchased this bottle of beer to drink in November.......I'm on 'sober October. Keep smiling 🙂🌈🙂🌈

This was such a lovely place! We wandered in on an open mic night and looked for a place to sit! It was busy but not overcrowded. The other customers were all having a wonderful time and so were we. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the bar was easy to get too as people weren't sat around it. Gender neutral toilets were also a lovely extra and the crazy artwork on the walls was super interesting to look at 😊

Absolutely love it here. Great hospitality, lovely regulars and a good range of beers on tap. Inexpensive pints and bottles. One of the only pubs in the area with a pool table. I've not eaten here myself, but I'm told from various sources that the vegan food here is excellent, including their Sunday Roasts. Very central. You can see the Pavilion just across the road from the outdoor seated / smoking area. Various acts in the upstairs room throughout the year which are worth checking out. Well worth a visit, even if just passing through.

The Marlborough is mere meters from my university building, and I'm sure I will always remember walking straight out of seminars and into the pub. 'The Marly', as it is known, is a really beautiful and radically inclusive space with a real focus on being a safe space for LGBTQ+ people. This pub has free pool table and 10% off for students, it has also dodged the trap that some pubs in Brighton have fallen into, of becoming too gimmicky or hipster, it's got more of a 'real pub' atmosphere. The only improvement could be having some local ales for under £4 a pint, as some other pubs in Brighton offer. I've not been to the theatre but everything being advertised always looks super interesting. Love this place 🍺🍺

Best queer spot on the planet and I've been to San Francisco! Everything about this place rocks. Gender neutral toilets, free pool table, cool stuff on the walls, odd bits of furniture dotted about the place. Great for a noisy night out with a few close friends and also good for a more chilled out evening on the other side of the bar where there's a couple of big tables and various chairs and sofas. Overall an awesome place that's a must for anyone and everyone.

Stumbled upon this place on the way to somewhere else. Very much a gay theme so you homophobes better stay away. Nice selection of craft beer and the lady that served me was very polite and welcoming. There is a theatre upstairs but I didn't go in there. Pub itself is small and cosy. Definitely worth a visit as long as you can handle the theme.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Brighton! LGBTQ Friendly and has great events on in the theatre upstairs. However this place is not accessible to get into but it does have an accessible bathroom. There is a small ramp to get into the side entrance but it's not the most stable. It's a shame because this place is really great and stuff are really friendly!

Absolutely amazing - you get great delicious, with a wide range of drinks, and wonderful staff always happy to help - but the best part of this place isn't the food or the drinks...it's the clientele you get: diverse, eclectic, fun, and respectful of others. There's an atmosphere of reciprocal love and acceptance that will always have you coming back. The shows upstairs are a must if you're in town, even just for a night. Bookmark this place - this safe haven is a must-see, a must-visit, and a must-come back.

Best queer-oriented comfortable, friendly, dark, quiet bar/theatre for perfect atmosphere and a sense of immediate acceptance and safety for all LGBT+ people. Bar is split into a busy half and a quiet half, both are pleasant but the quiet half is essential for people who need space and get overwhelmed by too many people or too much noise. Dog friendly, good range of drinks, lively every evening, with live music events, ticketed theatre performances upstairs and always something going on. Staff are friendly, helpful, never, ever patronising or inappropriate. That might not seem like much but just you try getting served at a bar while trans, it's not always easy.

Except for the fact there was no spit and sawdust, it's a proper pub! Atmosphere was cool and happy, clientele were friendly and happy, slap bang in the centre of Brighton just off Old Steine. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. We also watched the night's entertainment in the theatre upstairs which was thoroughly entertaining.

Delightfully quirky and friendly pub, had a good laugh with some friends playing pool, actually made the mistake of misgendering one of the staff (might have even been the Landlady) but she was kind enough to forgive me and brush it off, meets in the middle of a pub and a club because you can actually have a conversation, recommend it 😊

The Marlborough is my favourite place in Brighton. With everyone bemoaning how predictable and terrible the gay scene has gotten in town, this place is queer friendly, with smatterings of radicals, punks, hippies, weirdos, and even normal people (they let them in too). Oh and did I mention Girls Girls Girls? They've had a few new owners, and each time it actually just gets better and better. And the theatre upstairs is one of the most exciting venues in England, not just Brighton. See you there.

After several years in the wilderness The Marlborough is absolutely back in the game - it's a pub with a great history and as home to The Pink Fringe has become a really fantastic queer performance space. It's one of Brighton's oldest pubs and is really worth a nose - and definitely catch a show in the theatre.

This is mainly a gay bar. Very bohemian and stuff, with posters on the walls, in an old alley from which you can see the Pavilion. I was only inside for about 5 minutes so hard for me to be more specific.
