What can I say about the black horse an absolutely great place to go to. Firstly the landlord and all staff are fantastic they welcome you in with open arms. Friendly and always professional. Secondly the prices are amazing especially for Brighton. Weekdays an average pint is £2.80 weekends £3. Also other drinks are very cheap. On the entertainment factor they have most if not all sports live. Beer garden is spacious and even a tv outside. They also play great music of all sort of tunes. All in all if you are visiting Brighton or even live here its definitely a place worth checking out.

A lovely little pub, super cool music and very affordable prices. No matter what time or day of the week, for just one drink or many, when you go to Black Horse it is like if you're home with your best friends, the atmosphere is amazing especially when the owner starts singing behind the bar.. We love it. Definetely our favourite place to go anytime.

2004 was my last visit.The food was standard.Drinks werrr okay.2021.The turn around of the black horse is outstanding.The,quality of food and drink is not standard no more.it's 4 star awarding!I must say everything was reasonable priced.i love this place.Th staff are friendly.tyvm to all of the new staff

This isn't particularly the pub's fault, but just be mindful of the behaviour. I had a really unpleasant experience on a Saturday where old-aged men made me feel really uncomfortable. They then started shouting racial slurs which, by the way, were awful. I had to get up and leave. I don't blame the pub at all for this, I didn't say anything about how I was feeling I understand that. But they were shouting quite loudly when it came to racist comments and it really wasn't nice and shouldn't be tolerated. So again, I'm not saying it's the pub's fault, but if you do ever hear anything like this please kick them out.

What a great little pub in the midst of chaos of the Brighton lanes. The publican was very helpful and the tucker was good and reasonably priced

The first thing I would say is that the staff were lovely. The issue I had was I couldn't have steak and kidney pudding because they had no gravy. Come on all you need to do is have some gravy granules and boil a kettle!! Secondly the hot chocolate on the coffee machine wasn't working and they had very few real ales available.

This is a lovely old pub with a secret garden out back, my friend and I were staying overnight and went there after parking car in NCP and then on way back next day to collect the car for home trip! The barmaid was wonderful and really friendly as were some of the regulars. The downside is that the pub chain are thinking of turning this lovely old real ale pub into a sports bar in the future which I think will ruin the heritage of the building.

Full of friendly people, the Black Horse is an odd (and old) pub in the centre of Brighton. It's generally pretty quiet (as in no music) and the beer is cheaper than other pubs in the area.

Tribute on tap makes this pub brilliant for a smashing pint. Small inside but plenty of seating. Football played on screen but quietly. Dog friendly and food served, although I didn't eat there, eyeing up what was being brought out, it looked like pretty good 'pub grub'. Set just off the lanes, it's a great place to rest your feet during a day exploring Brighton. Like this review if it was helpful.

A nice little 'local', cosy & not as crowded as most of the surrounding pubs & you can get a wheelchair in there although that said, you can't access the toilets if you're in a wheelchair as there is rather a large step up to the bar & loo's...

The Black Horse is a wonderfully welcoming pub in the heart of Brighton’s ‘Cultural Quarter’ offering a great range of local ales, fine wines and excellent pub food all day long. Just two minutes walk from the Royal Pavilion and close to both the Lanes and North Laine shopping areas, the Black Horse is the perfect place for a refreshing break from a day sightseeing or retail therapy! With outside tables at the front of the pub offering a great opportunity for people watching and a truly wonderful ‘secret’ beer garden at the back offering an oasis of calm right in the heart of the city, the Black Horse is both dog-friendly and child-friendly and shows all major sporting events on two TV screens. The Black Horse is also a popular place for a pre-theatre supper and pre & post show drinks being located directly opposite the Brighton Dome and Corn Exchange and just a two minute walk to the Theatre Royal Brighton.
