Reviews of The Bugle Inn

I feel the sign found in this establishment says it better than me. I thank the landlord and the two lovely ladies last night. Not sure if the pub serves food but there was plenty of booze and nonesense available and I loved it. They must have done a good job as I'm still merry the afternoon after

Popped in there for a random drink on Thursday night what a Nice pub, Chilled environment and vibes! Georgia who was working was lovely too!.. Not sure what other whisky apart from Jack.d they have but will be back to find out!.

Well this is a great little traditional back street pub..it used to have an Irish theme going but is more varied now. I must say that I can't give it more than 4 stars as it does have a few little issues.
On the plus side it the old traditional pub that most people are looking for, the prices are average for the area. The bar staff are the key part and are always attentive and friendly.
On the negative is that it's a bit tired and could do with a refit. The wines are cheap and not worth trying but it does have a good selection of gins, WiFi that is intermittent. and so is the heating in the winter.
It can be quite some days but loud on the others. Overall, a pub worth visiting if you like the traditional style and are in the area.
Worth a visit: yes
Tuesday nights: cheap drinks and great live music.
But overall, tired and needs a good refit.

A great back street local. Little changed over the years. Popular with the local community and definitely not trendy which is a good thing for a pub that wants to be a traditional local. A minus is that it only serves instant coffee, does sell tea though which pleased one member of our group.

Great beer. Especially their own brew. Grumpiest landlady ever. The Basil Fawlty of real ale.

Nice friendly pub. Food little local tucked oit of the way with a cool little garden

Nice old fashioned back st pub. Staff friendly, good beer, although the choice of Ale is very limited. No pool table etc, just somewhere to enjoy a chat.

Fabulous old school proper pub, lots of live music, and often the locals (many Irish) will just burst into song when the mood suits.. Great prices, great staff, can't go wrong 👍

Nice old Irish pub with a good Irish music session every other Sunday 4-6pm. Went today. Ben Pailey was playing his fiddle. Lovely stuff.

Hidden away from Lewes Rd, an unashamedly 'pub' pub. Nice ales, lagers and sticky drinks. A hidden garden, a small stage that hosts some stomping, stonking bands. Dogs, both salty sea and four-legged, welcome.

Good pub. The landlady is superb, how she kept her patience with all the stupid covid rules, ive no.idea

Very nice pub, with suggestive garden in the back, pretty big, where you can enjoy your drink among a lot of plants, smocking, of you want.

Friendly little local tucked behind Lewes road. Definitely worth a visit

Full disclosure, this run by a mate. One of the few proper pubs left in Brighton. I DJ there occasionally. The beer's always excellent the food good a filling.

Great garden, good if you fancy a quiet drink
M. C.
Great little pub tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Lewes road. Live music regularly

Do you want a Brighton pub, without the associated inflated prices, trendy bull, vegan menu, a local pub, for local people, kept by cool people ... this is it then.
P.
Small local pub. Fairly expensive but friendly staff and customers. Great live music.

Nice sun trap out back in garden, it’s a pity my good twenty pond note was rejected.
P. K.
Very good traditional pub with some live music, Sunday Blues Jam Sessions every month
N. R.
Good beer, nice landlord. Bit bright.

Proper pub. Ales, beers and ciders with no pretentiousness. Nice outside seating area for smokers with a surprisingly large beer garden or the back. Won't break the bank either, which is a win win in my book.

Not quite as good as in its heyday under Ian and Eileen, but still a friendly local pub and an asset to the community.

Liked it, felt like a pint and first pub in the area. Happened to be 3 pound Tuesday, liked that too.
