Reviews of The Foundry
J. B.
Lovely little pub, great prices and friendly staff. Also has a toad in the hole game. Great times!!!
H. S.
Atmospheric and friendly pub. The bar staff give a nice warm welcome feel to the place. We were loving the bar music as we waited cosy indoors for the rain to pass with a beer or two. Cheers 🍻

Just a cracking little gem of a pub hidden away in the North Lanes. I like that it is a terraced pub, as in a terraced house but a big one, and it's charm extends inside. Staff are friendly, goof food selection and small plates for snacking. 😁 Definitely one to visit.
S. S.
Some of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted, wiil defo be going back for more. Pub itself may be a little grubby looking but who cares when the atmosphere is right.
J. M.
Lovely, friendly pub that can get pretty busy. Good food too. One of Brighton's secret venues...(shh)
E. W.
Came specifically for the Mexican food having travelled to Mexico and eaten amazing street food. Looked amazing on Instagram, the reality was slightly underwhelming. Was tasty in parts, disappointing in others. The £4 bowl of guacamole that had about a quarter of an avocado in it especially so. Would I come here again for food or drinks? Afraid not.

The Foundary is an awesome pub and definitely more in line with what Brighton is like as a place than the main drinking areas. Big fan.
G. S.
Roast dinner and big hug brewing beer delivered by Uber Eats and it was delicious. Especially the ham hock croquettes! Pork three ways. Superb vegetables, Yorkshire and gravy. Presented really nicely 👌🏻
E. D.
Good beer , local crowd but good vibes
L. M.
Totally vegan kitchen with a amazing menu for vegan and omnis alike! Lovely pub, cosy and more traditional vibe
J. B.
Small hidden away pub that is an absolute gem. Managed to fit us in before the football with 20 minutes notice, staff were all really friendly and drinks at a good price
J. S.
Friendly pub in the North Lanes. Excellent beer and food Well worth visiting.
e. c.
Very nice, friendly pub, will certainly be back
B. M.
Lovely independent pub that is near The Lanes but is a quiet gem.
I had a Sunday roast - the lamb.
Oh my goodness. It's huge with the most wonderful roast potatoes. For me the red cabbage was to die for. Generous quantities of meat, roast potatoes, vegetables (and a side order of cauliflower cheese & leeks with cream) and of course Yorkshire pudding. It took me some time to wade through it. All washed down with a very lovely Rioja.
They don't do puddings because you don't have the room.
Eat first, meander later to walk it off!
A real hidden delight.
T. B.
A great pub in a quiet location. Hidden from the masses of the high street.
Has always been a fun place and even during Covid had a great vibe.

We had a Sunday roast here and it was so so good. One of the best in brighton. The waitress Sophie was so lovely and helpful as well.
K. Þ.
Oooh lovely. Like taking your boots off after a 20 mile hike. Neck Oil on tap. Tidy
N. T.
Absolute beaut of a pub, hidden away down a mainly residential street. Friendly and welcoming; a great place.
J. H.
I've been for drinks at The Foundry several times, and it's a great pub, small, friendly, nice beer. I had a bad experience the one and only time I tried to eat there - the kitchen ran out of food and they phoned me an hour before we were due there to cancel the booking. Not great. I'd still drink there though, I just wouldn't plan an evening around them having food.
A. S.
We ordered a roast on Uber Eats and it was by far the best roast we've had. The food was piping hot when it arrived and every item was just so tasty. Can't recommend enough!
T. W. M.
Great vibes, great pub
S. P.
Lovely little pub playing great music.

I have been to this pub a few times now. It is well hidden, which I like as it is off the stag do pub crawl tracks. Very good inside feel to the place, with a fairly good beer selection. Can be quite during the afternoons. I think if they encouraged the staff (Who are friendly) to be a bit more outgoing and chatty it would make a brilliant local/regular pub.

I've been here 3 times now. In winter it's quite cosy if very dark. It seemed to be lit only by candle light but I'm sure there must be other lighting! Feels a little run down but in a good way. A good place to escape all the loud pubs and bars further in town. When I've been there's been no music and few people so a good place to go if you need some peace with a quiet drink.
In summer we sat outside on the widow sill bench in the sun. Again it wasn't busy.
I like it but I can see it might not be for everyone. Worth a visit though. You might like it as much as me !
R. H.
Lovely beer, including a couple of GF options usually, and yummy vegan food. Always liked this place and current incarnation is in line. Only downside is that the decor amplifies annoying shouty people on other tables somewhat!
A. W.
Great little pub tucked away off the tourist trail. No juke box, good beer and a really good vegan menu(no im not vegan, but would quite happily order somthing). Good friendly locals pub. Scruffy but with great character. Recommended.
S. H.
Top bar, top drinks and top staff. My local when I am in Brighton.
D. L. C.
Proper pub, that feels tucked away even though it's in the heart of North Laine. It's feels cosy with wood furniture, but not cramped. The vibe is laid back and has all of those local things that you want from a pub: local real ale / craft beers and local patrons. Has the excellent Two Wolves kitchen at time of writing, and that's always a good thing.
D. S.
An old fashioned backstreet boozer which can be easily missed. Friendly with heaps of atmosphere and completely unpretentious. Not a huge selection of craft beer, but what is available is well kept. It has a definite punk/alternative vibe. You'd probably have to be extraordinarily weird to be rejected here.
M. S.
Had an amazing three course vegan lunch at The Foundry today courtesy of the guys at 2Wolves kitchen. Really delicious food in a lovely pub with even some Leonard Cohen on the stereo. Highly recommended, make sure to try the jalapeno poppers starter and the peanut butter cheesecake with banana ice cream for pudding! :)
M. F.
Really cool pub that has improved a lot in the last couple of years. Amazing vegan menu, great service, cheerful staff and all round good experience. One of Brighton's best
L. C.
This is my favourite winter pub in Brighton. Tucked down a small residential street next to the Laines, it has a warm and cosy atmosphere. It's a little on the dingy side but a recent refurb, great beer, lovely staff and comfy seats make that a plus. It's the perfect place to duck into on a wet and windy day for a nice pint and a quiet chin wag.
E. B.
Excellent pub! So glad we stumbled across it last Saturday afternoon. The girl on the bar was so lovely and had put together a brilliant playlist! A real treat x
C. L.
Beauty of a pub. Good beer selection, a fire, and a good chill vibe, brah.
A. T.
Foundry- a great little boozer:you gotta go!
J. P.
A really cozy pub with happy hour specials and a nice quiet vibe. A great winter pub. Not much selection behind the bar, but an alright place to come for a quiet drink.
P. B.
My female companion found me staring lovingly at my pint. It's been a long time since a pint has affected me so much. It was Eagle IPA. Try one. I can't remember who she was...
N. K.
Nice pub and lovely staff. Great that they have a vegan and vegetarian roast options, and nice big portions but the veg was cold and a bit samey...we were too hungry to ask for it to be reheated though.
D. T.
Good beer. Always very busy when l go in the evening so don't expect a quiet place. Definitely worth a visit though if you want a 'earthy' boozer experience.
F. B.
Lively back street pub with shabby decor and good music on the ipod. It doesn't do much in the way of food but the Sunday roasts are good. Afternoons are quiet but it gets packed in the evening with most people spilling out into the street. Not the spot for a quiet drink but a fun student hang out - can be a bit lary.
K. O.
A very nice local pub. Just subtly done up but kept in keeping. Also great vegan food.
A. L.
Nice friendly pub with good beers.
P. D.

Lovely friendly staff thank you Sophie

S. J. H.
Very nice pub with a reasonable selection of beer and bloody beautiful Vegan food courtesy of Two Wolves Kitchen!
C. S.
Had vegan fish n chips. Wow! Staff really pleasant and friendly. Will certainly be going back for more.
S. G.
Amazing food, terrific style and a very decent pint of Guinness.
P. B.
A real pub! Pretty good beer choice, cosy layout enabling conversation, with no loud music, no pub quiz, no gastro-eating.
M. L.
Bumped it back up to 4 stars as they have beer that isn't larger or ipa on again. They have tried to remove some of the dank though and dank was this place's main selling point.
M. W.
Amazing vegan food, nice pub. I recommend the Sunday roast.
S. R.
