The pubs great the roast was ok though over powered taste of vinegar on the roast from the red wine gravy, but at least they had GF options

The pubs alright, could do with a makeover. The staff are lovely, Lou and Adam are brilliant. The best part of the pub is the food, wow 5 star food, tastes and looks amazing, portion sizes are massive and absolutely fill you up. They also do pizzas which are made fresh and come from a stone oven. Shane's an amazing chef/owner and prides himself on what he puts on your plate. Get yourself along here.

A good local pub, nice range of good beers, excellent pizzas and other food on menu at at good value for money prices. Pub quiz sounded good too, although we didn't join on this occasion.

We had a lovely Sunday Roast here. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and we were very well looked after. The staff also catered really well for our daughter's allergies and made us feel reassured and safe. Thank you so much, we will be back!

Lovely, light, airy, sunflooded pub! Burgers and pizzas are ace and you really get your money's worth! Really friendly staff who make you feel welcome! Good for families, couples, big groups, anyone really! Will be returning again soon!

Great food and at least before lockdown, you could watch pizzas be made. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I wish they had a kids menu, my Nan doesn't eat much and ordering a full meal is too much for her. If smaller kids portions were available that would be wonderful

Great selection of beers on tap, large selection of wines. Very well laid out venue with easy access to every area even at busy times. My visit was late in the evening, but I've heard the food here is excellent, so do check out their website to see their current menu. Saying that, when I visited it was on their trivia night which seemed very popular. The smell of fresh pizza was in the air which was very welcoming, as were all the staff who were clearly busy but attentive and helpful. Really can't fault the place .

It's exactly how it should be, just a quiet small pub that has a homely feel to it. Great for casual meet ups or breaking up with your missus cause she can't stop eating the last slice of pizza you always save for the morning. Staff are lovely and pour a great pint.

Just staying in the area for a couple of nights on business and found this little gem by accident. Seriously the Tex-Mex burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had and it came with a really good portion size of delicious chunky chips that were cooked to perfection. I would recommend the food here to anyone.

Really interesting place. The exterior is almost that of a 'Classic 70s' pub. However, memories of Double Diamond and Worthington E are swiftly vanquished with a spacious but cozy feeling place. Very good beer selection, efficient smiling staff and a friendly atmosphere. Did not eat but the pizzas looked very good. Well worth a visit.

Excellent pizza selection , ideal for vegetarians. It is a lively pub with a core of locals that ensure it is rarely empty. Beer selection is good and varied but they do turn over a lot of beer so you may be disappointed to find your tipple has gone, so drink up and enjoy

Great pub, with a lively atmosphere and good pub grub (pizzas from a proper pizza oven, burgers, etc...). Fantastic quiz on a Tuesday at 8pm - best I've been to in Brighton. Gets really busy though, so we booked a table. Audience of regulars who banter with and heckle the quiz master... Great laugh!

Good pub, good beer. Sunday Roasts are excellent although it's all hard floors etc so when it's busy it feels very loud. The craft ales are great but can be pretty expensive so worth checking the price before ordering

Went in here on a recent Sunday afternoon. Everyone except me went for one of the Sunday roasts. I Opted instead for the pizza. The roasts arrived first and left me questioning my choice, they were massive platefuls of lovely looking food. My pizza arrived a few minutes later, and it looked like what a pizza should look like, covered in toppings and cheese done just right for me - a little browned. It probably was the best pizza i've ever had in a pub and way nicer than a.n.other pizza chain place.

Its lovely to head down to a good old fashioned local pub. When its busy, it's very busy, and the unpredictable nature of how many folks are coming in sometimes means that this very large pub can overwhelm the bar staff. If you have an issue with the above - you are missing the point! The reason why I still come back here with frequency (like it's my local... whereas geographically it isnt) is because it attracts a really interesting set of local and friendly regulars. It's a great place to meet anyone from a Surgeon, to a Brickie, a window cleaner (who isn't) to a computer scientist, to well... who knows If the company you came in with bores you - sit back and try a different conversation, whilst the very friendly and welcoming bar staff do their thing. It's one of those rare places where there is a sense of community - if you don't want that, that's fine, but judging on brief impressions may be entirely incorrect. Been coming here for years, and hope to for many more - thanks everyone at the Hanover

This is decent takeaway pizza. Order some, snort a half pint of craft brew and go across the road to Butler's to get some quality Portuguese wine, return to claim your pizzas, take them round your friends gaff, and get very drunk playing Exploding Kittens (look it up) It's what solid middle aged dudes do.

After working a busy Sunday morning serving frozen Half Marathon runners & supporters in our coffee shop, a good roast was well deserved! We hadn’t booked anywhere as we had no idea how long we’d be working for, so just had to wing it, finding a good pub for a roast in brighton last minute is notoriously difficult, but the Hanover squeezed us in around 3pm and found us a nice corner for 2 (plus fur baby friendly) .. even tho it was busy, and the rugby was just about to start. First time in the Hanover, seems a local pub for local people, furniture & loos abit tatty and well used. Decor could do with a refresh. Orders at the bar was slow, could of done with another pair of hands on the jump yesterday, the poor 2 girls serving a packed pub all day looked run off their feet and fed up. The food came out fairly quickly tho, OH commented his was a little cold, but mine was fine. Big jug of extra gravy was free & really tasty. We shared the pâté & a side of stuffing balls for our starter. Pate was wholesale, but the stuffing balls where homemade and absolutely incredible (sent compliments to the chef) We both ordered beef, all well cooked, hearty & fresh, Yorkshire cooked in a dish like my mum used too and well seasoned. The portions where huge tho! There was enough to give a slice of beef each to the dog. As we left I looked around and a lot of plates had left overs heading for the bin, could of made a good few extra roasts just from the food waste I saw. No doubt the chef can cook, but shame for their profit lines. looks like they have a good pizza kitchen also.
