Fantastic, what a pub ,absolutely love the place ,this should be how all pubs should be,the owner and her husband absolutely brill ,friendly relaxed people which makes the vibe so enjoyable ,can't recommend this pub enough 😀they make their own flavour gin,can recommend the mango gin ,ten out of ten for authentic pub experience, loved it 😀😊

This is very possibly the best old skool pub in the centre of town. It's delightfully untouched so retains its charm harking back to a bygone era. Plus there's an ancient jukebox with records that are all at least 30 years old. Staff are nice and there's Neck Oil on tap so you really can't go wrong.

Love this pub. Excellent to sit outside and watch the world go by on a nice day. Lovely inside too and they have a nice gin selection. Always a bonus if you manage to see Bailey the pub cat too!

Small one room pub with a resident cat. A couple of ales on, some craft and the usual lagers. Great place for a quiet afternoon drink or in the evening when it's more lively.

What more could you ask from a pub on a cold and wet day? We were greeted by a very helpful and polite lady who helped us in to the bar with our sons wheelchair made him feel very welcome and supplied us with the best home made sausage rolls I have ever had. The prices here are very good and the ambiance is fantastic, a real English pub not messed about for the young set. This is the place to have an excellent snack with good wines and beers in a relaxed and authentic pub. Well done the owners.

The Heart & Hand has an old time, small town pub feel to it. Staff is mega cool, and Bailey the bar cat is just incredible. I mean holy hell is this car fluffy. Maybe fat + fluff. Go give her a good petting!

Lovely staff. Great pub cat (no dogs allowed!) and never had a problem at any time of opening to grab a beer. Normally whilst I'm waiting for stock to be delivered at Guitar and Amp centre down the road as I'm happy to wait for my purchase, knowing there is a good pub a stone's throw away. Thanks!

A thoroughly unremarkable looking pub, inside and out. But. The staff are fantastic (seriously some of the friendliest and most welcoming in the city centre) and the pub just gives off a chilled out vibe. (Chilled out vibe, calm down granddad!) Oh, and they've got a proper vinyl jukebox. One extra star for that alone.

a brilliant pub that gives of a real mods and rockers vibe in Brighton. the beers on tap are very well kept which most real ale drinkers know is a good start. but although an old pub with a rather shabby interior and exterior it has a very laid back and cool vibe to it, partially due to the fantastic jukebox at the back of the pub. the journey is worth it just to select some vinyl to play. good as a student hang out, or a sunday daytime session! definitely check it out if your close by

This is a pub. Sounds obvious. Wrong. I mean this is a real pub. A throwback to a time when pubs sold Beer & Spirits,and if your lucky,the odd bag of crisps. The barstaff are the Best I've met in Brighton. Wonderful people. The best thing about the Heart though........they have a VINTAGE VINYL JUKEBOX !! Records changed monthly. Music in its most beautiful sound. Cannot praise this place enough.

What a charming pub. Crisp ciders on tap, and not quite so popular that you can't find a seat. The highlight though, is Bailey the bar cat who absolutely will not pose for you, come to you, or turn towards you. This is clearly his bar.

Bailey is the main reason I come here although he is almost always either mad at me or in a general huff. I respect this however as everyone gives him unwanted attention all day. One day I think we will reach a mutual understanding that we like each other and will just sit together and enjoy life.

I've always like this pub but had a horrible experience recently. I'd had a couple of Kronenbourgs at a previous pub and when I took a sip of one bought from here it tasted odd. I took it to the bar and said it tastes funny only to be told, after the girl behind the bar had tasted the beer from the pump and then passed it to the other barman and then asked a customer who was drinking Krony, that it tastes like Krounenbourg!!! I then stood in silence for a few seconds waiting for some sort of reaction but nothing was said. I did then get a little annoyed and may have chucked in a few swear words but I think it was justified. Here's a tip to that girl behind the bar. If someone brings an almost full pint to the bar saying that it doesn't taste right, you don't then get the opinion of 2 other people at the bar and then just stand there. You say I'm sorry about that sir/madam and ask them if they would like something else instead.... I was going to give this place 1 star but I've been here a few times before and I quite liked it so I'm not going to let one bad apple spoil the barrel.
