Reviews of The Hollingbury

Only popped in for one, ended up staying for several. Had a great evening. The owner Mark was very friendly and welcoming. The garden looks great. Always a good evening out.

Nice pub , very quiet in the daytime, nice staff.

Walked past and driven past this pub and always wanted to try it. I (wrongly) thought that it was a bit spit & sawdust, but I actually found it to have a good atmosphere without the pretence that many hipster brighton pubs have nowadays.
The barstaff are super helpful and friendly and the prices very reasonable. I have not tried the food yet, but the outside seating area is really nice, with kids being able to play.
All in all a good pub for those who just want a drink in friendly surroundings & without having to sell their liver to pay for it. Bravo The Hollingbury!

Came here for a drink with a friend. Sign said there'd be a warm welcome, which there wasn't, but I felt really comfortable there. It's a decent space, nice crowd on a Wednesday night. Good beer, would be nice to have some more varied nibbles but otherwise great pub!

Seems friendly enough, but went in on a Saturday afternoon and the horse racing was on at high volume to an audience of old men.
Nice enough place but not my sort of pub. Guinness was only £4.40
Edit: Just added a star as I've noticed there are cling-film wrapped egg rolls on the bar. Proper old-school

A nice local's pub smartly decorated with friendly staff. Darts and a pool table for those who want.
A decent place to spend a few hours with friends or pop in for a pint and chat to staff or regulars.

Really friendly pub and great service. Good outdoor seating and fantastic staff.

Generally a very nice pub, blonde woman behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly. Do an assortment of panini's, burgers and other sharing plates ranging from £4-£8 which is clearly a reasonable price. Pints seem to range in between £3.50 and £5 which for Brighton is pretty decent as well, unfortunately the recent renovations seem to have removed a lot of the character of the pub but it is very clean and well presented nonetheless - not sure the point of the weird glass door at the entrance?. Pool and Darts as well which seems to be hard to come by recently, seem to have an events schedule during the week with a 'Reduced price Ale Night', 'Fizz Fridays' (£11 for a bottle of prosecco) and Live Performances on Saturday nights. Would definitely recommend and will be going back for sure.

Absolutely brilliant place to be! So inviting and friendly! They try so hard to provide the best and they sure do deliver.. if it's the after work drink, catch up with friends, a place to get merry on a night out or whatever your situation may be... this is the place for you! Go down and see for yourself.. you'll always leave there with happy memories! #TheHollingbury #Mark&Lisa

We found it has a very good bus service even on a Sunday, to Brighton. Some shops were within walking distance. Good bus and train links to The University of Sussex.

Local crowd, loud but friendly. Doesn't have a homely pub feeling but clean and enough seating. Could have better beer selection.
D. Q.

This is my local pud I should visit here more often then I do I came down a few weeks ago for a few pints and a game a pool with a some friends I was surprised that the pool table was free to play and the drinks were not badly over priced like most pubs are I will definitely recommend this pub

Good outdoors. Indoors is average but the prices make up for it.

The Hollingbury, formerly The Hollingbury Hotel, has been situated in a prominent position in the Hollingdean area of Brighton since the late 19th century.
Pop in for a friendly welcome from Lianne and her staff.
