A.Great selection of beers, good food from The Pickled Oyster and friendly staff. The terrace and therefore current Covid, outdoor space at the back is well done, with a retractable roof and ‘garden walls’. Rather chilly however decent heaters. Easily our favourite central Brighton pub.
M. P.We went for a very late lunch here on a weekday. It wasn't very busy and our order was taken quickly by the friendly girl at the bar. Apparently evenings and weekends are busy. The pub has a pleasant, but simple decor and it has a comfortable ambience. The food arrived after about twenty minutes, served by the chef. We all had different choices, and we all enjoyed the food. Really well cooked and very tasty. The bar is well stocked and has a good range of beers especially. There is also an outdoor area behind the main room. The facilities are in the basement down a flight of stairs and to be honest they let the place down a bit. Cracked sink and everything a bit sticky. The pub is not wheelchair accessible either. We'd still be happy to go again though, because the important things are right.

The price is excellent and the choices of drink is great!
It would be much better to book ahead as it can get busy but I've never struggled to find a table here!
P. B.Great little pub hidden away five minutes walk from sea front. Good selection of beers and spirits. Food was very good and value for money. Staff friendly and pubs atmosphere is layed back almost bohemian. A must if visiting Brighton.

a. k.Nice and friendly pub not far from the The Grand Hotel. Had the food which was just as expected, nice and wholesome and very reasonably priced.
There are expensive top pressure beers but the draught IPA 360 was very reasonable and a great session beer.
Originally didn't like the beer but the friendly guy behind the bar said it would grow on me and he was right.

J.Well, what can I say. Wonderful friendly staff. Having to live a gluten free life is difficult these place no issues straight off double checked with the chef to issue food would be suitable. Portion size great after helping a friend with garden house move. Well worth a trip to Brighton. Defo will be back for more yummy grub. I had pork belly with greens mash and gravy the lichees made it even more tasty. Double thumbs up.
H. M.Nice pub since the refurb, but it's lost the rustic feel. The staff are very polite and welcoming. £5.40 for a pint of Staropramen is exorbitant and unecessary. The locals discount has gone along with the staff discount. Grab a four pack of beer and enjoy the beach.
L. K.The first impression was not the best. It was hard to get through to the bar staff even though the place was not crowdy at the time. After waiting about 20 minutes to be served, and seeing that other customers had been attended to, we gave up and left. The second attempt was much more successful. The staff was friendly and the food really tasty. Pleasant place for some pub grip and a good pint.

D. S.One of my favourite Brighton pubs. Genuinely good food and a medium selection of varied beers. The decor is eclectic and the youthful, friendly staff seem to understand their jobs. It can get quite busy for lunches but, unusually for such proximity to West St and the town centre, it appears to be mostly well-behaved locals.

V. Q.Such a good atmosphere, really cosy, nice bar staff, cheap enough prices. Can get busy on the weekends, as they do do live music there, but weekdays it's a perfect place to catch up with an old friend, after work drinks, or just to chill with a couple of budsssss. Good smoking area, if you're into that, and great food to boot. They stop serving food at like 8,8.30 (don't quote me on that) and their prices for that are reasonable too. The chicken kebab is to die for, it's my personal favourite.

I arrived at approximately 05.15 p.m. and the rest of our group turned up at about 05.30 p.m. the staff had organised a table big enough for all of us and laid it up with cutlery, napkins and Christmas crackers!
I had a Japanese starter with Chicken then moved on to the traditional Turkey and Christmas pudding with custard! Some others had a chocolate pudding and ice cream! We all enjoyed the fusion of different types of food immensely!
The service, drinks and food were excellent!
We ended the evening full and very happy!

I had a gin and tonic alongside it because why the heck not and my partner had a pint and stared at my food in envy EVEN THOUGH he had the opportunity to order something. But no no he wasn't hungry, until he obviously saw my dinner and got the green eye. Honestly, men.

I liked it a lot. Quiet atmosphere, good and wide selection of beers, including craft beers. Delicious food and well priced. The Sunday roast of any meat was 12 pounds and was gigantic and super well cooked.
