Reviews of The Marine Tavern
M. D.
me and my partner visited this lovely little pub back in May and we had such a wonderful time the owner of the pub was extremely welcoming and the locals made us feel right at home. it was our first time visiting Brighton sadly we visited on our last night so next time we are down this will be the first stop we make. Thank you to the marine tavern for being so welcoming and good hosts :D
L. M.
What an absolute wonderful experience. Great Beer, big up to Neil. Will definitely come again x

What a fab atmosphere, the staff and Landlady make you feel so welcome. A cracking little pub with a massive heart. Wonderful evening
J. A.
Best Sunday lunch, great value for money , lovely friendly staff, very quirky only drawback is very small inside, however highly recommend a Sunday roast but you either book or get in quickly as they fly out the door
B. K.
Great atmosphere, and welcoming locals. Popped in for a drink with my missus, and was treated to some free shots. Will definitely pop back when next in Brighton
C. F.
Bar staff very friendly. Music at a level you can have a conversation. Decent playlist and relaxed atmosphere.

Great friendly little bar . Great prices. Saw a very entertaining drag act sat evening Candi rell
Only drawback is toilet downstairs
j. b.
The nearest thing to a "local" in Kemptown, friendly pub ,it won't be long before you're chatting to the regulars, The prices are much better than places that seem to charge a "Brighton " premium !
M. R.
I love the Marine Tavern, a good old fashioned gay boozer. There's not many of them left.
B. U.
Great place very friendly staff good atmosphere
G. D.
Lovely quaint small pub stones throw from the Beach.
M. A.
Good selection of drinks and good service. Small but definitely worth a visit.

Stayed on a Saturday night very well looked after by manager Neil and staff member Scott. Guest house very clean, comfortable and welcoming and just across the road from the pub. Being a straight couple we felt very welcome by everyone and was a great atmosphere spent our whole trip there. Will definitely recommend to anyone going to Brighton. Thanks again guys see you again soon love Jim and Lyn xxx

...the Sunday Roasts are Amazing!!😮xx

We came here for a Sunday roast. It’s a cosy pub and the staff is friendly. The roast is really tasty - loved both the gravy and the sauces - and at a very good price! Recommended for a lunch out in Brighton.

Always come here for a drink and a roast dinner when visiting Brighton. Great atmosphere and the roast dinner is just to die for!

Warm, welcoming and homely feeling pub. Close enough to hub and bub of Brighton nightlife but further enough away to be far enough away.
I'm pretty sure I rented an air b&b owned by the owners of the pub when I visted. Which was spacious, clean, comfy and even had self catering equipment.
All in all fantastic, would give more stars if I could.

This small but fabulous bar is one which is full of character and one that you have to visit while exploring Brighton. We went in just to have a drink and got talking to Matt the Bar Manager who was absolutely lovely. He made us feel welcome and gave us great advise about what bars to head to. It's a shame that not all venues have people like Matt cause if they did they'd all make a killing Will DEFINITELY be visiting again over the Pride season
P. O.
Lovely little pub, only wish we could have stayed longer. Shame they were not serving food
C. B.
Had an amazing experience here! I'm allergic to dairy so it can be hard for me to eat out but the service here was brilliant. No fuss, and got served a delicious roast! Also, I was given extra roast potatoes as I couldn't have the mash. Very very happy. Will definitely be back.

I see some reviews saying you should change the decor or interior and I must say I disagree. I'm not a local but as someone who was traveling very far from home this bar and it's hometown feel and hospitality was truly an oasis for me. It is instantly welcoming and the decor and staff and patrons all make that possible. I say keep doing what you're doing. I think you attract the kind of people that make that place what it is, and the place is lovely.

This pub is an absolute pleasure to be in especially with so many events each week and the Sunday roasts are a beautiful meal and at brilliant price of £5.95 or 2 for £10. I have had the pleasure to become friends with so many people in this venue and Im sure that you will . This venue is the sort of venue where everyone knows you and it creates a lively but calming atmosphere. Enjoy your time here :))

Cosy little pub in the heart of the Gay Village. Great roasts on Sundays with live entertainment in the evening.
Tricky, but not impossible quiz with a curry on Tuesdays for only £1!
Something happening every Friday from LGBT bar crawls to live drag shows.
Music never too loud to have a conversation day or night, staff and regulars are all lovely with a good selection of lagers and beers.
A real gem of a proper pub.

Spent the day in Brighton back in May and spent a couple of hours in the Marine, we were made so welcome that we came back for a long weekend in August.
Now there is always the worry that things won’t be as good the second time around, but we had a blast. Thanks Jim for a great Sunday lunch and Neil and the gang for making our weekend a memorable one, we can’t wait to come back down.
Thanks again from Kay, Nigel, Bev and Martyn. 👍

Excellent food, friendly staff, bar pumps well looked after, pleasant atmosphere and nice and cosy too.
G. S.
Very intimate and charming pub loaded with character and oozing open friendliness. A must for visitors to rub shoulders with locals.
Given the position and proximity to numerous Guest Houses off the promenade, mingling a high probability.
S. h.
Small and bijou loos fiend a flight of stairs. Not cheap as it’s another pink pound pub and staff as usual indifferent! A few professorial drinkers who dominate the place and rather dark and dingy. Only a last resort frankly!
L. T.
Very good cosy gay bar internationally known. Always very welcome and extremely excellent staff. Has a extremely good Sunday roast plus they have certain events during the week to fit all. Such as a quiz on Tuesdays and throwback Thursdays which consists of a free sourz shot or sidekick shot per drink brought however this excludes half pints
J. T.
Delicious Sunday roast. Portion sizes were large and gave a good assortment of vegetables to accompany the delicious chicken. The whole meal was tasty served with both mash and crispy roast potatoes, as well as a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding.
Meats available: beef, chicken, lamb or nut roast.
Starters and desserts are also available - and equally generous in portion.
Staff are friendly and the cosy atmosphere is perfect for the ideal Brighton Sunday afternoon.
C. M.
All the staff are great - friendly and fun and the food is excellent - great value too. I look forward to seeing you all again next time I get over to Brighton. :)

Traditional Gay crowd and pleasant staff in a traditional pub, what more could a guy ask for? Oh, beer is good!
M. T.
Great Little Gay Bar in Kemptown , Very Mixed crowd with weekly entertainment.
