What a great find while we were at Brighton Marina! Beautiful pub with wood fire, lots of space and comfy spots as well as lovely staff. We ordered 6 small plates the portions were great, delicious mac n cheese, chicken wings, and fish goujons. The best dish was the croque madame, it was one of the best I have ever had (we ordered 2) If we didnt have other plans we would have stayed here drinking most of the day. We will definitely be coming back, thank you so much, always great finding a lovely pub!

Lovely location, was really busy for Sunday Roast but we got served within a decent time. Food was great, I just felt like there wasn’t a lot of choices for mains, especially veggie options but I get that on Sunday it’s quite common. Great staff 👍🏻

First time I have dined in the master Mariner and I found the staff friendly and helpful. The starters at £8 seemed like they were steep but portion sizes are good so the value is there, other restaurants would call them sharing plates. Good range of beers and all good quality.

As per usual, a great visit to this pub. If you can't go abroad, I highly recommend to pay it a visit one sunny day: sitting next to the boats, in a secluded area it feels like the coast of Spain. On not sunny days, the interior is cozy and the fire is on. Either way a great place to visit. Great chips too!

Hadn’t been here for years, but it was Sunday, we were passing and we were hungry, so we thought we’d stop by for lunch. Extremely glad we did! Absolutely cracking Sunday roast. A proper decent feed. Add to that a gentleman of a host and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure 👍🏼

Busy for a Sunday lunch but we found a table. Roast was ok. Nice gravy and the cauliflower cheese (£4.50 extra) was excellent. The pigs in blankets (£4.50 extra) were terrible. I can't believe.you can actually buy sausages that cheap, change them up they really let the whole meal down and is the main reason for the 3 stars. Lamb was gristly, potatoes weren't crunchy and the Yorkshire wasn't great. Few tweaks and you could have a good product, so close yet so far.

Its a lovely pub in a great location. My family and i came here on a whim for a where i bought a pint of Beavertowns: Gamma Ray; the outside seating area is lovely and the interior decor has a great rustic feel to it. The young bar maid was nice if not, sadly, a little slow but again she was pleasant. Its a bit pricey which ie to be expected considering the local and sadly the toilets really need a refurb as there are bits hanging off and holes here and there. Other than that i will be back for a pint of two.

Great atmosphere. Especially with the log fire it is super cosy. Thursday nights are awesome with the 1940s themed bands. I love the table candles which are in each table, the candles are in old liquor bottles. Favorite hearty meal is the sausage and mash! I love Mash potato! A good cosy pub.

Party of 8 on Friday night, all booking details correct, but limited tables for dining at. Staff friendly and helpful, manager present to check all ok with customers. Food is basic pub grub, but honest, hot and plenty of it at reasonable prices - for the Marina. Live music kicked off after 9pm, but plenty of outdoor tables if that's not your thing Would recommend and happy to go back myself

We loved this quaint, cosy and historic pub (pets welcome) nestled in the marina. I loved the smell of smoke fires as I entered. The food was very well presented, very fresh and enjoyable. Friends commented on the amazing, soft jacket potato, the Hunter's Chicken and I enjoyed Scampi and the side salad. Also, the staff were very friendly and the service was great. When we thought we'd lost keys, staff were helpful in taking down details. It was a bonus that we won £10 on the pub quiz machine so we all left with a very good taste in our mouth (in more ways that one). Thanks to all the staff who made the night a memorable one. You were awesome. We will definitely aim to come back next time we are in Brighton. PS: And we found the keys later, thanks. :)

Really like this place and try to go frequently during the winter, as always like having their mulled wine by the log fire. Unfortunately last time we went the chimney was blocked and smoke was pouring out into the pub, making it really difficult to breathe and our eyes water. Probably best not to light the fire when it's in need of a clean! Otherwise the place is clean, cosy and comfortable. Food and drink is reasonably priced.

Nice bloke behind the bar and some decent ales, but lacking in character or atmosphere on a Sunday evening. Also doesn't serve food on a Sunday evening so even less reason for people to visit. The whole pub is in need of a deep clean and the toilets (upstairs) could do with (another) lot of repairs. The area around the pub should be a brilliant place to sit and take in the views and atmosphere while drinking a leisurely beer but, like the pub, it was probably good a few years ago, but is now waiting to be re-developed. Maybe we just hit it at the wrong time? An OK place to get a drink if you can't be bothered to walk into town.

Friendly staff, good section of beer (the grapefruit infused IPA is awesome) and great food. We had the whitebait starter, fish'n'chips and the homemade steak pie. They were all very tasty. Best of all, they are DOG FRIENDLY. Our collie loved overdosing on chunky chips.... the portions are BIG. Highly recommended.

A large bar and seating area make up this spacious and well maintained pub. Staff were polite and efficient, which is nice. Outside seating is some what limited so may not be able to sit outside on a hot day and play "And how much do you think that boat is worth?" Only tried their Sunday Roast and it was fine. Which i think is suitable adjective for the pub as a whole. Cheers.

We use this venue as a meeting place for our Mums In Business Association meetings - for East and West Sussex. Jeremy, Dan and his staff team always cater to our every need and are a delight. Their food is amazing, the cakes are superb! It’s a lovely venue too - right on the waterfront AND free parking!!! Thoroughly recommended.

Simply put I'm sure there ARE better pubs somewhere but I don't really care. This place is just what you want from an independent and local pub!

A great pub. Comfortable and affordable. In the winter open fires are lit adding a homely warmth. Good choice of foods and drinks. This venue plays host to many music evenings. Highly recommendable.

Decent pub, really only worth it in the summer to sit outside. It's at the back of the marina so is usually quieter than the main promenade area. The menu is decent, but the quality of the food itself is average for the price, which is steep. Staff are very friendly, but like to congregate and smoke in the doorway which can delay thing.

We arrived 5 minutes after they stopped serving food and the kitchens were being cleaned. However, they had a quick chat and managed to offer us a choice of two meals. As we had a dog with us and it was after 9 o clock and no other dog friendly eating places in the vicinity, we were really grateful. The place was cosy and warm with plenty of atmosphere.

When you travel through or to the marina from the beach, it leaves you a very strange feeling about the way the city was built, especially the commercial area and the driveway all along... So when you get to the inner marina, you feel a high relieve, and the master mariner seems to stand alone, the old building surrounded by new ones. The atmosphere inside the building is getting you to a new level, where you feel the building is not just old, it almost has a soul. A perfect place to enjoy an afternoon, or an evening. I'd recommend to go there, even if the walk from the pier could be a little bit better (especially the end, with those ugly parking lots). Almost forgot : nice choice of beers!

Very lovely friendly pub . After doing the bike marathon , I attended this pub for lunch . Well what can I say , it was honestly the place to be the food was spot on . But the most important thing for me was the way the pub was so well kept . It was extremely clean for a pub , the toilets ( I know not a great thing to talk about ) but they where do well cleaned , smelt of disinfectant, very shiny which is always nice . The overall floors where immaculate . The staff are friendly and happy to help . I will def we back . Made my father’s day

Nachos with fresh guacamole and salsa fresca was so yummy! Finally not the canned tomato sauce and the defrosted avocado puree what you usually get in many other pubs. Was only 6.5£! Food very basic, staff have odd attitude, building looks rundown and like it needs some love and a deep clean. But ok for a beer now we all have to boycott Wetherspoon's, and nice to dream about the boats for sale outside.

Splash Point jazz club night, really enjoyable. Pub has a warm feeling about it and is dog friendly. Not a huge crowd but once word gets around I'm sure this will change. I had a veggie burger - hallomi and Portobello mushroom with pesto, am not veggie but it sounded delicious and was. Thoroughly recommend venue and entertainment.

Then setting is nice, the food is half good, half bad. The onion rings are amazing.... but.... I also had a BLT baguette which was, at best, mediocre. I probably made a better one the first time I ever made a BLT baguette! It wasn't even close to what I would expect to get paying near on £9. I'd advise it as a nice place to drink, but be wary of what you get to eat, it's not good value for money.
