This has been our nearest pub for a number of years, it has always been ok, but excelled tonight. The beer was kept well and the food was really tasty and reasonably priced. Well done and would come back again on this experience.

I have been here a few times, just to meet friends for a drink, but the menu looks good and there are plenty of places to sit. Nice pub, worth going to if you want somewhere nice to meet up and have a drink or meal.

Christmas Dinner ruined by the fact the lamb was served rare and bleeding and my pregnant daughter couldn't eat it, and there was no mint sauce for the people the did tackle it, the roast potatoes were cooked and re heated even though we were almost first to be served, the cheese was lovely but the biscuits were disgustingly dry and no butter or cutlery served, then to add insult to injury our drink bill came to £35 with a £35 table charge we were only drinking soft drinks due to being drivers, having paid £75 a head then to be charged an extra £4 for the smallest ever blob of ice cream for my granddaughter we were all gobsmacked, the cappuccino was so strong it was undrinkable, Oh and the almond macaroons were coconut.....sorry Park View you messed up !!!! The two young men that served our table were very nice.

Solid drinks and food. Their outside space is the best thing about this pub. Huge garden out front and you can order via phone and they bring the food to you. Great for these COVID times. I had usually have the veggie burger - very good.

Sunday lunch in Jan 2022 with a fairly large group of us. Good service ....staff really friendly and an overall good feel to the place.

A mixed experience, the bar staff that initially served us did not know what a bloody mary or Pinot Noir were and resorted to saying they didn't have either until we pointed out the bottle behind him. Roasts were mainly cold. The pie was great. A lovely lady behind the bar was very helpful, the guys weren't. Overall a bit of an odd experience, seems some training is needed for more inexperienced members of staff.

Really wish there was a 3.5 or even a 3.75 option because after trying The Park View for lunch today it wasn't bad and I would go back but it was amazing. I had the "crispy" duck salad, which wasn't crispy enough and it had more watermelon that actual greens and the actual salad required a bit of cutting. My husband had the burger with sweet potato fries and they seemed good. I tried the fries and they could have used some salt and been a bit crispier. The atmosphere is fantastic and location is great so I would love to come back and try other things on the menu. Overall a nice pub lunch for those on the outskirts of Brighton.

Recommended by friends and yes, it was good. Delicious fish cakes on a tasty fish bouillabaisse. Non carne soup was thick and lush. Quite filling for what appeared to be a smallish bowl. Excellent food. Large place with upstairs and downstairs and divided up, so that it didn't seem too big. You can hire out the downstairs with a private bar too.

Had a great lunch at the Park View. Service was very good, fast and clean. You had to order via app which is interesting but worked without major issues. Unfortunately some of their dishes were sold out but that's ok. You just pick something else then but overall food was good! Excellent Sunday roast! This was my first visit to a local pub since lockdown in 2020 UK began. The pub has recently reopened and is adhering to all Covid-19 guidelines and have several rules in place to help keep everyone safe. We all had a lovely roast lunch and everyone in our party of four really enjoyed it, I reckon it was a good 9.5 out of 10 so very good indeed! Will visit again and highly recommended.

I like the style of the pub since the renovation and the outside space is nice too, however, I wouldn't recommend this place for food. We've been here before for a roast which was underwhelming but had heard the kitchen had changed. I'm not sure if that was for the better because our sticky Asian chicken starter wasn't sticky (expected a sauce to come with it which we had to ask for after it was brought out), the garnish and side salad were dried out. The chorizo and prawn starter looked like something I could've made better at home, the chorizo was barely cooked and the "sourdough toast" looked like from a loaf of Warburton's... one of our friends had the roast which apparently was "okay", and another was happy with her Beyond Meat burger. We were disappointed but luckily hadn't really gone to eat, just wanted some nibbles with our drinks...

Just been to this lovely restaurant for a family meal there was 11 of us. The food was superb I had the beyond meat burger vegan burger was the tastiest vegan burger I’ve ever had. everyone enjoyed there lunch and puddings. Soooo much better (at least on this experience). The makeover has made it lighter and just a more customer friendly pub. However the main change seems to be the bar staff...they actually have some! This pub has always had the potential to be excellent but the lack of bar staff and the wait at the bar has plagued its reputation with locals for years, but things have changed, finally. Love it and will be visiting a lot more.

Dog friendly! 👍🏻As soon as we sat down we were offered dog water and biscuits at the table which got lots of points from us! All of the staff are lovely and friendly. We both had a roast and they were delicious and HUGE. We asked for a doggy bag to take the rest home because we didn’t want it to go to waste and they were very helpful. Love this pub! Never let down, and was exactly what we needed on a rainy Sunday afternoon!

Pleasant place to pop in for a pint or for a good pub meal. Good choice of beers which keeps changing. Fun if you like sampling a variety of brews from time to time. In the summer, the garden is not bad. Nicely fenced off considering it is on a busy corner.

A generic local pub. Beers are overpriced, food is pretty nice but overpriced, and the place gets really busy and full of families with children on peak evenings. The downstairs area always seems to be reserved for a function plus all of the tables are permanently reserved so it's tricky to find a place to sit unless it's a sunny day and you have the pick of their large beer garden. If you want a quiet pint I would suggest a different pub.

This Pub has a great atmosphere. Friendly bar staff! Great seating area inside and out! Dogs are welcome. The food is okay quite expensive for generic food! It based right next to Preston park. If driving then you can park outside on the roadside or of an evening you can park by the side of the park after 8pm as they don't charge you.

This is my local. The ambience is great. The food is normally just about ok but most dishes are slightly over priced and can miss the mark sometimes. We laugh about the service. Some of the staff are friendly but generally the service is silly slow. I bought a bottle of beer last time I was in and the girl just passed it over unopened, no glass offered and wondered off to chat to someone.

'The Park View' has recently been 'refurbished' but unfortunately it still seems to be somewhat soulless. There is the usual thumping, inescapable loud music (the enemy of quiet conversation) which somewhat upsets the ambience. I have not yet experienced the food, which I shall do at a later date (although it does seem exceptionally overpriced for what it is - depends on the portion size I guess) so can only comment on the drinks available. It has to be said that there is a bewildering variety of beers on tap, which can be a good thing, but not when the price of a fairly ordinary pint is in excess of £5.00, accompanied by the invidious practice of two halves costing more than a pint. The bar staff do their best, but some need to attend a "How to Smile" course and seem to exist only to take (a lot) of your money. As regards the wines, from what I saw, a bottle that you can buy for under £5.00 in a supermarket, being marked up to something in the region of £25.00 is somewhat egregious. Overall this is not a pub, but a corporate 'entity'. Take your ear defenders and a well-stocked credit card.

The place is overall quite nice. The inside is nicely decorated and pleasant. During the summer there the outdoor option, which is however quite noisy because of Preston Drove and Surrenden road, which are normally quite busy. The food is not bad overall, and some dishes are actually really good (try the lamb). The price is a bit higher that what you'd like to pay, but inline with the quality and service. Ordered 4 meals. They got one wrong....however they happily rectified it. Chicken Katsu burger seemed over fried and burnt. Onion rings dripped in oil and the chicken burger with Avocado was over charred. Apart from these three things, it was a pleasant experience. Not sure if I would return to eat here.... If I do I will order something different. Staff are nice! :)

The ambiance as a pub and along with drinks list is prob 5star. I go there bcos my daughter likes it. However for me the food could easily be far better. The main courses are too big but I'm sure this will suit some. Some of the veg today on my chicken roast was from crispy duck menu by the looks & taste of it. Its very tasty in its way but lacking perhaps finesse. Maybe I'm fussy? The deserts are probably a bit tacky & sickly. I think deserts should caress the palate & leave me comforted. These attack me & stick my teeth together. I wud get a couple of mums to make treacle pud, spotted dick & fried banana etc. We r spoilt for choice so its a shame these deserts show little flair & care.
