Lovely bar, great cocktails and music and atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and fun. Our first drinks were slow to come and staff gave us a discount and recognised this. The thing was that the rest of the service wasn't great which is why I dropped a star. The staff were lovely but we had to ask them to order second drink and felt a bit forgotten. Would recommend though as everything else was good 👍

We were extremely lucky to have a fantastic experience in this wonderful Gem. Flight of the buffalo was a sensation. The presentation made the experience for us. As a venue, lovely warm lighting and classy decor had us instantly feel comfortable.... Even more so as we sipped away 🤭🥃🍹 Staff were extremely polite, professional and person centred. They went above and beyond to welcome us for our Anniversary weekend. One particular staff member (apologies I didnt catch your name...) Was very enthusiastic about the drinks on the menu, he unravelled a world of knowledge of the drinks being served. Amazing atmosphere, unique signature cocktail selection, pretty expensive prices. I would recommend this for anything who has a sophisticated palate for drinks or needs some romantic atmosphere. Anyone else should probably look elsewhere as Brighton has cheaper places. The drinks were definitely beyond me but I can see how those who likes complicated and interesting combinations could find something really special here. Staff are also super friendly which is always appreciated.

We booked ahead to get a seat at this popular cocktail joint. It's a little hidden away but worth searching out. The music and ambiance was good. LGBQT friendly, people meeting friends, first dates, date night.....all sorts. Nicely thought out cocktails that were all well presented and full of flavour and balanced. Table service and online menu to order from. Helpful and friendly stuff. Had a good couple of hours to drink, people watch and relax. It is a fairly small venue and they have socially distanced as much as possible inside.

Such an amazing bar! There is seating both upstairs and downstairs however I would recommend asking to be sat downstairs at the back as you currently get you own divided section of seating so feels very intimate. The cocktails are really well made, couldn’t fault anything we were served at all. Also the best espresso martini I have had. All the staff were really friendly and attentive.

We were put upstairs and it was absolutely soulless. One couple literally came in, looked around and left without ordering. Over our 2 hour session, we were basically forgotten about. My wife only managed to order 1 cocktail, I had to go to the bar to ask for a 2nd as no one came to our table to take orders. Then we just gave up and left. The cocktails were nice and downstairs was far more lively and had more of a vibe. Make sure you book downstairs, unless you want to sit in a quiet corner and read a book on a Saturday night.

This was a little Gem to find on a Sunday evening when we wanted a chilled one after a busy weekend at The Great Escape festival. Romantic little cocktail bar with lovely decor. Even the touches in the toilets looked fitting. Expertly mixed cocktails with quick, friendly and helpful service.

What a find! You get seated, given water and a menu. Plenty of cocktails to chose from, along with wines & spirits. My friend wanted an espresso martini, which wasn’t on the menu but proved to be no problem. I had a negroni. Both were excellent. Very chilled out and calm. Certainly somewhere a bit different to go for drinks. You can reserve a table, but they do hold some tables back for walk-ins.

A wonderful hidden gem, great for quiet premium cocktails. Dim and candle lit with relaxing piano music, and a very cosy (almost romantic) atmosphere. Knowledgeable bar staff and wonderful selection of liquors and cocktails, served to impress and to order. Expect to pay the price for quality at around £9 a drink.

Phenomenal drinks. Beautifully balanced cocktails in an intimate setting with welcoming and knowledgeable bartenders. A real treat to stumble upon this bar whilst on a walk one evening in Brighton. Tried a range of drinks from Dr Smoke to Tumi and each was delicious, expertly prepared. Each had a signature flavor that was well-balanced -- not too boozy, not too sweet, not too sour -- and allowed for appreciation of the spirits. Highly recommend a visit!

Really fun range of cocktails, mocktails and drinks in a unique and old timey setting. Its very intimate and dark but it adds to the atmosphere.They change the drink very frequently from what I gather and every one has a fun unique nickname, most of them are puns. They are expertly made and one of my party didn't know what drink to order and the waitress/cocktail artist was more than happy to find something they liked, or to even have a basic cocktail that was 'off menu' - The price is what you would expect from very authentic cocktails made to order. Not too dear at all and the size of the drink that you get does reflect the price.

Trendy Cocktail bar - superb drinks! Glad we'd booked as by 19:00 the place was packed. I had a gin / champagne based cocktail, which was one of the best I'd tasted. The only downside was the service. After we'd ordered it took about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, but the staff were friendly and the drinks were great.

If you like cocktails and feeling like your a bit special then it's a great place to visit. It seems odd but quite nice having someone take you to your seat in a bar in the same way they do in a nice restaurant. This bar is absolutely fantastic; as a bartender, I’ve never had a more pleasant experience in a bar. The staff are friendly and very informative. If you feel up to it, go for the trio of whiskies; the actual name escapes me, but the ‘Black Manhattan’ (one of the 3 drinks included), without question, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Why only a 4 star? It’s down a side street, so don’t expect a fantastic view.

I need more stars! I wanted to move in/work here immediately. On a freezing cold October day this is the perfect place to warm up. Really friendly knowledgeable staff who will create something just for you if you don't fancy any of the cocktails on the menu. It's dark, warm, intimate and just the perfect place to settle in with a friend and catch up. Delicious drinks an added bonus.

We had some superb cocktails here, our favourite being the Rhubarb & Custard, with their own gin custard no less. I've just looked and can't find it on the menu so I guess it must have been a special, but it's far more sophisticated in taste than it sounds it's also a long drink so you certainly fell that you:e got your money's worth . I also tried 'Shut Up You Plum' which was also very good.

We were advised to book a table as a Friday night and when we arrived around 8pm it was packed but to be fair they asked us to wait and within 15 minutes we had a table. Have to say very well made cocktails in a lovely room where you could still chat without the music being too loud. Slightly older crowd that were well dressed and not scared off by the prices. Only stayed for one drink but would certainly return.

Went to the Plotting Parlour for the first time last night, by the recommendation of a barman at the Great Eastern. I had a great experience, GREAT staff, a large part of deciding to leave this review was due to the good banter and chat with the staff, really does make a place when the staff are as good as those guys were. And the cocktails were awesome too, along with a great decor, I really couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

This place is devine ! Fabulously quirky classy vibe but welcoming, not snobby. Went there on a cold December weekend. Beautifully decorated for Christmas (the smell was amazing !!) and it was warm and cosy. Subtle dimmed lighting, with soft 30s style jazz playing, we sat on cinema type seats ,under a michaelangeloesque ceiling, and sipped divine and beautifully prepared gorgeous cocktails ❤ we loved it and will definitely return. Plus they use paper straws so a massive tick on my anti plastic list !! 😊

This place was absolutely divine! I'm a massive fan of the cocktails at Merkaba, and I've been told this is where the bartenders from Merkaba go for drinks, so it must be good right? The Bartenders were happy to make tasty virgin cocktails for my boyfriend, who doesn't drink, and to be honest they looked just as splendid as the alcoholic versions I had! I'll most definitely be going there again... I feel like it's one of Brighton's best kept secrets! Ahh the plotting parlour. This place really cannot be beat for cocktails! And, seeing as I fancy myself as a bit of a cocktail connoisseur, I knew I had to check this place out. What can I say? This place was absolutely divine!
