Reviews of The Post & Telegraph - JD Wetherspoon
N. G.
All day small brunch and a pint of ale. Always good value and the beer and food is tasty and fast. The venue is larger than it looks with seating on ground level, on this mid level landing and upstairs. Staff were great, as always.
G. B.
Like all Wetherspoon at the moment. Running out of ales/beers and some foods. Has a upstairs were the toilets are with a disabled one on ground floor. Limited seating if you want to eat. So advise go early. Place were the students go. Enjoyed going there when in Brighton. Staff friendly and helpful.
P. H.
Typical Wetherspoons on Saturday evening, loud, boozy and stewards well occupied keeping crowds in line. Upstairs staff attentive, food ok for what paid, but no ongoing cleaning or even wiping down tables between customers. As a last resort choice - it is what it is!
Y. C. J.
Had some breakfast today, great service from Bradley.. did us an off the menu mocktail, some orange and cranberry juice mixed up. Legend! Big lad too clearly hits the gym 😄
C. G.
Lovely food as in most Wetherspoons, reasonable prices, toilets spotless as always. Staff were friendly and helpful. The table we sat at hadn't been wiped which is very important in these times but they were extremely busy. Would visit again.
J. S.
Perfect place to visit with friends and family.
Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, service is amazing.
Food is delicious as well as a great selection.
Highly recommend visiting here.
T. M.
Loved in there ,great friendly attractive staff, on going coffee always with lots of froth ..always happy to come back .Enjoyed my toast with trimmings. Will be back .😊☕️🍽came back and had egg bennidict..gorgeous smooth ..and tastey. 😉💋 Tracey x

Thank you to all the staff for deploying the mobility ramp so I could get in and out of Pub. We had a lovely long weekend and was made to feel welcome on ever visit.
Food and drink good as always.
a. P.
Wasnt bad but the food turned up with bits missing and just a comment saying we have ran out...
Very low on booze a lot of the stuff on tap was empty etc
M. H.
Very busy pub most of opening hours Good food and service but cleaning needs improvement toilets messy and stair bannister extremely sticky.
N. H.
Fantastic burger and chips! Met a friend in a Brighton pub which we'd frequented for decades. I thought the prices were ridiculous. £13.95 for a burger?! I'd had their burgers before and didn't think much, so we went round the corner to Whetherspoon. It happened to be a manager's special of Burger and chips or salad for £3.99. We ordered one each. Bloody good!
S. C.
Lovely staff and friendly environment.
Food and drinks are nice.
The prices are convinient, it's not expensive at all.
It's popular, warm and cosmopolitan place.
I love to go there in my days off :-)
B.
It's a big pub, very lively at nights plenty of ventilation mixture of young and not so young .I had breakfast for two days sadly on the first day they forgot my breakfast as per ws pubs short of staff.they were run off their feet. Polite and friendly staff.
The second morning my breakfast, the bacon was burnt, ask for an extra sausage at 65pence was a bit steep.
Overall experience good
G. B.
Good to drop in for a drink. Bar service seems to be very slow so tried to order via the app and service just as slow even though not busy
K. H.
Very good breakfast.
Obviously a very popular establishment as both times we went it was busy!
Only criticism was l ordered hot chocolate and there was none in the machine and they had run out.
So had a latte instead.
R. R.
Busy as everyone was trying to get out of the rain. But service was relatively quick and the food was great.
J. G.
Standard Wether spoons. A bit dingy inside. Tables not cleared quick enough and a mediocre range of beers. Food up to scratch and hot
S. V.
Tons of souvenir products are in the store, they are interesting and unique, super cheap prices
v. f.
U jus can't beat a spoons ! Drinks Price, atmosphere and basic but good food. No complaints !! Will defo return. Good location in Brighton too easy for lanes etc and seafront
J.
Exactly what it says on the tin. Cheap, cheerful and decent quality. Ask for JD and coke and unlike the last time I was in a Weatherspoons (many years ago) actually received it. Also, Blue Moon was on tap which is a personal favourite. Only reason it's not 5 stars is my personal snobbery as for the purpose was excellent.
S. “. P.
It's a spoons. Busy, but fast app service. No issues really. Go to a spoons to drink and that's what we got. Cocktails do seem to be less and less alcoholic though.
R.
Amazing service, good food, clean tables, just perfect! Best way to finish my day in Brighton and return to real life in Cbridge
T. F.
good wetherspoons with some printing artefacts that thrilled me no end -plus a few good jars of john smiths. Wetherspoons have over 900 pubs and 50 hotels to look after and have coped with the covid situation far better than any one -and still are doing (this thing isnt going away)-also the ordering app has been a god send -well done to all concerned -and another thing -nowadays knighthoods seem to be handed out like confetti-isnt it about time we heard the words "arise Sir Timothy" ?.....
S. B.
Friend's and family members are always ready to go to The Post & Telegraph. The food is reasonably priced and good value for money..For one price you can have endless hot beverages. A lot of the meals come with a soft drink, or for a pound more an alcoholic drink. Try it I'm sure you'll love it.
K. C.
Good food for a reasonable price. Good atmosphere. Great for an everyday lunch.
c. H.
As always good food , good service. Clean Lois. Great drinks excellent prices.

D. R. (.
Nice breakfast , polite staff . All in all standard wetherspoons. Nothing to write home about really
J. P.
Mainly went on for shelter from pouring rain.Ale was good, although a seat was not too easy to find.
G. B.
Nice decor and location. Price of drinks is very reasonable.
A. B.
Very good value for money and the large mixed grill was great prices for drinks is also great cant knock it
B. F.
Love this weatherspoons in Brighton always an ideal place for food and drink friendly atmosphere and great location must return soon.

Excellent service, good selection of beers and nice food !
A. P.
Always an eye opener and occasionally you bump into someone you know 😉 Great team of staff especially the lady on the door !
T. R.
Very pleasant setting with a super value sale on . Can't go wrong
J. G.
First time ever I've found the toilets very poor no toilet paper and one cubicle badly blocked
B. M.
This is a typical W pub...usual crowd of 'Wethered' faces, younger budget drinkers and craft beer searchers. I am a big fan of the democratisation of booze despite the inevitable consequences of over indulgence. I was after a pizza as they are excellent but this branch had run out if dough, or at least the wheat variant if dough. Gas to settle for a burger. Still decent and service recovery was excellent. Rock on Brighton!
S. T.
Typical Wetherspoon pub.
Usual food and drinks menu which are reasonably priced.
The staff here were friendly and polite and certainly better than some of the other "spoons" pubs I've been to. Worth a visit.
a. c. m.
Great and friendly place to enjoy food and a drink ,,I recommend this to anyone, the food is hot and really nice ,,I have a YouTube channel its got Brighton videos on it ,have a look,,ab cammy m,,subscribe comment and click the bell please

Love this weatherspoons in Brighton always an ideal place for food and drink friendly atmosphere and great location must return soon.
M. G.
A Wetherspoons pub in a former bank building. The name comes from the local newspaper office which stood at number 55a and was presumably demolished to make way for the bank to be built, way back in the early 1900's.
Staff friendly and helpful. Always a good price for beers etc and the food offering.
Has two floors so if it seems busy when you enter go upstairs where there's the usual Wetherspoons 4 seater and table bays.
A. C.
Nice, hard working staff, ok food, reasonable prices. Usual, fairly unmemorable Wetherspoons experience.
M. W.
Nice decor, friendly staff. It's a spoons so you know what you're getting. What I don't get is why it's more expensive than my local weatherspoons just for being in Brighton? Eurgh. Still affordable compared to other pubs though.
G. M.
A large 'Spoons' with all the relevant things you come to expect from the chain.
Good food at a good price and a decent selection of beers.
If you like the chain you will like this place.
S. T.

J. B.
The service was very quick & food was amazing & if I ever visit this area in near future will definitely stop here for some lunch
J. E.
Pints were flowing. Atmosphere electric. I was feeling hectic 😎
M. M.
The tables were well spread out and the app worked ok to order from. The food and drink was reasonably priced.
G. B.
Nice decor and location. Price of drinks is very reasonable.
M. T.
Had drinks only. Fast service, good prices and busy pub!
R. W.
Typical wetherspoons format which is perfect. Good covid layout and the app is easy. After drinking and eating around brighton it was nice to have drinks here at half the price!
Staff are really polite.
L. B.
A trusty Wetherspoons, you know what you’re going to get before you walk in the door, that’s why we all use them!!
This one was rather small but I only got to see the downstairs
The patrons were friendly, the place was clean, they served beer and food, what could go wrong??
V. C.
Excellent service, good selection of beers and nice food !
S. H.
The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best iv had in a while so complements to the chef. Bar area and loos were very clean.
D. P.
Went here for a drink in the evening and returned the next day for breakfast. Good food.
D. L.
Always good for prices and service, food good.
s.
Visited 3x 1st visit mixed grill (cant choose how you like your steak its not an option with a mixed grill) tasted nice good value for money 2nd visit breakfast... good price good food (wasn't overly keen on flame grilled tasting bacon) but was nice 3rd visit chicken tikka masala ... perfect ... we did visit the weatherspoons at the marine and that was a massive disappointment so ended up back here .. staff was friendly
It does get very busy and seating can be in short supply .. worth a visit
N. S.
Although it was really busy, the food was served very quickly. The meal was wonderful and it was a good size.
J. F.
Really nice, high-ceilinged building. The waitress who brought our drinks couldn't have been any more helpful.
S. M.
Great beer selection and good food
A. P.
Always an eye opener and occasionally you bump into someone you know 😉 Great team of staff especially the lady on the door !
J. R. (.
Decent spoons but a little more pricey than the other spoons located closer to the beach but it makes up for it as it's bigger and quieter.
50% off made food practically free so I can't complain and the drinks are what you'd expect. Staff are friendly and it's a good atmosphere as a result of great staff.
Only downside is that it's a spoons and social distancing isn't as great as I'd like.
J. G.
First time ever I've found the toilets very poor no toilet paper and one cubicle badly blocked
L. D.
Good food but only 3 small pieces on pizza when paid extra for onion. Still nice though.
c. k.
Quick and polite service staff. Good prices too
C. W.
Very busy, had to wait a while for the table to be cleared and drinks to delivered after ordering through the app. Over a general weatherspoons experience
H. R.
Know your table number or end up searching for it in the rain! Good service, sensible system due to the corona virus, good food for the price. App works well for the most part if slightly worse options than ordering at the bar. Worth a visit.
A. p.
Very good as per cost. Staff is friendly and interior is good.
S. P.
Visited on a busy monday evening on the 19th July when everything opened back up, despite being a very busy night the staff found us seating and we still enjoyed a good night of reasonably priced drinks and good service.
C. M.
Sunny Sunday lunchtime, good food, service and beer at good prices. Thank you!
S. D.
Nice building same good service friendly people. Worth having a drink and meal in
S. L.
Great atmosphere cheap night out
W. B.
Breakfast was warm staff were friendly place looked a little worn.
M. R. H.
One of my favourite pubs in Brighton. It's always full, but for a reason. Great prices, great food, really nice environment. Nice fish & chips
d. a.
How do they serve what they serve for that price is beyond me... superb value
C. M.
Classic style, open plan indoor seating, great prices as always. Was EXTREMELY packed on our visit on a Monday night however.
C. M.
Fabulous service fabulous food really pleasent staff really enjoyed pub lunch good value

S. P.
A nice large Weatherspoons pub. There are two levels and plenty of space. Good service from the team. We used the app to order over several hours and drinks were always perfect.
V. S.
Nice place for eat good food and warm
need more staff for serving tables busy place on raining days I and my family love this pub friendly staff and very friendly the chef always made extra mile to make our food very much more than you want this is my number one pub when I visit Brighton for sure
A. R.
You can't go wrong with a Wetherspoons meal, nice food in a nice setting.
V. B.
Breakfast not very hot and place tired but staff very good 👌
R. C.
This is a bog standard Weatherspoons. If you enjoy your weekend pub grub then this place is fantastic. Only one gripe where they forgot to bring out a portion of chips and a sauce but other than that very nice and easy experience and very covid compliant.
C. K.
Lots of choices. Staff very friendly. Great bar.
M. J.
Popped in with my Dad for cuppa and a bowl of chips, very friendly as usual, quick table service, very clean and adhering to all Covid19 regulations.
J. J.
Good value for a great pub atmosphere
P. N.
Pretty standard spoons offering but good bar service. Thank you team!
H. D.
Was extremely busy, the table we sat at still had the previous people's plates on it, Foods had to ask someone to come and clear it away. Food took about 20 minutes, food was ok, nothing special.
J. P.
Friendly staff and good swift service from the two people on duty.
s. b.
OK for a Wethers, needs a bit of tlc but staff were friendly and food, which was ordered via the app, arrived quickly.
B. B.
It's a spoons, the chips were hot, but it wasn't busy.
K. H.
Usual Good quality, Good prices and lively place.
J. S.
Ordered via app. Worked ok and did came quick. Nice location near the end of the lanes.
D. T.
As with all weatherspoons good value drinks.
D. M.
Really quick service and cheap prices. Quality was also good so no complaints from me. Didn't try the food but I'm sure that'd be just as good.
C. B.
one of the nicest burgers I've had in ages
G. G.
Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime and 2 door staff on which was a bit of a shock. Inside though it was better than expected. Had to wait a while to be served but £5 for a large morreti and a rose wine you can’t grumble.
If your looking for value don’t think you will find much better in the city centre. Didn’t eat but the food that came out looked fairly decent considering the prices.
Only bad point was the sticky tables.
G. B.
It's good place to go.But very busy to find a table.good choice of drinks. And the food look good.we didn't eat here today.we just called in for coffee.
J. P.
Wethersproons is the cheapest pubs in the UK every day the pubs are full
C. A.
Visited when staying in Brighton. Good breakfast and coffee. Location is ideal as it was near to the Premier Inn city centre hotel and just a few minutes walking distance. Plenty of seating area and allows you to order from the Wetherspoons mobile app. Recommend!
A. L.
Ok felt safe inspite of being busy but one thing I did notice was tables were not sanitised between users consistently. This could be easily spotted by a simple notice placed on tables saying awaiting cleaning do not use.
K. J.
This is one of the better spoons. Food was nice and freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and the area clean
A. D.
Again a fab Weatherspoons great wines and food at affordable prices
G. A.
Clean tables, fast service through the app, reasonably priced. Polite and friendly staff
I. F.
Good sized Wetherspoons located in a great central location. Large menu with good sized portions, and the food tastes pretty good. Very cheap also compared to most pubs.
You can also use the Wetherspoons app and get the food and drink delivered to your table without even having to go to the bar. Great service.
m. c.
Nice cosy spoons & not your usual typical style so for myself it makes it feel nicer as a unique pub instead of all looking the same.
J. “. V. A.
Noisy, too crowded, no screening, no COVID protection in place
M. M.
As with all good choice of food and drinks on offer. Helpfull friendly staff in a pleasant environment.
D. M.
Cheap Ales pub. Always very busy and hard to find a table. Pretty good value food and drink meal specials, with traditional dishes , like, fish & chips, burgers, jacket potatoes etc. Tradional style British pub feeling inside.
J. S.
Quick pint in here. Nice atmosphere.
A. L.
Cheap & delicious fast food
B. K.
Less than £11 for 2 breakfasts and endless mugs of tea. Excellent.
A. D.
You always know what you are getting in a Wetherspoons is value for money
A. P.
Always a laugh in here, good atmosphere, friendly bar staff, foods good, cheap drinks if your on a budget.
d. l.
Good quality Real ales and great atmosphere
A. R.
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
D. M.
Fantastic set up inside and feels like s lightly up market venue to your typical weatherspoons. Food all hot and served in a timely manner, with friendly employees.
Great place
S. G.
Central Brighton pub, part of the wetherspoons group, so reasonable priced drinks and good food menu. This building used to be a bank so surroundings spacious. Also you can use their app to order food n drink do you don't have to queue at the bar.
J. C.
Good prices for a good place in a good location. We chose not to eat there, it felt a bit too industrial food for us, otherwise, it's a big place where you can enjoy some time with friends, what else would you want?
A. G.
Nice cheap drink.
D. C.
Great service well run ..can't ask for anything more 😎
L. B.
A trusty Wetherspoons, you know what you’re going to get before you walk in the door, that’s why we all use them!!
This one was rather small but I only got to see the downstairs …
A. W.
It's a spoons. It is what it is
C. A.
Good old qeatherspoons, was busy but quick, professional service.
J. L.
A very pleasant weatherspoons
C.
Better spoons in town. Nuff said
W. K.
Good spoons busy. you know what you get at spoons.
M. G.
A Wetherspoons pub in a former bank building. The name comes from the local newspaper office which stood at number 55a and was presumably demolished to make way for the bank to be built, way back in the early 1900's. …
B. P.
We had breakfast their fora week also meals in the evening very nice.
T. D.
It's great for a reasonable priced drink when passing through town! Allways seems to be very busy - not bad at all.
B. K.
Wetherspoons covid precautions very good. Wish I could say same about app ordering. Had issues when in Eastbourne and same here. Partner eventually got it right but entered debit card, but app did not say until debit card details entered. Si had to use mine. App not that user friendly for second use. Maybe need more practice. Not that easy to update quantities if you over order.
M. H.
Such a great place to go with uni friends, good atmosphere, fairly cheap and central Brighton. What more could you ask for. Our main waitress was Charlie who offered really friendly chit chat and was very relatable. She was so friendly and made my friends and I feel so welcome that we stayed there pretty much all evening. Thanks Charlie, love your fun hair. :-D
m. l.
It was the first day of new restrictions & everything was organized as expected & done with good faith on greet, meet & service. 4 Star only because of slight loss of freedom due to gov rules, nothing to do with establishment or staff.
C. T.
Nice atmosphere, good selection of ales
M. B.
Quick food reasonable price good atmosphere. unusual place many different levels
V. J.
Nice local pub. Friendly staff and well priced drinks and food.
F. P.
Great food! Very busy but quickly served at bar. Get there early to get table if want to eat early evening.
D. B.
Impressive venue with the typical good value. Has two floors and lots of seating. Service is good as well.
J. R.
Neck tattooed girl really sweet and nice service
S. Q.
Always Croweded Always will be. You wont find a better selection of bottled ice cold Beers anywhere locally except another Wetherspoons. Yes it's a Wetherspoons buts it's a Very inexpensive pub for those that like a drink.
S. T.
Good quality wetherspoons if you can get a seat. Food was excellent and always busy
G. H.
It's a busy lively city center pub.
T. 2.
Good value. Friendly staff.
S. B.
Good place to visit food choice drinks choice all good prices nice place to spend some time at
V. B.
Another best of JD Wetherspoon at Brighton North Street at a nice building amongst busy city centre. It’s very close to Royal Pavilion and huge place to sit in. Gets too busy on weekends but the food and service is good as usual.
Multiple seating options like ground level, mid balcony and top balcony. Great place for breakfast or lunch or drink stop over while exploring Brighton.
A. F.
It's a spoons. But as they go the interior is pretty nice! No smoking area (just out front). Tables are really hard to get so usually have to stand in the evening. Staff are stressed, as per, but usually helpful.
D. H.
Good meals and very reasonable prices around £8 -10 with a drink included, service was fast even when they were packed at Xmas. Definitely recommend using their app to order, you can go in find a table and order pay online and drinks then food turns up very quickly normally 10 mins or so and no queuing :-)
L. M.
Nice food
Busy atmosphere
Á. Ö.
Nice food, very good prices but sticky tables. Alltogether a good pub for low budget chill out.
P. G.
Always great food, been here three times in the conference week (Sunday to Wednesday). Would recommend for a quick bite, a family meal or just a night out. Cosy but quite busy. No background music playing though.
A. R.
Busy pub but you are guaranteed a decent meal and drink. Best pub prices of any Brighton pub. Large venue with plenty of seating and a good mix of young and older people.
D. S.
Witherspoon always spot on for good and good value food and drink. Enjoyed it a lot.
A. E.
Unsure about this one to be honest.
It's a spoons and they're all very similar.
My friend went to the toilet here and there was poo on the floor though so only 3 stars for me. Plus spoons pubs never play music and this one doesn't play sport.
M. C.
I love Wetherspoons, so maybe I'm not the best person to give an Egon Renay review, but table service, a lovely meal and a pint for £13 - how can that be beaten? Lamb shank - delicious, fruit salad - delightful, and all washed down with Hop House 13 - a very tasty lager.
H. W.
One of the better whetherspoons that I've visited, wish they were all like this one. Would recommend
L. B.
Extremely busy, as Bank Holiday weekend, only 2 waiting staff on duty. Had to wait longer than usual in a wetherspoon but both staff were visible and working their socks off, well done.
S. a.
Very good friendly and warm customer service. Everything we ordered was served exceptionally fast
R. M.
Good food &ales meal deals excellent service,&prices
A. C.
I like this place because what's not like it's cheap drinks there's lots of seats and table service. with the app which is much faster than going up to the bar
C. B.
Nice place but not enough seats at times. Staff work hard but struggle to tidy up due to demand and staff shortage
J. B.
Best one ive ever been to in uk. There taking corona virus track and trace seriously and still managing to provide a great service. A complete contrast to the other weatherspoon up the road. The post and telegraph is a perfect example of what weatherspoons should be.
J. P.
One of the better Wetherspoons I've encountered. All the usual favourites are here as you'd expect. Toilets are upstairs, but there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Honest pub food with some nights dedicated to a food theme. Pleasant place to relax in.
A. G.
Nice food and good location. But very busy. Sometimes hard to get a table.
A. A.
Part of the cheapo chain but bit nicer. Friendly service mostly. Plug ins at some spots. Needs a few teas selection as advertised but didnt have. Pizza was ok.
Great location.
A. P.
Had a baked potato generously filled with roasted vegetables and unlimited coffee, just £4.80 great service and ordered using my Wetherspoons app. Such a lovely building. You cannot beat Wetherspoons for quality and value.
L. L.
good pub for a proper session

Quite good another Wetherspoons in Brighton
A. L.
It was the first time I was there and I was surprised: it's a nice pub , a nice place with good prices. Good for a night out with friends! I recommend for everyone how wants to have fun!
S. P.
We just left the weatherspoon pub the bright helm as we waited over 20 mins for our drink and thought it was worth trying this pub. For the same order ordered the same way only 3 minutes and the pub is busier. Plus staff have great attitude.
This is the different a great manager and floor team makes on its customers.
And yes slightly sad I timed the order but was so infuriated at the last weatherspoons I wanted to see how it compared.
If you have a choice it’s this pub all day every day.
G. B.
Always busy retro style pub in excellent location lovely food great friendly staff
D. D. R.
I love a Weatherspoon restaurant.
I am always feeling welcomed in this one especially. I have had some bad experience in other ones but this one in Brighton is just perfect.
I always enjoy my Original Gourmet burger, which actually is the best burger in town and I always look forward to going back for more
D. V.
A lovely pub in the middle of Brighton. It's pretty and clean inside, the service is good and fast and the food a beer is great! I've been there many times and will be going again!
f.
Quick pit stop, served quickly with no issues
R. D.
Very nice place to eat and drink and very friendly staff as well
M. D.
Dirty stinky ugly place...sorry but breakfast hunger was górę away...
S. P.
Me and my friend were in brighton on sunday shopping and we decided have our dinner in tge post and telegraph my friend had fish and chips and i had the large chicken strips chips and pot of sauce. It was very busy too.
D. A.
Good food served quickly both meals very good staff friendly and helpful
u.
Standard wetherspoons. Enjoyed a couple of cheap drinks and decent food, however the atmosphere was ruined by bouncers pacing back and forth looking for a problem before it was even 9pm, which isn't really an environment I want to sit and eat in. I was ID'd upon entering which obviously I was fine with (apart from the fact I could see there were families with young children inside, so I was slightly confused as to why I would need to be ID'd), but then I was asked for ID a further two times, once while I was already sat down inside, then again by the same bouncer who ID'd me upon entering when I went outside for a couple of minutes to smoke, seeing as there is no designated smoking area. They made me want to finish my food and drink as quickly as possible so that I could leave because it just felt generally uncomfortable.
T. D.
Food good, although bar staff need more training on what they are selling. Very crowded
r. m.
I go in for breakfast and it is always cooked to perfection. The staff are all lovely and I feel at home there. I would definitely recommend it for a visit
A. F.
Exactly what you expect from this chain restaurant and bar.
Good food and drink at a reasonable price
b. c.
Love the food good staff and service bit of a pain that the toilets are up stairs
A. B.
Fantastic Day out
C. M.
It's a spoons what do you expect stop reading the reviews
R. V.
well organised, moderated and busy bar and restaurant. Service was prompt according to a popular Friday venue and the food was delicious.
L. H.
only stopped for a coffee. but was fine
P. R.
Can't fault this wetherspoons. Staff polite and helpful. 6 visits in 6 days at different times and never a problem. Disabled toilets clean and tidy for a busy pub so really impressed
D. W.
Yet again another great experience in a wetherspoons pub good service friendly staff.
L. B.
It's a spoons but as far as they go it's a nice one. Good food and drink for cheap, could do with more seating though.
A. F.
Great place to have lunch, they have very nice menu and great deals. Only minus side is that usually something is little bit wrong with the food - last time my burger was completely burned to the coals. They replaced the dish very quickly and staff is always nice and helpful.
N. S.
Nice place too eat. Drinks and food a reasonable price. Always busy at time's. Try going upstairs too find a table when you arrive. And use there app.
R. W.
Great cheap menu and a drinks. Great selection of drinks and variety of food on menu. Each pub got different feel to it. Friendly helpfully relaxed staff. My favorite chain of pubs in UK. Plus they introduced they own app. Clean.
m. c.
Nothing to say by me. It's a spoons. 👍👍👍👍
C. S.
Couldn't pay with card but good service
H. F.
Typical Wetherspoons
i.
It's a spoons
Have my babies Tim Martin
A. L.
Ok felt safe inspite of being busy but one thing I did notice was tables were not sanitised between users consistently. This could be easily spotted by a simple notice placed on tables saying awaiting cleaning do not use.
D. W.
Weatherspoons say no more
B. D.
Absolutely fantastic food. Better than both the Marina and Churchil square Wetherspoons. Customer service is amazing with a fun and inviting atmosphere. Thanks for a lovely evening!
P. S.
Great place to meet up with friends, friendly and helpful staff. Always a good selection of special ales and guest beers.
The food is always spot on and best of all its not going to break the bank.
A. G.
Great atmosphere
A. F.
I agree with the criticisms expressed by some of the negative reviews; it is a Brighton freakshow. However, the staff work very hard against all of these formidable obstacles to make you happy.
I recommend the upstairs seating during the quiet times.
Plus, the building is a beautiful classic.
G. H.
A great pub but counter service poor wzit forever to be served then member of staff locked till and walked off not good
s. p.
Service was great, staff friendly and food was lovely......well worth it! 🙃
R. D.
Is what it is but great for a weatherspoon. Best weatherspoon I have been in. Cheap drinks and cheap food
C. S.
Always a busy pub/restaurant with friendly staff with great value weatherspoon food and drink.
T. R.
Very busy, could do with a good clean in some areas. Good food, good service at a fair price.
J. C. S.
The best British pub for British workers. Great selection of home grown ales and largers, and the most delicious chicken burger I ever done ate this side of Tennessee. Respect that Tim Martin is a heroic warrior against the EUSSR and their destruction of our nation.
A. B.
Less than average food, ok ale selection, venue looks like a working man's club and is frequented by aging alcoholics and skint early twentysomethings.
Don't go here expecting anything more than the standard, corporate, wetherspoons experience.
H. S.
Good selection of food. Can be busy and hard to find table. Friendly staff. Beautiful architecture. Cant comment on alcohol, go for food.
W. S.
Great prices as usual for Spoons. £8 something for 2 double g and t's. Paid £12 for two singles in a nearby pub. Would be nearly 3x the price.
C. H.
Good Value - Breakfast good quality for less than £6! Would recommend
G. M. V.
quite nice but mainly quite cheap, food is same as all the other whetherspoons (how do they manage that?). sometimes gets quite busy and you can't sit anywhere - could do with more chairs
N. M.
Very good Guinness and a very reasonable price we felt very safe sitting in there
D. P.
We allways enjoy our meal there staff are good to
H.
Called in for lunch, a very busy pub but managed to find a table. It did not take too long for the food to arrive and it was nice and hot, typically good value from Wetherspoons. Howard
K. G.
Not the best example of whetherspoons. But due to the pandemic, I don't think its as good as it could be. But its adequate for a cheap meal. Limited range of drinks
M. B.
Very busy but nice lol
J. E.
Went in on a Saturday night in Oct visiting a member of my family. Service good, drinks good value. Didn't eat on this occasion.. getting a seat was tricky as it was a very popular venue. Would return and would eat there when wanting a quick cheap meal or breakfast.
R. T.
Nice pub, typical wetherspoons, good food, not too busy during day, nice variety of beer.
c. z.
Quick service. Some food arrived lukewarm which was disappointing. Corrected swiftly though. Burger average but what you'd expect from a wetherspoons.
N. W.
Only fun for people when accompanied by myself. Good prices. Not bad. 99% would recommend.
R. W.
Great cheap menu and a drinks. Great selection of drinks and variety of food on menu. Each pub got different feel to it. Friendly helpfully relaxed staff. My favorite chain of pubs in UK. Plus they introduced they own app. Clean.
U. K.
very good place lively and well located. I definitely recommend it to spend time with friends and have a great time
N. W.
The better of the two Brighton Wetherspoons. Has a good selection of alcohol and decent food. Can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday of course.
A. N. P. L.
New Pizza's menu is amazing. I love it. I jist tried one and It was amazing. Plenty of place are expensive than this and have a really poor quality. I would like to congrats for that kind of offer. 😁
E. G. S.
No music but nice place to chat
T. O.
Lovely place with good coffee and good food. THE place for a proper English breakfast
A. E.
Very quick service and good value
M. R.
This place is brilliant for the whole family, good food and drinks are cheep
S. P.
Great place to eat when you have been shopping in brighton
H. H.
theres a roof top terrance bit here that no one really knows about but it bangs. at least an 11/10, good atmosphere and a solid place for a chat.
P. P.
Fantastic building with the usual level of food and drink. Fascinating place to people watch by the way!
T.
Always good service and find beer at sensible prices
H. M.
Pretty nice place for a meal and even drinks are served if you fancy that. Lovely food. What more can i say
J. S.
It was very busy so there was a long wait for food. Good drinks.
A. G.
Great big building and good food in typical wetherspoon fashion. Ordered using the app to the table for the first time, was so good and easy. Food as always was good quality and hot. Didn't have to wait long either. Very central so not far to shops and lanes.
S. G.
Nice and cheap but they got my daughter's meal wrong and asked several times was I sure I didn't order what they brought over
L.
Always busy sometimes difficult to get a table great value for money ,great food and service is always friendly and quick
J. M.
Much busier than the marina site, but that is to be expected. Not always guaranteed a seat, but same fun atmosphere and cheaper drinks prices than most places in Brighton.
J. H.
This is the BEST wetherspoon I have been to. Great food. I mean so good. The staff are lovely friendly and very polite. Especially the women that collects plates and serve the food. Just a great place to come.
C. D.
Like most wetherspoons, great staff and good food and drinks to go with the meal
T. M.
Very well organised for corona virus protection, perspect screens between tables and only half the usual amount of tables
S. L.
Busy place with the usual great selection of real ales, unbelievable value for money
P. H.
Good service friendly staff. Good place for a few beers before the football game. Home and away fans welcome no trouble 👍👍🍺🍺
T. R.
Just what you expect from a Wetherspoon. Reasonably priced drinks and food, passsable. Our waiter was attentive. Would definitely revisit.
D.
Standard weatherspoons. The lady who brought the food was really smiley. Would have gone 4 or 5 stars but two skanky wenches who had obviously hadn't slept decided to approach our table as we were having breakfast. One quite manly, one relatively feminine, both were a mess. I don't blame the staff for not stopping them making a scene. Both wenches returned to the gutters from once they came after about 15 minutes. Also the Quorn sausages were rather good.
A.
A very nice Wetherspoons, especially if you order on the app your food and drinks are brought to your table. Friendly staff, and incredibly value for money.
J. A.
Not the worst Wetherspoons, no Vodafone reception so app didn't work, had to walk all the way to the bar! Haha
A. O.
The poached eggs on the miner's Benedict were hard - do like the concept of eggs Benedict with black pudding instead of ham or salmon. Also love the endless coffee
J. C.
It is always ridiculously busy in here of an evening which makes it hard to find a seat and hard to hear friends. The food and drink and reasonably priced and the food tastes fairly good, but it's popularity is the main reason I don't visit often.
p. h.
Great busy and typical Wetherspoons. Food good. Nice upstairs area for seating. Well worth a visit.
S. H.
Two weatherspoons in Brighton, this is the one you want. More space good food and aircon which is a must in the heat. Walked in the other one first and left before getting a drink as it was far, far too hot and stuffy.
H. B.
Plenty of seating. As always food was good and great value. The service was friendly and efficient.
p. g.
All the time so busy.
.
L. G.
Usually good ,but walked out.only one person behind the bar to take orders, we were going to have to wait to long
S. H.
Very comfortable and pleasant surroundings ,I had breakfast there with a friend which was really good value plus the hot chocolate allowed me to have 2 more free re fills
Ł. S.
Good pizza. The place needs some cleaning but what you expect if everything there is so cheap. Steel recommended.
K. L.
Good real ale to be had in a good location
P. L.
Another good whetherspoon pub
M. G.
It's a Wetherspoons. Good value food, good beers, friendly happy staff. In a nice environment. What else can one add?
D. D.
The service was pretty good apart from slightly burnt food it was really good
C. A.
Good old qeatherspoons, was busy but quick, professional service.
S. G.
The Post and Telegraph is a Wetherspoons, do it was decent nothing more. However the pizza was superb, but the toilets were horrific, try and use disabled ones if poss
C. L.
Like that you can have a good meal and a drink and it dose cost to much for a family and friends it would be nice if than did a roast dinner on Sunday
A. H.
Too busy for my liking
V. C.
Great customer service. The bar girl was so lovely, welcoming and helpful.
Quite a large pub and decent. Prices are always great. £3 something for a pint of Punk Ipa!
G. N.
Great place for meeting up with friends, very near city shopping centre
F. B.
Good place for food, drinks & atmosphere 😃
a. b.
Well trained staff quality food always trying to improve on quality and price
D. M. T.
All good pub with great value for money and staff
R. M.
The place is spacious and airy like most of Wheatherspoons. The food taste the same like in other chain branches which is very good. The pub is in the walking distance to the beach and Brighton Pier.
N. L.
Busy. Clean, very good compared to some 'Spoons I've been in
P. M.
It's a Weatherspoons
They can't cook a Rare Steak to save their life
Food is OK average at best but good for what it is
J. M.
Always fantastic. Get a food deal. Good beer. Use the app to order simples.
I. M.
Clean friendly bar.. value for money
W. W.
Its a spoons toy get what you expect. Nice layout and very central. Got a open staircase to the second floor/balcony which is pretty nice. Can normally find a seat and it never takes long to be served
E. E.
Food is good but waitress staff spoil the experience all we wanted was some salt. There wasn't any on the condiment shelves asked for salt and pepper 3 times 3rd time informed they have salt in the kitchen but that was it still not allowed to use it apparently
P. “. c.
Standered weatherspoons what more can I say
A. R.
Really nicely done up and clean, which is not always the case with Wetherspoons. Very popular and lots of seating.
L.
Great staff and excellent service. Couldn't fault the place at all the West Quay weatherspoons could learn a lot from this pub.
G. B.
Nice enough pub. You know what to expect from a Weatherspoons and this is no different; cheap and cheerful
T. M.
A typical pub, with different souls. It comprends also the features of restaurant', cafe and tea room. A good place for chatting and having fun with friends. In the end, is also very cheap.
O. D.
Was let in on a night when people left but there were no tables
L. H.
Cheap and cheerful for girls night out before eating somewhere else. Although the spoons food is very good !
d. l.
Beautiful place, tasty food, nice prices
M. D.
Good when you get to sit down away from the cracKed's outside
s.
Bustling atmosphere . Usually busy . Efficient staff . Beers and ciders always in top condition when I've visited . My favourite Brighton pub .
C. B.
It's a spoons big old building serving a decent range of beers at cheap prices. Like most spoons there is little atmosphere to the place.
J. P.
Used the order and pay app. Brilliant, drink then food order brought to the table. Fab when dining on my own. Can't fault the food or service.
M. G.
Good for cheap drinks with friends, great atmosphere!
A. A.
Lovely place, very kind staff and the upstairs... Amazing
g.
Lovely breakfast as always. Good beer too. Reasonably priced
J. M.
One of the best spoons I've been to. Fast service and an excellent selection of real ales
A. D. W.
Wetherspoon on North Street. This pub has an upstairs as well as ground floor, but gets very busy - even on weekdays. Its a good place for a cheap meal and a drink with free wifi access.
S. T.
Usual quality Weatherspoons breakfast had to have filtered coffee as other coffee machine was broken, but that was actually ok, clean and tables cleared quickly, like other spoons has its regular customer drinking early doors
A. D. J.
Nice atmosphere, nice food and not expensive)
K.
Thursday's curry club was good very good value with a pint included i had a vindaloo very nice with all trimmings. Nice pub.
A. W.
ordered via app, was very easy to do. food was lovely.
R. B.
Busy busy busy on a Saturday afternoon. The pub had no app working when we visited and tables had no been cleaned of glasses for hours. I did like the multiple floors the building had.
P. L.
Large Weatherspoons interesting interior like an old mansion with large staircase and portraits. Good selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices.
I. D.
Good prices but bar staff slow.
V. B.
Found this hidden Weatherspoons whilst reminising in Brighton. This lady can spot a Weatherspoons spoon in the window a mile off! Amazing building that alone is worth the visit. Just drinks but quick and friendly service
I. W.
Good spoons. Good food. Massive wait in the afternoon. Good starter in the evening.
C.
Great beer and drink selection, no TV which makes it really good for socialising, nice spirt about the place, well situated in Brighton, great opening hour's, polite and friendly staff. Nice selection of food.
L. H.
Nice place cheap and cheerful
H. T.
Not my favourite Spoons, but mostly because the clientele is a little more rough and ready! Usually busy. Still good value.
D. m.
Classic Wetherspoons menu. Same beer etc. you find at every other 'spoons with a couple of local ales.
Food I ordered wasn't available at the time but they asked what I wanted instead, cooked it very quickly and brought it out. Tasted fine and filled a hole.
Good decor all round and plenty of space for its busy location. It was pretty busy when I got there (a Friday afternoon) so I imagine it gets a lot busier come the evening.
T. L.
It can be hard to get a seat in here, there isn't much light and the layout reminds me of a 1970s working mens club.
However a decent range of food (even some vegan options) that is very cheap and staff are friendly.
J. D.
Very good service. Spacious. Typical wethrrspoons food but the presentation was very very good. The egg bases breakfasts looked wonderful.
A. A.
Very good and cheap dishes. Great place.
R. W.
Low cost quality food and drink, quick friendly service and the proprieter, Tim Martin is a Brexiteer
Their fish and chips plus Punk IPA are excellent!
D. B.
Great food and drinks at good prices
j. m.
Good food good prices served quick
E. R.
Typical heaving wetherspoons but the difference between it and some other wetherspoons is its well ran with efficient staff always friendly as they endeavour to serve and keep tidy.
A regular stop for us when in Brighton.
M. F.
Good food and drink at reasonable prices.
P. G.
Very busy but the staff were super fast. Friendly and helpful
D. G.
Good drinks and food. Lovely venue inside.
T. S.
Please replace the missing letters in your sign
s. b.
If you’re look for a cheap drink then go here, the only issue I have is that they do not have enough staff and they run out of certain beer often.
j. d.
Can’t beat the service and price.
K. W.
Love all wetherspoons establishments good value for money although being it was a very warm sunny February and the Wales v England rugby was on the big screen it was extremely busy so no seating available . Still enjoyed it and had a good time in a good atmosphere
N. P.
Can't comment on food busy and tidy atmosphere
D. R.
Very busy but reasonable service. Food was reasonably presented.
R. J.
Affordable and good for pre drinks. I recommend the rhubarb and ginger g+t. So yummy and cheap! Could do with music!
A. A.
Nice pub good selection of drinks
A. W.
It's a weatherspoons which granted brings consistency but also people who order ale at 9am. The bar staff where very friendly though.
A. D.
Breakfast wasn't very hot, waitress was, what more can I say.
S. W.
In a good location, good food, and a wide range of drinks,
C. E.
Very nice food and child friendly,There's a children's menu too
m. w.
Cheap pub with a good atmosphere but not many seats
A. W. (.
Plenty of seating though I would like to see tables cleared as soon as possible to allow other people to sit at tables not sitting with dirty dishes etc on them.
G. C.
very very good food, nothink to much troble for the staff, also very clean with nice Interior and decor.
J. M.
The better wetherspoons in this town
J. B.
I was in having drink with friends when i was approached and attacked inside the pub mid afternoon at the wkend towards the end of the world cup this should not have happened and was due to shortage of Wetherspoons staff and no door staff this has left me traumatised my anxiety is running high i am still waiting for an apology from wetherspoons and i am currently barred from this public house as a result thank you Mr Wetherspoons for the trauma i am suffering
S. R.
Great location.Good service. Fish n Chips was lovely, comes with a drink for an amazing price! Will definitely visit again.
A. W.
I went to this wetherspoons for the first time yesterday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Had a chicken jalfrezi & beer. Pub was very busy, nice atmosphere. Will go again when I'm in Brighton.
L. C.
Very reasonable prices for food and drink. Plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy your food.
Nice and clean. Best Wetherspoons in Brighton
