We visited earlier today and had a meal just after lunchtime. We were so full afterwards we had no evening meal! Generous portions served in a timely fashion by wonderful staff. The menu was reasonably priced and we will definitely be going back one day!

Small cozy place at North Lane in Brighton. We had Sunday roast with lamb amd pork due to they run out of with beef. Yet it was delicious. I definitely believe beef roast also would be delicious.

I’ve been coming here for many years and i love the pub and staff and the clientele, but just recently I’m finding it hard to get harveys best. I get it from another 2 pubs, no problem; so why not here? I’m not the only one who’s complaining.

Lovely pub, enjoyed our outdoor seating in the center of Brighton minutes from anywhere you'd reasonably want to go to. Bartender was very polite and friendly. Only drawback I could think of was the beer selection, a few nice beers but really the same 6 on tap that you'd find in 99% of pubs.

During our stay in Brighton we have called here a few times for a drink, then lunch. A proper pub with lovely staff and a great view for people watching! Tonight we ate here. Lancashire Hotpot was superb, as was steak and ale pie, and salmon fishcakes. Excellent value for money.

My family have been using this charming pub for years I went with Uncle Clive and we had lunch !it was delicious ! Lovely staff funny and kind ! A comfy favourite !

The bars were very busy so we were given the option of dining upstairs which was very pleasant. The gentlemen who served us was extremely polite, helpful & professional not only to us but all the customers. Drinks were duly recommended and served whilst we choose from the varied food menu. Didn't have to wait too long before the meals were served. The food quality was very good with generous portions. Certainly a venue we would recommend!

Nice pub, we went there for a drink before our meal. As soon as I saw it on the board We ordered a Negroni without thinking twice. Shame that We received a “shot of negroni” for 7.50. I wouldn’t be disappointed to pay more for an actual glass of Negroni. But I think is a bit tricky to have it on the same board with Pimm’s and Aperol spritz - with no prices. People is free to guess a price or a size and then might ended up be disappointed - like we did. No big deal real but the point is that a price and a size or a description of content would be good for “transparency” :) thank u :)

The bar staff at this venue were absolutely lovely. We were in Brighton for 4 days but went twice to the pub. Lovely food, fast service and buzzy atmosphere. We had the Hunters chicken which came with a delicious salad, probably stuff I'd not have eaten normally, but it was fab. Still a good place to go, and well managed to cover Covid restrictions. Great venue.

Friday afternoon, not much choice regarding hand pulled beer. Food OK but nothing special. Bill showed service charge, not sure about also adding gratuity on the card machine when it was time to pay, so paid the service charge only. Is it normal for both? not sure I've see this before.

Great little find, couple of drinks and excellent lunch, staff were great

Great evening. The people serving us were all incredibly friendly and genuinely wanting us to have a good evening. We had the Calamari which was nice and not the frozen type, then I had a chicken pie which was super yummy and really great mash that came along with it. Unfortunately the vegetables were a little lacklustre, but oh well. My husband had the steak which was nicely grilled but could have done with a salad on the side (to be fair the menu didn't mention anything about a salad, just my opinion). But as I said previously the staff was really attentive, bringing us extra gravy without us even asking for example... Really good! The desserts were both super tasty, not one thing that could have been better. And to top it off everything was reasonably priced too. Great job!

Went in the Monday before lockdown and very disappointed with the food, I had the macaroni which I think quality control should look at again it was hunt the macaroni. I spoke to lady about it and she said that's how it comes from the packet. For 9.00 very small serving would not be enough for a man. My husband had the burger which was nothing special for 11.00 while everyone is looking for trade this company needs to up standards on quality of food

Decent selection of beers, landlady was pleasant but the table service we got was not the greatest, indeed our server was borderline disinterested which is a shame as it was a decent boozer. Toilets were clean too.

Food was cold when arrived on the table. Beef burger tasted strange. Cold cheese was slapped on both beef and chicken burgers. When I order a cheese burger I expect to see melted cheese on my burger! Burger buns also looked and tasted like they’re from a few days ago. Fish and chips however was ok, hence the 4 star.

This place is the dogs doodars... Food was fantastic and the staff treated us like royalty. We were allowed to take the dog in and when we booked a table for food there was a place set for our pooch with water and doggie biscuits waiting for him. Despite its tourist trap location this is a good pub. Decent range of well kept cask ales and the interior decor has character with comfortable seating. Food menu is standard fare but good. Very busy on weekends, you might run into a few Hen parties.
