It's an ok pub; friendly staff, prices are high for the food quality, WiFi availability. The Vimto burger was intriguing to look at....taste wise I wouldn't order again.

Good value food and drink. large car park with disability parking spaces.Everything on ground level. Animal friendly/water bowl at the rear entrance, Outside seating, Access to free ice water on the bar. five meals was order with a short waiting time and was delivered and came out within minutes of eachother.

Recently started popping in for a pint & wine with snacks, and the team are very welcoming. Food has been great and cant fault it as its got a wide range on the menu to cover the majority of tastes. Family friendly although also caters for sports in another area of the pub. It can get loud at times although thats just customers enjoying themselves - its becoming our friendly local👍

Enjoyed a nice pint of Birra Moretti Larger with my evening meal at the Brunel on Saturday evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the American Sizzler 8oz Steak served with 2 Fried Eggs and 5 Hash Brown's. Cooked to perfection and served piping hot. Both the Bar staff and young lady serving our table were friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Brunel in St John's Lane, Bedminster for good food and value for money.

Went in for food to only be told 20 mins later that they wasn't serving food due to issues with there tills then said if we wanted pudding instead of food they could sort that out also ladies toilets been out of order for days other than this particular issue other visits have been really good

Just visited for the festive menu with a party of 9. I cannot fault this place atall, the food was lovely and staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them to accommodate you. The Brunel is a lovely pub to be in, the staff are excellent and quick to serve and the customer service I can’t fault in any way, Gina the manager really has made the pub feel so welcoming and friendly the Christmas decorations look fantastic and you can really tell they’ve taken the time and effort in putting them up, the food is amazing and reasonably priced, there’s a large selection of alcohol to choose from more than most pubs ive been in. I’ve had many decent nights in the pub especially when karaoke/discos are on it’s nice to see everyone enjoying themselves around you. Will always return to this place as it is at the top of my list for being one of the greatest pubs in the area and the team should be proud of what they have achieved if you’re in the area I highly recommend checking out the Brunel and hope you enjoy your time there as much as I have.

Food was nice service was nice , although I was a bit annoyed with the man that served at the bar my daughter went to bar with my friend to order drinks , he took 1 drink order off my daughter which was an alcoholic drink, then my friend asked for 2 more alcoholic drinks he realised 1 must of been for my daughter who is 18 , he asked her for id she didn't have it with her, so obviously she wasn't allowed the drink , which I get he is quite within his rights to do so , then my other friend went to bar to order our food and asked for a pint of thatchers he then asked is that for the girl she replied no and he said of I see her drinking it I will take it off her ,m y friend replied well she is 18 to which he said I dont know that do I, like I said I understand but I didnt like his attitude im her mother and I was there so I have no reason to lie about her age as I said there are ways of speaking to people

Upon arrival was shown to a table and advised we would need to vacate at a certain time as we hadn't booked. No problem Ordered on the app and food came not long after. The next time my partner could eat after our visit on the Wednesday was the following Sunday due to food not agreeing with him!!! Was not very well at all ! The food is alright casual pub grub! It gets super busy but it's nice to visit and an easy walk for many living in Bedminster! There's deals everyday of the week so plenty to save money on too!

As a hungry horse chain it has the expected huge menu which is very useful to feed an array of people. With a wide selection it's more difficult to pick than find something which isn't a bad problem to have. I ordered the burger sizzler combo which is new to this pub, the food wasn't too long a wait and was hot on arrival. The portions are very good so it's easy to fill yourself up on a budget. For a double burger with fries and a steak with 5 chicken wings on a skillet with peppers and onions it's £10 so great value. It's a busy pub so getting to the bar is a slight wait but no complaints here and the new layout makes it nice and modern in here. The staff we dealt with were friendly and there is ample parking on site. We'll definitely be going back in the future just for the case of use.

We had to wait over an hour and a half before we were served with a lukewarm, Sunday dinner! The pub was busy and we were warned that we would have to wait, but the family on the table next to us ended up eating dinner at different times to one another! One was served and completed his meal before anyone else in the group got anything at all, not good when you are out for a family meal. The food was actually really tasty and the portions were of a decent size, the vegetables were fresh and not over cooked and the roast beef was excellent. It was just a shame it was barely warm, but after waiting 90 minutes for it, we ate it a rapid rate! As for the pub itself, the place was clean and well kept and there was apart was a good, friendly atmosphere. The only thing I did find very annoying, was the table layout. Too many tables have been crammed in and the access to the toilets was pretty much cut off, meaning we were constantly asked to move or just bumped into by people going to use the pubs toilets! A few little changes could make this pub so much better, I would still go back but maybe at a time that was less busy.

I like the pub, the staff are lovely. But my mother-in-law and I opted for the steak pie today, and it was awful. It looks good, but the pastry case was hard to get into. Mine was barely warm enough inside, hers was piping hot. The base of hers was inedible, so hard, mine was partially inedible. We will definitely be going back to The Brunel, but we will definitely be avoiding the pies.

Struggling to find the battered halloumi and chips meal in pub now days but luckily this place had it! Plus there’s a new app where you can pay and order food and even drinks directly to your table without queuing. It’s a great addition and everything came as expected. It even tells you what drinks are sold out (in our case it was a flavoured cola). Lovely atmosphere with a bus stop outside makes travelling without car so easy. Will definitely come back as staff were so polite and helpful. The food was perfect, probably the best battered halloumi we had.

Just placed three stars by accident deserves nothing. Two awful experiences member of staff can not deal with a customer suggestion nor treat customer with a calm manner dispite the fact u was correct. Should not be doing the job if you can not deal with customers end of. Do not come to this pub and for heavens sake don't make a complaint. Toilet seats missing and falling off, toilet roll holders missing from the wall, not good for restaurant toilets, that's in the ladies. The men's need neutralising smellys, the men's toilets only have one urinal out of two in use and they stink.
