Friendly staff and good service. Dirty fries were good, the rest was average but enjoyable. Desserts looked great! Nice decor, clean and good space for children or to enjoy the outdoors, in the beer garden at the rear.

Had a great time with tasty food. The roast was great, so were the sides. Personnel was nice, they checked with us if everything is okay and we didn't need to wait at all to be noticed when we were ready to pay. The building is nice.

Very welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. High quality food with sensibly priced wine. Deserts and delicious and we often end up over-eating. Based on the hard work and effort Jen and her staff put in this pub is more popular than ever. We have several good quality local pubs to pick from and the Codrington is always on our preferred list.

Nice little pub, flat ceiling so sounds noisy while sat down. Went for a Sunday roast which was lovely, took awhile to be served the courses, busy on the day & lack of kitchen staff was the reason. But the roast was worth the wait & we left feeling full, bar staff friendly & helpful, dog friendly too.

Had the roast turkey - the veg was slightly undercooked so was a bit too crunchy (carrots & cabbage) and the roast altogether could probably do with a few more flavourful veg, and maybe some stuffing. yorkshire pudding was really nice though and cannot fault the turkey itself. service was good and a nice atmosphere.

Lovely friendly pub/Restaurant. We were at the pub for a 90th Birthday party. Which had put on a wonderful cream tea for around 40 people. This was very well done , thankyou.

Excellent Meal, accommodating even at Sunday 12:30 lunchtime! We were a party of 5, we all had roasts, Gammon, Turkey and Beef options all enjoyed! Staff were friendly. Our Pug enjoyed his visit too! Lovely! Staff are always so welcoming and can't do enough for you. They seem a little understaffed, so there isn't always someone around to help especially if you're in one of the far tables outside but I'm sure that'll get easier once we're allowed to sit inside again. Love that they always have a tasty vegan/veggie option for their roasts. Portions are massive! Love it there 🌟

Booked a table in the snug and even with the rain was a nice dry experience, they even provide little blankets which was a great personal touch. We had the chicken burger and the cod classic burger upgraded dirty fries and garlic bread, food was amazing. Drinks were not so great had hot chocolate which was not very nice and didn't get the marshmallows even after asking for them a 2nd time. Staff were friendly and dining area was clean only suggestion would be to extend the roof back to the wall as the rain water ran off the roof onto our table. All in all this was the 3rd time we have been there 1st since lockdown and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great effort to accommodate during these tough times and great food always.

Had a nice lunch here, fish finger ciabatta with salad, it was quite tasty but disappointing that the fish fingers were minced fish cheap fingers, not fillet flakes fish fingers, which I would expect. Please upgrade your fish fingers. Service was good, quick and polite.

Just had our second take away delivered since this current lock down began all I can say is excellent. Brilliant value for money the food arrived within 5 mins of our chosen time and it was hot & delicious. We have had the hunters chicken, Burger & Scampi all excellent and the vanilla cheesecake lovely. I cannot recommend it enough

There was 6 of us booked at 7 last Saturday evening, the service was excellent and the food was too. My chicken wings were probably the best I have had, everyone loved thier food and I can't fault anything. Will be going back, hope they can weather these difficult times, it's nice to eat at a pub which is not part of a chain and prepares their own food.

I went there today with a friend for a lunchtime snack. I had Scampi and chips and she had the Spicy Bean Burger with chips. Both our meals were excellent and the chips were quite possibly the best chunky chips I have had ! The portions were decent with my friend not being able to finish her chips . Definitely would go again . The staff were pleasant , efficient and the premises were lovely and clean. Good quality napkins on the tables. The prices were very reasonable, I had an enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Awesome takeaway Sunday roast with proper gravy a small detail that makes all the difference. Veg was perfect as was the Yorkshire pudding. I had lemon meringue for dessert. It was definitely homemade and was to die for. My only regret was only ordering one portion. Ordering was straight forward. A quick call to place my order on Saturday evening. I opted to pay online which was very easy. I arrived at the agreed time, picked up my order, and headed home in the space of a few minutes. A Sunday roast takeway is definitely going to be a regular thing from now on.

We saw a photo of their Ploughman's earlier this week and were looking forward to ordering one. Well, it didn't disappoint! It has to be the best ploughman's I've ever had. Possibly the best meat we have ever had from a carvery! We visited this pub to celebrate our grandsons birthday and all chose the carvery. Wow, the selection of meat was superb. After choosing beef and pork we were not disappointed. The beef was slightly pink in the middle, succulent and very lean, beautifully cooked. The pork was equally great, moist and delicious. Whoever cooked these joints knew what they were doing. There was a good range of veg as well, and all very tastey. If you want a carvery where the food quality is important, this is the place to go. We definitely will be returning solely based on this experience.

In the past few years my family and I have come here quite alot and during lockdown 1 we supported this pub with sunday lunches and takeaways. The food is spot on and nothing is over priced. I was reading an article about the previous reviewer slating this place, people make mistakes but it’s people like that reviewer that ruin wonderful little pubs reputations and it’s not right. Yes there are decorative tweaks that are needed (as in any pub) but I have eaten in very expensive places that require some decorative tweaks as well so get over it! All i will say is before you read the last review please read every review that person has made, he slates everything and everything is ‘expensive’. Apologies for the rant but I can’t have people like that try to ruin decent, hard working peoples reputations. This pub genuinely is spot on and there latest menu addition of the spicy chipotle wings are just fantastic! Keep up the good work we will be back soon!!!!

Fantastic staff but very over keen to serve you. Would have preferred less attention, but they tried hard. Food - sunday Lunch - great meats had choice of 4! And you could select which or have the all which was amazing really. And the meats were well cooked. What wasn't good was the over cooked veg. The cauliflower cheese was dreadful, watery mush with no cheese. Peas had lost their colour as well as taste and the roast potatoes had no colour, so not really roasted. I would give 4 stars for staff and 2 for food so 3 overall. Will not be returning

We weren't sure when we booked, the last time i was in here was about 1984! Well, from the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful, the beer was good and the food excellent. Well worth straying slightly off the beaten path of the usual brewery ran gastro pubs for a really nice traditional pub food experience.

Cant hide the fact you are sat in a function room. Strangest thing was all of our first choices on both food and drink were either 'off' or had run out. Would I go back, probably No.

Were originally going to Fox Inn (down the road) for a Birthday meal (my 35th, Grandad 78th and my Nan 75th) along with a friend. But the Fox was packed out. So we ended up here instead. The meal was fantastic (albeit a bit on the large side). Really liked the atmosphere. The desert was absolutely amazing. Many thanks to the beautiful waitresses who served us tonight. Went for Sunday carvery £10.95 - served 2 thin slices of meat, also served 3 roast potatoes, could not help yourself, so I asked for another, served a small spoon of cauliflower cheese and was asked if enough, which I said no so was given a little more, you can help yourself to the 'front row' veg. We went here on a Saturday evening, as a group of 12. We reserved at table before hand and they had everything ready when we arrived. To help the pub out we preordered our main courses. The staff were very friendly. When it came to our food coming out, everything was perfect and delicious. Like home made food. Definitely recommend coming here.

Excellent food and friendly customer service. Have been a few times for the Sunday roast which was delicious, good portion size and we had extra gravy given when requested. I also really rate the usual pub grub here - the ham egg and chips are delicious. The chips are perfectly cooked and really tasty. All round a great place to eat.
