The dirty dirty fries are truly outrageous. We shared a portion and one burger between two and it was way too much! Excellent value and worth the wait (food took about an hour but we were warned at the point we ordered, so this was absolutely fine with us). We will be back!

I can happily highly recommend this place for food and drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful with our large group. The food was excellent, we had the starter dirty dirty fries. This is immense, a meal in itself for a handful of people and very tasty. I then had the squealer burger for main which was very generously topped too. I couldn't finish my meal after the starter and I have a healthy appetite. Finally there is just a nice positive vibe to the place too.

Great place to eat on Gloucester road and have a decent selection on tap. I've been to Hobgoblin a few times now and they always produce great food! The burgers are always really good and there is a good variety in the menu, fair warning it's a lot of food. If you go you have to try their fully loaded dirty fries they are incredible, loads of fries loaded with loads of cheese, sauce and meat you have to try them!

As a burgers fanatic i really enjoyed my meal there. Not your typical pub food I would say, a bit upgraded. The taste is there and all the sauces are great. The only downside is the temperatures of the burger which are all served to well done. If they manage to offer a variety on their burger temps would have given a 5 star instead. Also there is plenty varieties of beers and they offer food challenges which I find extremely interesting. Overall would recommend it 100%

Hobgoblin serves you better-than-average pub food. I’d heard about their dirty fries and they lived up to their reputation. BBQ pulled pork, melted cheese and mystery spices sit on a generous portion of fries! I must warn you this is definitely for sharing - we made the mistake of ordering a burger each too. I think the sauce on it alone are enough even though they provide mayo. I couldn’t appreciate my cow & chicken burger because I was full. The staff are good at their job. They have a nice selection of beverages including cider and a decent number of tables. I will revisit for their chicken burgers! All affordable at £10-20 for a main.

Can't believe I haven't rated this sooner. With a whole rut of new burger places opening in Bristol this place still remains an absolute gem. The burgers are the perfectly blend of quality and filth (probably not the right word but you get the idea 😂) and the dirty fries are still as legendary as ever

I love the burgers here. The fact Hob doesn't come up when you search burgers in maps is a travesty. "Dirty, Dirty" fries are fantastic, even if they only come in massive portions and on that really annoying paper that goes soggy. Good drinking too. Will always come back x

Dirty. Dutty. Filthy. Hobgoblin offers a small range of food but it’s all done very well... Burgers, loaded fries, nachos & wings. Portions are massive. Dirty dirty fries are hugely calorific and definitely for sharing. Only 4 stars because the dirty dirty fries were a bit soft and soggy and also because our table was dirty dirty and Hangry himself had to move the previous diners dirty dirty plates and glasses.

It was so good that even though we were full we wanted more. It's a nice place to hangout with your friends but if you go there on Friday-Saturday nights it is very loud.

I was very happy with the selection of beers, I had the Mad Goose and it was good. In addition I was pleasantly surprised with a good selection of vegan burgers; three to choose from and I settled on the Ve-Goblin burger which was spicy and had two hash browns inside. Very happy.

Good burgers, nice beer and we've generally been able to get a table here when a lot of the other (tiny) places on Gloucester road are full as it has quite a lot of space inside. A few vegan burger options to choose from (and plenty of meat options) can't go wrong really.

Food is brilliant if you ever get it. You can't book a table anywhere, not even call in, there is nobody to help you find a place, so you are racing with people who just came in! We moved the tables and made sure to inform multiple waiters of that, however even after that, they confused the tables and nobody bothered asking us when walking past, even though we had empty table with clean knifes and forks... It took over 1.5 hours after finding a place to actually get our food and and only after the manager was called, we got an apology and situation was explained to us with lack of kitchen staff.

Food is amazing and portions are massive. We could have shared the dirty dirty fries between the two of us and been full. The only negative I have is with their covid systems. Their list of regulations are on the back of the menu but the waitress didn't tell us this, it was only that I happened to notice. It would have been nice if the waitress had of pointed this out to us as it's important. Especially as the rules with the toilets are one at a time and to put the slider across to show the toilets are engaged. I waited outside the toilets for ages when someone told me they were empty even though the door said engaged. I then went in and someone else came in while I was in there. The toilet system doesn't work as people don't know about it.

Great burgers and dirty fries! Nice pub feel to the place. Slightly on the expensive side and the beer was not in the best condition and served at room temperature (was there something wrong with their cellar equipment?). The beer 'garden' was small and just a yard with tables and i doubt it ever gets direct sunlight but was clean and neatly kept. Not exactly somewhere i would go and drink (condition of the beer) but would certainly meet up with friends for a burger and a pint!

We were told the food would be a half hour, which seemed reasonable as the rugby was on and it was quite busy but it came earlier than that and was good. The portions are large and I thought, considering the amount of food, fairly priced. Beer was ok though I would agree with others that there are cheaper places to go on the Gloucester Road. I wouldn't go all the time but it was worth it to try the fries.

Nice cosy pub. Decent food. However we only tried the chicken wings (that we're given to us for free!), although they were very nice. The burgers looked very good as well and I intend to come back and try one. They've got a good enough beer selection, some nice local Bristol ales which is all I ask for from a pub. First time trying the food offering and it was refreshing to see that it wasn't just another fad burger joint which Bristol seems to be fashionable for over recent times. What was on offer was a very generous and well made burger complete with fries and freshly made apple slaw. Each item in the burger was put together perfectly and unlike some buttermilk chicken that I've had in the past this was perfectly seasoned with a hint of garlic and not at all dry. A 100 % genuine offering for under £12 which I'd happily eat in or takeaway. Perfect!

I do love this pub. It kind of feels like a country pub but in the city. You’ll be greeted by the lovely smell of their food whenever you walk I. A great drinks selection and very tasty pig out food like their famous dirty, dirty fries and variety of burgers and hot wings challenge. It gets very busy so I’d always recommend booking a table if you want food. They have some great tap beers and the staff tend to be very friendly and attentive. Even when it’s busy you’re not waiting too long for a drink. Not the cheapest bar on Gloucester Road but always a decent atmosphere.

Quite honestly my favourite place to visit in Bristol for both drinking and eating! I fell in love with dirty fries years ago and take all my mates there for occasions where people really want to eat some filth(in a good way)! Never lived close so can't drink as often as I like but there's always great beers on tap a mixture for everyone from decent lagers to delicious regional IPAs and things! Love it and can't say it enough!

Amazing pet shop with everything you could ever want. Very friendly with dog visitors. Staff are wonderful and remember our dogs name and always offer a treat. They offer free delivery on a Saturday for bulky items too.

These guys just about scrape 3 stars from me on account of their tendency toward eating challenges which I think is a fun thing but really it should be 2 stars. The beer selection is poor. I mean, it's acceptable if you don't care about much but really, it's pretty poor and the prices don't make up for it. The food, though expensive, is decent, in the comforting kind of way and it's in a good place and has nice big windows so it always feels light and airy. That's great as a space - doesn't quite fit the name conceptually but never mind I guess.

Very goodand tasty food but the ketchup must have been out of date. When I realised that, I asked for new fries as I had already put some sauce on them and they kindly gave me some. However, they put the ketchup back on the shelf! Also it took them about 45 minutes to bring our burgers.

Usually, absolutely brilliant however on this occasion not good at all. Firstly it was so cold in the place literally everyone had their coats on. Waited an hour an a half and the food order was incorrect. The food portion sizes have dramatically reduced over the last couple years. It’s meant to be good dude food for the money but always leave feeling hungry. On the plus side they are starting to have some IPA’s on tap.

You get BIG portions too and their homemade chipotle sauce is a bit amazing - I always order an extra pot! Prices are fair though they have crept up...... just manageable for a bunch of students. The pub itself is nicely decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. Drinks aren't the cheapest for Bristol but they're not bad either. They lose a star for the 45min+ wait time on food but that does go down a lot when they're quiet. Not enough staff I guess!
