C. E.Delicious vegetarian carvery today at The Old Farmhouse. We haven't visited in many years but the carvery was as good as ever - all very fresh and tasty. We found the prices per person to be reasonable, too.
Good facilities including accessible toilet and baby change and Lego table which our boys enjoyed playing with.
Service was prompt with no being forgotten about as seems to happen elsewhere.
We hope to return soon.
H. R.Haven’t eaten here since before COVID and what a lovely surprise. We came with friends for lunch and all ate a different dish and agreed that each choice had been fab.
The staff were fabulous, polite and attentive but not over the top - nothing was too much trouble.
It was lovely to see the pub quite busy at lunchtime. We will certainly come back more often. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely afternoon.
J. D.Wow, what a pleasant surprise! I stopped off for a meal midweek in the afternoon when visiting family. The food and service was amazing! I can't rate this pub high enough and will be back for a second visit.

S. ..Reading all the other 5 star reviews, maybe we went there when the kitchen had a bad day. All the meals we ordered were bland, even the salad garnish that came with our food looked old and wilted (there was actual wilted leaves in there...). Otherwise, the staff at the bar were nice enough and the outside was nice to sit in. Hence the 4 stars. Maybe just for a drink there next time until their food proves me wrong.

H.Visited Saturday 20th November… very disappointed to be honest .. not much of a menu ..had beef pie which was very tasty but small portion… but no steaks ribs etc that is on their website .. also my guest commented how cold it was there … can’t see me rushing back to soon … responding to your response .. thank you for your reply .. If you go on your website on menu you will clearly see Ribs and pictures of steaks on there .. I don’t dispute what you do is cooked well and tasty but what I do dispute is largest menu in area .. I have used Farmhouse several times since it first opened but was clearly disappointed on our last visit .. Best wishes going forward but speaking how I found

J. M.Presumably for historic reasons, this rather nice place is approached by driving down a housing estate access road. It's worth perservering. For lunch, we both had the same excellent beef bourgignon pie. A full plate of well cooked food which neither could finish so desserts were passed up. We'll be back!

P. W.Lovely place, very cosy and welcoming. Really enjoyed our meal on Saturday. I don't usually order pies but my sister told me the food is delicious so I thought I would give it a go. I ordered the Beef Pie and it was full of flavour with large chunky beef chunks and delicious thick gravy. It comes in the form of a slice but it's a very generous portion with a choice of roast potatoes, Mash or fries and vegetables on the side. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and the staff were friendly and helpful. We sat next to a warm fireplace which was great on a cold winter's day.
A. J.Disappointed with the food. Staff were lovely, and the pub is gorgeous, but definite cost cutting going on with the food. My solitary fish finger looked lost inside its baguette, the chips were from a packet, and my wife's potato was still hard and served with cheap baked beans. I suppose covid has hit the hospitality sector hard, but I would pay a couple of quid more for that extra fish finger!
K. M.We booked a table as we were going to nerby NT Tyntsfield to the Ignite event. The menu is simple but varied and there's a specials board. Some of our party have special dietary needs and there are gluten free and vegan options. The young staff were attentive and very helpful. We enjoyed our meal and hope to be back to enjoy the beer garden.
H. F.Regrettably, after hearing so many good reports about the food here, I was very disappointed. Ordered one of the specials which after a long wait arrived very dry and not very warm and not worth what they charged for it, my friends meal was the same. May be some time before I go back.
After writing this yesterday The Old Farmhouse got in touch with me to apologise for any problems with our meal and even offered a free lunch in return. I have to say I'm very impressed with their response, most places don't apologise let alone offer a free lunch. So star rating has changes and I put it down to being an off moment. R. H.Thank you to the staff at the farmhouse for a lovely Mother’s Day lunch this weekend.
Also a big thank you to the staff for being so accommodating to the family behind us, who were unable to cope with our toddlers two minute mega meltdown and moved them immediately when they complained.
Once there were less strangers around her she immediately calmed down and we went onto have a glorious meal, can’t thank you enough for moving them 😂. It’s a shame that people can’t be a little more patient with our lockdown babies considering it’s a family restaurant but the staff handled it very well, the definition of a good family restaurant.
Also like to thank them for being so accommodating & knowledgable with our daughters soya and dairy allergies.
P. D.Fairly standard low to mid-end pub grub. Service was attentive but surprisingly slow given that it was not particularly busy. We eventually got our meal about an hour after arriving. My fish portion was small, overcooked, dried out, disappointing. Prices moderate by current standards. I'll not be hurrying back.

T. S.This is a gorgeous pub in the middle of a "housing estate", which is a little strange for an old building but it's a totally fab pub with really good food on the menu, good selection of drink and 5* star service.
The only thing that was a little strange for us, was there's no steak on the menu, but they do have steak within they're mixed grill.
Will definitely return if we're in the area again.

Only negative is the location of the disabled toilet: behind the projector screen of the seperate room which my company had rented for the day, meaning we had to roll it up for a significant portion of the day incase it was needed (it wasn't).
For general purposes, a decent option.

M. H.We found the Old Farmhouse very welcoming. Although it is on the edge of an housing estate it has that country pub feel. We only had food from the light bite menu ( we did have the choice to have food of the maiin menu ). We are glad we did as we found it was just right for us. That ment we had room for a dessert. The food we had was gammon steak and liver and bacon for the the main meal. Lemon pudding with lemon custard and banana sticky toffee pudding. All food was excellent, staff very professional in taking the orders and service.
A. T.Ordered the carvery delivery on Sunday and was not disappointed! It turned up on time, I ordered pork my partner had beef, with roast potatoes, carrots, butter cover rubber beans, red cabbage, Yorkshire pud, stuffing and gravy all for £9.50 and £2 delivery charge. It was delicious! Would recommend as everything was lovely!

C. A.Came here for my girlfriend's surprise party. There was about 20 of us and we were given our own lovely room with a load of tables put in a row so we could sit together.
Everybody enjoyed the food, I had traditional faggots mash and peas (delicious) and a great time was had by all.

C. W.Exceptional take-away roast dinner. I dont normally eat pub grub, LOVE my food and prefer home cooked roast dinners but this was absolutely lovely. Homemade Yorkshire puds were HUGE, tender roast beef with a lovely creamy horseradish and an amazing selection of veg that was cooked to perfection ( the purple cabbage and green beans in a creamy sauce make a lovely change from your standard carrots and peas, although these were also available and the carrots were cooked in a lovely glaze). The portions were also very generous and the gravy was tasty tasty tasty.😋
In a trade that is currently struggling, I dont think the Farmhouse will have any worries if this is the standard of food they can still serve up after a difficult year.

D. G.Highly recommend the Old Farmhouse, we ordered a take away yesterday and the food was delicious and great value for money. We have a fussy 3yr old but we ordered the Lasagne from the kids menu and she loved it, ate it all up. Ordering online was easy and collection was seamless, it took us about 20minutes to get home but the food was still nice and warm.
If you haven't tried the food at the Old Farmhouse you really should, you wont regret it!!!!

Five roast meats, six veg and plenty of condiments and extras on the carvery all cooked to perfection. I ate from the main menu and my cod & chips arrived quickly and was perfectly cooked.
The staff were attentive without us being overly aware of their presence, over all a really nice lunch out. Very busy as expected, be sure to book a table if you want to eat here!

Lots of Christmas party people around and the place looked very festive!
It would be nice if there was table service however, that would have been a problem on the night I was there because I thought they could have used a few more staff on duty.
All in all, it was a good place to go and enjoyed by all of us. Would recommend.

S. A.A lovely pub, and a great carvery as usual. The only disappointment today was that hardly any of the staff were wearing masks. I know this isn't a legal requirement, but I would at least expect the staff, many of whom are very young, to be wearing facemasks. This is a pity as it would put me off returning for a while.

J. M.New Years day random visit around 12:30 (lunch). The pub was busy but were able to accommodate us as we never booked. The food came out quick and was delicious. We had classic pub meals of Ham egg and chips and Lasagne and chips and children's chicken chips and peas. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help and ensure we enjoyed our meal.
There is plenty of parking and outside seating which would be nice in the summer months.
We will definitely be going back.

I seriously struck gold, there is a wide range of specials and the sunday roast is awesome. Food and Drinks all reasonably priced. It has a child's play area outside and large indoor space for eating.
