Best pub in the area by far - proper beer, great food (although could do with a bit more choice for veggies) and fabulous beer garden! Also the friendliest staff! Wish they'd open more often is the only thing :)
H. W.
Lovely pub serving local beers and ciders, all very affordable and great selection. Very different to your overly commercial or chain pubs, got a real authentic feel to it. Great beer garden at the back. Lovely little gem of a pub.
S. J.
Absolutely brilliant pub. So many country pubs have been stripped of all character by glossy renovations. Not this place! Old school scran, snacks, flat cider & cask ale. Perfect pub!
A. S.
Why have we not gone here sooner? It was our first visit, in the middle of our bike ride. Sun was out, the cider was amazing and the bar snacks were good. This is a really tidy little place. The staff were excellent and were so attentive. We'll definitely be back
P. A.
Amazing pub that serves food and has a brilliant atmosphere. Lovely cosy inside and a huge sunny beer garden. Staff and landlords are always so welcoming!
S. B.
One of the best pubs. Quiet, great beer garden, great refuelling stop on a bike ride. Fantastic service and tasty scotch eggs!

A more authentic country pub would be hard to find. Can be summed in in one beautiful west county word: Proper.
J. C. C.
Great beer and food. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent.

I've often said to people this is the best pub in the world and honestly it probably is exactly that. It's well sorted in looking after people safely but without overdoing it in this new world . Good stuff.
I know it's odd posting pictures of the new Gents - but they are pretty special !
So glad it's reopened ....

Great pub nice ales and good selection of ciders. But closes a 8 on a Saturday and six on a Sunday!!
D. B.
Love this place so much! Service is excellent. Lovely friendly staff.

Best described as an exceptionally rare rural pub , not sophisticated (in my opinion) but utterly charming in its own way. Great place to step back in times and relax, 10/10

Sat in the evening sun chattin having fun . + I really needed that cheese roll .
S. T.
It still is a delight to walk here, enjoy a bite to eat and see an old fashioned pub and beer garden in a lovely area. Yes some refurbishment has been carried out but not to it's detriment.

Such a lovely place. It doesn't look to great from the outside but inside its a warm feel. The beer and service are great. The garden out the back is secluded and lovely. They have a great choice on ther menu. Haven't eaten ther yet but we we are hoping to in the near future.

This place has changed since my last visit and looks so much better. The drinks range was very good and the rooms were cosy. I would love to go back and try the food as it looks very nice on Trip Advisor.

Went to the pub for early evening drink, the pub garden bathed in fairy lights and the tables all socially distanced and all the correct procedures inside the pub being carried out by everybody. Lovely atmosphere a traditional pub

Shame that we didn't know the kitchen was closed as we planned on eating. However, we love this pub and the scotch egg was lovely.
N. P.
Excellent, proper little country pub, good selection of well kept beers and cider. Good food, outstanding pies on a Friday and Sunday roasts last Sunday of the month.
P. W.
Traditional no-nonsense pub described by one reviewer a place where a couple of farmers go in and throw a couple of dead badgers on the floor and go and have a pint.
Real ale, butcombe, sold like it was in the early 18th century, on barrels held up for everyone to see.
Scotch eggs are homemade and if you can get one treat yourself, they are the best I've tasted anyway.

Incredible beer garden in sunny weather! Amazing sandwiches also! Great stop off for a walk

Very unassuming from the outside. But inside cosy and friendly. The owner/barkeep was very helpful will definitely be back for a drink and a meal. The homemade pies were delicious.
I. B.
Proper old and tumbledown pub, stacked full with curiosities in the bar rooms and a decent selection of local ciders. Unpretentious place, not really for visitors; it's a lived in place for locals . . .
C. M.
