It was such a fantastic experience!
The service was impeccable, the setting was stunning, and the cuisine was exceptional!
My wife said it was the best lobster she had ever eaten, and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection!
I love their little referb tweaks within the restaurant, too!
All in all, I'm very impressed!!
The lamb was absolutely stunning, best lamb I've ever had. Great location, right on the water and great service. We will definitely be back again.
This should easily be a four star restaurant but, from my experience, the service and a few other things let it down.
Let’s start with the food though. Good menu choices and good to see some steaks hung to mature in a display cabinet. The scallops starter I had wasn’t paired right I don’t think - the sauce was too strong for the gentle sweetness of scallops. Next to the steak - well, it was very good produce but, my medium rare came as medium and when 35% of your overall steak is fat, you feel a bit hard done by given the price of the steak. The fries were also disappointing. Soft on the inside but soft on the outside too, so no crispness to them. And the salad leaves the steak came with were just a waste of time, no seasoning or dressing on them. A saving grace for the steak though was the red jus, which was amazing. What bumped the whole experience up mind was the cheesecake, which was by far one of the best I have had.
So to the service. We had a table for 8 booked for lunch and we arrived to an empty restaurant, which was fine. Not sure why they couldn’t find our booking (they did eventually) and someone tried to seat us at a 6 table despite us confirming we needed a table for 8. We had to chase placing a food order and getting the bill, so we were left too long at times. They didn’t have enough menus printed for that day, and the drinks order took too long.
As a table for 8, with mainly only soft drinks, the bill at over 700 was a lot for an overall experience of a 3 star restaurant.
Came a couple weeks ago and had the steak and fries. I would say it was atleast med well rather than med rare but it was still really good, the combination of the steak and the rocket/salsa/cheese was what made it for me. I'd say the salsa was more like a pesto but still it was so good and the fries were amazing too! we did have to chase for our wine and the glasses had to be replaced with polished ones but was no big deal. The location and views of the place are definitely amazing. I would definitely come back and order this again, been thinking about this meal ever since!
We held a networking dinner for c.20 clients/contacts in the private room recently, which got brilliant feedback from our guests:
- Staff were friendly and the service was smooth, never waiting long for food or drinks. We liked that they were quick to bring more jugs of water.
- The venue itself was lovely and multiple guests commented on how nice the space was. The room was a great size for our group. The table setting was beautiful without being over-the-top.
- The food was fabulous and again, something our guests commented on. A noticeable step-up from the usual big event catering.
Behind the scenes, the team (especially Emily) was brilliant - clear and fast communication, and very accommodating with a few last-minute changes. A big 'thank you' from us and our guests, Emily and team, for a brilliant event - we'll definitely be back!
We came for a celebration dinner using a voucher for £100 for two. The restaurant wasn't very busy but we got seated directly next to other diners who were quite loud, so multiple times we felt like we had to pause our conversation while they were interacting with the waiter. The view over the river was very pleasant. Food wise, extremely hit and miss. The entree of mussels was delicious and the desserts were very well presented and well balanced in terms of flavours. However, the bread and butter for the table were respectively not tasting fresh and too cold and hard. And both of our mains (chicken supreme and pasta) were quite underwhelming, with the pasta specifically feeling like it's missing sauce.
Overall we had a pleasant night but for the price point the evening did not feel special enough.
Fabulous roast lunch - the best I’ve had in a very long time. Great service. Loved that we were able to stay at our table chatting without being rushed out. Will definitely go again next time we visit Bristol.
Stopped off for breakfast drawn in by great views from the restaurant.
Wasn’t all that busy but service was a little slow.
Once ordered food came out quickly but eggs and mushrooms were over cooked.
Coffee was good and would have stayed for another if it would have come out promptly.
Sadly wouldn’t rush back, will try Harbour House or Mud Dock Cafe next time.
It’s such a beautiful place, and the food is tasty!
I ordered seabream (with truffle fries) and amoretto tiramisu. All are delicious!
What a great place to eat - restaurant on 1st floor. Great food, wine, atmosphere and service. Definitely recommend the slow cooked beef ribs - melts in your mouth. Really unusual smoked mackerel- not what I expected but definitely worth trying. Sancerre was a treat to start. Great location - by the river.
We came as a table of 2 on Monday evening. The food was outstanding in appearance and flavour. Service was excellent and very well paced. Truly one of the regions stand out restaurant's
A fab meal with cod , Thrn rice pudding was exceptional. The waiter was extremely good. Thank you so much for a great lunch. All in the warm Bristol sunlit backdrop .
Had an overall great experience at the Riverstation.
We visited for a Sunday Brunch and we weren’t disappointed.
Everything tasted nice and staff made sure we were satisfied at all times.
Thank you!
We reserved a table for Sunday lunch at the Riverstation. Seated by the windows with a beautiful view of the river. The menu varies so it won’t be the same week to week. On this day, I chose the slow cooked pork belly and my friend, the beef. Before the main course arrives, they serve bread with butter. The rosemary bread was soft, fresh and possessed a salty crust.
Now for the main, the fatty skin was jelly-like; making a welcome change from the usual crunchier texture. The pork meat itself melted in my mouth. The vegetables were juicy but I wish the potatoes weren’t as dry though.
I enjoyed my roast and I only leave with the regret of not having room for dessert. About average cost for this meal.
A group of 3 attended for a meeting up leisurely lunch. Disappointed with small number of unrealistic choices on the lunch set menu so felt forced onto the a la carte. The prices here have risen markedly although the quality of the imaginative dish (we all had the chicken) was very good and a substantially sized portion.
Perhaps reflecting that we were there on a Tuesday lunchtime, the restaurant was very quiet which dulled the ambiance Service was attentive enough without us feeling pressured but then time was not an issue for us on this occasion.
I suggest some lighter, less complex but good quality dishes on the lunch set menu at its current price would make the experience more attractive.
Met a friend for lunch on a beautiful sunny day so sat outside in the pontoon. The food was good, cider and wine lovely with nice relaxed service… a great lunch 🙌👍
Lovely meal, atmosphere and staff. Food was amazing. Brilliant evening out. Will be back
In this restaurant you have an amazing view over the beautiful river and you can sit insider our outside. There is also a little terasse on the roof. You have a big variation of different menu’s which are tasty and fresh and you can also choose between many drinks.
It was great!
It was great!
Nice staff. Very loud place. Food was okay. My fish and chips were very fancy. Mum loved her soup. Very polite staff. I don't like orange tinned lights. Art work is very different. Not to dark inside. Toilets were very clean. Chairs very comfortable
Nice venue, menu is ok - nothing to write home about - but the services is below average, despite asking for a fast turnaround food took more than 30mins to be delivered with little to no apology - in fact a bit of an argument about whether we had or had not told them!
The best Sunday Roast I've had in a very long time. We also had the padron peppers for a starter and they were absolutely delish - the seasoning was amazing and the serving was generous. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great view over the river, friendly service.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant area upstairs. We were seated at a table by the window with views across the harbour which was nice. The food was delicious and the service was warm and efficient.
We held our wedding reception at Riverstation on the weekend. The team were great - especially Cilla who went the extra mile on the day to give us a relaxed and fun afternoon. And Davey who helped us plan the day.
The food was super tasty (with great gluten free options), the table looked fab and the views were great.
We couldn’t have asked for more and we are so glad we picked the riverstation.
Relaxed dining at its best.
Would recommend.
Delicious food and service. The bartenders were amazing and handle the 25+ crowd we brought in amazingly well. We had a private room and everyone could focus on talking and chatting without worrying about food and drinks etc.
Excellent food throughout the meal, very pleasant staff, great wine and a fantastic location with lovely views. I'd very happily return if I'm in the area.
Nice setting. Upstairs in the restaurant. Friendly team of people. Food was excellent. Whole GF menu which was great to see. Would recommend and go back. Moderate food pricing.. expensive drinks. But that's Bristol.
Lovely people working. Very accommodating the food was delicious sat overlooking the river.
Haven't been here for years, but had a good lunch today. Food was freshly cooked and tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful and I had forgotten what a great view you get from the terrace
Absolutely great place to have lunch - superb and quirky menu options. Best bit for me is that the downstairs is dog friendly! Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended waterside restaurant!
Lovely family lunch on the weekend. One of the big selling points of Riverstation is the wonderful floor to ceiling views of the harbour, and we had a table with this view. Stylish and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Great quality food and drinks. We were well looked after.
Great menu and very nice staff. Would definitely recommend
AMAZING food! We went for a sunday roast and it was melt in the mouth gorgeous. Service was perfect. Thank you so much!
Great cuisine, a bit pricey but worth it.
Very quiet, ideal for a dinner for two.
Service was great, the lady in charge that evening was super nice.
A really lovely evening with great tasting food, lovely wine and a nice atmosphere. It's not a cheap place to eat but worth it for a special treat as the food was so flavoursome.
This is the second time I have been to the Riverstation, and once again they did not disappoint, I attended with some French colleagues and the staff made them feel at home with some French conversation, not only was the service impeccable, we, the guest, made a mistake with our order, that was 100% our fault and without faltering the staff made a rectification to the meal and ensured our night was fantastic, this is probably the best service I have ever received 5 stars is not enough, I will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Not only are the staff friendly and efficient but the setting of the restaurant itself is beautiful.
Had a great meal here with my partner this evening. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. Lovely atmosphere too. Will definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends.
Also apple crumble cocktails are a great idea!
I wanted to let you know, after our visit today. My husband rang ahead, booked and told you we were celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary. We were handed 2 menus from the bar and told to sit wherever we wanted. The lady on the phone had said she’d reserve us the nicest table so that message didn’t get passed on. Our wine (£46) a bottle wasn’t chilled so we were asked if we wanted an ice bucket!! We ordered side which were forgotten about, when I reminded the waitress we were told that we’d have to wait for them as there was a problem. When we left there were cardboard boxes everywhere by the bar. The Australian guy at the bar was awful. Won’t be returning.
Great food, special mention to the mussels, steak frites and shittake mushroom burger. Beautiful views of the river, friendly and helpful staff. Loved it 🥰
Great restaurant, nice venue, the menu could offer a bit more variety, but it was good food.
Artichoke was my favorite dish.
We sat outside in the sun by the harbour. 2 and 3 course menu available which was reasonable value. Staff were friendly. Veggie options. Great location.
Lovely location with a great view of the harbour.
Our waiter Walid was really attentive and gave us recommendations.
The risotto was very nice and smokey, just the squash was a bit tough.
Good size menu with a great selection of desserts that we deliberately left some room for.
We were a large group of 23 lunching in their private dining room. Service both before the event in dealing with pre-orders and during the lunch were absolutely superb, flawless even. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Great for fish especially, but also does aged beef and a good veggie risotto. Ambiance is biggest selling point. Great for romantic date nights and also for families and larger groups.
A lovely few hours catching up with old friends. Great food, friendly staff, perfect service at reasonable prices. We opted for the pontoon and sat by the window watching the world go by. Beautiful. Thank you
Nice views and very friendly staff.
Menu small but traditional. Food was very underwhelming given the cost. Have had much better elsewhere for much less outlay.
They do cater to gluten free needs and understood it well, but unfortunately quality of food was just lacking.
A go to place as lovely outdoor seating by the water. Decent food and reasonably priced considering location
Casual dining on the ground floor is charming. Good food from a short menue and cheerful atmosphere.
In the main first floor resaurant, it is a bit more formal and posh.
Surely the best sunday roast in Bristol!
The Riverstation has been firm favourite in Bristol for years, but when push comes to shove, Sunday roast which so often disappoints, really hits the spot here.
Really good service and a convivial atmosphere.the
Try their roast beef. Sublime.
Lovely wine and a waterfront view with delicious food. What more could you ask for?!
Perfect for a date night ♥️
We held our post-wedding meal here and Emily was fab in helping us to arrange the day. Excellent food, location and service, especially accomodating our dog 😁☺️ thank you all!
Had a great meal here, friendly staff who found us a waterside table. Good range of food and drink at reasonable prices.
Loved the view food was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff were friendly polite and professional. Keep up the great work guys 😊👍
One of the nicest restaurants in Bristol, would definitely visit again! Waiting staff were all lovely too :)
The plaice and samphire is delicious. Easy recommendation.
Efficient and friendly service.
Great for big groups.
Such a lovely afternoon meal for my graduation this week. The food was so lovely and the staff accommodated for the 2 children we had and were so patient with the chaos of the afternoon. The staff (Emily especially) were just so lovely and welcoming and even gave me a glass of prosecco to calm the nerves!
Food was amazing, lots of choices for people with different taste preferences. Felt very cared for during our post wedding lunch
Misleading A board outside advertising fixed price menu that ends hours earlier
Amazing food in a great setting. The staff were really nice, quick and happy to answer questions about the food
Happened to come here by accident due to a bridge being out for construction and I had to walk by it to find another route across the water. It's situated on the river with a nice view of the river and eventual sunset.
The staff was nice and attentive while also letting the customers take their times.
The food was very good! The ox cheek was like a steak sized roast beef and the seafood tasted fresh. I had the pickled herring in beet juice and oysers. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the servings are small and I needed to order 4 items and a desert to feel filled which would lead to an expensive evening for more than one person.
All on all. It was a nice and relaxing time to spend my afternoon.
Well-presented food, friendly staff and beautiful decorations. Highly recommended!
We had a delicious Sunday roast sitting beside the water. The cocktails were excellent and the service was superb.
Average and disappointing
I've eaten at the R S many times over the years and never been disappointed until last night.
Expensive for what we got, meagre portion size and pretty average food
Sad but won't eat here again
The "pepper sauce" we were served with the steak was thin ,weak, unreduced and absolutely awful
Had the chef ever mad a sauce?
To be fair , we didn't pay for it, but would still have been preferable to have nice sauce.
Sad end to my long standing relationship with this restaurant
Great place for drinks.
Classy.
Good views.
Didn't try the food but it looked lovely.
Here for an adieu family meal as a new chapter of opportunity opens. Interesting small yet wide ranging menu upstairs. Great decor, excellent flavour blends and presentation. Mine was slightly overcooked. Frustrating service team with attention to table requests very variable. Many choices locally
I've been coming here for about 25 years, off and on. I guess it's probably changed ownership during that time, but it hasn't changed a lot. "Posh" restaurant upstairs and more casual food downstairs. Great views over the harbour. The food downstairs is "good pub food" and service is generally good. The name comes from the fact that the building was formerly the harbour police station.
Gorgeous and delicious good, friendly and efficient service, lovely view over the river Avon. My hake was beautifully arranged and my partner's lamb shoulders were to die for. Will certainly try it again when back to Bristol and also consider their supper cruise offers!
Had work Christmas lunch here, which was very very good. Good service considering the very large numbers of people/groups coming through-fairly timely, didn't get any orders wrong, had a small mix up with umbrellas and coats, but we found them ourselves in the end. Friendly staff.
Have also had some of their infused gin here in the evenings and it's a nice atmosphere and view.
Beautiful location for any occasion. We went there for a dinner and the food was just spectacular with presentation and tasted amazing. The menu is a little diferrent from every other restaurant.
Welcoming staff and loved the decor and vibe.
Thank You
Outstanding service delivered from the staff. Despite an extremely busy event every single member of staff was incredible in terms of how they looked after us. "Would you like seconds sir?" "Can we get you another drink?" - Fantastic experience, highly recommend!
I was really impressed! Their food is remarkable and so delicious! It's filling too but in a comfortable way as it's real ingredients, not 'fillers`!! I would definitely recommend. Whatever you choose from the menu, you won't be disappointed!!
Really great food and very friendly staff (classy and chummy in the same time). Been there two times only, so far, but it's probably going to be my favourite restaurant in Bristol
Generally ok. Nothing brilliant. The staff seemed pretty nice and the food was ok for the price.
Very minimal vegetarian and vegan options, but that was to be expected.
I casually walked nearby and chose a restaurant with good reviews.
I came in because I saw fish and chips.
Later I discovered that it was already dinner time.
So I ordered blue mussels and steak.
The blue mussels are delicious, slightly sour, and very appetizing sauce!
I ordered medium for the steak, and it was medium well when it was served.
The black garlic butter tastes great and the fries are hot and crispy!
A restaurant worth recommending!
This is our Paper wedding ☺️ Good memories!
Great service, delicious food, fantastic location
Local located next to the river.
It has 2 floors... On the upper floor is the restaurant.
Good treatment from the staff.
Good food... Everything was good, the desserts were spectacular.
It has 3 types of beer on tap and several in bottles.
Maybe the price above the average of the rest.
Nice place to stay in Bristol harbor
Well located location, very average product quality. A coffee will be enough to enjoy the terrace
Nice cafe with large portions, but the menu is very short
A grand day out, our waiter Connor did an excellent job with his section. Food, ambience and location were smashing.
Book parking early ...
We had the most amazing dinner! Compliments to the chef and the rest of the lovely staff. You’ve all made our stay in Bristol a lot more memorable.
Many thanks!
Riverstation is located in a wonderful little spot on the harbourside, which made for a beautiful view on a sunny afternoon. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially our server Leo. He was very helpful with our order and made us feel welcome as soon as we sat down.
The food was fantastic, flavourful meat and vegetables for a perfect Sunday roast. It arrived piping hot with a side of delicious gravy. There was a variety of options for our lunch but we went for the chicken as well as the beef, which were both incredible.
Excellent service and delicious food 😋
Had the most lovely lunch with a friend. Food was fine service great and thank you for taking pics for us. A great location with friendly welcoming staff. Loved it x
Exceptional menu and the food was spot on. Great day to have a lunch out in the deck. Their cheese board and charcuterie is amazing.
We went pre-theatre early. Riverstation was basically empty, so service was fine.
Sat by the window overlooking the floating harbour. Was lovely watching Bristol.
Had a lovely Cuban Colada cocktail.
Heritage Beetroot appetizer was v tasty with several interesting elements which worked well together.
Pork chop main was disappointing, with the star being the fennel garnish.
Overall a nice experience, but the food was not stellar.
The go to for either a casual lunch, or a very nice dinner.
Their dry aged steaks are of absolute top quality.
The setting is perfect to show off Bristol if you are not from the city.
There was a slight issue with our booking, however Connor quickly put us at ease and handled this with subtlety and professionalism and went on to ensure that we had all we required for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. The food was lovely and the service from Connor was exceptional.
Beautifully cooked medium-rare Chateaubriand, good crunchy chips, and a very fresh salad, simply but beautifully dressed, all washed down with some decent red wine, with a view over the harbour. What's not to like?
Had a lovely meal on mothers day and it exceeded our expectations. Really lovely food and service.
A lovely place with views of the river, a friendly and peaceful atmosphere and a perfect Sunday roast at a very reasonable price. Thank you!
Really super food, great service. Relaxing and enjoyable lunch.
Very professional team at the Riverstation. We were made to feel very welcome for my Dad's 80th birthday, enjoyed the food and the service was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely reccommend this restaurant to anyone thinking of booking!
Had the fixed menu for lunch. Pork, Corey and Cherry Parfait. All delicious and exceptional service!
Lovely place. My table time was ment to end at 1930 but they let it go over.
Really good food. Amazing for allergies and it shows calories as well.
Didn't look to see if it was disabled access for the restaurant upstairs.
Definitely going to go back in the future.
Superb food and superb, friendly service.
Ate here as part of a large group, was overall a very nice meal but the portions were a bit stingy and even within that they were tight with the expensive components of the food. Everything was cooked well, especially the scallop starter which almost our whole table ordered and they were able to get all of them out well.
Would also say the service was a bit confused and perhaps they are not experienced with big groups but for an ordinary meal I think this could be a hidden gem.
Great views towards the harbour and attentive staff, gets lively in the evening so best to book but the sunset views alone make it worth it. The food is delicious, well balanced with plenty of appetising options for every taste. Unfortunately the portion size for mains is slightly underwhelming - perhaps include more of the sides given the price? Most of our group had to order additional sides. Fantastic wines and great craft beer selection.
This was my second visit in the space of two weeks.
My impressions from the first time were confirmed. This time there were eight of us and everybody's food was delicious. I, boringly, had the same dishes again as the first time and the mussels were again very good! This time I asked then waiter to put the bottle of red wine in the fridge for a few minutes to bring it to a more appropriate temperature. The only problem was that the bottle of red I ordered was the last one and we could not order another one...
All in all service was swift, friendly and efficient. The wait for the food was not too long, considering it was a busy evening. Considering how full it was the noise level was still very pleasant.
In fact we liked it so much that we will return for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday.
Lovely dinner for family. Great service from Guy.
As usual my friend and I have a really excellent lunch at Riverstation Bristol. A warm welcome and excellent service especially from Gary. My friend and I go to Riverstation once a month and have never been disappointed by the food or service. Good for all generations including children. Brilliant venue for celebrations with family and friends.
Visited for lunch on a Monday so was quiet, hence rating for atmosphere. I've been to riverstation a number of times the main observation is that it would be good to change the menu occasionally, no specials offered, no beef short ribs, menu seems to have been the same for a while, but food good generally and service from Emily was excellent
It’s been a year and it just dawned on my Wife and I that we rudely did not leave a review of this wonderful restaurant after the provided the most magnificent wedding day we could have asked for. Davey and the team went all out, they decorated the restaurant in our chosen colours, provided the linen and all the catering with minimal organisation from our end, and the level of service was incredible. We literally could not have asked for a better day or suggest any improvements they could have done. The riverstation is an incredible restaurant and I do hope they are managing ok in the troubling year. Vin.
Nicely appointed restaurant with interesting food. It's a little more 'upscale' than I would normally choose (I like eating where I know what everything on the menu is without having to Google it!) But the people I was with loved it. I had a sirloin steak which was tasty but not amazing. It's not amazingly cheap but felt reasonable value. Serving staff were very friendly and helpful.
