Had a lovely lunch and as I am watching what I eat found it difficult to find something suitable, it did help as all the food had kcal amounts next to them. I decided on the mix up and it was lovely, the steak was cooked as I asked and liked and so tender.

With the rising cost of eating out at the moment, my partner and I thought we would try the Talbot Inn. We are both non meat eaters, but, do eat fish. The premises are large, with various seating areas. There are specific booths for children and dogs are allowed at one end of the Inn. There is also a pool table. The menu is quite varied, but has very few vegetarian and only 2 fish options. I had the fish and chips. Which I must say was fab! Large fish coated in very well made thin crispy batter and good quality chips and mushy peas. My partner had the vegetarian mushroom pie and mash. The pastry was a bit hard, but other than that, he enjoyed it. We ordered both meals from a section on the menu ' 2 meals for £11. ish . ( Can't remember exact amount). The Inn was generally clean and tidy, but a lot of the chair's, seat cushions were stained and dirty. Which could be an easy fix . On thing I do want to say is,. The staff are the BEST. Attentive, friendly, happy and efficient. We will visit again, maybe for the Sunday lunch. But, it would be an improvement, to have more vegetarian and fish options on the menu.

Very friendly staff, front of house Stacey extremely helpful and customer service focused. Under the pressure of a busy day Stacey remained helpful, polite which made our experience very pleasant. The other members of staff were very polite too. The food was definitely value for money , main we had was Steak, perfectly cooked so not forgetting the kitchen, the food was good!

Had a family meal felt rushed , not a friendly service. Haven't finished eating waitress came over started taking plates away then asking me if ive finished. Thought it was quite rude while I'm still eating. Me and my family was hoping to have a relaxing meal and enjoy meeting up. It was last Sunday arrived there before 6pm being told have to order before 6.30pm . The place was quite can understand why not friendly staff apart from one guy when we ordered drinks . No hurry to go back there shame really the food was good.

Stayed at Avon Adventure Farm down the road with the family and popped out for tea. Greeted with a warm welcome from Stacey and the team. All staff were super friendly. Good value food. Highly recommend.

Recently started going here after taking my aunt out shopping. Having a few allergens I need to avoid was no problem. Staff were very helpful and friendly when trying to work out what I and my son could have. Stacey makes the visit even more enjoyable, and having a baby that isnt always patient at meal times, Stacey without asking would make sure his meal came out asap. As others have said, prices are a winner too, a nice meal for a good price. We will be back x

What can I say we turned up 11 of us but had booked the wrong place. What can I say , we were made so welcome. Stacey the server who made us so welcome . Rich the guy who took our order and changed everything round to accommodate us. The chef who came out to say hello. Food was excellent, all came out the same time & was hot. Food was delicious. Kids had colouring pad and crayons given. Tv for the kids. Everything was great. We will definitely recommend this place and also will be back .

Just back from a family weekday gathering lunch at the Talbot. We had a very hungry 4 year old with us, and a colouring page and crayons were brought to the table as a welcome. Stacey who took care of us couldn't have been lovelier. The food is generous - my Dad loved his steak - and today's special offer was free (amazing) deserts - unbelievably good value.

Lovely Sunday experience! All the staff were so friendly especially Stacey who made the birthday girl feel very special, singing along with us for the happy birthday song. Very hot day and called in for lunch, no-one else there. Having ordered.....we were quickly served with mediocre standard of food. I'm afraid I only ate half of mine, fish fingers in a wrap with wilted lettuce as decoration. It was such a shame as the staff were both friendly and helpful.

I took my elderly parents into the Talbot Inn today, and was greeted by a lovely member of staff called Lani. From the time we arrived to the time we left Lani was cheerful, helpful and very accommodating to us. My parents had fish and chips .which they said was lovely, I had Mac and cheese which I have to say was lovely. Surprise was the bill for three meals and drinks less than £30. BARGIN.

Visited with my friend and my 2 year old son who is T1 Diabetic. We arrived at the pub and were shown to our table immediately. The menu for adults and children offered a great variety. My little boy was spoilt for choice! I explained to the manager Stacey that my son was T1 Diabetic and she was very attentive ensuring we had everything we needed and wanted to understand how food impacts my sons bloods. Food arrived swiftly and the value for money was excellent. The TV at the end of the booth was a great bonus as it kept my son entertained the whole time allowing myself and my friend to finish our meals. Overall we had a fantastic experience and will be back again.

We had Stacey this evening with a group that included 4 loud children. She was beyond exceptional with her service. Despite 2 power cuts and other customers, we felt like the only people in there. Incredibly well looked after!!

Always enjoy it here. Little one loves it. Ordered the Burger sliders and whilst I didn't think I'd manage it, I demolished it 😂 Staff really attentive and friendly. Will be back soon.

Visited today 22nd Sept with three family members. Was a little wary having been a little disappointed with my visit on 14th Sept which was reviewed at the time. We opted for two for £11.49 from the classics menu. Chicken Tikka Masala, Scampi, Mushroom & Ale Pie and Chicken Parmigiana were ordered and the latter incurred a £2 supplement which I feel was a little extreme. All the food was nicely served and very enjoyable. Stacey, the team manager, was as usual very polite, most welcoming and very attentive to our needs. She looked after our large group when we visited in July and her approach today was of the same high standard. We'll done Stacey and the team. Will certainly be visiting again.

Was there in July when a party of 18 went for lunch. Everything went smoothly, food was good and staff very pleasant. Took advantage of the Tuesday offer ìe two meals for £10.99 and some in group who had small appetites did in fact opt for the larger Kids Menu. I went for lunch with a friend on 14th Sept and first thing I noticed was prices were up - now £11.49 on two meal offer but not surprised as prices are increasing everywhere. Kids menus no longer printed out as other menu and drinks list but are on thin scrappy paper with activities on the back and presumably are just thrown away.I ordered Chicken New Yorker served with chips, peas, onion rings and tomato with BBQ sauce. It was very tasty but would have preferred triple cooked chips as we had in July rather than the thin frozen chips this time. Friend ordered Lasagne with salad and garlic bread . At £1.50 extra the garlic bread was NOT good value. It was two tiny triangles of bread with hardly any garlic butter and it was lukewarm. Even the server agreed with me that it was not good value for money! Would consider another visit but would choose day of visit more carefully and avoid expensive extras in future.

Steer clear of anything chicken and you'll be fine... Chicken was slimy, not only in my meal this time, but the past 3 times I've been there. You'd have thought I'd learned my lesson! Mushy like it's been pumped full of water, the rest of the meal was okay but I was still hungry because of the chicken disaster.

came to talbot other day but only getting around to writing now as been busy alot... great food, friendly staff, spoilt for choice in the menus and if you are stuck for choice i highly highly recommend the Chicken Parmagiana its absolutly amazing 😍😍 and the sauce that goes on it omg its to die for 🤤 id honestly drink that sauce its so lush 😂 if you are after a burger i highly recommend The Korean BBQ burger however be advised you will need a lot of drink as its pretty hot and spicy but again the burger is soooooo amazing, one thing is for sure no matter what you order at Talbot you will always leave feeling with a full belly as the food is sooo fulfilling, as i said the staff are friendly especially Jasmine, Richard and the barman Mark massive legends 😊 only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it can get pretty warm in the talbot sometimes too warm and it would be nice to have some air con units or open windows or turn the heating radiators all the way down

Had a Father's Day lunch at The Talbot Inn Keynsham on Sunday19th June. We were given a table at short notice, and staff were polite and helpful, especially' Stacey' who made sure we weren't kept waiting too long, checked we were happy with our meals afterwards, and was very welcoming. The food was plentiful, delicious! and hot, so will definitely visit The Talbot Inn again when we're passing. Definitely recommend.

If you want value food then this is fine. Friendly welcome. Loads of well spaced tables. Small mixed grill was ok but we think the chicken was steamed then flash grilled. Sausage a bit dry, gammon really good. The 8oz steak had to go back, couldn't cut it, absolutely no argument. Replacement was ok but seemed to have been cooked like the chicken. Must look into this strange phenomenon. If you use the order and pay app they don't have the opportunity to take items off the bill in case of problems, I won't use it next time.

Lovely food, very well priced on the Tuesday deal (you can find them on their website) £6 for half a roast chicken with choice of dip and two sides (I picked chips and tortilla wraps but salad, corn on the cob, and many more are available). The staff were friendly with all my interactions though limited as I used the app to order which worked well. I feel they should just give the final price on the menu within the app rather than applying the final offers and prices at the basket...mind you more of a Greene King issue than a pub one. What was a pub specific issue was it feels a little bit tired, cracked seats, smeary (kids) TV screens, slightly moist tables, buckets under urinals in the toilet, etc that indicate it could do with a refurb sooner rather than later! And I know it's cheap so you can't complain too much but other places can offer great value food and a tidy establishment too. 😋

Lovely friendly staff and most helpful with me having mobility issues. Nice clean pub. Had large mixed grill and a double chicken burger. Both lovely meals and great value . Used the app for ordering drinks and this was easy and very prompt. I did look at app for ordering food but couldn't see the extras I wanted. If you're having a straightforward meal the app would be fine. Beefburgers qere unavailable due to national delivery problems which is not down to the pub. I'm not sure how the app copes with out of stock items. All in all a lovely evening and would highly recommend. Check out their excellent food clubs too. Will definitely be back again

I've recently been to the Talbot keynsham.with a group of work colleagues to have the mingle all the way Xmas meal priced at£7.50 for three courses. One of our party can only eat vegan food, we were served at the bar by Amy P, who explained all about the vegan choices on offer. Second time I've eaten here and it's a case of "you get what you pay for", although I think the staff do their best. Standard pub food which can be really nice if it's hot, on clean, warm plates with clean cutlery served up by an obliging staff member. Mine was fine but it could have been hotter. Whilst there was a long wait for the food (which is understandable given Mr Corona Virus is still going strong) the staff there could not be more friendly and helpful especially a lovely gentleman named Derek. We arrived yesterday at this restaurant to take advantage of their 'Eat out to Help out' scheme, it was disappointing to have to wait 20 minutes for a table that was pre-booked a week in advance. Our experience was made worse by the ordering system at the bar which was a farce. Once finally seated we had to wait 1 hour 30 for food which is never ideal, however the shining light of the evening was the waiter named Derek. He was always on hand to assist where required and was quite the comedian. Overall food was what you would expect, and even without the deal represents solid value for your money.

Another persons dish didn't have everything included that should have been as they'd run out of some pretty basic elements (prawns) but this was not mentioned to us on ordering. Good value for money. Being a local I have heard many bad reports over the years and experienced the occasional nondescript meal here however as its now a Hungry Horse decided to give it another try. Pleasantly surprised. The waitress was exceptional - conscientious, polite and ever so helpful. The pub and toilets were actually clean (a rare thing sometimes) and as for the food I couldn't fault it. We ate every scrap!

The Talbot offers a wide range of offers for every day of the week, with a very extensive range of meals and drinks available. My own experiences here have always been very good. You will certainly feel well fed after eating here. The interior is nice and welcoming and is usually at least half full on your typical visit. Definitely advisable to book in advance for a Sunday/special event.

We really like The Talbot. Very friendly staff and handy for the bus stop and shops with good parking and outdoor seating - always a bonus! Back in md-March, when I was on my way to a party, our desserts were late, which was a shame and made me late. This has happened a few times, they have either been late or we have been forgotten about, although when I have gone and told a member of staff, they have been very obliging about sorting it out. It is hard for me to get back home on dark nights to Longwell Green as I would have to walk past a rural area with no houses, by Oldland Park. Ever since I've been coming here, which is about four years, I have thought how good it would be if u did B and B at a reasonable price, then I could just book myself in for the night snd go back home in the morning! 😉

Pub seemed nice enough friendly staff arrived at 12am was told they had stopped serving breakfast but we could order an all day breakfast off the menu! I belive what they served us was left over from the breakfast menu as the sausages were so dry and dead that I could have used them as bits of coal to start a fire the toast looked really nice but that was deceptive and everything else was bellow average so to be charged 8 pounds for somthing that had been left over from a 4 or 5 pounds breakfast and if that wasn't the case then it was the worst cooked fresh breakfast I'd ever had I would find it hard myself to cook a breakfast this bad and I'm not a chief! The drink was fine no problems there I just won't be eating at this place again and on my experience I recommend that you should avoid it aswell highly disappointed 😞👎

Since the place was refitted to Hungry Horse its always packed. I work opposite the pub and its always busy so me and a friend went a tried their food and had a drink...the best pub food I've ever eaten. The staff are very nice and friendly and help you out. Although the amount of customers coming in at the moment seems to be a bit overwhelming with a 20 mins queue to even order food and not must room left to fit people in. This goes to show how good their food is that people keep coming for it. I've had their double cheeseburger with chips and it was good...however tonight I had the fish and chips and wow i must say it was amazing. The taste is right. Perfectly cooked i couldnt have asked for it better. I then had their chocolate fudge cake for pudding and that went down a real treat. The scoop of icecream that came with it really complimented the pudding. I highly recommend the fish and chips from their menu!

Let's put things into perspective. For the price you pay, the food is actually good (remember it's for the price). You're probably going to be underwhelmed if you're used to eating in posher, pricier establishments...then again, if this is you, chances are you wouldn't come here anyway. This place knows what it is. Cheap n cheerful and it does that well. Caters for families, older folk and those after a bit of cheap grub. It's not fussy or pretentious. Taking all that into account, I've scored it a solid 4. Food was actually nice. I plumped for the Hot Chicken Tikka Massala. Nice dish. Enjoyable and surprisingly, a real kick to it. Massive menu. Affordable, decent food. Don't expect the Ritz.
