Reviews of The Beaufort Arms
T. R.
I stopped here for dinner while I was waiting for a train from Bristol, and I was pleased with the service and quality of food. It’s a very normal chain-style pub, and I was surprised there was no chicken on the set Sunday roast menu, but not a problem. I ordered the ‘duo of roast’ - beef, turkey, pigs in blankets, veg, potatoes, and stuffing. It was spot on, and the gravy was flavourful and rich. Just minutes after I ordered, via the website so I didn’t have to leave my bags, my drink arrived to my table, and I only had to wait 5-10 minutes for the meal, not long at all! Once I finished, I decided to get dessert as I had time (given the fast service), and it arrived just as quickly. I will say, I ordered the brownie & ice cream for dessert as it was small, but it was advertised as coming with a tea or coffee - however there was no way of choosing tea or coffee on the website, and it arrived in under 10 mins, without a hot drink, and the waiter didn’t ask. It wasn’t worth the full £4.99 without the drink, but I had a train to catch so didn’t have time to push for it. The staff did their jobs well, nothing out of the ordinary, they were mostly teenagers made to work on a bank holiday Sunday, so it’s probably to be expected. It was still good service, a nice place, which I definitely recommend visiting.

Last minute decision to go for a Sunday lunch and stumbled upon this pub. Roast Beef and Salted Caramel Profiteroles were my choice and was not disappointed! The Twighlight beer I had is highly recommended.
Great service by the staff, really helpful. It felt more like a locally run pub as opposed to a chain pub. Will definitely be coming back for seconds, thirds etc!
E. S.
Been here lots of times and all good, but on this occasion one or two of the meals ( 7 of us in the party so only a small percentage) not quite as nice as previously and portions seemed smaller.
But wouldn't stop me going again, could have been a hard day for them - hospitality venues are having difficulty with staff recruitment and Covid absences still!
Prices good and willing staff.

My first time in the Beaufort Arms I really injoy my afternoon visit value for money meals 1 Course 2 course or 3 courses I took the three course meal available only 9:99 plenty of off-road parking
C. W.
I took my sister there for her birthday on the 30th December, with her friend.
Couldn't believe on the price of the 3 course meals.
It all came out beautifully presented and it was all cooked to perfection.
We will definitely be back again, can't recommend it enough. Staff were very friendly.
If we could give it more than 5 stars would to so.
M. M.
Nice popular local pub that's the only one you can walk to from Bristol parkway station and still get back in time for your train! On hearing I was tight for time, they feed me quickly and suggested a lovely local Bristol beer. Not a "station pub" but a proper friendly local.
C. L.
Lovely steak . Good value for money at £10 a head . Good size portion without being overwhelming.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Clean toilets if a bit in need of a makeover .
C. S.
Had a quick pop in for a roast and was pleasantly suprised by the warm atmosphere (and temperature!! Lovely fires!). Staff behind the bar were nice and despite rushing around, Cerys (spelling might be wrong) was very tentative and friendly. Excellent place to eat, my roast Beef was delicious and my husbands Trio was cooked beautifully. Carrots a little hard but I like them that way!! Go Beaufort Arms!!!!!
G. L.
Although very busy we were served quickly. Used Embers Inn app to order food.Easy to use and fairly streamlined. Meal was reasonable for the price.
C. H.
Lovely pub, always busy.
Went in for a meal, I ordered a prawn cocktail to start & when it came out, it consisted of 8 prawns on a bed of lettuce with bread & butter.
Really NOT value for money!!
A. W.
Just been for a 10oz ribeye steak .Well cooked it was lovely.take blue light card Ember inns 25% discount .
Thanks. Friendly staff.
G. D.
I popped in after work to see if O2's "priority" drinks promotion worked here as it's an Ember inn. The female servers behind the bar, one of the lovely ladies is called Linda, were both excellent, friendly and patient getting it to work, and I also had pulled pork topped chips which were delicious! I will be back for sure! Oh, and it's right next door to Bristol Parkway!
M. R.
Great pub to have just a few minutes walk away! The place looks fantastic, always kept tidy and in order. The menu has great choices and the food is lovely, your chefs are a credit to you.
As are the incredibly friendly and conscientious bar staff.
The £2.49 a pint on real ales on Mondays will certainly keep me coming back.
L.
Great atmosphere, families and locals make it feel very welcoming. Did not eat but menu had good selection, food looked good when arriving at tables. Will be returning.
R. C.
The staff were friendly and the cask ales great. Decor pleasantly rural. The lunchtime set menu was well priced at £6, £8 and £10 for one, two or three courses, with excellent chips and soup but otherwise unspectacular. Fish batter was good but the contents watery, presumably from frozen. I'd have given four stars if it wasn't for the infestation of flies, both inside and out.
j. b.
Nice food at a decent price. We visited Beefeater a few weeks prior, and this place was 100% better than there. Really good range of beers as well.
G. M.
Went for breakfast, well cooked and enjoyable. Very good, friendly service. I would go again.
M. E.
Had a stop over at parkway for an hour and decided to give this a go. Was really nice, food was quick and staff were friendly. I'll be coming back!
S. C.
Fantastic roast dinner well worth a visit. Book your table as very busy.
K. W.
Nice friendly staff and welcoming. Good selection of drinks.
J. C.
Loads of outdoor seating, great place for a drink on a sunny Friday afternoon
k. s.
Staff very friendly ans helpfully lovely atmosphere and fab food
G. D.
Thank you so much Linda at the bar in this lovely pub for your patience and kindness! She is an absolute star!
H. W.
Really enjoyed my visit and food was good and hot. So 5***** from me
H. A.
Ordered a Roast beef, beef was lovely, veggies were a bit crunchy ( Al dente), but to have a Yorkshire pud that has been reheated in a microwave. Also no horseradish.
I will say I was rude to a member of staff, I was wrong to do that & I apologise.
J. E.
Comfortable rustic pub. Food was lovely and staff friendly.

Night out at the Beaufort first time for a while. Couldn’t get the app to work and no WiFi always have that trouble here think it’s just cos it’s stone walls. 2 girls behind the bar not very helpful at all.when we said couldn’t get on the app. She said well you ll have to wait about 10mins for someone to come and take your order. We ordered some food which was good, lovely young chap took our food order who was very polite very helpful. We decided to have another drink so went to the bar and asked if we could order some more drinks. Girl behind the bar said yes I’ll send someone over, even though she didn’t seem very busy, after waiting for 15 mins no sign of any service although another lady seemed to get her drink straight away . After 15 mins we gave up. Young man who had served our food said Thankyou and good night.. I said to the girl behind the bar we’ve given up waiting for our drink she gave a sickly smile and said bye. I could understand if the pub was busy but it wasn’t and while we were waiting to take our food orders the 2 bar staff (both females) were behind the bar chatting to each other. I have been coming here for years last time another lady was happy to take our orders when all 3 of us couldn’t get on the app. Really disappointed in the attitude of the 2 female bar staff not friendly or helpful at all. But fair play to the man who took our food order very polite and food was good. Will give it a miss for a bit hopefully have some new bar staff by then, shame nice pub which we usually go to quite regularly a never had a problem before
J. H.
The Beaufort Arms has a cosy local community feel. The food selection is more than adequate and served in a timely manner- tasty.
A good selection of well kept Real Ale.
Wednesday evening is quiz night -a really well organised session with prizes.
R. E.
A nice little boozer right on the Green. Toilets need some work but other than that it's always been a decent stop off for a cold pint.
A. T.
Excellent, time limited but we will need to get there again soon.
C. L.
A good atmosphere and excellent bar service. We had a Sunday lunch, busy but fine. I tried the trio meat dish - fantastic beef, okay on the turkey and pork. (See a picture of the dish in the pictures section) One minor gripe was that the roast potatoes were at best - only average. Nevertheless an all round good experience
S.
Food is great service great very nice place
M. C.
Great pub, Great staff, good selection of beers and lagers
j. R.
Been here many times good ale selection pub food excellent very friendly staff
D. B.
Nice place, good food and bier.
D. C.
Very good value for money friendly staff nice atmosphere
H. C.
The food is pretty robust, standard pub stuff, but the portions are decent, the quality is good, the service is quick, and the prices are low. The staff are friendly and helpful. Drinks are reasonably cheap too. The place can get really busy on fri/sat nights as there are few other pubs to go to. The crowd is mostly local working folk (majority men), but also older people, families, couples - this mix gives it a nice friendly atmosphere without which it could feel a little rough round the edges. They often have alternative sports on the TVs which is fun.
Negatives: you sometimes get the odd bloke who's a bit too tipsy and matey which I find uncomfortable, the music is a bit too prevalent and sometimes too loud for me while eating/conversing, and the toilets are a bit tired.
W. R.
I didn't have food, so can't score them on that. They have plenty of space. Comfy chairs and sofas as well as table seating. Pet friendly.
A good range of beers. I had the St Austell brewery Tribute. It was superbly kept, full of flavour and character.
C.
All ways great for beer, staff are friendly,.food is average, been drinking there for over 18 years
s.
We really enjoyed our visit here. However as local residents we are really disappointed that our daughter and her two young boys went for meal after she had picked boys up and finished work. Your staff and food were great, your locals weren't so nice. Staff commented how good the boys were but you have some very ill mannered adults in there. She now feels like she can never go in again. Sad times. I won't change my original rating because for us and family food and staff were lovely.
K. P.
Food was good but both drinks had s chemical/detergent taste to them. They replaced them with new glasses but still the same taste, so ended up with no drink just food.
N. B.
We ate there fine fish and chips. I loved it.
A. H.
Nice local lively pub. Good selection of beers also.
C. U.
Always a friendly atmosphere for both family and friends. A busy pub with outside space too we have had meals here many times over the last 4 years and have always enjoyed them.Even after recent changes to the menu.
Wednesday Quiz night is a challenge and always popular. I would recommend this to all locals or visitors alike.
A. T.
A nice drinking pub. As it is the only one in the village it has a good community hub feel. Good selection of real ales on tap. Food is ok but nothing ground breaking, though the menu has been recently expanded.
S. B.
If you have a little while to kill before a train then this is a good spot and only a few minutes walk away. The staff behind the bar are fast at serving as well as being friendly. Best of all they remember previous orders which makes you feel valued and almost a regular!
There’s loads of seating with tables as well as plenty of space at the bar and everywhere is clean. It wasn’t the warmest of days when we visited so it was a delight for the open fire to be lit and the whole place was really cosy. It felt like a well run place and somewhere that is the centre of the community. I’d be happy returning whether on my own or even with the family for a nice meal. There’s some nice seating outside for the summer months and although it’s in a prime location it’s quiet enough to be relaxing too.
F. I.
Nice local pub with a friendly ambient.
They serve food and you will see families with kids in the place.
They have a nice variety of food and drinks at quite reasonable prices.
Sport channels are also available.
A nice parking space also makes things a lot easier.
Probably one of the best options in the area.
D. M.
My first pub visited since lockdown. Crowded, lively, good service. What we have all been missing!
A. N.
Great local chain pub, now lockdown restrictions are lifting its good to see ordering at your table is still an option.
P. J. P. L. M.
Good Choice Of Real Ale.
Popes Pumps Glasses Clean.
Staff Friendly Sociable Attentive Despite It Being Busy. Other Customers are also Friendly Sociable and also Customer / People Friendly. No Hostility to The New Face, Stranger Etc. All You Need as Well as All You Could Expect. Good Beer Both in Choice Temperature Presentation and Cameradory. Faultless in My Opinion. Congratulations to Manager Staff and Ember Inns. A.K.A. Mitchell and Butler. 👍💥💖😇🙏😈👌
R. T.
Having collected family members from Bristol Parkway just around the corner, signed in my car's registration number, ordered my family members drinks, time to survey the beers on offer. Beside the regular beers there is a frequently changing selection of brews which one is welcome to sample.
That is one piece of the jigsaw of service, friendliness and ambience which qualifies my rating.
Besides, there is a new lay-out which has freshened up the place.
A fifth discount on Mondays.
Need I bang on?
J. H.
Went in for Sunday roast, found the food reasonable for the price. However sold the trio of meats but only 2 meats came- apparently I was told- but I was told there was one portion left.
Went back to the til to add on the puddings for £2, but charged full price. Told that they couldn't honour the offer as it was a separate transaction. I never order puddings until I've eaten the main as I never know if i fancy one. Had a 10 minute argument with the bloke behind the bar, who finally gave in. Complete Idiot
T. H.
Loads of tables, great menu choices, always busy, great service. Proper pub with a village feel right on the green. If only there was a local cricket team to complete the view on a lazy Sunday afternoon!
R. O.
Good food and beer, table service via the app, great venue
N. C.
We came today, a party of four for the first time and I can say we will definitely be back 😁. Atmosphere was great and the 3 course Sunday lunch was amazing. If I had to make any complaint it would be food service was a little slow but not a real issue. Many thanks for a wonderful lunch. See ya all soon 😁
J. W.
Love this pub always inviting..great food and nice atmosphere
N. T.
Big, cosy warm pub. Great food(very nice piece of gammon) & attentive & helpful staff. Food served quickly & hot, always a good starting point. Location is quiet, decor is OK & the venue is clean. Would visit again if out this way.
H. L.
This is my local and comes recommended. Always busy especially on a sunny Friday when it's hard to get a seat outside! Good selection of real ales which get changed so you get to try different ones and they are usually well poured. Menu has lots of choices so we always bring visitors here for a drink and a bite to eat. Prices are reasonable. The outside is in some need of TLC however. The tables need a good clean and the windows in particular have cracked paint which isn't very nice to look at if sitting outside.
D. G.
Busy Friday night, barman took the time to get us seated and help with ordering. Really friendly and helpful. Food was great and well priced. Great value. If they weren't 5,300 miles from home if be here every Friday or Saturday night.
A. H.
Great visit to the Beaufort Arms today. Welcoming team, Smiles all round. Personal service from the manager too!
T. b.
Good food, great beer, friendly staff
C. S.
Good selection of beers on tap. Friendly bar staff. Didn't have any food so can't comment on that. The toilets need restoration though, hence the 4 star rating.
E. G.
As my local pub, I frequently attend the Beaufort Arms and it is a perfectly good place to have a few drinks and to have a meal. With good prices on both food and drink it is a great place to come for a few. It isn't perfect like any pub, some of the staff can seem miserable at times and there can be minor stains on some tea cups. However if you fancy a beer and a burger come here as it is always packed and has plenty of seating available.
S. D.
Vegetarian sausages on mash in a big Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy was very tasty, and more than I could eat. The sausages were good, the mash and massive Yorkshire were excellent. The greens on the side were ok. Let down a bit by burnt onions in the gravy, and needed more gravy (but not more of those onions!)
J. G.
Interior inside is cosy and inviting and ales on offer are great. Went for the set menu. Nachos were tasty but my steak was overcooked. Daughter also ate off the kids menu but her Pizza looked liked a Tesco value mini Pizza microwaved and her beans were dry so I wouldn't order that again. Reasonably priced overall.
N. A.
This place can get busy, but we went on a Sunday evening and it was about half full
I had the Ultimate Burger which I thought was very tasty. The staff were also very helpful. Minus 1 star as there was a £1 charge for the kids activity packs
B. C.
Nice pub, good atmosphere. Food was really good too. Massive thank you to Maddie who dug through the rubbish to find my invisalign braces I'd wrapped in a serviette and thrown away with my meal. I'll be back, but this time with a box for my braces!
W. S.
The beaufort is a great pub, which I frequent with colleagues. Great food and service with a nice atmosphere. They really know how to pour a Guinness. Please be aware that for practical reasons they have had to install ANPR parking restrictions to prevent the car park being used for Bristol Parkway railway parking, so ensure to make suitable travel arrangements to avoid a ticket.
R. T.
Went for a Sunday dinner, really nice food. The meat was to die for! I haven't tasted meat like that for a long time. The only issue was the lack of available desserts. Great atmosphere and friendly staff
S. T.
Quiet pint and dinner. Chilled pub, good choice of beer at reasonable prices
C. T.
Cosy but spacious pub with real wood fires. The staff are pleasant. The pub serves food but we didn't eat. Nice decor, leather sofa, friendly atmosphere.
L. W.
Food was good. Had two guest ales as well, which was sufficient :)
L.
Good food with a nice selection of craft ale beers. Nice atmosphere, good place to take the family. I can see why it's popular with locals as well as visitors from afar.
G. C.
Very nice pub. Good food and service. Good selection of real ale.
I. B.
Staff nice enough but corporate website doesn't clearly state up front the booking of time slots. Who wants to go out for a drink and go home at 8???
F. H.
We love this local pub. It's the best in the area. The food is great and there's plenty of beer choices. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere cosy and welcoming . Really enjoy our visits here.
J. C.
Went with booked group for a lunchtime meal. Drink selection was good, as was the food selection. I ordered fish and chips, which came with the batter a little underdone. Overall the food was great though!
R. B.
Good beer selection. Staff helpful, food just like most pubs - average. The big problem is the rough stuff that can happen there with some of the clientele. Suggest don't visit on Saturday evenings
S. P.
Had a very brief visit for a drink and found it very welcoming. Looked large enough for groups of people to meet up and I should think was popular in the summer months for food etc. Reasonable size car park.
M. W.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Meals are very good and at a reasonable price.
A great little pub to wine & dine or just have a quiet drink if you wish.
M. B.
Good Pub, making a good job of current Covid Restrictions.
You can order food & drink on the APP, however not all the real ale is listed.
Can this be addressed? Then I can order on the APP
F. M.
Nice pub and good food although sometimes can be a bit boring
a. m.
Quite a few items on the menu not available and the service was not great.
w. a.
just had a meal at the pub it was ok but basic but then I only bought the cheapest meal so I cant be to critical. I looked on there menu on line and it stated that they served a brunch choice which I was looking forward to but when we got in the pub there was no brunch choice, when we got home I phoned the pub and was told they only served brunch at weekends, so peoples don't go for a brunch in the week.
I. M.
Very good service in this pub and decent beer choice. My son is a big fan of the burgers and the wings are great value
L. A.
Very friendly staff service was quick food was a good price and really nice.
R. L.
I read the reviews and wonder what people want. You get a good value menu, food well cooked and served piping hot. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Oh, and the staff are very friendly.
K.
Nice cosy very welcoming nice fire 🔥. Was here with my daughters and felt chilled 😊 👌 x
R. S.
Lovely meal (as always) and the staff are brilliant. Highly recommended.
K. S.
Very Good!!!
Bar Staff very attentive and willing to help in orders.
C. B.
Great staff with great sense of humour and great ales at great prices make this place. Large groups from nearby offices can play havoc with time to table for food orders. But hey, beer is food!
K. C.
Very good menu and food here at The Beaufort Arms the meals were served quickly and presented well and served by attentive staff - Good range of ales - Well worth a visit
G. M.
Excellent. Very good pub grub at reasonable prices with friendly and attentive staff. My parents favourite for a pleasant dinner in North Bristol.
B. M.
Took a couple of old friends in for lunch today. We all thought it was a success. Decent food, friendly staff and not expensive. The end result?we'll probably do it again before long.
R. G.
Really rather nick. Now when I say nice we're not talking sugar and spice. In contemporary context saying a place is nice is tantamount to an affirmation of at the very least possibly being exposed to the plague. NO. Colloquially, (contemporary jargon) I am lamentably going to have to place a "sick" tag on the spot. Which means, or so I'm told, that it's nice. Back to square one?
V. F.
Excellent vfm ..food very good and a good size portion. Staff friendly and very helpful .
J. C.
Love this place friendly staff a great selection of ale , they do a quiz night on a Wednesday and on a Monday all cask ale is only £2.49 a pint , The food is good with a set menu available and it has 3 fire places
A. P.
Good range of real ale, and space outside in the sun to enjoy them. Only thing that stop 5 stars for me is that there's no garden and the seating is next to a road.
H. R.
Had a takeaway Sunday roast from the Beaufort last week and it was spot on. Really good value at £9.99.
J. C.
Excellent food and service in a lovely setting. Could not fault it.
A. P.
Great food and drinks staff very pleasant. Covid safe
S. M. (. g.
A roaring fire on a cold day, lively but relaxing atmosphere. Great staff and a great place to meet friends. I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Bristol
C. S.
A lovely pub, clean and cozy with good drinks and food. The staff are friendly and the choice of inside and outside seating is good.
D. W.
Very impressed first time my wife and I have been there both meals were excellent we don't live here any more we live in Devon and we were hospital visiting but we will call again before we go back home my wife had the seabass she loved it and my sausage and mash was very tasty also a good atmosphere and friendly staff that's why we gave you five stars Derek Whittock
S. P.
One of the best pubs I've been in for a long time, the atmosphere is fantastic, the ale is perfect, the staff are amazing, went for a drink with my other half, came back 3 hours later and Sarah even remembered our drinks, a credit to your company!!!!
B. P.
i have lived in stoke giifford 24 years, and have visited beaufort inn many times over the years, the pub at the moment is really nice in decorative terms, really inviting, but after having a meal here yesterday, i know it was a 2 for 1 meal, didnt expext wonders, but what was dished up was awful, supposed to be steak and kidney pie? no meat in it only a sort of slurry gravy, looked horrible , and the peas were cold , not cooked, i know we ate most of it but i just had to bring this to your notice. I shall not ever go to Beaufort Arms, again, we were there at 4.30. perhaps you need a new chef?
U. D.
The bar is clean and nice. The staff are amazing and very friendly. Great place to go
P.
Nice, cosy pub with plenty of seating inside and out. Good quiet place for lunches, typically pub menu and a good range of drinks.
J. C.
Standard pub, very popular, good food but you can wait a while during busy periods.
C.
Excellent pub, long established Ember Inn pub. Always busy after work, which shows its a great venue. But also difficult sometimes go grab a table.
T. R.
Staff could be more attentive. Beers selection is good, but beers not kept and poured properly. Food is pretty average
C. Y.
Nice friendly pub with hard working professional staff but food portions well cooked but too small..
K.
Had the 3 course set meal there last night really nice food and piping hot, all fresh 😁
Will definitely return again.
L. J.

Nice atmosphere and good outdoor space when the sun is shining. Food and drinks are very standard pub affairs, nothing special.
J. W.
Had to Track & Trace which is normal now. Then had to download the Ember Inn's app which was ok. Good service.
