Went there last night and the lady serving was lovely!!! Very cute and sweet, I didn't catch her name but she had a star tattoo under her eye. We liked her alot. Xxx

We just enjoyed our company Christmas Dinner with drinks at our favourite Clifton Pub to complete our evening.

J. F.This is a great bar. Mainly locals, but don't let that put you off. Its a great little bar with lots of characters and always a friendly inviting atmosphere. I hear they are starting a Tapas menu next week, looking forward to trying that. Definitely recommended.

S. M.Good food, interesting space. The tapas is very good and very good value, seems to create a framework for the kitchen to experiment whilst still keeping the same menu - I've always been impressed with the taste combinations There's not a large seating area but it's pleasantly cosy yet quite sophisticated. The bar isn't large so you need to be patient when they're busy.
R. T.My modus operandi, order curry, find pub, have a pint, collect curry, take it home. Due to Covid, pub choices limited. Pre Covid I've always avoided the Brunel because of its in your face clientele. Well ! Any port in a storm so I've had occasion to use the pub ( sorry, wine bar ) ( sorry, gastropub ) twice recently. On the 1st occasion 6X on the 2nd Horizon, both beers beautifully presented and, for Clifton, very well priced.
Ignore Toad of Toad Hall, challenge any preconceptions and give it a try.
M. M.This is a TARDIS of a pub with a small bar but plenty of room at the back. It is and has the feel of a local - even to those who just pop in whilst waiting for family to finish shopping! Dog friendly too.
P. R.On a very cold January day we got a warm welcome and a hot mug of mulled cider , returning the next night for more of the same. Very friendly staff and lovely beer, thanks for making 4 Geordies welcome.
