I had a veggie lasagne, it was very flat and the edges were all chewy, but it was tasty enough. We went on the first day it opened, staff were starting to get back into the swing of things, which is understandable. The manager told off a member of staff in the middle of the floor in front of lots of customers, which I don't feel was needed, especially not in a public space.

For drinks it is a lovely pub but went for food with the family and their were complaints all round the table, burgers were over cooked, on of the steaks over cooked 2 others over seasoned so much so the outer layer had to be cut off just to eat it and the gammon was far to salty couldn't even be eaten. I understand this was an off peak time that I visited but when spending nearly £100 I would of expected better.

The Huntsman is a large venue, with plenty of tables and space. The menu is extensive and varied to suit everyone’s needs. The guy that served our drinks and food was extremely friendly and efficient, especially as he seemed to be the only person working front of house. The food was excellent. I recommend the pasta Alfredo.

My local pub with great lash (my favourite Thatchers Haze!!) great food, Matt the manager friendly and funny man and his staff (bar and kitchen) are great and are always pleased to see people. Brilliant atmosphere where everyone is welcome.

I enjoyed my visit but I was disappointed when I tried to order two main courses bit both weren't available. Then after my main course I tried to order two desserts and they weren't available either. This was annoying and would put me off visiting again. The staff were quite friendly (some more than others). I rang ahead to book a table but on arrival was told they don't reserve tables which I thought was odd. Also they forgot part of my order!

Had some difficulty ordering food over phone app, so staff took order personally. Food good for price. Not too busy but perhaps due to being early Sunday evening and with Covid social distancing in place. Personally I do not like the music in the background, but I'm sure many people do appreciate that. Good place to go for reasonably priced food. There were a couple of video type game machines for young children. Quite family friendly as far as I can see. My three star rating probably reflects my tastes rather than the place itself. I can't fault it for anything.

Opted to eat out today and try the '£6 any pizza Tuesdays offer' in the Huntsmen. This is the meaty pizza and it tasted lovely. It's usual price is £10.95 and to be honest its worth every penny. Lovely pizza and I'll be back to try some others in the future.

Had a meal with freinds here at the weekend. We all enjoyed our food, I had a lovely ' squeaky clean' burger and also tasted a freinds 🍕 which tasted of nice fresh dough. The service was very prompt . Only downside is that the ladies toilets need some repairs, the door on one of them didn't lock properly and toilet seat coming off the other! Overall, Great value and will be returning definitely.

We nearly didn't go here due to so many bad reviews on here, but due to having had such a good experience today, I thought a should leave a top review. We went with friends as a group of 8 with 2 young families. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, the menu is extensive and very cheap, and the kids menu is extensive and cheap also. The food was fine. I mean it's a cheap family eatery pub, don't go there for fine dining, but the food on offer was well cooked, fresh and tasty, and was delivered out in a timely manner. On the day in question though there was am excellent face painter there and a magician, all free of charge, which with 4 kids 7 and under in tow, was just brilliant. We will definitely be going there again some time.

The word "Generous" in the name is echoed in the quantity of food presented. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the menu offers something for everyone. We were in a party of 15, so I took everyone's drink and food order and placed the order at the bar under one table number. Ordering was quick and easy and we were provided trays to carry the drinks back to the table. A minute or so after the food order was placed a member of staff approached us just to confirm everything on the order, which was a nice touch. A short while after, the food started to be delivered to the table. Wow! Plate after plate after plate, with no delays. All of us had our food, totally correct, piping hot and perfect. The quality of the food was fantastic, nobody could complain about anything. Also, even though we ordered alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks, the cost was still only about £10 a head. A fantastic place to eat, will definitely be returning soon :-)

The refurbishment on this property has meant that my overall experience has bettered and means the quality of food has increased. The introduction of additional staff members means that my food order was taken quickly and efficiently, but with my own additions and changes to food orders if required. The food is all amazing and I couldn't recommend it anymore. The only issue I really have is that the pub doesn't serve Kopparberg, however this was made up for as they served similar flavored ciders.

Popped in to watch the rugby on Saturday morning at 07.00, it was a good atmosphere, had a coffee and a breakfast and after 2 pints. Also went in the pub on Sunday. Had the car washed over the road had a pint. The staff in the huntsman are very welcoming and friendly.

When it first re-opened as Generous George it was excellent but it has gone downhill both the food and the service. The staff are alright but certainly not enough of them serving. The food is hit and miss. The burgers and pizzas are lovely. The egg on the cooked breakfast looked like plastic it was so overcooked.

Went to the Huntsman and wasn’t that impressed with the steak the out side was quite charcoal but inside that the steak was ok, there was a lot of watery juice on the plate which made the chips a bit soggy and the mushroom had a strange twang to it. The staff did ask if everything was ok with the meal which I replied to yes this was before realising the steak and the charcoal butter taste, I was so hunger so ate it all. Then had the tiramisu which the sponge was very bitty and not soft it was like it was kinda stale or something. When asking the staff to change it for something else they did so straight away. The toilets arnt the nicest and could do with a revamp especially the toilet seats. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout and couldn’t fault them.

I'm afraid the change from a carvery to "Generous George" has not been for the better. It wasn't the best carvery in the Bristol area but it was good value. Now it's just lowest common denominator pub-grub with a menu heavily slanted towards burgers and pizza. I had a half roast chicken that was o.k. but I doubt the chicken was ever big enough to have laid an egg! It's o.k. but the "Sizzler" chain do pub-grub better.
