A hidden gem 💎 Most delicious burger and fries ever!! They currently have a great deal on for £10 - huge burger, huge portion of fries, coleslaw and pork scratchings, and a pint INCLUDED! Seems like a well run pub,l admit l only went for the music, Archalia was the chosen view of the night,not missing that!.l digress,The pub,l would say caters for a wide age group......even as old as me,comfy sofas to park yourself in whilst very good view of the band.Small but adequate dance area,outside areas to sit and chat and a very generous size car park.A little pricey for pensioners like myself but that the trend now in these costly times.Staff were courteous and reasonably friendly,very efficient but another body to help behind the bar would aid the waiting experience.All in all l would give it two thumbs up and a yes vote.Will l visit again? when a pub hosts the likes of Archalia and l was told Mike Bess the night before then their musical credentials are assured in my book.Eell done,The Old Mill.

As visitors from Devon, we found The Old Mill purely by chance as we didn't want a standard hotel or supermarket breakfast. We both had the vegetarian full English, which was super delicious! It had two of the most tasty vegetarian sausages I have ever had, as well as wilted spinach, avocado, lovely baked beans with a smokey taste, mushroom, tomato, two perfectly fried eggs and a slice of toasted ciabatta. The service and atmosphere was also excellent. We will definitely return to The Old Mill the next time we are in Portishead 😃

This place reopened in December under new management. I have eaten there now more than once and have enjoyed every mail ordered, loving the Lamb Roll that is served on the lunch menu. The kids meals are great and my little ones had no complaints at all. You need to have a Sunday roast here OMG it is the best in the area by a long way. The range of beers and other drinks are extensive and at a very good price point. The lady’s on the table next to use seemed very happy with their cocktails. The staff are lovely and very helpful, my youngest knocked over his drink and it was no trouble at all for them to clean it up and replace it for him. It is dog friendly too which means our little four-legged family member does not have to be excluded and left out in the cold. Will be back again and again, highly recommend.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. They had Otter ale being served, as well as ciders and larger on tap. Polite staff and there was space to sit. Chips were lovely and homemade. Ham was cut thick and the fish had a lovely light beer batter. Reasonable prices.

Limited menu but the food was good although my wife said her chips were dry and my son in law left his so he obviously didn't think much of them either. My pasta was great and my daughter ate her chilli so we at least were happy. Puddings were very much to our taste steam puddings and custard went down a storm while I went for a lighter option a trio of ice cream which was lovely. Prices were good and the service excellent. I enjoyed the meal, the pub and thought the staff were welcoming and very pleasant and accommodating. A good experience

Lovely Sunday roast before the England vs Italy Euro 2020 -good sized TV, seats in view of the TV and well socially distanced. The pub has lovely decor, comfy seats and good food. The staff were fantastic, really quick to serve and clear away empty glasses great local pub!

Went here for our work Christmas meal, and the service was amazing! Special thanks to the bar staff: Paige, Jamie, Hannah and Anna who were all very polite, helpful and delivered brilliant service and accommodated all of our needs. The food was good, could’ve been a bit hotter but understandable why it wasn’t due to it being a large group of us. Inside it is all very nice and cosy and outsides heated smoking area is a bonus! Price is a little bit expensive drinks wise however the food we felt was well priced. Would recommend!

Lovely social pub with a good selection of beers and food. While we where their they did have a issue with their till but trusted us to come back later and pay for the drinks we ordered. We used a function room for a meeting which was a nice size and was a reasonably quite space away from the main bar.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. We had a sharing starter which was great. He had steak, rare, cooked to perfection, and I had the chicken breast with bacon and cheese which was lovely. The bottle of water brought to the table is a nice touch. We found the prices affordable and fair. The customer service was great. A couple of points I'd like to make though; the food was good but just far too much. And the plastic plants on the tables need to go.

Under new management, this great central venue with parking is a must go to for drinks and brilliant fresh cooked locally sourced food. The newly installed pizza ovens where they hand throw freshly made fermented semolina flour base pizzas, with interesting toppings ... are just great. Then there’s the burgers made with 28 day aged beef. Steak options just as good. We’ll be back. Thanks

I called at 10am and organised a last minute get together for my friends birthday at 7.30pm. Nothing was a problem the staff made the evening very special and couldn't do more to help. The buffet was delicious and well worth the money. We had some guests with learning difficulties and a wheelchair user and again the staff could not have been more helpful. The space/access was a great size for our wheelchair using guest . Can't wait to return .Thanks so much for a fantastic evening :)) x

What a lovely surprise! A local that really is "a local" and with good food and a wonderful history. Very kind, welcoming, obliging staff and atmosphere. Our gripe was, perhaps because of our ages, the rather loud crowd noise caused not by riotous behaviour but by the attractive architecture of the place: beautiful wood floors and high ceilings do not absorb sound. We will definitely ho there again. Excellent for family groups, celebrations, etc. Food slightly more expensive than some, though each of us enjoyed out choices. The three of us shared a starter of deep fried jackfruit balls with salsa. A vegan dish completely nre to usbut very tasty! From the varied menu our choices were gravadlax salmon salad whichlooked generously proportioned and delicious; sausage and mash, described as good and my chicken supreme with Queen asparagus,lovely. We asked for coffee but decaf not available. However, and this is the most impressive part, the staff were more than willing to provide us with tea pots of hot water for us to use the emergency fruit teabags I carry!! (No charge for the cups etc) well done The Old Mill!

Fantastic food and great customer service. The vegetarian and vegan choice is like nowhere else I've been, and the bbq jackfruit burger I had was very tasty. Looking forward to returning and trying the tofish burger! My husband had a steak and he said it was perfectly cooked. Would recommend for a meal and evening out. Good music playing as well!

Popped in here today for some food and was so impressed with the veggie and vegan options! The fried jackfruit balls were amazing, as was the "tofish and chips" burger. Nice chilled vibe at the bar and tasty drinks. Also the barman/manager is gorgeous, which doesn't hurt ;)

No real ales on tap, Guinness had ran out, and poor selection of lagers on tap. Some variety in bottled beers but again choice poor compared to other pubs in area. This place is crying out for local real ale. Ambiance was a bit flat, and decor rather uninteresting. Probably won't bother returning until at least the summer so we can explore the reasonable looking beer garden.

Just the right atmosphere for being our with a friend for a catch up and having a quick meal (I.e. we could actually hear each other) but at the same time being able to have a few drinks out on a Friday night. Whilst recently visiting friends in Bristol we took a trip to Portishead to see another friend and we very pleased with our choice of visiting The Old Mill! A couple of very friendly bar staff welcomed our whole group instantly making us feel very welcome. A couple of us like real ales and so the bar man set away enthusiastically telling us all about his current selection, my mother and fiance had a Timothy Taylor, it was a very good pint, the second one was just as good! We weren't planning to eat but after seeing some of the food come out we thought we would. The pulled BBQ jackfruit burger and the fish and chips went down very well with our group. The way the staff interacted with us and all of the other customers was really lovely and created an atmosphere where we all felt we enjoying the pub together. Would definitely go again!!

We visited the old mill bar as part of a family celebration and we really enjoyed the food here. I had the fish and chips, as did my wife and son our other son had a pasta dish. We all throughly enjoyed our meals and would go back again.

This was a real surprise. Myself and my sister and brother in law went to The Old Mill on Sunday (17th February), not really expecting what we got which was an outstanding and really quite amazing Sunday Lunch. The new decor is far more cosy than it was, the service and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding.The Lunch was divine, My sister and I had the Beetroot infused cured salmon starter, stunning, my brother in law had the mushroom arancini, again lovely. For main I went with roast beef, exceptional, cooked to order! My sister and brother in law went with the lamb, again cooked to your liking, they said it was lovely. The vegetables were beautifully cooked and plentiful, the gravey was rich and delicious, full of flavour. We were sadly to full to take sweets but we did share an outstanding, very varied cheese board. What a stunning Sunday Lunch. We will be back again very soon. Thank you.

I have made a comment to you before.... About charging me 2 different prices for the same lager beer And to add further.. Charging me more for the bbq Than advertised. Also didn't say, now I will!! Wasn't what I expected. Neither a mill, nor old. There is faux grass outside the back. There are also benches where you can sit down and drink beer. They call this a 'beer garden'. You have a good view of the Town Hall from here. You can't see Aldis though because there is a wall blocking it.
