Marked it down to 3 stars from 5. Food is very hit and miss, you forgive it for the prices but it's gone from being OK/alright to Alright/not edible recently. You can tell they are under-staffed most of the time and while they used to keep the place tidy, it's often down to the customers having to tidy up from the previous ones now. Its budget dining and pubbing, the app ordering is good so that is how its kept its 3 stars.

It's a Wetherspoons and you know what you are getting... but that said I'm struggling to find fault from our visit today. We hadn't planned to come here today and were slightly concerned when we arrived how busy it was; we needn't have been. We used the app to order (which we found easy to navigate and use) and were surprised to see our drinks arrive within minutes of sending it through. The food followed very soon after. We were both pleased with our meals from the comprehensive menu (which you come to expect from Wetherspoons) and again would struggle to find issue with what was presented to us, despite the reasonable price. The service and staff were friendly. The venue was welcoming in the usuual weatherspoons way; there are better outlooks at other nearby restaurants, but that is nitpicking. The toilets were clean and there were adequate changing facilities. We went away happy.

Great for a place to drop into and get a good range of reasonably priced food. The place is always busy on a Saturday lunchtime and free seats are few and far between, but that is to be expected. Food and drinks arrived quickly and ordered easily enough through the wetherspoons app. We will be back again soon. 4 out of 5 stars as the tables always need clearing, but again, turnover is fast and staff always arrive quickly to sort once their attention is raised.

Pros. Was really busy when we visited with our family. Found us a table quickly and apologised for it not being clean. Didn't wait long for our orders to arrive and the server was attentive and helpful when the boys asked for more sauces. Well priced. Varied menu. Meal deals are worth going in for. Cons. Lose a star for there being many tables full of used plates, cutlery etc. Didn't like the fact there were about 8 smokers stood outside blocking the exit as we tried to leave. Not pleasant especially when you're with kids. All in all we'll be back shortly!

First time in there last weekend, a large pub, very busy and quite noisy. Didn't have food as Wetherspoons fayre tends to be pretty much the same in all outlets (not so cheap any more and not that great!) The beer however was well kept, served at the right temperature and competitively priced. Three stars as NO Wetherspoons pub is worth any more!

If your looking for a quiet, friendly atmosphere for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal you could do a lot worse. Reasonable prices and a good variety of drinks on offer. The Food was well cooked and ordering was quick and easy using the app. Free refills on tea or coffee and 2 for 1 offers available all day. Power sockets available for a relaxed business breakfast or lunch.

Came for a meal. There was an error with order as wanted 3 small plates as a starter. But 3 plates weren't put through & would be charged for 3rd plate. Waiting for starters our mains came first. When starters came a manager came over & told of problems ordering said would give 3rd plate free. Eventually had 3rd plate came. Waited quite some time for mains to which the very helpful Ryan (deserves 5 stars for friendliness and great customer service) commented to manager we had been waiting some time for food. Offered a free dessert. Awethe main wasn't great ask for a drink instead.

This is one of the nicer Wetherspoons. It's not huge, but feels bigger than it is because of the high ceiling. There's a lovely fire in the middle (fake logs but real flame). Food was fine - I had a veggie burger, which is of the breadcrumbed, spicy beanburger type, not the imitation meat type, and arrived at our table in about 5 minutes. The adjacent car park normally allows free parking for up to 2 hours, but if you enter your vehicle reg in a console at the bar, it extends to 5 hours, so you won't feel rushed.

We visited another wetherspoons this week. Much much better. The Posset Cup needs to up its game.

Only one person on the floor at 1:45pm on a Sunday meaning lots of tables not being cleared, we had to sit at a dirty table and move the plates and glasses to one side and they were not cleared until we were brought our food. The poor person on the floor was working her socks off, felt sorry for her. Quality of food was OK although butter came out melted as had been sat on a hotplate in the kitchen and fried eggs were hard. More attention to detail needed by the management here and it could be a great pub.

Our first visit to wetherspoons. Very nice purpose built pub. Food very good value most meals including a drink or only £1 extra for a pint. The pitcher cocktails great value. Nice spoons, nice spot with great food in the evening and for breakfast next day! The bar is moderately priced (as is the way with spoons), and they even allow you to order to the table through the westherspoons app. They are a tad on the slow side with app purchases though - if you want something right away, go to the bar. The evening entertainment is questionable, the sun comes through the windows giving a glorious look to the place (but if you're sitting at one of the roundtables you'll certainly get nice and hot!) but all in all a recommendable spot.

The place is pleasant enough and the food is bearable but you do get a feeling of a conveyor belt system operating here. Typical Wetherspoons fare...nice clean and well kept building. Good prices and a pleasant location next to the Portishead Travelodge. Good easy car parking available. Very hard working staff. It is located close to the marina so is great for a post walk warm up.. Or a post reunion breakfast....the staff have been helpful in preparation for my reunion in May and we will be using it to feed my former merchant navy colleagues on the morning after the reunion.

First vist too the posset cup Fry up friday Wetherspoons always a good breakfast Walked in through door to a table area taped off broken tables?? Only one person serving And she came across as she didn't want to be there . Breakfast ok Bacon was probably Cooked about 1hour before and kept under heat lamps ☹

I work nearby and we've been on a number of occasions for a Thursday or Friday lunchtime pint and food but can never get a seat. Shame as the beer is good here. Probably the smallest Wetherspoons I've been in. They need seating upstairs. If they could accommodate more seating then I'd rate it higher.

We frequent this place on a regular basis and either come in for lunch or breakfast most weekends. We always bring our 2 kids with us and the Staff are always friendly. The Food is always great value and a good standard for what you pay. Would like to say a thank you to Nettie down there as well, she always recognises us and goes out of here way to say hello to the kids and ask how there are. Visited with a small group of friends - with me being the only non meat eater among us - on Sunday afternoon. The main thing I was impressed with was the extensive vegetarian and vegan menu. Its not often we vegans get a specific menu in a mainstream chain. I ordered the quinoa salad, which I don't recommend as it was very chilled and not what I was expecting. However, it hasn't put me off, I probably ordered wrongly for the time of year! I'm scoring this place highly due to its options and the effort they've made to cater for veggies, vegans, including a vegan crumble dessert (which is virtually unheard of in a mainstream place). Well done Wetherspoon's.

Your standard Weather Spoons, fast service with the app and really nice food. The only problem with the Posset Cup is that it's quite small and on most Saturday and Sunday evenings if you arrive past 7PM your not getting a table and on top of this there's isn't really anywhere to wait for a table to become free.

Breakfast on Saturday morning, very limited menu from our previous visit. Chose the small vegetarian breakfast, it arrived with a baked hard egg that was brown on top, congealed baked beans and a hard baked Quorn sausage. My guess is that it was under a heat lamp for a while. Complained and given a replacement egg but by then most of the breakfast was eaten.

The Posset Cup is part of the Wetherspoon Group, and it is in Mustad Way Unit 3 Portishead BS20 7QZ England The menu covers a great selection and the prices are good. I found this place by accident but I must say I’m glad I did. I now use it at least 1 to 2 times a month and each time I have gone there we have took other friends. Everyone that we have took loves the Posset Cup, we have always had a great service the the food has always been great. If you download there App if you haven’t already it makes things even easier. By this I mean you can order your food and drinks from your table without having to go up to the bar. Also if you have parked in the Carpark you get so many hours. But when you go in the Posset Cup there is a machine close to the bar where you can put your registration in and get up to 5 hours parking. So why not give it ago you will not be disappointed. Be careful, the parking has a time limit and, as it uses ANPR technology, just a couple of minutes over and you will receive a fine in the post!
