Reviews of V-Shed - JD Wetherspoon
p. b.
Excellent location overlooking the quay.
Very popular with younger clientele.
I had an ale (see photo) which was okay and enjoyed the atmosphere. Nicely designed with good outdoor space and three tiered.
Certainly a contender for best spoons in Bristol, although not too impressive with the choice of ales
K. T.
I really liked this place the service was great the food was great and great value I'm a fussy eater and I like just plain cheese burger which was no hassle for them to do that also I like J20 in a pint glass topped off with lemonade wich was also no problems.
The food was quick the person who brought the food over I asked for salt and vinegar he went and got it for me and told me wear everything was if I needed anything else which was helpful.
I really enjoyed my visit and it's such a great location on the harbour side.
What is stopping me from giving the 5 stars on this place was how wobbly the table and chairs was although it was on the dancefloor area I'm guessing could be caused by being moved about alot also the table numbers I was on table 9 wich I thought was a 6 but apparently it's a common issue that's causes alot of confusion.
Other than that I really enjoyed my visit and really hope to return again soon.

Great selection of well poured beers. Friendly and fast service, as you expect at a ‘Spoons. Stunning location on the canal with a great vibe. Two pints (Cider & Guinness) for under £6. Tons of meal deals and rapid table service. Huge place with cracking beer garden (split into smoking & non smoking). Can’t wait to go back.
C. W.
The V-Shed is a great Wetherspoons on Bristol Harbourside. Some of its third floor windows have good views. There is a bar on the ground floor and one on the top floor. Food tends to be served quickly.
G. B.
Great harbour side pub with all the best of wetherspoon hospitality. Nice decor but it's all about the outside space here.
C. e.
Great value for money beers, happy evening all round.3rd floor bar staff very helpful and friendly
G.
There is outside seating but a lot of smoking goes on thee. It's a good vibe down at the harbour. There's some character to the pub and you're never a stranger in Wetherspoons. The Manager had an awkward situation with a customer who had a big dog. Dogs aren't allowed in v shed or in the seating outside and the owner was not at all happy about being asked to leave. I thought the Manager handled it really well and was apologetic but firm. There's not quite as many good pints available on tap as there is at the commercial rooms but I still prefer v shed
C. A.
During peak times this wetherspoons is usually rammed with young students getting their pitchers and cheap pints, but if that doesn't bother you this spoons is in quite a nice location being on the harbour side next to lots of other nice pubs and restaurants. The inside is relatively spacious and has an upstairs area.
F. W.
Yummy brunch - was only place we could get the yummy yummy. I mean its a spoon take it or leave it
s. m.
Sorry to say one of the worst spoons and we've been to absolutely loads.
Not enough seating especially on the first and second floor. Very loud inside when we visited. It's only because it's in the city centre. I think it could be better designed inside as it's in a fantastic location. Great spoons prices of course.
C. S.
The girl who served me was really friendly. The location is great, overlooking the water. However, my eggs benedict was not good at all, it was like it had been sat for ages, it was not even luke warm, and the hollandaise sauce has split. Also, I ordered an apple juice but ended up with orange, not a massive deal though.
J. B.
It's ok for what it is.
Had a beyond burger and turned out to be pretty small but very good. Watch out as on weekends it's packed with drunkards and lads.
Staff is relaxed/don't care. Which can be a good or bad thing.
D. F.
Went on a very busy Saturday afternoon but service was quick and food was good quality. Could have done with a few more staff to clear tables.
J.
All in all a nice pub. The food is reasonably priced, good offers on drinks. Can get a little crowded at night
j. n.
I would have given them five stars, but one member of staff was rather abrupt!
Everything else was spot on, the staff (all but one) really seemed to be enjoying their jobs and looking after customers.
The situation where I felt I was treated abruptly was as follows:
When you buy tea, you get free refills. Amazing! Anyway, the machine had a notice on it saying that it wouldn’t work for coffee or hot milk but was fine for hot water. I couldn’t get it to work. Thinking that it was just me being dim I asked a guy behind the bar. “It doesn’t work!” I was told in an abrupt tone. I pointed out it had a notice on it saying it was fine for hot water but I didn’t know how to operate it and again I got “it doesn’t work!” In an abrupt tone. No further advice was given.
I found a cheery woman who had originally brought our drinks to us and she told us there was hot water behind the bar! At least we were given another option. She also said there was a machine upstairs. Just don’t know why the guy behind the bar had to act like he was peeved off and not tell us about other options.
Food was good, I used the app to order, so much easier as I had a two year old with me
A. D.
Hugely versatile place, catering to many different levels of customers. Especially love the signs, "Do not leave food unattended due to seagulls". This doesn't just count for leaving it unattended at your table, but also do not look away from your food for too long, especially if you have chips - they will take advantage and swoop in and steal some before you are able to react! We were here for an hour and saw it happen! The place itself is nicely laid out and the food was excellent. They have vegan menus and also gluten free menus, so cater for a wide variety of diearty requirements. The food is cheap and you can order from the app so that it comes to your table without any need for human interaction at all. Sitting outside in the sunshine enjoying breakfast was just perfect.
G.
Nice staff, typical spoons. Only issue is it's always REALLY COLD! Bring a jumper and gloves if you want to sit inside.
J. E.
Toilets up 2 flights of stairs. Good views. Fab children's menu.
K. R.
Reasonable prices. Food was good but service in the kitchen let it down a little. But would definitely go back. Can honestly say the sirloin steak was a lot nicer and tastier than millar and Carter and a whole lot cheaper
T. H.
Nice fish and chips on a good price as always!
R. B.
The food was good, the ambience good..the beer was good...and the price was wonderful, just as it always is with Wetherspoons. This particular Wetherspoons has two bars, a dance floor and wonderful views of Bristol's historic docks with its rippling water and bobbing boats...the outside seating area, facilitates a place to smoke and enhances the ambience of the place...its a great Wetherspoons..we enjoyed it.
D. T.
A regular Spoons with the usual crusty boomer daytime patrons regaling anyone who'll listen with how life was better 'in the good old days' and the typical fruit machine addict. But hey that's every spoons for you....
Service was great from the gothic/alternative lass at the bar, pouring a perfect Guinness. Breakfast butty with a load of add ons came out pretty quick and was scoffed equally quickly.
Overall a nice place to swing by for breakfast and a pint on the day off :D
M.
It's a spoons, except this one, they don't bring you your drinks when ordered on the app and leave them dumped on the side, even though the staff were standing around, and the place was near empty. Very much a "not my job" attitude.
D. M.
Good spoons. Do need to get there early if you want to get a table and avoid paying an entrance fee
K. S.
Typical Weatherspoons. Great position. Good cheap food and drinks, good service, clean and well presented.
L. K.
We went in this pub while attending the Harbour Festival in Bristol. It is a good Wetherspoons. We have had a problem or two with food, but the manager has always sorted it for us. The location cannot be faulted, overlooking the Marina.
M.
Food ok but they were not wiping down and cleaning the tables or chairs after people had left only clearing them of plates which is a bit worrying.
H.
A weatherpoons/nightclub! Cheap drinks, free entry and a dj & dancefloor?? Why hasn't this been done anywhere else?! Ok it's not exactly a classy establishment but you could have a great night out here.
R. B.
Great location. In terms of food, drinks and facilities you know what you'll get. Service was not great sadly, despite it being really quiet when visiting
J. C.
It's a spoons. Always busy, all food available not all drinks on this day but viable alternatives. Staff not super quick but very friendly and helpfull.
D. H.
Very impressed- as always, staff working very hard during the Harbour Festival serving everyone quickly with a smile. Food looked great and price for drinks excellent.
r. M.
This place is the best pre drink venue it's like a club on the weekends but that don't matter I go there to get drunk then go to nearby clubs to get wasted the cheapest drinks round if ur like me and cant afford the extortionate prices at any other club in bristol go here first
E. A.
Great location, great prices, good food, good service... Nice and chilled for meeting for coffee during the week and then on the weekend very vibey
M. D.
Great place, tasty food, had the lasagne very good and great friendly staff but very under pressure. Busy bank holiday Sunday .
A. T.
Absolutely top gaf. The bouncer, Dan is a top lad too. Saw him save an entire family from drowning in the canal. Will be returning shortly
T. K.
Great place, simple food and easy to order via the app. Always friendly staff🫶
m. f.
Good price and the food is really great
G. H.
We go in here every time we visit Bristol, we were a minute late for breakfast and couldn't get one, then the pizza I chose wasn't available, today was not my day lol, but the jacket potato hit the spot and the pint of Coors was perfect
J. H.
A Wetherspoon's pub with lots of indoor seating and a busy outdoor area. There are great views of the harbourside. It is very popular, probably because it is cheaper than many nearby establishments. Beware of hungry seagulls!
R. C.
Food comes out fast and tastes good for a spoons. Disappointed the beer doesn't come in it's correct glass, just standard glasses.
Always busy but can always find a seat.
A. C.
Good range of food which was nicely presented and cooked. Great value for money .
J. M.
Good food but omg the floor was so sticky my shoes kept sticking to the floor needs a good clean x
T. S.
Typical wetherspoon but with a nice out look on to the Dock , staff wer nice , wat more can you say.
p. D.
It was good value food cooked perfectly and within a reasonable time
L. S.
I love it, good value food and drinks. Always very busy.
J. F.
Good food and drink. Brought my service dog with men and I kept getting pulled up by every member of staff which made me a little uncomfortable.
J. H.
We always go to V-Shed when we are in Bristol. It's our tradition that we go there for a dinner on our way to the airport. Like all the Wetherspoons they have a great food and beer selection in very good price and quality. On Tuesdays it's a stake club so it's always our meal on a route to the airport. Small grill platter is a great dish for two kids to share.
P. O.
The staff never disappointed me ever going to any weatherspoons pubs. They are so nice and friendly and the app helps me to order and be served so quickly at the comfort of my seat. Don't get me wrong but the service is so much faster using the app than going to the bar, queuing or not. I ordered a pint of tuborg and small fish and chips. It is super fast service and perfectly fresh prepared hot meal. Yummy!
M.
Like a typical wetherspoons pub.. staff seemed friendly enough. Good priced drinks with a large selection.
Plenty of tables in a very large pub.
Carpets needs a clean due to sticking to them. Large menu again at not bad prices.
Probably will be very busy on a Friday/Saturday evening.
T. B.
Typical spoons indoors. The location by the river is nice though if you can get a seat outside.
Y. R.
3 floors, great wetherspoon with good music. Food and drinks are good and cheap. It's a great place to hang out.
Doesn't serve pizza. All the food is fine, the brownie with ice cream is really good.
T. W.
Stopped here for breakfast. The food was good and tasty and the staff were polite and helpful. The furniture is in dire need of updating though with the settees stained and grim. Also sticky carpets which isn't the best.
G. S.
Good breakfast in here, hot plates kept food warm, food more enjoyable that way.
B. D.
Good staff, good opening hours, nice food and good prices. Really nice waterside location with outside seating. Update - remains reasonably priced, staff continue to be friendly. Good venue. Update: remains reasonably priced with a good selection of product. Staff always seem nice. I'm sure that Tim doesn't pay them enough but really impressed by the service delivered by these young people. Update: just an observation but sometimes service a bit 'unfocussed' on the customer. Update: continues in the same vein. Food always decent, prices cheap
A. W.
Steady spoons, cheap beers and good choice of beverages but quite a few meals not available.
R. M.
A big pub by the harbour, with good food at a good price, and you can even have breakfast with a pint after 9am lol. I visit this place about once a month; every time the service quick and friendly, with a changing menu of high quality great value tasty choices:)
O. V.
A nice place for cheap drinks, good chips and onion rings, and friendly staff. Shame about some of the other customers who have no spacial awareness and were almost asked to leave by security.
A. K.
Excellent location and decent prices... Interiors are something that can be worked upon and spruced up....
C. W.
One of the best Spoons in the city . Always a great night at V shed, even security is always friendly (as long as you're not too drunk) cheers !
s. c.
Typical busy Spoons on a Saturday evening.
Got served quickly and of course good prices
B. K.
Nice spoons decent food and pints of beer for £1.69 so all good
B. R.
Very nice pub.food was good. Service was excellent.
R. S.
Lovely meal with family and friends very pleasant staff
M. C.
Excellent pint good food prices really reasonable veiw outside second to none for your break
T. D.
It's typical wetherspoons, good food and drinks, excellent service, good location
P. M.
Went there for breakfast, before Panto at Hippodrome, nicely cooked, not greasy excellent .
There was 8 of us,but one didn't get her breakfast with rest of us,thats why only 4 stars.
Love their hot chocolate,delicious.
R. S.
It's a lively small pub to go with friends. A bit crowded but thats what we go for.
G. S.
Great, lovely and clean. Toilets clean and smelling good.
K. e.
Good night out , staff very helpful and courtesy, great atmosphere
H. A.
Party of 6, orders for 3 arrived, had to chase last two orders, which were just sitting on side. Also had to chase cutlery, when received food going cold. Rather disappointed as previous visits were excellent.
J. H.
Good location and view
Just had drinks and they were spot on
J. M.
For service, the quality of the pint and food at the price it's a five. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the Nandos style Piri-Piri Chicken and their Ultimate Burgers are tasty and filling... as this is a Wetherspoons, the toilets are up two flights of stairs so make sure you bring your mountaineering gear if you need the loo 😅
C. B.
Ground floor was very sticky. Food was lukewarm. Nice view.
M. W.
Not the best wetherspoon in bristol.
Good location. Food,- just ok
D. G.
Very friendly and nice atmosphere there food was great great customer service
S. K. F.
Nice enough. The downstairs could use a little more lighting but that's probably another person's cosy
A. W.
Good food/drink combinations at reasonable prices.
M. B.
Great location, great prices and the wife loved the pitchers of woo woo,
Well done guys 🍻
L. H.
Nice little hideaway tucked away in the village. Good selection of drinks. Nice place to grab a few pre dinner drinks.
S. C.
Good position on waterfront staff friendly..some supply problems with drinks food ok no mango chutney with curry 😔
Y. P.
Friendly staff and a well kept pint
s. c.
Cheap night out with the girls ,food was served quickly and arrived hot . Cocktail jugs are a rip off .only 1 double measure of alcohol .
A. A.
Great ambience and wide variety of drinks...
S. M.
Well priced drinks. Handy for ss Great Britin & museums
P. L.
Big pub with lots going on. In a great location and serving a good selection of drinks. Food was good at a reasonable price
P. B.
Its OK. Its a city centre spoons, so you get about what you'd expect from such a place. very busy. Beer very cheap.
M. P.
Good food cheap prices... what's not to love
0.
Very nice food but long wait
S. B.
It is what it is. We'll located for Bristol nightlife and plenty of other choices nearby
D. E.
Best wether-spoons in the world! Cheap drinks on the night time, played loud music and the breakfast was good the cash too.
S. T.
It's exactly what to expect from a late night Wetherspoon's. The bar is covered in liquid and the floor is sticky. But on the plus side they do some nice bottled lagers. £3 entry fee a bit cheeky though! Also at 1:30 the DJ announced closing time in half an hour but when I went to the bar at 1:45 I was told they'd already closed. 4 stars because even though it's pretty grim, it is what you expect it to be, and because of the closing time issue.
A. B.
Music was decent bar and dance floor pub/club vibes
B. F.
Top deck is a long way to go to shake hands with the Bishop.
D. P.
Good food good drink good service good company
L. S.
Classic Spoons except it has a nice outdoor area with a view of the canal
J. J.
When tables are out on the 'dance floor' makes it a bit difficult to get through them in a wheelchair.
M. N.
The waiter Christian was very friendly and helpful. When asked a question… he answered. Thank you Christian for service. You absolute legend!
B. H.
A typical Spoons. Decided to have a meal of ham, egg & chips. Plus points, it arrived quickly and hot. The only negative was the eggs. Both were hard having probably been cooked and left under a heat lamp, or over cooked.
R. A.
Its not a proper restaurant so its not to bad. The area, the view...
S. B.
Had a few pints but messed sisters gin &tonic up supposed to be double couldn't test gin
M. B.
4 of us called in here around 6pm on Friday. Pub was very busy as expected. Looking for a table and found lots were very tatty and wobbly, eventually found one that was ok. Went on the app to order, all steaks and mixed grills were sold out, (poor stock management at the start of a busy summer weekend). Disapointed not to be able to order what we all really wanted.
We ordered alternative choices , drinks arrive fairly quickly followed 10 minutes later by the food whick was hot and all tasted ok. Staff were very good, seating and tables need replacing.
J. B.
First time we have been here and as its a weatherspoons you know what to expect
Time your visit because it can be really busy
We had a meal which was actually very good and plenty on the plate
Staff were friendly i suppose the only criticism would be they need to clear the tables up more often instead of leaving them with plates and glasses left on them
O. C.
More of a club like theme than a nice city pub ... Lovely setting by the water ... Beer ok ... Not my cup of ale ...
G. H.
It's a 'spoons, so you can't really go wrong. Large pub, with plenty of tables, so you shouldn't have a problem finding one. Pleasant staff, again as is usual with Wetherspoon pubs. Can get a bit rowdy with student types, who can be rather tedious, but the venue big enough to it not be an issue, and of course ordering from your phone the best thing of all, and why a Wetherspoon pub is always my pub of choice!
L. F.
A standard priced Wetherspoon over 3 floors
with an nice view of the docks
D. F.
Great value for money and a great setting with a fantastic view over looking the harbour
A. E.
Adequate and clean food good ok place
M. D.
It is what it is. Don't expect the Ritz.
Drinks are cheap and the food is ok enough.
R. P.
Great food and drink at excellent prices but the security with the silly sunglasses and the pony tail is addicted to hand sanitizer. We were here for just over an hour and he must of applied it at least 10 times at least he's covid safe I suppose. Surprised he's got any fingers left tho the amount he's rubbing his hands together.
A. L.
Great place to go hangout with friends on a Saturday night, the ticket to get in us £3,music is good, drinks are reasonably priced. We had a good night.
S. B.
So glad to be able to go out again. This was our first for over a year and we wern't disappointed. Delicious tapas style dishes with bags of flavour and interest. I would love to visit again when fully open!
A.
Busy city pub, but the Ale's i had were in good condition and quality.
H. H.
Very good food, specifically the BBQ chicken panini. Great customer service. Nice place to spend some time with friends.
S. D.
The employees were really sweet however the app doesn't work with tables not turning up on the app so will need to order at the bar
S. H.
It was ok but sticky floor, and got two of our meals wrong...OK so there were new staff but even so...
D. J.
Really nice food and excellent service
J. A.
You know what you are getting when you visit a weatberpoons.....reasonably priced drinks, typical pub food, sticky foods and a 1/2 mile walk through a maze of corridors to find the toilets (a sort of crystal maze type challenge where picking the wrong door could lead you into the ladies, the kitchen or the managers office!!!)
D. W.
Great bar good prices friendly atmosphere
M. B.
Food was great and a nice place to relax.
M. C.
It's wetherspoons what do you expect nice trek to the toilet
c. B.
Very good place to meet up with friends& have fun
E.
Your standard Spoons! Cheap but decent bar & food, a little rough around the edges, clientele varies wildly. This one is right on the harbour though, which is nice.
D. W.
Visit with wife and 2 teenage sons for breakfast. In good location and looks cool. It was very quiet at 9am. I wanted porridge and toast, but they had run out of porridge, which seemed a bit odd when it was relatively early and quiet. Poor planning? Toast was fine, 2 slices in a portion, but for me the single packet of butter per slice and only 1 jar of marmalade was too stingy and left the toast too dry. I probably could have requested more but didn't have time to pfaff around with that, and don't think you should have to ask. Wife had mushroom Benedict, which was excellent. One son had bacon sandwich and was not offered any sauces with that, so found it a little dry. Would go again, but think they could easily do better.
R. H.
Good food and fast service. Using the app we received just as good service as going to the bar.
The mixed grill was consistent and well cooked. The chips dry and baked potato soft and fluffy white. Having the surf and turf option was lovely adding 8 or so scampi to the mix.
The drinks inclusion was another saving with a wide array of choices.
The staff where lovely and on hand throughout, inquiring if all was well at each course.
All in all I can recommend this place for all to enjoy.
L. J.
Great weatherspoons. Security there but maybe a bit too much. They thought I was drunk after 1 drink I had with a meal.
T. H.
Very good time. A big bouncer man was very humble and gave us a great indoor table. He was unlike any other bouncer, he wore his heart on his sleeve, theres no other like him. My man was as bright as the night sky and helped us out of the cold like no other.
M. P.
Quick service, nice food, great drink selection and offers.
D.
Just a wonderful place, service, food, surroundings all just right, why can't all hospitality places learn from this.
C. C.
cheap good night out, friendly staff and bouncers. can get a nice cheap meal in the day too. recommend the 3 items for 10 pound deal. feeds two people easy and not bad quality food.
D.
It's okay here, nice views if you can get a table by the windows. Very busy at weekends but food gets out quickly.
S. B.
Nice place but service not that good. Ran out of cups etc . I assume they had been very busy earlier in the day or the do not have enough staff like a lot of places.
T. M.
Interior probably not the nicest and it's quite dark inside. It's usually difficult to get a table but I was pleasently surprised at the combination of value for money and quality. Can't knock the prices and food was very tasty. Some room for improvement in cleanliness but what do you expect from a 'spoons. Service waa good too.
H. T.
Decent food and OK for a quick drink but if you're looking for a quiet meal by the docks, don't go when the bar is full or it gets noisy. Aside from that, the food is standard weatherspoons level, comes out quickly and is nice. The atmosphere is a bit weird but sitting outside is great
n. k.
Great place could do with abit of renovations 😬
S. A.
Often lots of room as spread out over three floors. Can get noisy later in the evening, especially on the ground floor. Decent service but they often don't have lots of the drinks on the menu on the top floor bar so would advise ordering from the app if sitting on the top floor!
C. C. C.
Good place for groups, later in the night it gets louder due to having a DJ in house from approx 9pm till late.
Located on the dockside it has great views and has outside seating although limited. Great to watch people pass by and has a designated smokers area.
The bar has a wide range of drinks available and at a reasonable price to. They also serve food which is good.
Nice place to meet up and have a few drinks and food if you want.
The restrooms are located on the top floor, however there is a restroom on the ground floor for any one that has any disabilities.
Also located on the top floor is another bar which is handy if the ground floor bar is getting busy.🍻👍🙂
S. M.
V-Shed is a typical Wetherspoons IE. Interesting building/location, cheap booze and reasonably priced food.
V-Shed is situated by the water just off the City Center; they have a, small, smoking area in the covered seating area overlooking the. Harbour.
Bristol center is very popular with students at weekends. V-Shed is surrounded by alternative options - a little further, on the other side of center is another 'spoons' called the Commercial Rooms; worthy of a visit. Si
s. H.
We visited on a weekend so it was very busy, the manager and security guards were managing the queue and doing track and trace. The manager was very friendly and got us a table in no time being a group of 2. The food and drinks were served very quickly for how packed it was. They managed covid-19 security very well, i very much liked that there were hand sanitiser stations on every stair case of each floor!
v. a.
Food top class... drink the nominal price... Don't forget to dance to the tunes as the sun goes down
J. L.
Cheap food and drink but really busy on a weekend. You also have to take pop luck on the food and finding a seat as well.
P. S.
Great bar, had a great time
s. g.
Nice and clean, pleasant staff, good choice of beers and lager nice gin palace upstairs, right by the river good food
S. P.
Quick service for ok food. Quite busy so we just ate our food and left soon after.
M. F.
Good beer decent food
j. d.
Nice place, affordable prices. Great location and view.
R. G.
Good view of the boats
B. C.
Typical spoons. Foods decent and drinks are quick. One of the nicest views from the upstairs level ive ever seen from spoons.
C. M.
Dirty sticky floor and very little veggie choice. I was told that what I wanted from the menu was no longer available. I wanted a Latte but was told the machine was broken. I don't think we will be going back
M. H.
It's a spoons - but a nice one! I met some very, very lovely and welcoming people a couple of nights in a row here whilst staying in the area.
C. L.
I can't fault them. During this exceptionally difficult time they're trying their hardest to make sure all of their customers stay safe while still having the best time possible.
I've just come from there after having a few drinks and the staff were amazing to me and my friends.
A. T.
Absolutely spot on, from being welcomed at the door on our first visit and shown to our table as the place was heaving.
We used it as our local while we were on holiday in the area, every time the staff were different, but very professional.
M. A.
Staff are attentive and friendly.
The middle floor was quite noisy on the night we went so we moved to the top floor.
Food quality was amazing on both the dinner and the breakfast we had there.
The window seats offer a good view of the boat dock too, ideal for the people watchers amongst us.
Would happily use again should I return to Bristol.
k. c.
Lovely view and quality beer but hygiene levels are low with tables often not cleaned between customers.
J. S.
Regular wetherspoons but in a nice location by the Avon
Z. B.
Absolutely banging in there. 👌
Cheap drinks & great tunes in the evening. 🕺
A. M.
Harbour side pub on three levels, good for watching the boats go past
K. M.
beautifull view while drinkin and eating delicious food, music, atmosphere, nice people. Amazing 😍
S.
This seems to be the place most people start a night out, decent priced drinks with a good atmosphere!
I actually preferred coming here a long time ago but in the morning during my break in college to have a full english breakfast which used to be amazing from here! Haven't been in a while so i cant speak for how it is now, but I'd say it's still worth a try!
B. H.
Great service and food but loos leave a lot to be desired.
A. G.
Like the prices & the view. The staff are good but it is an average bar.
S. T.
Kids wanted a drink.. then the loo which is on the top floor!!! Why???
R. “.
It's a wetherspoons so cheap beer and food. Can't complain as it was served quickly to my table via the app.
K. W. D.
Lunch was great here today. Very efficient and friendly service from the staff. My steak was perfectly cooked, well presented and tasted lovely.
R. k.
Had cod & chips tasted better than some fish & chip shops.
P. D.
Entertaining and good value Wetherspoons venue. Open till early hours, with DJ music and a dance floor. Can get chaotic and don't expect to get your table cleaned after 9pm! Good value, cheap night club venue. Average Wetherspoons type pub during the day. On the docks, definitely cheapest place for eats & drinks.
J. B.
Great food at a reasonable price
M. L.
Good place for a few drinks.
m. e.
Conveniently located and reasonsably priced food and drinks
t. H.
The staff were all lovely but the security not so much.security said they'd already given us a "warning" despite not having spoken to us all night then got kicked out for talking to somebody on a different table while sat at ours
G. W.
Very typical weatherspoons. You get what you pay for.
B. J.
It's a Witherspoon and probably one of the better ones
A. W.
at busy times during a Friday or Saturday night it becomes like a 'chill club.' plenty of seating and tables to sit and chat but also a dancefloor. perfect place to go if you dont wanna go fully out or for drinks before heading to one of the many nearby clubs. still has aspects of a typical spoons, and could benefit from a fan or two, but overall decent.
k. a.
conor <3 the best xx
G. A.
Poor standards: I normally rate Wetherspoon pubs highly, as they do a great job of price and quality and appealing to all (a VERY difficult job). But on a visit here today (at noon) I have to say that the tables were dirty, so were the toilets, and I had to send my wife's wine back as the glass it was served in was filthy. Some real attention to detail needed here. This is a busy site, and needs to be managed better.
S. M.
As with all Wetherspoons pubs I liked this one. there is loads of seating over 3 levels. it's in a very nice location overlooking the docks. The food we ordered on the Wetherspoons app was delivered to the table reasonably quick and the burgers were gorgeous. The place was absolutely packed at around 6pm and had to wait until someone left their table to get one but that's through no fault of the pub - just so many people. My only criticism would be only having 2 staff on the top bar with so many people to serve and that being on a saturday aswell. Other than that, good food and drink at an excellent price - Thankyou
H. S.
V shed is a Wether spoons pub so the quality is fairly predictable. The drinks are very standard for the most part, but at a good price with a relatively large selection. They offer a wide variety of cocktail pitchers which are very nice and cheap for the amount you get. The food on offer isn't anything special, it's nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. The prices are good however, nothing is too expensive for what it is worth. The bottom floor has a dance floor, but im not sure how often it is used and as there were many tables and chairs set up on it. The next floor up seams to be just general seating for meals, and the top floor is another bar, which seemed to be the busiest part of the pub. Fairly standard place, cheap food and drinks but nothing special.
J. L.
Good service . Cheap affordable beers
K. A.
Food was great after we managed to find something they actually had Cocktails a bit week but nice place
I. H.
We went out last night and had a bit too much to drink, but we were really well looked after by the staff! They were so friendly which was just what we needed after a not so fortunate night out. Thank you staff of v shed! Appreciate your kindness :)
D. K.
Busy Saturday night. Usual weatherspoons
S. G.
fairly standard spoons. well managed during covid. would appreciate the track and trace being online but not the end of the world. Could maybe do with some better lighting during the day. Pre covid v shed was always a good, cheap place for pre drinks!
A. S.
Lovely place set over three floors, food and drink is very nice and affordable prices, great location over looking Bristol water front very friendly staff.
L. F.
Very good lots of staff so hardly any wait
A. C.
Value for money meals, only thing stoping me giving it a 5 star rating was the cutlery, the knives were blunt.
D. L.
Good location. Exactly what you'd expect from a wetherspoons to be honest, not much to add! I ordered a Thatchers Haze but was served a Thatchers Gold... Might have been my accent! No problems overall so it's a nice place to stop by for a quick drink.
M.
Great service and excellent value.
V. J.
Absolutely gorgeous place all man band were incredible
C.
Food was fine but strangely there was a massive queue of blokes with a cold trying to use toilet cubicles on Friday night. Must be something going round.
S. N.
Harbour side with good views of people having their food stolen by the seagulls (beware al fresco diners) and the harbour ferries. Staff seem to stay for a while - always good and are happy and helpful. Toilets are a bit of a hike upstairs, but this place is meant for youngsters.
A. D.
Love this place. So affordable, there are three floors and the atmosphere is lovely. It's never too busy and the staff are nice too! You can get a window seat and watch the boats in the canal, and it's right next to the cinema and the aquarium!
A. C.
Nice location. Nice food
T. H.
Nice staff friendly and helpful and ham egg chips and mayonnaise and salad and ice cream and water and soap and drink hot chocolate and chocolate cake and sausage and crisps and lasagna
J. W.
Good food, canny pint, good value for money, great place to chill and people watch. Friendly staff and fantastic location.
A. T.
Lovely area of Bristol. Plenty of tables however they don't get cleaned often with many tables having stacks of pots on. Disabled toilet by the dance floor also smells pretty bad.
Had an American style breakfast which was delicious. Can't beat a spoons brekkie though!!
K. S.
Typical spoons, good prices for decent food. Not always the best but good for cheap quick food. Also, the coffees are now unlimited refills, winner! Can't say much about it as a night club.
B. T.
Great location, odd layout but food and drink was well priced and was good.
Considering how busy it's been on our visits there we've never waited too long for anything.
Well worth a visit.
C. K.
What I look for at any Public House is A) Well poured, beautifully presented and wonderfully flavoursome metric pints or lager or ale, and B) As the cure for any hangover should be; wholesome, hearty and rustic food delivered full of flavour and warmth. The former I must say was executed fabulously, I stuck to Stella Artois for the evening, although I try to stay away from stereotypes, the prestige white vest and silver chain did come out to play later on that evening, worrying a certain percentage of my living quarters. However, the pints were crisp, well poured, and exquisite. Moving on to B, the scran. Wow, just wow, bringing the four star review up to a five is something only a well seasoned and beautiful chicken tikka masala can do, and it did just that. I’ve dined in the heart of Sri Lanka, tasting the most authentic and beautiful curry’s the world has to offer. Yet nothing, nothing to compared to the creaminess, the authenticity of that rustic chicken tikka with pilau rice. Would recommend to friends and family, a wonderful evening which made the world feel normal for a few hours, in this undoubtedly unusual times. Thank you.
A. D.
The dance floor concept is stupid on weekends. Ruins the pre drinking, like I'm really not ready to club yet and then suddenly where my god damn table is silly flashing lights and music start. One of the nicer spoons though, alongside commercial rooms.
J. B.
Five stars just for the blond girl at the bar who gave me a pitcher of Woo Woo instead of just a glass - I'd had the worst day, massive headache and just wanted a drink. A big drink. It's like she read my mind!
Would knock off a star for the noisy group next to our table but wonderful staff kept making sure they were quiet.
G. A.
Very good prices, good music and nice atmosphere!
Overall a good night out with very little money spent!
J. M.
Good old spoons. Cheap and has decent music in the evenings. We had food and that was nice.
Went in a large group and they easily catered for all of us and all the orders were quick and correct.
P. C.
Great service and food service was very quick. clean tables and plenty of staff to serve you and look after you
L. L.
Cheap food cheap drinks free WiFi they let me chill there for ages after I had eaten rinsing the WiFi splayed out across chair looking like a napping homeless man. Staff were sound as a pound when I was being an annoying customer about the refillable coffee. Saw an old man almost die of heart attack In a dance off with a 18 year old girl, would recommend
D. C.
Great food great price great location
C. S.
These places are never clean, sticky tables
R. W.
Not bad for a filling lunch that is not too expensive, but it isn't the most tasty food. The staff are helpful, however, and upstairs seating has a decent view of the harbour. The deals are quite good mid-week as well, with a small extra cost to include a drink with most of the mains.
N. E.
Not the best Spoons I've been to. Everything just seemed a bit grubby and the loos were awful. Obviously a result of customers having too much to drink.
S. P.
Not a bad pub. Nice river vista. Pleasant and not to loud.
W. D.
Large spoons by the harbour side. 3 floors with a bar on the top and bottom floor. Everything else is pretty standard
D. D.
Lovely location on the harbour side and if you can get to sit outside it's lovely. However it gets very busy especially on a nice weekend afternoon, the interior is a bit tired and the food can be a bit hit or miss. The staff are friendly but sometimes a bit of a wait to be served, with the upstairs bar not stocking a full compliment of drinks that's available in the downstairs bar.
s.
Service was good and as per usual with witherspoons there's a good selection at a great price.
m. e.
A Wetherspoons pub on three levels with a bar on the ground and third floor. A very popular place to visit so can be difficult to find a table. A bit sticky on the floor and the tables during our visit. The food was ok, not bad value for money. The children found something they liked too.
K. L.
Its a great place on Bristol Docks overlooking the moored-up boats. Modern inside and lovely ale to drink
A. B.
Drinks are quite cheap. Bouncer was ok till our first round of drinks finished. Then they refused service to the whole group. And none of us was drunk yet. We all work in the industry and simply took the advantage of once going out for drinks. First stop was V shed but we had to move over because of service being refused. Sorry guys but this time you got it all wrong.
m. C.
Most of the staff are excellent - helpful, polite, efficient and charming. Nothing too much trouble. Rate them highly
A. M.
What's not to like? Barman knows his stuff, staff are superb, cheeseboard brilliant, choice of beers is outstanding, atmosphere second to none. Can you guys set up in Oxford please?
B. H.
As in other reviews, typical Wetherspoons, great selection of drinks, reasonable quality food and in a great location in the harbour area. Gets really busy at night but I like that kind of atmosphere. Don't dismiss it!
K. L.
Bit of a more welcoming Spoons than your average one! Cheap drinks, decent grub and city center. Does the job!
I. W. (.
If you've been to one weather spoons you've been to them all. The drinks are the same and everything's sticky but its cheap and you always get to meet interesting people here.
If im going out by the harbour for drinks then i will start my night here as you always know what your getting into.
s. M.
This bar is very nice, with A LOT of space (3 different levels with bars), good lights, and the prices are low, what is very interesting if you're a student ! I would advice to people to give it a go ! The perfect type of bar if you want to begin a night.
L. G.
I've been sick there twice peak times
N. F.
Very well run with helpful and polite service
G. A.
The place was clean and tidy staff were happy to help
J. S.
The only reason I have given 4 stars is because the ground floor toilets were out of order, meaning 2 flights of stairs to go to toilet
P. D.
Decent branch with friendly staff. Food arrived quickly that was hot and fresh.
Branch in an ideal place next to the harbour side. Known to get very busy at times as you would expect.
R. M.
The staff were friendly, but I did not get what I ordered. The salad was missing bacon and the vinaigrette - both are standard to the dish. Wetherspoons are usually good, but I found my meal a little disappointing at V-Shed.
M.
Great location, typical weathespoons cheap and cheerful.
M. C.
Great prices for food and drink
M. R.
Beautiful place and lovely food
H. H.
Standard weather spoons, bouncers are rude but not too bad
W. J.
Good location, Wetherspoons menu and drinks as normal. Good seats outside, but beware the seagulls who have an eye on your food. Toilets on the second floor so be prepared for the climb.
r. n.
I was genuinely surprised to find out this is a 'spoons. It was well run and i had a great friday night here from what i can remember.
s. r.
It was ok on Saturday afternoon but very very busy! Quite rowdy with tables being moved, large groups of people shouting and screaming with no real attempt from security to calm anyone down. Would not reccomend this one for families even though most other Wetherspoons are absolutely fine.
D. K.
Not brilliant, saturated bar and staff that weren't even looking at who was next to be fair. That aside I had to keep brushing flies aside whilst eating my steak (indoors). Good value for money though.
J. B.
Good steak at a good price. We go all the way to the top floor, to be with the quieter diners. They still serve from that bar, but without the hubbub on the ground floor.
N. S.
Nice ambiance and views .
G. V. H. S.
Great place to meet with friends have a drink or 2345 & eat.
s.
Usual spoons but very friendly staff for a change.
D. M.
The food was good and prices not to bad but could do with more staff serving at busy times. Remember the food is pub food so if you want good steaks etc then go to a steak house or proper restaurants. Otherwise a good place.
a. j.
Typical Weatherspoons fare, but in a fantastic location in the Harbour.
Friendly staff, and bustling atmosphere. The toilets bizarrely are up two flights of stairs!
C. R.
When for some cheep drinks one night but was very disappointed. The place was a mess, they where missing things off both the food and the drinks menu. The only good thing I can say is the staff where nice about it.
S. A.
Food good. Friendly staff. Sticky floor and smelt of urine. Will sit outside next time.
C. C.
Brilliant service and lovely staff top notch 👌
J. E.
As far as Wetherspoons (what is the plural of Wetherspoons?) go, this one was a'ight. The V-Shed's major upside is its size - there's three floors, each with ample seating and space. Like most Wetherspoonses, each floor had a slightly different vibe. The toilets were fairly clean, but - again as with most Spoons - the insides of the cubicles were pretty grim. Cheap drinks and cheap, fairly good pub fare. Would probably go again if I was walking nearby and wanted a cheap drink, but obviously wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
C. L.
Wetherspoons in a nice area, always has good priced drinks and you know what you're getting. Good service and friendly staff. Quite quiet when we went but it was a Tuesday!
B. S.
An excellent whetherspoons with standard, cheap prices. Can be busy sometimes as it is in a very lively area. Popular with everyone clubbing or going out in Bristol, and has a small dance floor and DJs most evenings. Three floors of tables and chairs, and two bars sometimes on a late busy evening the bouncers will charge a pound or two for entry, but I have only experienced this once.
T.
Maybe more gluten free food.Nothing wrong with jacket potatoes but would have rather the burger
M. B.
It's wetherspoons, it does what it says on the tin
a. w.
Food was a while but they were busy so hats off for being fast. Tasted good, looked good and at a bargain price. £30 for 4 people's meals and drinks.
J. G.
Went here for classic 'Spoons breakfast with the family. Ordered via the app, food was delivered quickly and staff attentive and helpful. All you can ask for in a Werherspoons!
p. r.
Lovely pub great staff
O. G.
A good 'spoons for sure.
B. T.
Brilliant pub good beers
B. D.
Good atmosphere, drinks are fairly standard price for the area. Very long wait to get served on a Friday-Saturday, but I guess that's to be expected.
A. G.
A three floor wetherspoons looking over the river. Pick a window seat in autumn around 5.30 to see a cracking sunset. Great internal architecture evoking the history of industrial Bristol. Standard cheap drinks and decent, not execptional food. Friendly staff, lively atmosphere.
J. J.
It's a Wetherspoon. If you like Wetherspoons you will like the V Shed
L.
Very crowdy, unorganized and dark. The staff was friendly and fast, the beer and food cheap, the food took only a few minutes but was therefore not very good. A good place to pop up just for a drink. Close to the harbour and city.
J. E.
So ordered 2 drinks san Miguel and strongbow dark fruits. The strongbow tasted like blackcurrent squash. When to ask to change it and because we asked for cider and black, and the charged me the difference. 4p. I know it only 4p but it is the point l, surely the hassle to go and complain warrants no extra charge.
N. B.
It's a Wetherspoons!
Want do you want me to say.
C. E.
Love it! Usual Weatherspoons quality, great range of beers at great prices. V Shed has a dance floor and 2 upper floors for groups and food. Service is good.
p. l.
Friendly place nice and clean
j. c.
Like all Spoons, this place serves very reasonably priced food and drink.
As with most Spoons, it is big with lots of background chatter. I ordered via the Weatherspoons App, it was a boiling day and the place would benefit from aircon. Harassed looking waitress was uncommunicative but it was the hottest day of the year...
V Shed is bang on the river. Watershed and other attractions nearby, just a 20 minute walk from Temple Meads.
Recconended for its location, prices and accessibility.
U. A.
Overlooking harbourside harbour esf view upstairs outside can have the meal
H. G.
As usual, it's good value but ordered a bottle of white wine which was not chilled. Given an ice bucket but it takes so long to chill wine that is warm it's not worth it.
S. F. P.
The food could be a lot better. Fed up of microwave foods being served on so-called restaurants. Claiming to serve home made or hand made good when clearly mot.
D. B.
Classic wetherspoon's pub with great views of the docks. Small but nice outdoor seating area split into smoking/non smoking. Prices are cheap as you can expect from a wetherspoons.
A. K.
Nice atmosphere, spacious layout and friendly staff. Food was good
G. B.
Great But if your a Camra member weve got to get the discount on Real ale sorted in JDs
Otherwise smashing location on the Marina
T. W.
Always pleasent experience and a great meetup/gathering place with lots to eat and lots to drink cheap. Followed by more often than not pleasant staff and a great view outside and plenty other choices for puns, restaurants and clubs all around.
E. o.
Busy and large place. However the staff is friendly. Price is certainly affordable. Quality of the food and drinks is nice as well.
K. H.
This will look familiar as it's a Lloyds #1 venue, part of the Wetherspoons chain. This means they open up part of the main bar area as a dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights,, which most in the chain do not. It's worth heading all the way upstairs to discover there's an additional bar and dining area. Best views are from the tables on the middle mezzanine level.
l.
Lovely service, Matt went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and seemed genuinely take interest in our conversation! Which was refreshing from bar staff... Double rum And coke for £3.30 bargain! Cant complain!!
M. W.
Is a 'spoons, therefore they always have at least 1 gluten free beer available. Works for me, since others in Bristol aren't as forward thinking for those of us who can't drink normal beer any more, but haven't taken to cider.
S. T.
Food was good, atmosphere was "bonkers" courtesy of the largest hen party we have seen. Don't go here for a serene saturday afternoon - it was Bristol open Doors weekend :-)
E. C.
Nice pub, good atmosphere and food. Security were really rude though, felt like they were trying to intimidate us
M. S.
Decent food, good, reasonably priced drinks and nice atmosphere. There's also plenty of space inside even if it doesn't look like it from the outside.
D. K.
Best. Spoons. Ever.
Had a great Friday night, wait for drinks was long but to be expected.
K. B.
Good vibe love Bristol docks
S. W.
Lovely views over the water. Excellent service, usual Wetherspoon s menu. A little noisy with children running up and down the stairs and several hen parties
P. S.
Great location, many choices of beers and lagers, free coffee refills, great prices
I. W.
Just had a flat pint of Bud Light which was a pitty as it was my first hard earned beer of the weekend! However, the bar staff changed it for a good pint of Coors Light without any quibbles, so happy days! They did comment however, that the Bud Light problem was an ongoing issue here so beware when ordering Bud light!
B. C.
Good sized Wetherspoons. Staff were friendly and service was good.
J. C.
Loved this place . This spoons has everything . Great outdoor seating area with lovely views and three floors of seating inside . Had a well cooked breakfast sitting out in the sunshine watching the world go by . Staff were very friendly . It gets a thumbs up from me !
S. D.
Great place to have a pint and socialise with a nice outside ares to watch the boats going up and down the river, very chilling.
M. ..
Nice and clean, understaffed so service was a little slow but clearly we're doing the best they can.
P. w.
Has to have the best witherspoons view overlooking inner harbour! Beer is nice and cheap too!! Food looks ok and it's nice inside! At last toilets that don't smell and men's even gone back too semi cubicles 8 out 10 to witherspoons would be 10 but no lift to 3rd floor!
