Absolutely beautiful place, gorgeous food and great setting. Would recommend for a cosy country pub vibe, or a romantic evening meal, it can get busy on an evening so please do phone and book a table! The friendliest staff that cater to all of your needs, and a warm feeling all round! Also I love the decor, very autumnal and cosy! Thank you all for a gorgeous meal xx

Stopped here for a cup of tea just as they opened at midday, and ended up staying for lunch... Wow! Is all we can say... Service was quick & efficient by friendly staff. I had Lasagne, my partner had Cod & Chips... Huge, perfectly presented dishes which tasted delicious! We will deffo be back!

Great friendly pub, I stayed at players Golf club for three nights and I ate here each evening. Had a great steak. All the staff were attentive and helpful, I highly recommend this for eating. There’s a good selection of ales too.

My husband and I chose this venue to hold our Silver Wedding Anniversary party in June. Sally and Gavin were fantastic hosts, they liased with us on what we wanted. They catered for 100 people, providing welcome drinks and a buffet(ensuring our requirements for vegan/vegetarian and gluten free were catered for). We had two live bands playing and hired an external PA company, they worked with both us and the company so everything was just right on the day. We held our party 2 until 11, with a disco in the evening. The venue is perfect for any occasion. Every one of our guests were smiling and had nothing but praise for the venue. I highly recommend this venue, as Sally and Gavin are warm, friendly and very welcoming hosts. We are now definitely regulars there🙂

We stayed here on bonfire night to get away from fireworks so our dog could chill out. Stayed over night in overflow car park in our motorhome. So happy we found this little gem of a pub. Booked a meal on evening for our 1st wedding anniversary and I can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed a meal so much as here. First class food , service and atmosphere. Visited for the first time this evening. It's a lovely proper, cosy pub. Next time we will pop in for some food as it kept going past us and looked fantastic! We had arranged a 40th birthday meal at a nearby pub which let us down at the last minute. The Wishing Well stepped in at very short notice and were very accommodating. We had a lovely evening, the food was very good and reasonably priced.

This is one of my regular haunts as they have a choice of three or four real ales. This visit was a little different - a Wake to say goodbye to one of my oldest and closest friends. Wonderful little gem. We just needed a break from driving, something small to eat and a beer, but we ended up staying there one night in the motorhome. Good food, good drinks, nice garden in the back and fantastic staff. We played bingo and joyned the Pub quiz. Also when we did not know that much, it was pretty much fun. We were with our little daughter, 20 month, and everybody was so friendly with her, even when she was only running around and trying to get everybody's attention. Thanks a lot for the nice evening.

We were greeted at the door, and escorted to our table. After been allowed time to remove outdoor cloths our drinks order was taken and promptly brought to the table. The first course of the meal arrived promptly and very well presented. The portions size of soup and accompanying bread was a good to large. Staff very attentive and friendly and ensured the following main courses and sweet followed at appropriate intervals. The size of all the meals are best described as large ! After the meal the staff engaged in a short conversation with all members of our group and exit greetings were exchanged. We all had a good positive & memorable experience

Good ambience about the place. We used to visit most Friday evenings with our kids, 40 odd years ago when it was the 'Codrington', the food was excellent then, and that is still the case. One small thing the apple pie pastry was a bit soggy, it needed crisping up a bit, but on the whole, we had an excellent meal.

Found this lovely pub on Park4Night I am walking the Cotswold Way National Trail and this was a Mike from the Trail . Very convenient. The staff were very friendly and the beer was amazing. The place is easy to find, a large pub on the side of the road with a good car park. We had a lovely meal last night and the menu was a lot better than last time with plenty of choice and flexibility. Staff were excellent - friendly and personable. Food delivery wasn't quick but we weren't in a rush and portion sizes were good. A notch above normal pub grub and a notch below gastropub prices.

I pop in semi-regularly for a bite to eat on the way home. Food is fairly average, typical chain pub fare. The special offers make it excellent value for money though, it’s hard to beat a burger and chips for six quid on a Monday. Couple of decent real ales available which are always served in good condition. Favourite thing about the place is the long-standing bar maid who is very friendly and makes locals and newcomers alike feel welcome

We arrived late for lunch but nevertheless were made welcome. The service was very good which was not surprising because they were no one else there at 2.0 pm. However two well cooked and presented meals for £10 plus a dessert from the main menu for an extra £2 can't be bad. We will definitely make a return visit as there are many dishes on the menu that look interesting.

A small group of us went to The Wishing Well after our daughter got married. Sally and Gavin couldn't have done more for us. We had a covered area and use of their beautiful garden. We paid a visit to the Wishing Well on Sunday and because we haven't been there in a long time, we noticed that it's been extended at the back, where there were plenty of tables to choose from. What impressed me the most, was how squeaky clean the room was and also the cutlery. We opted for the roast, which was very nice. Good to see a wide range of vegetarian options as well, rather than the token one or two. Good service. Food mediocre. Lamb was ok. Veg served as a 'melange " of obviously frozen broccoli, carrots and cabbage. Two spindly parsnips and a few peas. Cauliflower cheese was overcooked and more like soup. Sweet however was splendid (Chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding) but unfortunately not included in meal deal.

haven't been in this pub for about 16 years, often drive passed so thought i would revisit not that i have had a bad experience before, quiet pub on arrival greeted by the barman, just over £5 for a bitter shandy and a diet coke which is about right, found a table in the large beer garden at the back of the pub which is manly made of wooden pick nick bench type seats good value food menu with further discounts on various evening, tonight was 2 grill dishes for £14 so ordered 2x 10oz rump steaks 1 well done and one medium both arrived within 25 minutes and were fine although well done was very well done and medium was medium/well but i would rather have it that way then under! deserts were good both the chocolate sundae and apple pie were nice! bar staff seemed friendly, overall the experience was good and the pub was getting busier buy the time we were done! some dishes are excluded from the deal nights, tonight although is was 2 grill dishes for £14 it excluded the mix grill due to cost, but i think a surplus of £4-5 would be a better and may be more profitable?

Unfortunately inconsistent. Went there for 2 nights in a row with family of 4 and dog including vegetarians, vegans and meet eaters. Some of the best steak I have had in a long long time. High quality meat that is cooked exactly how you ask it to be. Rare is rare, medium is medium and well done is well done. 2 for 1 on grills Tuesday. I have paid £25+ for similar steak in the past and the wishing well is a quarter that price and the quality is as good if not better.

The Wishing Well hosted a suprise 50th birthday party for my fiancee last night (26 feb 2020) . It was a sit down meal followed by entertainment that they kindly let me organise. The food was outstanding and came smootely considering some tables had 3 courses. Ithe entertainment was local artist Teresa Alexdra and the legend this is Robert " Elvis " Wilkinson all the way from St Ives. Two fabulas singers. Belinda ( my fiancee ) was shell shocked to say the least. The service was amazing and all the staff ciuldnt do enough to ensure we all had a good time. Thank you Sally , Gavin , Aaron , Matt , Shannon, Joe and Zack for all your hard work.

Have been visiting this pub for over a year and was interested to see they were under new management. The pub is in a transition period as the menu is to change on 17th May and they have taken on someone else's mess. We ordered our usual food which unfortunately was not of its usual standard. HOWEVER...I have to say that the manager could not have been more helpful and came to our table to apologise and offered us a full refund a free desset and drinks. We shall definately be returning once the new staff have settled in if only for the great customer service. We wish them the best of luck.

Lovely pub. Sadly we visited for a wake. Friendly staff. The food they pit on was nice and there was plenty of it. Plenty of space inside and large gardens to the rear. Plenty of off street parking is also available.

Booked meals for four Saturday 23rd November, disappointing, 2 of party had pie, Mash dried up, 1 had fish very small Porton, one had Gammon, chips vey soggy and food cold, very poor in enjoyable, and to end evening Gents toilet door very dangerous spring back and caused deep cut to one of our make party's arm, we did not make a fuss, but really needs looking at!! Hence we will not be back!!
