A. M.Reviews are important. I chose the Black Lion on other’s feedback and I’m very pleased we went there today. The roast dinner was lovely and fresh, the 2 course lunch price was a welcoming £10 and I will certainly be taking the family there again! Should also mention that the place was clean as you’d expect and the staff were friendly too! Thank you for a lovely Sunday roast!
Trust me, not all pubs in a chain meet the chain’s standards. Manager clearly runs a tight ship here in The Black Lion. Well done!

B. R.A great place for a drink with really nice food options too. Prices are very reasonable, but with a slightly limited range of beers. That said, they have my favourite ale, the Rev James here, so the limited range is never a problem. There is generally a good crowd here, and the staff are friendly too. The décor is nice, giving the atmosphere a very pleasant warmth. Would strongly recommend going here.

A. Q.No faults with this nice quiet pub at all. Beer selection is solid, food is inexpensive and good quality. Perfect for small groups and for sporting events, especially the rugby. Its dog friendly too which is nice but the dining section is dog-free for those worried!

T. T. D.Went to the Black Lion for the first time last night to meet some friends. Internally it's bigger than it looks from outside and is what I'd describe as a proper pub!
Lovely atmosphere, good choice of beers, wines and spirits.
Had a good chat with the landlord at the end of the night, very friendly bloke and very welcoming.
Will go there again!
S. N.The Black Lion is a nice pub in terms of decor. Being a Brains pub the beer selection is decent if not great and really could do with a wider range of guest ales. The food I've had there has been good and on a Sunday the leftover Yorkshires and roast potatoes are a welcome freebie at times. Tends to be more a rugby pub but does show the football and there are a good number of screens and seating areas.
Overall it's a lovely looking and friendly pub.
I. B.Pricing well below the high-quality food we enjoyed, and staff who go above and beyond expectations. *Very* dog friendly. The cooks and other personnel even held a significant think-tank to create a vegan, gluten-free Sunday roast analogue for one of our group. Just a lovely experience overall - looking forward to eating there again next time we visit Llandaff!
M. W.Called in for lunch. Two meals for £10 you can't go wrong. My wife had the vegetarian chilli and I had the bean burger. Meals were filling and we're served up in about ten minutes. Staff were also very friendly. Will definitely revisit next time we are in the area

S. E.A tidy local. Drinks are a reasonable price, while the Sunday lunch is good value at 2 courses for £8. Seems like a rugby pub however they have Sky and show the football too. Usually 4 cask ales on, mostly Brains with the odd guest that is a rarely a curveball (Hobgoblin etc.). Dog-friendly.

R.Got sunday roasts here. It was £7.50 for a roast and a desert, great value! There was loads of meat on the meal and it was delicious! Would recommend

M.Saw sign saying best Sunday roast in Llandaff and sure was nice and warming for a windy, wet summers day. £9.04 including a pit, £5.95 for a Sunday roast with new pototoes, roast spuds, broccoli, peas, carrots and sweed and all came within 5mins of ordering. Nice friendly staff, great meal after a Sunday eurcharist!
