L. W.A gem of a pub just a short walk out of the city centre. Ideal for a stop off if your keen on walking and cycling as it is right on the taff trail. We turned up as a party of 8, and were served quickly, had a great steak meal with a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back
C. P.A pub is just a shell, but it is the quality of its food and generosity of the staff that make the Blackweir a great pub! The location makes it appealing being close to the city centre. M. S.I gather it can be a bit rough at times but very friendly staff, nice-looking interior (though we obviously had to sit outside) and very close (200metres) from the uni student accommodation on North Road!

A.Lovely food with short waiting times. Even on a match day it wasn't too busy or loud. Everything was well priced and the staff we're lovely and friendly. Really would recommend this for family meals etc. Also has a great sized garden area and parking

S. T.The place is alright. Last time I went, the table was a bit sticky and when I asked for some wipes or cleaner, I was just handed a blueroll which didn't help but anyway. The prices on the food are cheap and there are offers everyday which is great. There's also a pool table, games and some music to keep you entertained.
E. J.I have to start with the food, which was very nice and reasonably priced pub food. If I was marking just the food it would be a 4.
On our visit the service was questionable, firstly we were asked if we wanted cutlery, i wasn't expecting to eat with out fingers. We had to ask for steak knives. We also ordered one meal without peas, they all came with peas? The menu description said including grilled tomatoes, we had to ask for these as they were missing.
A great pitty, as I said food was nice.
My test is always, will I visit again, yes more than likely as most of my issues could be fixed. Sorry I couldn't give more?
L. P.We popped in this evening (9/12/19) and were warmly greeted by Liam on arrival. We found a quiet table near the back of the tavern and selected or meals. 1st thing worth noting is that Mondays before 5pm it's 50% off so our meals and 2 pints of Coke zero came to only £13.40 (this included a £2 charge to go large on the scampi)
Those that follow my reviews will note I do like scampi, just browse my reviews... I must say that this is the second best scampi I've ever had (King Arthur's Inn Tintagel, hold the crown). My thanks go to Amy who was our cook tonight, who did a fantastic job, the scampi had just the right amount of crunch and the chips were light and fluffy. I would recommend going large on the scampi for the extra £2 to take you scampi from 9 pieces to 20 is that good (wholetail not formed). When next in Cardiff we shall certainly return.
The restaurant was nice and clean, disabled toilet facilities were excellent (Radar key required)

H.One of the best pubs I've personally ever been to, friendly atmosphere, FREE POOL AND PING PONG, and cheap drink deals, not seen anyone be overly drunk yet and i like to think I'm becoming a regular :)
