Update.(May 2021).First visit to any pub since the madness of the last year..booked a table on line, which was easy to do. Hand sanitizer on way in and greeted by a friendly member of staff who explained the one way system, how to order using the app(which I had to download) and showed us to our table.
App easy to use, we ordered food and drinks, which were all delivered promptly. I did see one or two people go to the bar and return with drinks so that must still be an option. Toilets have a dial on the outermost door which you turn to engaged as you enter and vacant when you leave so only one person at a time. Food was hot and tasty.

s. M.Massive garden, good pint in a nice clean glass, sounds simple but many fail. Didnt eat but the prices looked reasonable, with deals on 2 meals for a tenner. My glass looked a bit tatty but I dont worry about that if its clean and my pint stays lively. Which mine did!! Maybe you can nag the brewery for some more😉

The staff are incredibly friendly and make a point of good service and recognizing regulars. The atmosphere is great and the food was stunning (the big brains burger was gorgeous). Special shout out to Dan Luke Evie and Chelsea, who have made sure me and my guests were well looked after and left with a smile and eager to return. Thanks guys!

A regular choice for myself and friends & it never disappoints!

W.Had a meal on Saturday, due to covid restrictions we had to sit outside and the weather was bad unfortunately. the day before they had handed out umbrellas but people had taken them when they left. The staff can't be responsible for the weather and although we got a bit wet we enjoyed the food.
The staff were great and worked hard in adifficult situation .

R. C.The place seems to now be owned by Marston but uses the Brains ordering website. If this proves to be a problem, you can still order verbally from the table. There are a number of keg and mixed-gas "smooth" beers but fortunately they still serve traditional SA and SA Gold, even though not up to the standard of the original St. Mary St. brew.

T.The patio area is really nice and the blonde lady staff was really accommodating. I'm not to keen on the Brains Pub menu though, I feel it's a bit limited. They are usually booked up inside if you haven't booked in advance but there's always tables outside free.

M. P.35 years ago, this was our local. It is undergoing upgrades at the moment. Since we were here, it has been extended into next door and opened up. There is also a large beer garden at the rear. Eddie,the batman in our day's, is long gone, the current barman was very friendly and the Brains SA very smooth. The more improved pub is refreshing and a good step forward as to what was there in the early eighties.

S. H.I've been to the Crwys quite a bit over the last couple of years and the staff are absolutely lovely!
CU students love this place, and you can see why! There's a good range drinks that are all reasonably priced too. The food can be a bit hit-and-miss sometimes but then again they describe it as a "no-frills" pub, so don't expect Michelin Star quality.
A good night out with a nice beer garden to boot.

And the fish&chips with the scampi upgrade was delicious. Arrived piping hot in 21 mins. Worth every penny. M.Really bad selection of beer. If they had items like punk/goose or krounenbourg would be much better. However as far as bars and beer gardens go the facilities are great. Only problem is the alcohol selection is poor!

This is definately one of the better places I have visited in Cardiff, the food is excellent pub food, the decor is clean and nice and the service is good.
On a weekend evening-night it is quite crowded and lots of students go here so if your looking for a quiet pub experience come in the weekday or midday weekend.
It is a good breakfast location which comes with unlimted hot drinks till 12:00 at a reasonable price.
Overall, a great place for food and a drink.

c.£20 for two mixed grills on a Friday! Banging very cheap the fake Guinness is pretty good too but not quite as good as the og Guinness but very friendly staff and overall great experience will come again

H. D.The Crwys is a good local pub that serves its community well. It does a bit of everything. It's often serving a few old-boys there for a chat, some sports fans, dining couples, students, the after-work crowd and any number of other folk. There's a decent choice of beers (Brains + guests) and food.

Apart from that everybody enjoyed themselves extremely. Apart from that day . I then had another party of 16 the Goldies we were all satisfied as we chose different menus that was on New Years Eve lunch time .
