The first time I had ever took a trip to the UK was a weeks trip to Cardiff. I traveled from Texas. Everywhere I went, I had to get something local. And my visit to the Duke of Wellington was no different. I had met a friend at the time and his family for a pint. I can get almost any beer in the states, But I wanted something local. So of course I had to have a Brains. It was good and quickly became one of my favorites. Sadly I can't find it here in the states (Texas). But the pub was brilliant and the building was beautiful. Not to mention the people were so nice and accommodating. Hopefully someday I can return. If I am able, the Duke of Wellington will be on the top of my list of return visits. If you've never been, I highly recommend it.

Vrey nice place to have a meal and a beer. We actually spent 3 hours inside, tried a lot of the food from the menu and it is all excelent. There was a discoubt 50% for pub classic foods so it was a real bargain.

Friday's between 5-8pm 2 glasses of prosecco for £5. Great relaxed atmosphere, really busy bar with attentive staff. At times it's standing room only. We only drank here but other diners had food clearing their plates.

Stopped off here while shopping for drinks & food Wasn't disappointed, drinks albeit a little pricey nice, but the food is to die for, we had roast of the day sandwich which came with roast potatoes, stuffing balls & small jug of proper gravy. Big plus all food was piping hot and you could tell it was fresh not microwaved. Would highly recommend a drop off here for lunch whilst shopping anytime

Nice place for a pint in the centre of Cardiff. Cosy and nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and we were served quickly. The app was down and they were only taking cash, which was a minor inconvenience but not a huge deal. Friendly staff, good drink prices, great location. Big old pub on the edge of Mill lane , Cardiff Cafe Quarter, all of the fun at half the price. On a nice day sit outside and people watch. It's on the corner of Caroline St , chip alley to locals . Warm and friendly, with great desserts and people-watching. Tastefully decorated, but not precious about it. Just right, really. Ducked in to get a quick bite and get off our feet for a few, but that hour or so ended up being one of the low-key nicest bits of our visit to Cardiff (which was very nice overall!).

Great traditional feeling pub in the centre if cardiff. Good for pub lunches and great pre gig drinks in the motorpoint arena cos it's 5 minutes walk away. Also ideal for a shopping lynch. Good vfm food too

This is really the only genuine pub left in the centre of Cardiff - it's a nice little water hole which is next to John Lewis and St David's shopping area - many partners are left there when the other is shopping - but it's great for everyone
