S.Tasty food and tasty drinks! Can be a bit hectic at times and staff arent always the nicest. Been there a couple of times and be warned, they dont always serve cocktails!
Edit: Would just like to add that I'm well aware of the difference between 2-for-1 cocktails and not serving cocktails and unfortunately one night when we popped in for evening drinks they were not serving cocktails at all because as the staff said "it was too busy."
K. J.Food was lovely, have visited many times and have not had a bad meal. Only downside is the service is really slow. We ordered starters, mains and drinks all together, my husband's main came out with my starter and he had almost finished eating before my main came, by this point we were still waiting for our first set of drinks, we could see them on the bar but the staff were walking past them or standing around talking, trying to get their attention was a problem, they always avoided eye contact and pretended they did not hear us. Service has always been slow, before the app, we had to wait on average 45mins to get our bill, but the food and cocktails are lovely so always return. I would recommend Henry's, but allow enough time.

C. V.We was a party of 3 and waited to be sat, only to be told that we could look for a seat that wasnt reserved. So we had to wander through the restaurant looking for a table,only to observe the same waiter showing people to tables who also hadnt reserved anything.We then waited over an hour for food.quite disappointed by the service.

The food was exceptional, though what really made our evening was our waitress, Izzy, who was unfailingly polite, attentive, professional and friendly; we felt very well taken care of.

J. S.Came for my table booking yesterday at 7:30pm - arrived 10 minutes early but this was no issue, very polite man directed us to our table. The atmosphere wasn't great, there was extremely loud music which meant everyone was talking very loudly to be able to hear each other and the noise caused me to have a sensory overload.
I ordered the Hunters chicken, the bacon was burnt and the chicken was very dry - I couldn't finish my meal. The chips were quite nice though. My husband enjoyed his meal. The waitress brought our bill over and just walked away, no card machine or offer and no one checked during the meal to see if everything was ok. We did have to walk around to find how to pay the bill which was difficult because I was struggling with the noise. I wouldn't say the food is worth the price, but some people won't mind paying it.
Overall, I don't think I would go back, but I think the website should be updated to explain that it can be loud and lively in there or with loud music so that people with sensory processing difficulties are aware of the noise and can avoid the distress.
Judging by the many good reviews, it may have just been a busy day we chose to go and it may not be the case at other times during the week.
H. L.Nice enough place, if a bit off the main drag. Six of us booked a table and had a choice of inside or outside, we chose the latter. Drinks were ok, good range of larger and cocktails, less choice if you like ale. We had to order the first round via a person as had paid a deposit. No problem with that except I think we were forgotten and after a long wait I had to go to find someone. Staff very friendly and helpful otherwise and we will definitely go back as usually has a table.

A. J.While the chaos of the world rages, Henry's is the calm in the storm! Seemingly an everpresent on Cardiff's bar scene, you will get professional staff, a friendly atmosphere and heavy furniture! The food is good too, I went for the duck, but if you're there for lunch I recommend the Club Sandwich: it's a tradition!

A.We were lucky enough to get a table outside within 5-10mins of arriving. Table and chairs were fully wiped before we sat down and we had to complete the online track and trace before ordering but service was quick and waiters wore masks when bringing drinks over. Weather was out of their control but given the current circumstances it was a great experience.

We visited on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year and the place was very quiet. Very smart, clean, all as expected. The staff were courteous but took what seemed to be a long time to serve at the bar given that Henry's was almost empty and I was the only person waiting. On arriving I was warned by my friends that it would take a while to be served. So nothing wrong with the bar etc. just the speed of service.

Today it was hectic, not enough staff on (I found out from another customer there was a theatre show on near by) the staff there were fab, just didnt roster enough of them. The food was lovely and hot and good value. The reason I've given 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars is the management should be aware of local events and staff accordingly. Having said that, go and try the place, you'll enjoy it

We only had drinks on our visit. I asked for non-alcoholic beer and was told that they had two, but the barman could only find one, Becks. They had a good range of cocktails on offer, but we visited mid-afternoon on a Sunday so didn't sample these!
Nothing exceptional, but a solid 3 nonetheless.

The restaurant and toilets were clean and tidy - open plan with a nice airiness. We visited mid Sunday afternoon and although it was fairly quiet, the ambience was nice. Welcoming.

W. J.5 of us had lunch menu. Vegetarian chili very spicy. Hunters chicken tough, bacon very fatty so bad didn't eat it. Surprised to find no alternative to dairy milk on offer so all went to Costa after for coffee. Really like the decor and ambience and the waitress was great but won't eat here again before a show
l. h.We went for a meal today & whilst what we had was OK, the choice was abismal. They had run out of many items, and the 'Make your own sundae' was 1 desert spoon of ice cream (& that' s being generous) & a minute amount of fruit! We felt sorry for the staff serving the food.
Come on management - shape up, it's January 2nd - there were many supermarkets open.
L. T.Nice place to eat or drink. Reasonably priced and the staff friendly and polite. There is disabled access but you have to go around the back to get in and go down a tiny little Lane and usually taxis block your access a bit but they do move. The front has got steps but if your outside you can't really get the attention of the staff to get you in if you need wheelchair access. There's no bell or notice saying access at the back. You have to rely on customers outside to go in and alert a staff member for wheelchair access. However a good place to visit.

The bar staff were good enough and the meal, we both had the battered cod, was good. The minus point is that the only available table was still covered with the plates etc of the last diners, so we cleared it ourselves, and again after we finished. Clearing the tables was very much an afterthought for the staff.

S. B.Nice choice of food and drinks, all cocktails and mocktails are 2 for 1 priced after 4pm daily, so it comes to be reasonably priced per glass. Plenty of seating available, even outdoors. Free WiFi available. Situated right in the City centre, so good place to meet up after work.
M. A.Went for breakfast before work, a little on the expensive side and the kippers looked as though it had come out of a packet. However, it was still tasty, eggs were cooked perfectly as was the bacon. Very quiet so early, but service was still attentive and worth going to.

There shouldn't have been cheese residue on a burger requested without cheese. The mortified staff brought a second burger with no cheese and we paid full price full price for our meals and left.

J. D.Went here at 10pm on a Wednesday in December after a show in the Motorpoint in Cardiff. We were hoping to have hot drinks and food before going home. The signs behind the bar said "coffee served here all day every day" which we thought was a good sign of its cafe status. We had been to a bar close to the Motorpoint before the show and were drinking shorts with mixers at £14 for a round of four - great prices for a city centre bar. Arrived at Henry's and tried to order a sharing platter and hot drinks but were disappointed to be told that they did not serve hot drinks or any food after 10pm. The bigger shock was the round of drinks which cost £28! Henry's is within three minutes walking distance of the New Theatre and we expected them to be used to serving people post show but were disappointed that they didn't seem to realise what many people want after a show - a place to sit and talk about the show with some food and drink thrown in. My advice would be to go in the day and early evening as long as you don't mind high bar prices

H.Booked on the Internet as I was attending the theatre close by, meet and greet was as expected and we were shown to a table by the window not the most spacious however the service was excellent prior to the food, we all ordered from the main menu(fish was outstanding) I had the steak and was slightly disappointed that they were not prepared to do a garlic sauce to accompany my steak(I find most restaurants do which gives me great pleasure with a personal touch) we also ordered wine and overall the experience was excellent, only gripe was steps up to our table and my mother was in a walker
