B. L.One of my favourite pubs in Cardiff, great friendly staff and a really good pint of Brains SA. Steeped in Welsh Rugby history and memorabilia. The Old Arcade is a must to visit and have a nice tipple!

N. D.It always amazes me that a large city centre pub has the feeling of a local pub in the suburbs yet this place pulls it off every time. I've also noticed the food is different, better!, than what Brains used to turn out. now it is genuine 'good pub grub' so you know what to expect. Last visit I had the Ham, egg and chips, proper! F. G.Atmosphere and servers were nice, but the roast really wasn't great. The best part was the roast potatoes, but the beef was SO chewy and the swede mash stuff was flavourless. Horseradish sauce was good though. Overall it was OK, but I'm not going back for a roast there any time soon.
c. t.I love the Old Arcade especially match day. However im at a loss to understand why tables were out for the Wales v England game.
Granted it was an away game but its the biggest game in the rugby calender so its like a normal match day in Wales. The place was heaving you could barely move, people were not moving away from the bar after buying drinks and you had to go around the outside to get to the toilets. We had to leave in the end instead of having our nigbt there. Bad decision by The Old Arcade to have tables out.

p. f.Banging. Walked in at 1pm on a Sunday, served in about 1 minute, at the table, no covid rubbish. Carling on tap, two sunday dinners; 7 quid each. Beef portion served was about half a cow, tasted brilliant, was incredible value Turkey wasnt bad either . Good lunch. Rugby on 2 different tvs. Staff are nice too. Conveniently located.

R. G.I love going to the old arcade on match day, the atmosphere it fantastic, the staff are great characters and always welcoming. Last time we were in for the Wales vs Barbarians game (Gats waving goodbye was emotional) we we're treated to a front row seat with Boycezone who are always a welcome site in any pub.
Also a major point to the old arcade is that Brains Dark is available on tap! Absolutely the best place for any rugby fan (and Brains drinker) to be!

A. C.The atmosphere and the staff are absolutely lovely, however the roast beef was really disappointing! No Yorkshire pudding, not enough gravy and the beef was really hard and dry. I guess it is only £7.50 but still, wasn't very good. I recommend this place if you just want a casual drink or breakfast, but not for a Sunday roast.
T. G.One of Cardiff's finest pubs. Great atmosphere, good food and nice ale! Brilliant location for Rugby days. Situated close to the Principality Stadium. But don't worry if you haven't got a ticket for the match. Watch it here, plenty TV screens at a height that everyone can see.

S. W.Popped in the Old A' for a swift pint after a long day, as per I was greeted with a smile from the staff, who I must say aren't afraid to engage with customers unlike other chain pubs. This time I went for the S.A which was delightful and made me want more, The server JC made it her mission to make me smile and lift me out of a mood deeper than the gates of hell, her spirit provided a unicorn to ride up from my mood to the bar where i haf to have another pint. 10/10.
G. W.I found this by wandering around and stumbling on it. A rugby themed pub, well it is Cardiff and near Arms Park, it is a snug location, with lots of rugby memorabilia. The food is predictable but satisfying, I had the beast burger I think it is called. Filling and tasty and reasonably priced.

It's a no frills kind of pub with plenty of character, & is anyone's & everyones pub.
It's great central location in the Hayes makes it a great meeting place, & it has a smoking area out the back, with a side entrance in the laneway which takes you in to the market's side door.
This establishment never lacks atmosphere, & when Wales are playing at home, The Old Arcade is a mix of nations, with loud merry patrons, singing & dancing in to the wee hours.
P. B.It's so good to see that somethings haven't changed in my dear old Cardiff. Whilst my visit to the City and seen so many changes to to the Old City I made my way to Cardiff Market and then I saw a site for old eyes.....
The Old Arcade. Cautiously approaching the entrance I opened the door to see that at last some things have not changed in Cardiff.
The Old Arcade was still a proper BrAIns drinkers pub. I order a Pint of BrAIns Best Bitter and when I took the first sip .... Ahhhr it was like nectar. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. The atmosphere in the bar was like a traditional old BrAIns. No jukeboxes blaring out music. The only modern day technology I didn't take to there where Tv's all over the place showing different channels without any sound? The point of that? I don't know. Otherwise, a great BrAIns Pub as always
