Had a lovely breakfast with family here on Sunday, it was quiet and the staff were really accommodating with us ordering things that weren't strictly on the menu. Really fair prices, especially for the coffee which was so good!! We had a toddler with us and felt really welcomed. And it was nice and clean when we visited too. There are seasonal drinks and board games so I see potential for tipsy Scrabble in the future. A couple of years ago my boyfriend and I used to come here for dates which was always really nice.

Very friendly staff, it's a brains pub so I had something I've had in another brains pub. The creamy mushroom pasta was a little tasteless compared to the usual. Ambiance was good. Takeaway containers were biodegradable so thumbs up for that.

Warm welcome. Spotless. Food was quick and really tasty. Slightly more expensive than I thought but worth it. Staff super chill and friendly. Whole place is based around a swirly staircase and toilets are on the ground floor.

This was a very pleasant place to pop in for a drink with friends after work. A nice ambience with just the right level of chatter for a decent conversation. It was 1 in 1 out when we arrived but we didn't have to wait long at all. One way system with table service worked perfectly and the drinks arrived in stunning glasses. I would have liked to see a drinks menu but the staff were able to list everything available. We didn't eat on this visit but didn't feel we were hogging a table for diners either. I recommend.

Attended here for a friends wake, lovely place split over 3 floors. The toilets are down stairs however I didn't check for the disabled as wasnt required. Food was great and beer was good. Took slightly longer for food and had to leave some of it along with a beer as my parking time was due too expire. Parking is limited near by and thr only issue.

Very nice place to be Saturday afternoon or maybe when you like! We choose a quiet corner in a lovely afternoon! Enjoy the Albany view! Cosy atmosphere and lovely personnel! Internet for free! Pleasant! Look at t the delicious pea soup with coconut and turmeric! The black dots are Nigella a bit spicy and very healthy!

Always love coming in here for my buttermilk chicken, food is always up to a high standard. Bar staff are always friendly and a nice range of drinks. When weather permits its always nice to see if you can grab an outside table, and it's nice to see the staff are helpful when taking table orders instead of flapping making you use an app if you're not so tech minded. Lovely place in general.

I got there early as I was meeting a friend there but decided I needed to get out of the rain. I found a table & ordered a few drinks waiting for my friend Brains Bitter, Rev James & Barry Island IPA. Initially I thought the Brains bitter tasted a bit off but I'm not sure if not many people were drinking it as my second pint of it tasted much better. I was glad to find these drinks on tap especially Brains Bitter as I hadn't had a pint of it for awhile. We both also ordered food myself going for the gammon steak & my friend Glamorgan sausages. I found my food nice enough & what I would expect for the price. Overall I liked the decor & vibe of the place. I found the staff friendly & helpful with my enquiries regarding how to order food etc.

Would like to say thanks to the gentleman who was seating the customers and explaining the rules of the pub, funny, concise and helpful. The staff worked hard and were also friendly and helpful, I think that although you pay a small bit more than in other pubs. Here it is worth it.

Lovely, trendy pub in a very convenient place. Staff are always friendly and helpful when I’ve visited. Place is great to visit on a nice, sunny day. Only gripe would be that it is/can get quite cramped in there, I’m not sure much else can currently be done about that, although maybe some more tables for outside would help? Nice pub though, definitely one to visit if you haven’t been before.

This pub/bar has a nice feel to it. It's not very big, so can get full quite easily leading to a bit of trouble finding somewhere to sit. Drinks are quite expensive and not a great choice of beers. When I've had food in here it's been very good. In summary, it's nice if you can get a good seat!

This rating is for the food only. We've had vegetarian options only and they were fab. The toilets however were very smelly and very dirty - not nice. And this is on Sunday 4pm. Staff were polite. Rev James was too warm but dark brains stout was fresh and creamy.

Had a good chat with a lot of the staff and they are all lovely. It's really rare for me to go out to a pub just to chill, however, this one made me feel right at home! With a selection of different board games, free wifi and amazing food its a win win everywhere you look!

Great food in a great setting. A fantastic place to relax whatever time of day. :) Strangely enough though the Pear Tree does not sell any pear cider, much to the puzzlement of my German friend I once took there. I could not explain to him why this was not the case for a place named after the fruit! It's another mystery...

On the site of the old Globe Cinema. I believe there is still a live music venue behind this pub called the Globe. As for this pub, I can only say that it is quite busy on match days as there isn't much in the way of competition - looks a bit rough from the outside. Possibly a bit of a Student pub judging by the area.

Not bad in hear. I think it's a Brains owned pub which is great. But it could do with some guest ales. First time I came he was for a pub quiz with a couple of friends who use this pub as a regular. And as far as pub quizzes go it was pretty good. Also buy the chirizo crisps they sell behind the bar.

A great atmosphere with alot of possibility for weekend or weekday entertainment. Fun for couples or friends to enjoy, as it's not much of a family orientated area. The drinks a slightly expensive but varied and unusual, the atmosphere soon makes up for it's lack of cheapness and it being a quaint bar with a rustic approach to it, so it's forgiven for being abit different . There are lots of changes coming to this place as it's started to do daily changes to the regime, so take the time to look, you'll definitely want to !

Come here often for a beer and it's lovely for that don't get me wrong nice staff, friendly people good atmosphere. decided to stay for some grub for the first time, and this is were it lets itself down, highly priced but then just lack lustered food, girlfriends "posh" fish finger sandwich had 2 maybe 3 pieces of fish goujon in it making it more of a rocket sandwich and my mac cheese had apsoutly no flavour and felt store bought. With juno lounge around the corner I don't know why you wouldn't take a short stroll and go there for food.

Giovanni's on the Prom the oldest cafe on the promenade. Run by John "Giovanni" Zeraschi for half a century. Old school, friendly, family priced, with his son Michael and great staff in attendance. During week days 10am-noon local musicians play country, rock and roll, blues,and chart hits outside the cafe in summer and inside it during the winter The cafe is open all year round, and is visited by people from all over the world who come time and time again.
