B. J.Great boozer, beers cheap, don't go to the toilets hold it in and wait till you get to another pub, the toilets are disgusting ,that's the only thing that let's this pub down .
A. F.Nice enough local 'pub' that could do with a little bit of spot & polish as a little bit worn. Has some good pictures on the wall of historic Cardiff to show what it was like before the enormous stadium was built, now 20years ago.

The biggest criticism about the place would be the toilets which have not been updated since i first went there 15 years ago.

Would highly recommend visiting here. Great people, welcome and good atmosphere. We will be returning and highly recommend a visit.
S. N.Went in recently for probably the first time in over a decade - decent pub, staff friendly, range of beer is ok, not great. Bit of a particular clientele. Show sport. Downstairs is in better condition than the upstairs, but it's quiet up there to watch sport. Pool table as well.

D. T.I used to really like this place, but they have made some odd choices. Finding a seat was always rare and now they have removed more seats to install a pool table!! And they disconnected the jukebox after i purchased songs on my last visit. Average pub with nice beer.

R. G.The Rummer serves decent bottled ales and has some decent beers on tap. The location in the city is good and the exterior of the building is a historic style.
Sadly, over recent years there's been a lack of upkeep and the interior is sorely needing repair and maintenance. The toilets seem to regularly overflow too.
G. R.Good selection of well kept real ales and a real cider. Comfortable traditional pub surroundings in a central location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is nothing fancy, but a good burger and chips for around a fiver is a decent alternative to the usual Mcd / burger king
M. J.Since Keith took over this place it’s become our new local for the Cardiff City games. About 8 to 10 of us go in here every home game and now I’v heard the poor guy has been let go. This guy was one of the nicest people to work behind a bar, his service was on point and honesty this place WILL NOT be the same without him. You need to 100% get him back if you want this pub to be as busy is it is.
C. A.I must admit that I am a regular to the Rummer Tavern, It is, like someone has mentioned, a proper little pub not a chain style bar, which is great as I like to support the little guys. Every time I have visited I have received really good customer service, some of the staff are quite if not a little shy but they are characters just like the other regulars to the pub and they never forget a face. The food is lovely, my favourite being the Cajun Chicken or one of their HUGE Sunday roasts on a Sunday of course.
I've not yet tried any of the ales but they have a good range of drinks which is surprising for a little place.
Yes it is a little dark and some of the tables and benches rock (you tell me of a place where there aren't any wobbly tables?!?) but its a nice little place to go for a quiet pint and to escape all the chain bars and pubs.
A.A nice pub with a good selection of drinks to choose from, with a cosy atmosphere. If you wish to do something other than just drink, there is a pool table available which costs 60p for one game, or £1 for two.
A double rum and coke with a pint of Guinness came to just under £5, so the prices are very good if you are looking for a good place to drink on the cheap.

r.Been in a few times on a wednesday for karaoke and hope to go in again many more times.the spin and win is a great idea.chance to win a shot or win a random prize.and the kekarao dj is nice and he's fun too and a good singer.drink is very cheap.i only wish karaoke days were different as they clash with kiwis where I've gone regular for a while now.if the day changed to maybe a monday for karaoke I'm sure they would get a lot more custom just for the karaoke.but it does seem a shame more don't use it as you can't ask for more than nice staff and cheap drink.and kiwis opens later so it's always possible to go for a bit after rummer tavern,about 3 hours in each,that makes for a perfect Wednesday.

N. Q.The place itself is a bit run down and scummy aesthetically but it's very well kept and cleaned, the staff are quite frankly phenomenal. Very friendly and accommodating. This would of been a 3 star besides the redemption of a VERY good pint of Guinness, properly poured by multiple bartenders and the right temperature
