C. W.The food arrived without the advertised accompaniments. When asked we were told that they would be out in a minute. Chips on one plate were stone cold and all the chicken was dry without the missing dips and coleslaw. The missing items didn't arrive.
The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming though.
M. A.The Ivor Davies is a Wetherspoons pub on bustling Cowbridge Road East. It's an acquired taste even by local standards but much beloved by the older clientele. The drinks are incredibly cheap and the food menu has a broad range of special offers and deals which makes it a popular venue in Canton.
P. M.Nice boozer, cheap booze and plenty of tvs to watch sport. Alway my favourite haunt when wales play home on an international rugby day

D. M.I call in here some times to meet up with friends before Wales home games. On the night of the Estonia game they had security on the door controlling how many people were in there. Service was OK. The beer I wanted was off. Not as packed as it used to be before previous home games, probably a sign of the times we are living in. They were still serving food but I did not order any, so cannot comment.

B. P.Haven't tried the food there, but what I saw seemed good value typical for a wetherspoons. (I now have tried the food there and was disappointed with the portion size, missing bits and pieces advertised but not arriving with my order) Staff are polite, beer is cheap. Good corvid/social distancing measures in practise. Whether customers adhere to them is another matter.
L. H.It's a nice place for a cheap meal and a drink, it's just a lot of the client are mainly there all day drinking. Not a place I would take children myself but service is very good staff are also very polite and appear happy in there jobs and give an excellent service to the customer's. It's a bit dated and tired now as well but it works for the current clientele base.
M.Brilliant chill spot for afternoon tea with unlimited free refills on tea and coffee, ideal for quiet catch ups.

T. R.Good service, decent, hot food, pub grub. Lots of people in the pub drinking at 11am so seating was a bit limited on the ground floor, thankfully there's more seating upstairs, which is quieter. We just wanted a breakfast and a coffee - great for the money.
D. 6.Bar staff not trained enough they had to ask questions about everything,no receipt was offered had to ask then had to wait again while another member of staff came over to print one. Breakfast brunch was fine except my one and a half slice of bacon half being missing, was totally dried out and shattered when fork went in. Everyone else's bacon was fine won't be returning as I was paying it wasn't a nice experience.
N. G. U.I have been spending time here in the last couple of weeks. I have have breakfast 🥣 and work through, using the free WiFi until about 4pm 🕓. You can have a refill coffee ☕ for as little money as £1.50, and trust me it very good quality coffee, better than what you get from many coffee shops out there. I will recommend sitting upstairs if you want a bit of quiet 🤫.

N.Cheap good quality food, great choice of alcohol, clientele can be somewhat rough around the edges although most lovely and friendly. Staff are excellent and friendly mostly. Service excellent especially with the new app that allows you to order from your table. Definitely recommend.

n. *.It's a Wetherspoon's so you know what to expect - a good selection of drinks and pub grub. I love my pint of John Smith's while browsing over the Sunday papers but don't go near there when Cardiff City are at home - it's chaos!

E. S.I've been to some Wetherspoons pubs that are beautiful old buildings that have been converted - well, this isn't one of those. However, I have no complaints about the food (you know what to expect and it's very good value for money) but I must say that the staff were lovely. In particular Matt and Doc who made 5 weary travelers very welcome and couldn't have been more accommodating. Thank you guys!
M. C.Nice Wetherspoon pub. It has an upstairs area that is a bit more quiet than the ground floor. There's also an small outdoor area at the back, but it's surrounded by walls and would not be recommended except for smokers.
M. M.It's a good place to meet your friend's before a night out. How ever it is wall to wall chatter which can put some people off. Drinks are cheapish and the menu is ok. Service is excellent
M. W.First off the staff are very friendly and pleasant, the drinks are cheaper than most places and the food smells absolutely fantastic. There are a few problems it's in canton Cardiff so the customers are not the most pleasant People you would want to meet, if u like screaming kids and kids running around it's the place for you. Why do single mothers with 5 kids with 5 different father's think it's ok to get drunk and leave their brats spoiling every others might out. The front of the pub is for non smokers but you can guarantee there are trash smoking out there. Maybe they can't read but it doesn't surprise me being in canton.

m. g.Is this the wetherspoons? The picture was too small. I saw over 100 naked people on bikes out the window. Whys it cost 50p for BBQ sauce on your burger, yet they have heinz bbq sauce for free with all the condiments.

Serving all the good stuff on their bar menus at affordable prices, & a vast selection of ales to sample on tap, this is a great venue if you're watching your pennies.
The Ivor Davies is somewhat of a meeting place in Canton. Situated in the busy thoroughfare of shoppers, just footsteps away from Tescos, this pub is never short of customers.

V. A.It's a Weatherspoons pub so expect cheap drinks, some rowdy drinkers and families calling in for lunch, although I wouldn't take my kids there.
I go there regularly on a Sunday morning and apart from one miserable manager/barperson called Hayley (who hardly ever says "please" or "thank you," makes you walk to her to collect your drink and gives the impression she'd rather be somewhere else), the rest of the staff are chatty and friendly.
