F.Great Venue, nice and spacious area for groups, couples etc. Absolutely love the Decor also like the Games Area, Staff were helpful, friendly + communicated well - quality pool table and table tennis area an all roubd great relaxing vibe / atmosphere and wide range of drinks on sale on draught / spirits etc definatly will be going back nect time I'm in the area
O. M.Absolutely brilliant place. Went here today for a kids disney party and the effort they had gone to was amazing. Kids had a blast, lovely staff and will definitely be back again (without the kids) 😂😂 lots of arcade games and ping pong table, pool table etc to keep you entertained. Thanks guys for a lovely day
F.Lovely little place- been going for over a year now. Friday night karaoke is always a good night out and the staff are welcoming and inclusive. Highly recommend!
D. Z.The pub is very cozy and safe.there are some new fun stuff,like pinpong, and some game machine.(wish can get more game machines) the Thursday night open mic is the best.I like the all staff there,they are very cute and friendly.and the drink is very cheap there. Recommend strongly
S. A.I really like going to The Vulcan Lounge because it's very cheap for food and drinks and the staff are very friendly and welcoming
D. B.Alright pub, drinks are well priced and good for value. Seating is comfortable and they have a decent area to play pool. The outside seating area is comfortable for smokers and people wanting fresh air. However the only frustrating thing was that they couldn't take card at the time.
S.Has a pool table. Has TVs. Pretty decent place. Very "studentville" though as it is located in Cathays.

G. H.Have only been here a couple of times and think it has a great mix of things for customers to do. Covid restrictions were thorough. Very student orientated, which in my opinion is a good thing, as someone in their late 30's, makes me feel younger, lol! 😂 Great place to socialise :-)
T.Not a perfect spot but it's a nice pub with plenty of space, great events and lovely staff. Toilets are serviceable and drinks are on the cheaper side (especially when you catch a deal). Ideal for a large group.

G. B.A very welcoming pub who accommodate for student and locals. Can not fault the new management under Kyle and the batwing. Jade is the reason people return to the golden pub of Cathays. A pub that used to be the runt of the pubs in cathays but the welcoming nature of the staff such as Jade and Rum is fantastic. This bar is on the up.

P. G.While staying in Cathay's for a stag weekend the volcan was our local pub. It has a great atmosphere and the staff really made the place. Happy hour(£2 a pint) went down very well too. Only wish we had tried the food, it looked and smelt great!
L.Anywhere with a pool table gets 5* from me, although pints watered down a bit😬😬😂
h.Loud and gariy, seating arrangements are a bizarre cross between a cocktail bar and an every old man's local, obviously trying to attract the students in the area but as a student I can say that the Vulcan is definitely always the last resort, also they had a carling cider on tap which I didn't know even allowed by law
