Popped in here for breakfast after struggling to find a vegan fry up and the options were amazing. I went for the vegan breakfast and vegetable gyozas. The toast could have done with some plant based butter but other than that the sausages were tasty, hash browns fried perfectly, and mushrooms were good too.

Great pub. Good selection of drinks, well priced, nice atmosphere. The pub is in the heart of the student area, but non-students aren't made to feel unwelcome. Nice beer garden, and two great bar areas.

Friendly, helpful staff. The ’Woody’ has a range of craft and real ales and an affordable food menu. The small bar can cause long queues when the pub is busier during popular televised events or hot weather. You can absolutely get an arrogant (big head) Guinness here.

Extremely friendly atmosphere and polite staff. Nice range of drinks, although not a huge range. Loved the decor and wish I'd taken a picture! The place was booked for an event and we were asked to clear out for it - the barstaff handled this in a really polite way and didn't make us feel like this made us at all unwelcome. Gigantic beer garden, tidy toilets on each floor. Happy I went there. Good times were had.

Sian has been a great hostess, and I have really enjoyed our time here, even with the Covid guidelines. She’s been understanding and conscious towards our situation and thoughts. Strong student pub. Always visited after (sometimes instead of) lectures at uni and it was always a favourite. Prices maybe a bit higher than some of the others around but atmosphere/comfort aren’t comparable so it’s worth the extra price. Pub quiz was always fun too.

Only been here a couple of times. I love the set out of the bar. There's both a ground floor and a lower floor which is where the main beer garden is situated. It's a great beer garden, well lit and many heaters for where ever you decide to sit. Each day they have different offers specific for those days. It is situated in the centre of student houses but I've always enjoyed the visit. And the students weren't in drunken states so I felt comfortable chilling with them.

What happened to the old menu?!?! Tried the new menu today (August 9) and was very disappointed with the quality and value of the food. I had the triple burger that sounded amazing on the menu but in reality felt a like a cheap, quickly slapped together meal almost comparable to McDonalds. The gluten free menu has been drastically reduced to essentially a side of chips. Of course all the great things about the Woodville still stand but unfortunately we won't be returning for our Friday lunches.

A pub I've not been to in about 15 years but it was a good atmosphere and is clearly a student boozer real ales on tap and in cans as well as the usual pub food. Decent, well priced and would be a good location to meet before moving on.

Very nice pub with a great selection of local ciders (if your not a beer fan - which they also have a good choice of apparently). Really lovely place to hangout with friends if you can grab a seat, but would not recommend for s quite pub trip. Staf a super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Decent pub frequented mainly by students. The prices for food and drink are reasonable. They have several pool tables and a lovely outside seating area. However every time I have visited you can smell the toilets.

I visited the Woodville a few times while I was working nearby. They have a range of local and independent lagers and beers that changed on a frequent basis although the chain beers were not my favourites. There is a beer garden and a downstairs area with a pool table.

A nice studenty pub with reasonable prices. The only thing is that I wish the menu had more cheese-free options, as a few times I've been there, there hasn't been anything I could have, and when I asked for cheese not to be put on, they forgot. Still, they corrected it without fuss though so I'd still recommend them.

I really liked this pub. It has a quirky quality to it. A great selection of booze and fantastic craft ales. A great beer garden that's surprisingly secluded away from all the city noise.

Went in for a few drinks on a Sunday, they have a great selection of real ales. Very presently surprised that they had a quiz on as well which was great fun to join in. Also as a vegan I didn't realise they have an absolutely amazing vegan menu with some great choices. Me and my friend shared some of the vegan chilli fries with violife vegan cheese and some vegan mayo! They were really good. Highly recommended

Good drinks on tap, only pub where I've observed queuing for service at the bar in an orderly fashion. Amazingly British but I suspect that it works well enough that it guarantees service where traditionally mass occupation of the space at a bar left service subject to random influences where subtle differences had disproportionately effects on services and time spent waiting on the same services.

Free charger leads and USB sockets for your phone, free printing for students, a great real ale selection, friendly bar staff, lethal ciders and on a Tuesday you can buy delicious caramel filled churros for just 25p a pop. One of the best pubs in Cardiff (and I've been to a few!!)...

Shout of to the staff at the woodville. Had to put of with 5 northern Irish guys. That was there for about 24 hours over 3 days. And the drinks weren't too bad either. But does anyone know what goes into a long Island ice tea? After about 15 jugs we are all still confused

Food is excellent if you're after that deep fried experience. They can do burgers to xmas meals. When im in Cardiff i go out of my way to have a meal there. I recently smashed 20 chicken wings with 2 sides for their wrestlemania party. The three sauces are great, the really F'n hot sauce demands respect, its a slow burner on the pallet.
