A short visit on business trip. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced menu with lots of offers and choice. I had the lamb chops. Very nice

We managed to get a table last minute today which was great. However our server who was lovely was very slow, we ordered drinks on arriving but had to chase several waiters for them. Once our food order was taken all was fine Nd our food arrived quite promptly. My son had a classic cheese burger and chips he's quite fussy but eat the lot and the burger was huge I had a salad which was really good, very fresh and lots of it husband had a fish finger sandwich with chips and loved it. Overall great value lovely place and the staff are welcoming, give it a try it's very good value for money

Hands down the best food I have had all week. All of London could take a lesson from this restaurant. Mind boggling delicious. We got the wrong dessert and even that was incredible!! Highly recommended. I'll travel all the way from Texas to eat here again

Service was very welcoming on arrival and good for the start of the meal.
The pate we ordered took awhile to arrive (with the sourdough being substituted for French bread, without being advised of this) during which the main courses turned up, so we had to send them back to the kitchen.
The Glamorgan sausages were very good. The pie crust was nice but the filling lacked substance and the gravy was tasty, but a little lumpy.
We might have considered pudding but were not offered the opportunity to order this.
On the plus side there were 5 real ales and all were well kept.

Catering for a large party of 14, when another large party was due in, the customer service was excellent. Food ordered separately at the bar and all came out together for the whole table. Food was very good and affordably priced. Thank you for making us all feel welcome.

Staff were fantastic and the place is lovely however let down so much by the standard of food. Steak was chewy, the butterfly chicken was strange like a thick meat deep fried. No succulent like chicken should be. Small portions too and not much selection. Sorry to say we won’t be back even though the place is lovely

Visited with my son for Mother's Day. He had a beef brisket roast lunch which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had a curry. It was very tasty but I did feel as though it had been warmed up, more than once, as it was very dry. Having said that, I would visit again as I have been in the past and thoroughly enjoyed my food.

It's a Brains pub so expect the food to be quick and cheerful. The prices are great and the quality is ok for the price. The service is pretty quick and the staff are friendly.
Plenty of parking but the spaces are not the widest. I had a note on my windscreen with some sarcastic comment about using a tin opener to get in their car. I actually made the point of re positioning my car because we had kids to take out of both sides of my car but clearly they needed even more room for their range Rover.
I ordered a brownie for a desert. Wow that was way too big. They actually make it and serve in a frying pan. It's huge and even though it's nice, probably a bit too big. See image of how ridiculous it is :).
Overall it's a nice pub with friendly staff. They ales are great and you get what you pay for. No thrills just pub grub at a good price.

We arrived without booking a table, this was quickly resolved with complete professionalism as always. The service at the bar is great and the table service is amazing. Menu is always exciting and always spoilt when choosing the amazing food. Don’t change what you do it’s fab as it is.

This used to be my favourite place to eat. The last few times we have been the meals haven’t been great, small, cold or poor quality and the menu hasn’t changed for 2 years! Such a shame as we used to go most weeks as it’s our local pub.
T. P.
good welcome good service pleasant athmosphere and a good quiz. did not have food tonight but food is good at reasonable price. staff ery accomodating. go at least once a week for the quiz normally about 8 of us but has been disrupted due to covid and other problems . good place to go.
A. R.
pretty tavern, attractive interior, good service.
Best and biggest gammon steak ever and two eggs as standard AND proper chips!
Good choice of Alex AND on offer!

Firstly we had a great welcome at the door by lovely Lisa. She then show us to our table which was a good choice right by the window. we where then serve by other members of staff which I have to say where very friendly and helpful. But lisa was around all the time making sure everything was good and closing the door to keep everyone cosy .food was good too Thank you all

Lovely pub not too far from the train station. Nice outdoor section. I had a carling which was served ice cold as well as the lamb kofta. Good quality lamb with lovely sauce, good quantity too. I also had the ice cream (brecon honey, bueno, peach) and would recommend all those flavours.

Truly impressive and delicious fish and chips, a large portion well cooked and served with peas and chips. One of the main reasons I had not visited previously was I thought the TY NANT was another rival chain, with notoriously average 2 for 1 offer that may well be catching their fish in tiddlersville their chips from microwave city and their peas from the local rabbit hutch. The TY NANT gets five stars from me for all the right reasons.
C. M.
The staff were brilliant especially Tracy our waitress, but the food let the place down. Steaks were very grisly, burgers cremated and chips soggy.
C. L.
Very friendly and speedy service, great range of wines and food that myself and my children love - and there’s a play area and outdoors seating in the sun!
M. W.
Good selection of drinks. Clean and plenty of seats. No food available right now due to kitchen re-fit. May 30th 2022
V. M.
Nice family pub. the crowd is mostly locals. great place in the summer to take the kids out whilst having a drink or food. outdoor seating is great. the food is better than a lot of the local pubs, great Thai curries and sweet potato fries. salads and kids menu have a lot to improve, but overall not a disappointing experience.
j. c.
Food was great, served quickly, good value for money, meal for 2 offers.friendly staff
s. w.
Nice pub, food was lovely for a chain pub, staff friendly and nice garden to sit in
S. H.
Staff and manager are great there lately
I’m deaf and the manager lowered her mask so I could hear. Words can state what this means lately. Friendly prompt service from people who care and decent food and prices. ~ thank you

There had been a problem with the online booking system resulting in double bookings all afternoon, however the staff dealt with it well and were very professional and helpful. We have visited the Tynant many times and always experienced great service.
N.
Nice, quiet restaurant overall. Staff were helpful and food was cooked quickly, chips were delicious though the fish I had was chewy and slimy and not very well cooked (couldn't cut without quite a bit of effort).
Would eat here again just not order the fish and chips.
w. g.
Nice lovely little pub, food is lovely, staff are nice and the prices are reasonable, just wish they had their old menu back. Its been gone since covid, and that's a shame.
A. L.
Very friendly staff food was very nice really enjoyed and very good value highly recommended
M. C.
Very pleasant pub, we were served by Tracy very nice and friendly service, definitely will go back again 😋

Wonderful place to eat and drink. Gorgeous beer garden. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Food is good, dog friendly.
S. C.
Very nice meal. We had a Sunday lunch platter for 2. Great value for money
m. p.
Great little pub. Good service and decent food. I'll definitely be visiting again 👌👌
S.
We were staying in a B&B not far from this pub. I was tired and just wanted something nice and filling, this was the spot. I had booked a table for myself and my daughter. The service was good and the food for good too. We didn't wait to long for our food. They did forget to put cheese on the nachos and forgot to take the bacon off the burger. Everything was sorted, as soon as I asked. It was clean and nice.
M. H.
Absolutely stunning place , this was my second vist here the food is just truly amazing , the staff are beautiful, so friendly and polite, can't wait for my next vist
D. D.
Booking the table through the automated system was both convenient and easy, with the site/link being clearly described and operated. Well done!
G. L.
A delightful pub, we went for trivia night! There's a good beer selection and ample space
S. W.

J. P.
Excellent friendly staff, lovely food and lovely venue
o. w.
Basic food, some dishes on the menu had ran out.
Place could do with a face lift
A.
Good hearty food, good service and lots of space in this rustic pub that I believe has been around for hundreds of years. Good children’s menu, with pictures for them to colour in whilst waiting for food Nice location, and really big beer garden too. Loads of parking also.
s. s.
The food was lovely and the service quick. The staff were friendly and we as a large family enjoyed the visit. The children are already choosing the next meal that they want next time we come.
g. p.
Banging food in there never had a bad meal in there
S. A.
Very Cozy. Friendly staff. Good variety menu.
We had Nachos. It was a big portion. I would have liked a bit more toppings. But it was very tasty. The Katsu chicken started stole the show. We also had fried cauliflower which was yummy. If you love spice, take your own chilli sauce as they dont have any chilli sauce there. I found that quite bizzarre. Might help you to know that there are dogs there. Big outside seating area. It was really busy. Perhaps reserve your spot just incase. All in all a lovely visit.
P. T.
Excellent pub good priced food and drinks, service good, quiz night on Wednesday's
S. H.
Went for Sunday lunch which was very good, especially Glamorgan sausages. Cheesecake desert was disappointing though, no flavour and odd texture. Service a little slow but friendly. Decent value.
p. g.
We went on a nice warm evening and there were far more people outside than in. There is a decent size garden. Our waitress was friendly and talkative. The food was good with a fairly large portion. Toilets were clean. All serving staff wore masks and tables were cleaned between customers.
F. T.
What a lovely place! Food was great, really good value for money and the staff were the loveliest group of people! Really made us feel welcome and made a big fuss of our dog Huey.. we will definitely visit again and couldn't recommend there enough!

I would firstly like to say that my wife and I have very high standards.
My wife and I have passed this pub/restaurant a few times on our travels (we live in Bristol) and on each occasion we've said we'll have to try it out. Today is the day we did just that and we were not disappointed. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table. We were then given a menu and asked if we would like drinks to carry on with. We gave our drinks order to a staff member called Sarah. Three minutes later she came back with our drinks order and took our lunch order. Within five minutes our food was in front of us piping hot. Sarah made us feel like nothing was to much trouble and we were chatting along as if we were friends. Everything about this pub/restaurant, the drink, the food and the staff are in my opinion all top notch. It goes without saying, we will definitely be back. We'll done.
03.10.21. ***
Well we've been back on 3 more occasions and unfortunately it's been nowhere near like the first time. The staff were different (they may have been there the first time around, but we didn't see them)
and it felt like that everything was to much trouble, unlike the first time we went. Our dinner was only warm and we weren't even asked if everything was ok with our meals (both unlike the first time we were here). On one occasion I asked for some tomato sauce but it never arrived. It's the little things that made us go back again, but now it's the little things that are telling us not to go back again. As I said in my review, "we have high standards". Unfortunately those standards weren't met on the next 3 occasions.
From 5 stars, unfortunately down to a very generous 3 stars.

Went here on 15/11 for my daughters birthday, food was lovely hot and fresh. Atmosphere was lovely also well would definitely recommend.
O. G.
Great, filling food! Attentive land lady and most welcoming. Dog friendly with a water bowl and a barrel of water provided. Lovely garden seating. Opposite a very busy garden centre. Gardeners rejoice.
S. F.
The Vegan pasta was tasty but I was disappointed that the vegan apple crumble wasn't available.
O. R.
Great pub in a great location for local walks and bike rides! Luci and the team are very welcoming and very friendly, doesn't matter how busy they are they'll always be happy to help! Amy and the kitchen team also cook a mean steak 🥩
see you again soon 🍺
M. M.
Lovely friendly staff, who were really helpful with our two small children.
The meals were delicious (kids' apple crumble smelt amazing but vanished much too quickly for me to check!).
There was a notice outside saying that meals might be slow to arrive, but ours came promptly and staff were really quick to help.
Definitely deserves 5*.

We ordered ploughmans sandwich and cheese and chutney sandwich, expecting freshly made tasty food. Ended up both tasting the same. Stale bread, grated cheese out of a bag and smothered in some horrid chutney mix.
Really disappointed had a good meal there in the past. Standard definitely slipped.
Surely not too difficult to make a fresh cheese sandwich. Staff are corteous and place is clean.
G. O.
Lovely to be back after 16 months. Food good, staff friendly and they've done a fantastic job distancing the tables. Just so nice to be have a drink and a bite to eat in a safe environment.
K. R.
Had a chicken and mayo sandwich this was delicious reasonable price. Friendly staff will defanatly visit again soon
J. S.
Had the gammon steak and my meal was exactly as described my only critique would be the choice of what looked like tinned peas which looked rather pale compared to frozen or fresh peas.
M. L.
Was always a go too place , why keep changing the menu new and improved!!! .
B. R.
Speedy service and friendly staff. Very clean and tidy venue
A. J.
Friendly staff, very clean and lovely Christmas decorations. The veggie burger was delicious.
J. L.
Thank you for dealing with the "wrong booking" so professionally you saved the day for Mums 80th birthday meal, Well done x
L.
Great family pub! Good food! Good drink! And dog friendly what more could you ask for? This is definitely a flagship pub in Wales and with the Marstons takeover it’s got loads in the pipeline!
L. W.
Bit expensive for what you get. I wouldn't recommend the prawn cocktail
K. T.
Amazing Sunday Roast!!
Friendly staff always welcoming and smily :)
was a very busy one for them but standards didnt slip and everone in the bar area looked happy!
even had a joke and a laugh with the Manager on shift in the pink shirt who was helpful and friendly!
see you next Sunday :)
J. H.
I give five stars to the Sirloin steak that I had at lunch time. It was cooked perfectly, the meat was tender and so tasty.
E. J.
I love coming to the ty Nant as they do the best tasty rump steak along with the cockles and laver bread to start. The staff are always polite friendly and very helpful if i need something. Thank you for your service im very greatful ricky 👍👌x
Y. M.
Great staff, friendly, professional service. 50% discount made it a cheap meal. Worth a visit.
L. C.
Dog friendly pub great atmosphere and the food was excellent
A. B.
We always have great service at the Tynant and Alex James is always so friendly and helpful - great service
J. R.
Busy place , food ok for the price but not very cosy and very noisy.
A. S.
Great service, very well organised, food was only okay and choices for the £12 for 2 courses were fairly limited. Not somewhere I'll be rushing back to but not bad for a decent enough option from time to time.
P. P.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in safe surroundings. A one way system is in place, with hand sanitizers at the entry and exit and also at other points around the restaurant. Lis, our server was welcoming and very pleasant. All ordering is done at your table, and nothing was too much trouble for lisa. We have visited the Ty Nant many times pre Covid, but this was our first visit with all the precautions in place, it won't be our last. Thanks Lisa, brilliant evening.
P. W.
Excellent social distancing in practice and a one way system. We have been multiple times now and felt extremely safe. The food on offer is great value for money and extremely tasty with a huge variety to the menu.
R. L.
Lovely food and excellent service! Lamb steak was perfectly cooked.
J. A.
We were showed to our table but waited for over 10 mins for someone to come to order our drinks.Quite pleasant service though.
After having drinks we still hadnt been given any menus so we had to ask.
Food came which was ok as far as pub meals go but one meal was sent back as it was inedible and the person in our party was put off so didnt want a replacement
When the bill came that meal was still charged so we had to ask for it to be removed from the bill.
P. Q.
Nice pub, standard pub food but arrived quickly, I would have given a higher rating if it wasn't app ordering only, I will gladly go back when I can order verbally.
W. W.
We had to re-arrange our time to earlier and the staff were very helpful. The meal was lovely and our boy loved the play area. Thanks
A. C. J.
Warm welcome. Good food.
E. V.
Alex was lovely and smiley! Food came really fast 👍🏼
G. T.
We stopped here on way back from wedding at the vale resort hotel and wanted place for kids to chill and have a snack.
Very welcoming as we arrived earlier than opening time, the car park is fantastic, drive an SUV so adequate space. Kids play area is comfortable and the staff are warm and friendly. Food was Faultless, time there was comfortable.
The icing on the cake from a disaster was my wife left her phone there and realised whilst we was near home 200 miles up north. Contacted the manager and she posted the phone first class recorded and wouldn’t allow us pay for her troubles, genuine nice person and manager of a great pub. Can’t thank her enough only review the experience we had as she stated she was new to the venue. We will return. Highly recommended 👌🏻
C. A.
Loved the food, loved the staff, went here for a works do, very nice place
M. P.
Awesome food, definitely be coming again.
P. R.
Lovely little pub. Food is alway good.

I visited to Ty-Nant on Tuesday after the big lockdown and had an enjoyable couple of hours there ..
I hadn’t booked as it was a impromptu visit , but was quickly booked in by Liam and shown to my table and was fully explained how things was working there at this time , and was greeted by Luci who was busy , but not to busy to say hello and have a laugh and giggle with me and to welcome me back there .
After being greeted by Alex i opted for table service and set up a tab which i found the easiest option for me , the staff was buzzing about the outside area making sure things were being adhered to and cleaning all the time , (there are sanitizer stations dotted about for use ) .
My drinks was bought to my table and was always asked if i needed anything else and if i wanted anything just to give them a shout .. excellent service once again ..
I would strongly recommend the ty nant , as like all pubs re opening after lockdown they are doing their upmost to accommodate us back into the pubs ..
Excellent service shown again by Luci , Alex & Liam ... well done guys !
See you soon
E. L.
Staff are friendly and the food was good but it's such a shame that Marstons are failing to stock "Brains" beers. Even the old faithful, "Bitter" was not available.
J. P.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty. Service was on our terms, not pushing us to order xx
C. W.
Good quality tasty steaks. Can be very busy and there will be a wait. Worth waiting for though. Nice beer garden too
J. B.
Went for the evening menu of 3 courses for £11.50. The pub has a traditional feel, friendly staff, and only waited 7 minutes for our starter. The food here is amazing. Beautifully cooked and served with a smile. Will definitely come back here as the pub has a friendly feel and the beer is good.
L. F.
Nice food, nice pub, very welcoming and great for a cheap bite
N. B.
Lovely food by chef Sara. Thank you
D. W.
Very nice food customer service was great
H. T.
Lovely Place. We had Sunday Lunch which was Fabulous. Sadly though the people that arrived just after us couldn't have a Sunday Lunch as they had run out and it was only 5pm. Ty Nant some people like to have their Sunday Meal early evening. Cheers 🥂
T. B.
Attended a birthday get together. Friendly staff. Buffet food very good my only criticism/advice was food labeling would have been helpful. As vegetarians we were not able to have any sandwiches, but food was well presented.
S. R.
Reasonably priced menu, plenty of parking and a fair amount of outside space. There's a climbing frame which is great for the kids while you're waiting for your order.
Long wait to order, only one person taking food orders- she had to get the drinks for these orders meaning service was slow (there were 2 people taking drinks orders but less people waiting) the waiting staff seemed very disinterested, just left the plates on the table and walked away I had to go to the bar to ask for cutlery and sauce. The plates weren't collected after we'd finished- I took them back to the bar after a while as we were sat out and they were attracting wasps. Had to go back to the bar twice more to chase up our desserts.
The setting of the pub is good and food was fine just the service left a lot to be desired
c. l.
Great staff, nothing was too much trouble for them,we arrived early but they found us a table to sit at till the main party arrived, very pleasant and made the evening .Well done !!!
L. J.
Fantastic food we came to the pub for food and had pie chips gravy and fish and chips well worth the price as well we will be calling again soon
T. K.
Nice food, but some of the portions are a bit mean. No veg with the sausage and mash, and very little mash either. Don't be fooled by the apple and raspberry crumble. No crumble just a light dusting of granola. The rest of our food was ok though.
W.
Cosy pub atmosphere and friendly staff. Good choice of dishes from the standard menu and daily specials board which are reasonably priced. I had the fish and chips for lunch which was very nice. All in all, just what I would expect from a decent British pub.
I.
Under the new management which has taken over recently the food quality has very much improved and has justified the price that they're offered at which is very reasonable. The pub is now dog friendly too which is a great bonus as well being a brains pub which adds character. Overall very satisfied
a. m.
Regular visits for over a decade. Pleasant atmosphere, good food, beer and service. Ample parking.. One of the best..
D. W.
Lovely clean and pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff. Great food and service.
M.
Good food, great quick service, little play area for the kids. Right next to the garden centre.
T. R.
Lovely food, good people and nice to have a dog friendly environment 👍
Pricing was spot on as well, will definitely return.
P. T.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Very friendly bar staff and excellent customer service. Food is very reasonably priced and special boards offer great value with different offers Monday to Friday from 5pm offering various set menu's and daytime menu's from 12pm till 5pm. Choice of cask ales as well as lagers and beers. Well worth a visit.
v. b.
We enjoyed a family get together which enhanced by the fabulous buffet laid on .there really was something to suit everyone taste from chicken mini pies to anti past I salads a lovely cheese board chips potato salad & much more. Would definitely recommend.
A. M.
Lovely pub/restaurant, lots of parking and in a beautiful setting; they're dog-friendly, have outdoor seating, a children's play area and a very cozy interior. The food is really good, with a children's menu and a vegan/vegetarian menu, as well as a broad selection of meals from burgers to curries to meat and veg, all at reasonable prices.
S. J.
First vist today lovely food the service is great tracey our waitress was amazing very helpful efficient and friendly will definatly come again 😀
G. R.
Staff were very welcoming and worked so hard. A group of 16 people and they couldn't do enough for us. But there were other smaller groups and they had the same attention. All our meals were lovely and ranged from ribs, fish, lasagne, steaks to burgers. Burgers were amazing...a must have of you go. Lisa, the lady who dealt with our orders, was exceptionall but the staff in general were so good and we couldn't fault them. The Ty Nant has improved greatly since we last visited. Well done all of you. X
C. B.
Excellent service and the food was fantastic
N. W.
Lovely food, nice atmosphere, wooden beams, low ceilings and fires. The beer garden has a good play area for kids and it's really popular place to go. At 200 yrs old this is a lovely place to go and eat. One of my favourite places to relax with family. Highly recommended!
l. d.
Ok, not ideal for a large group
A. P.
Ty Nant Inn has to be about the best Brain's food pub in the district! Always busy, great quality food. Last time I asked the head chef was a true Thai cook, and all the curry meals are top-notch. Good beers, friendly staff, handy hidden venue. It is always a pleasure to eat there, and any visitors are always introduced to the pub. Good on them, keep the good work going!!!

LOVELY PLACE FOR A MEAL - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Stopped off to try the vegan menu for lunch. Plenty of interesting choices: nice to see some variety with proper vegetable dishes & not just 'fake meat' burgers, which seem to be in fashion currently.
The daytime set menu (1 course £6.50, 2 courses £8.99 // Available 12pm - 5pm, Monday - Saturday) only had a salad as the vegan option (Evening one - 2 courses £9.99, 3 courses £12.50 // Available from 5pm daily - had a curry), so we ordered a la carte from the full Vegan Menu & picked items that weren't in those deals. There seemed to be lots of options on all the different menus they offer.
Due to the price (£8!), we shared the spicy jackfruit nachos (tortilla chips topped with vegan cheese, spicy pulled jackfruit, tomato salsa, sweetcorn and coriander) for starter, which was a decent size more suitable for a sharing plate than single starter, so maybe they should offer two sizes. It was very tasty (though the jackfruit wasn't shredded & left in lumps - we explained, so hopefully they will know to do this in future to make it nicer!).
For mains, we both had the mixed vegetable bake (puy lentils and mixed vegetables, in a vegan gravy, topped with bubble and squeak potato cakes, served with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables). This which was absolutely gorgeous - a hearty, warming bake, packed with flavour & the vegetables freshly-steamed to perfection. Quite possibly one of the nicest meals we've both had in a long time!
We didn't have room for dessert but the vegan options were less unusual - a fruit tart or sorbet - but presumably equally tasty.
The staff were all very friendly & efficient. Nice, pretty pub with outside seating & plenty of parking.
We'd definitely recommend it & certainly look forward to visiting again to try more of the delicious food.

Yet another great night at the ty nant , service was excellent , Alex was on top form as she was buzzing around the pub / restaurant making sure everyone was happy ..always checking up on us to see if we needed anything ( drinks etc ) , drinks was great , food was great , great atmosphere and the kids was happy ( bonus ) .
Well done again to Alex and team ..
D. M.
A great traditional pub! A great atmosphere and good drinks/food. Love the Sunday quiz night as it is good fun and keeps you sharp. The service is fabulous and staff are nice. Would recommend
L. O.
Nice pub homely on main road opposite Pughs Garden centre. Food good varied menu. Offers available after a certain time of 5pm. Lots of parking. In summer an excellent outside space for kids and people wanting to eat outside!
L. C.
Amazing food and very friendly staff. It was a great experience. Will definitely return.
H. B.
Lovely food as always, friendly staff. But very slow service though. Excellent covid measures!. Would definitely come back.
J. “. P.
Great pub. One of the best steak and ale pies (when it's on the menu) you will ever have. Nice sunday lunch. Need to bring back more special curry's. Service sometimes slow, but normal for a brains pub
M. H.
This was my first time at Ty nant,it was a lively place with all ages from babies to the elderly, the meals were lovely and the wait wasn't too long, eased by a glass of wine 🍷, the staff kept asking of there was anything they could get us, were we happy with the meal? So over all very pleasant even though they were busy. Will visit again
N. M.
Excellent food, cooked to perfection! Definitely recommend
L.
Good food, if limited - only a choice of four mains - but plenty of it. Clean, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices; the food was tasty and well prepared/presented. The service was quick and friendly. Nice place, nice food. Five stars.
R. J.
Oldie type of place with a fireplace in the one area of the pub. Good food. Staff friendly and a good atmosphere. Parking; some spaces on the flat - other spaces up a slop then onto another flat area; Walking from this part of the car park can be difficult for those with walking issues. Leading into the pub, the paving slabs are uneven. Sometime ago, I tripped over them. I reported this to the staff; however at the time of writing this, nothing been done to resolve the uneven slabs. Entrance might be difficult for those in a wheelchair/using a pram. Outside tables and chairs. Play area for the kids but keep an eye on the little ones as there's a main road next to the play area. Even though there are some issues, as mentioned above, this is one of two places we often return to for food. Yes, we have tried many other places.
J. P.
Nice food, quick friendly service and ideally located opposite Pugh's.
This place is very busy, so be prepared for a small wait. They have a range of foods for everyone, and the kids menu is good too. Would recommend, definitely worth a trip.

Loved it. Very well organised , tasty hot food. Slightly smaller menu but that's only to be expected.
S. B.
Food was good. Staff were really friendly.
J. B.
Good food and competitively priced drinks.Nice location with lots of outdoor seating and a children's play area.
J. S.
Really good Sunday lunch, both traditional snd extensive menu available. Good, friendly, quick service on a very busy Sunday lunchtime.
Good value for money, with nice beer garden and play area for children.
C. A.
Lack of hospitality. Whilst nobody was rude, there was a lack of friendliness and we felt pressurised to finish our meals and leave. It was a very busy Sunday lunchtime but not a special occasion so I would've expected a better service. First and last visit sadly.
K. M.
Used to be a regular on our pub lunch radar and the foods definitely changed for the worst since our last visit, although the customer service was still excellent and a discount awarded for what was probably an off day for the chef. Excellent play time for the children in the play area especially the slide , dropped from 5 stars to a 4 though but defo still worth a visit
C. M.
Special thank you to Alex for going above and beyond for my 4 year old who trapped his finger in the toilet door. She was great, the food was lovely too. Would highly recommend this place, all of the staff were amazing. Thanks again Alex 😘
G. C.
Great food and value for money 👍
A. S.
Always good food here and consistent service
K. C.
Really good service and very accommodating. We were served by Anthony who was really helpful as.my mam has coaliac so has to eat a special diet. 2 metre distance applied indoors and out.recommend
M. H.
I went to the ty nant as it was my birthday. I fancied a burger. Well! It was amazing tasty tender and lots of fillings to go with it. The chips were lovely and fresh and the coleslaw was yummy. I have been visiting the ty nant for many years and i usually have a steak with the works but this time fancied a burger. I most definitely will order another one. I could not finish the meal as the burger was so filling and my husband who has a healthy appetite could not clear his plate either.
My only grievance is the price for two soft drinks. For two diet cokes and it was two halves was £4.20 , which i feel is a bit pricey. But overall a lovely meal. Well done and thankyou. Michelle Hayes. ***
A. W.
Nice pub; great for families but lacks a selection of guest beers, which let's it down if you like a good real ale. Unfortunately they do not sell Guinness either. Food is good though.
B. (.
Great pub and restaurant. Good clientele (i.e. no scum). Food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. The staff are great and always helpful. Children are welcome and they also have a playground for the kids outside
P. M.
I love this place. Delicious food always cooked perfect. Staff very friendly. They don't rush you out. Very relaxing. Only down side no disabled toilets.
a. p.
Amazing food and great customer service! We didn't wait long for our food. And the sundae was lush. Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back to try more meals
J. B.
With covid restrictions in place it was abit strange but the staff were very helpful even though the service was abit slow due to only one chef working in the kitchen nobody seemed to mind everyone was just grateful to be out and sampling some normality
A. M.
Very nice food. Scampi was juicy and tasty. We went there 12 of us. No one left any food on the dishes. Friendly staff and fast serving the food. We pre order the food in advance which helps.
P. P.
Enjoyed it here. Feels like a country pub once inside. Large beer garden. Brain's pub so good range of beers to choose from. Food is standard pub grub, nothing special but inexpensive. Large car park. Gets very busy if the weather is nice.
G. B.
great Sunday lunch and drinks...
R. S.
Popped in for some food and a drink on Tuesday. Beer good food good except for the peas which were a bit overcooked.
J. M.
Nice food but not enough chips they need to up their game and give better value for money
G. C.
The usual good selection of beers that you'd expect from a Brains chain pub and a pub food menu to suit most needs. We were able to get a roast dinner on Sunday evening which a couple of other places locally werent doing, so there were two satisfied customers 🍻😃
S. M.
Stopped to have a drink whilst heading home, I stayed in the garden as we had a dog with us while other half went in to get the drinks , they said it was very nice inside and the meal menu looked okay. So I think another trip out to sample the food as well
W. J.
Exc meal. Very quiet. Service and food of highest quality. Will return soon.
A. J.
A small family group of us ate at the Ty Nant on Monday evening.
We were served at the bar and then again at our table, for dessert, by Paige who was patient, accommodating and extremely friendly and is in my opinion an asset to the business. There was a guy clearing away glasses and cleaning down the tables who I later found out was the manager, so fair play to you Mihai.
The food was great and overall the experience was more than satisfactory so don't change a thing guys.......well actually there is one small thing you could do to improve and that is getting panna cotta back on the menu!!!
Well done all and thank you for a wonderful evening :)
P. G.
Great Brain's pub, come on Brain's keep these pub's going. Really friendly staff 10/10
N. G.
Really nice food not processed rubbish. Went at 4 after Sunday lunch rush and were served straight away and got our food very quickly. Friendly polite and helpful staff. We ate in the garden as it was nice weatger.
M. N. (.
The Ty Nant (House near the Brook) is a refreshing change from so many pubs catering only for the young crowd, clear of screens, and jukeboxes, enjoyable in the evening for a drink or a meal. During the daylight hours unpretentious pub food is the order of the day. On sunny days (Remember them?) 😉 outside tables allow you to dine alfresco, with a children's play area nicely tucked away from many tables, good planing there!
A. F.
Been coming back and forth to the Tynant for many years. My children, my grandchildren, my friends. Always lively busy place and the quiz night great fun too. Does get packed so go early. Nice food good kids play area and plenty of tables outside to dine Al Fresco. Took my granddaughter for Sunday lunch for about 12.30 and was tbe best roast shes ever had eating out and very reasonable price of £5. Definitely worth a visit.
K. W.
lovely service and food will be returning
B. P.
The place looks nice the staff were friendly ish ...but the food was below average..
Tired to complain but got feed of waiting and left ...
K. L.
Really great management and staff . Good food as well
d. o.
Brains Gastro pub. Any food prepared off site and reheated in their ovens is fine, but I've only had disappointing experience with food that needs to be prepared on site. Specifically their Sunday Roasts. Over cooked meat, and combination of under and over cooked veg'. This is definitely a place to play it safe, order drinks that come in bottles and just need pouring into a glass, and food that can be cooked in a microwave.
S. S.
Always been a friendly pub and popular with a large circle of people.
Although sometimes you have have a short wait it's because the food is individually cooked to order.
If you require fast food, then try a drive though.
P. S.
The food was very good but the service was terrible. We waited for almost an hour before our meals were served and that was after making enquiries. Not enough staff to cope with a busy lunchtime. Very disappointed.
Y. S.
Great food, wonderful service and safe play area for children.
V. R.
Lovely food and friendly staff. Got quite busy at lunchtime so advisable to go early. A bit of a wait for food but really nice when it did arrive.
C. A. W.
Had a lovely reasonably priced lunch with family.
B. j.
Amazing food, friendly staff and atmosphere will go above and beyond.
J. B.
In regards to its atmosphere, this place is lovely. It has a cozy feel and it's around the corner from castell coch. Only 10-15 mins from the city centre too.
Although the food is not as good as it was when I previously visited 3 years ago.
I had Sunday lunch with my mum and it was rather disappointing. If I want to eat frozen vegetables I will go for a shop to Iceland ( you will never see me in Iceland). I think the only thing on the plate that was okay was the gravy.
Although it's not all doom and gloom. The ice cream that they buy in is spectacular.
K.
Was good to return to the ty nant ,food was good pub food even though the menu had been reduced we all enjoyed it .We felt very safe with tables and chairs cleaned after every table of guests .Nice to see familiar faces there, well done to the management you have done a very good job
S. L.
Nice food and nice atmosphere down memory lane where my family were born 😄😄
M. E.
Food was very good value for money, large portions and the menu offered a lot to choose from.
The best thing about the visit by far was the exceptional service we received by staff. Would definitely recommend this place and will be going again.
-. D.
Pros: welcoming and friendly pub, food isn't absolutely amazing, it's a pub at the end of the day.. I'd personally say average quality...
Waitress on Saturday night was absolutely lovely and really made an effort to accommodate...
Cons: do not make clear that once the menu has been given and your seated, you need to go back from the restaurant, back onto the pub area where you need to order food over the counter.. Sat for nearly an hour before I went to the counter and asked if they stopped serving food with a harsh
'order from here'...
Was actually stunned as we were waiting like idiots for an hour before we went up....
During this time of ordering, statues /starters and mains all came out the same time and withing 10 mins, had someone spraying strong disinfectant on the table exactly 2 metres away, clearing up the table, slamming down the disenfectant bottle, storming off and making a point that they're cleaning / closing up...
If you'd have said to order food at the bar, we would have come, eaten and left happily...
Instead we felt obliged to leave as soon as our food arrived and asked a waitress who was absolutely lovely if she could wrap up our main meal to take home... Which she did!
That's the only reason I haven't given 1 star from 5.
Y. M.
Enjoyed our food and moved to a different table so waitress was ready helpful
A. K.
Great traditional pub.. Lovely food and fab service from a guy called Antony
C. J. L.
Worth seeking out now management has changed since February 2020. Food excellent and Covid measures good. Service could be a bit more attentive but definitely going back.
G. H.
Lovely friendly staff, very accommodating. Covid compliant but still welcoming and able to relax. Good food as always ☺️
D. R.
Lovely food, and a nice atmosphere. Always busy, which is a good sign I guess. Plenty of parking. Queue for food ordering always long though. Maybe sort another till instead of having just the one.
E. D.
Starter Share bread no caramelised onions. Main chips cooked in dirty fat/oil onion rings greasy cooked in same fat taveners chicken lovely
N. H.
Good service and lovely food.
G. P.
Good food, lovely Manager, friendly staff
r. s.
Nice staff, nice meal 👌nice place and overall a good place to enjoy a drink and meet up in a nice environment
J. E.
Beautiful meal in lovely surroundings ! Thank you !
J. W.
lovely food great quick service thank you
K. W.
Good value pub meals and a pleasant beer garden. You can bring your dogs. Close to Pughs garden centre and shopping centre. There is a nice children's play area too.
t. l.
Lovely pub ! Food good they do a lunch time menu, but they dont adverise this at tables, therefore having ordered main eals from table menu got bar then noticethe lunch time menu ! Otherwise got parking but no allocayed disable slots .
K. W.
It was very busy when we arrived and we were a party of 14.
I was impressed that the food came out to us hot and quite quickly.
The service was exceptional.
S. E.
A nice quiet pub. Full of people but not overcrowded. Good food. The service was ok but not out of way. The waitress made me walk twice to my table cuz I couldn't find the number. Then she forgot my customisation and I had to wait for replacement.
G. “. G. S.
Riding the wave of modernity and innovation. 6 non meat options! The pub of the future.
T. K.
food ok, suroundings pleasant, nice beer garden although they do need to rethink the size of the umbrellas, ( too small) in this heat. All in all, a nice pub with edible food.
B. S.
The Tynant is getting a bit expensive for a beer these days. Pretty standard pub food. Nice atmosphere in the pub with plenty of locals. Lots of parking in the car park around the back of the pub and a nice lawn and beer garden for the summertime.
K. L.
Food excellent atmosphere very good couldn't fault it, have been several times and will go again
C. S.
Lovely pub restaurant had 'Chicken Tikka Masala' good flavour fresh taste, needed mango chutney or Raita (yog dip) bit dry.Busy Saturday evening but great service will visit again.
S. J.
Good service, good choice of meals, relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend.
J. H.
All really friendly staff. Very clean and food always good. Only downside is it's quite expensive for both food and drinks. I'm guessing this is because there aren't many other pubs in the area.
S. L.
Lovely day out, food was very good and the servers were friendly.
P. R.
Nice place, lots of spaces.
Few vegan choices
S. S.
Nice Sunday lunch. Good choice. Could have been hotter but tasty. Great service. Very busy so do book.
J. M.
The food is always hot and fresh. Fast service, friendly staff. Good value . Will go back again. Loved it.x
d. t.
They do a fine quiz night here on a Wednesday. It gets very busy though, so i'd advise booking a table. Curry and a pint for £6. Curries are good.
C. O.
Absolutely outstanding went there for a Sunday lunch for my birthday , food was beautiful hot and tasty, the staff were more than pleasant couldn’t do enough
P. E.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Menu was ok, no more to say!!
J. J.
Really lovely venue and food, good atmosphere and roomy only one downfall, and a great one at that! The price of the soft drinks are extortionate!!!
The same price of a pint of draught cola is more than a price of the cheapest pint of draught lager! Nearly £3.50 for watered cordial. Its not even bottle or cans of branded coke/pepsi to excuse the cost.
Even squash made with water is very expensive.
This is very insulting to drivers and non-alcohol drinkers and does nothing to promote drink-driving campaigns.
This really does over-shadow the otherwise nice pub.
R. B.
Amazing Gammon. Fab since I last come over a year ago. Food came real fast. Yum Yum.
R. S.
It's a very big and popular pub, with an extensive menu, the food's pretty good and reasonably priced.I visit most weeks and the service is consistently good - which given the covers they get through, is impressive.
S. C.
Nice lunch and great service. Inviting pub with a friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
K. R.
Lovely oldy worldappemaly pub and the food is really good, plenty of room inside and out, there was just one little blip which I'm sure doesn't happen very often but the ladies toilets were out of order because the biulders were in there so I had to leave to use loo elsewhere
M. C.
Curry night! Was very busy as usual on the Wednesday night, or what I like to call "Curry and a pint and a pub quiz night". Food has always been wonderful , and the staff are always cheery!
M. C.
Great food on the set evening menu. Staff were very friendly. Large car park that can get full rather quickly.
K. D.
Love it here. Beautiful renovated garden area, so beautiful in the evening to sit out and relax
P. B.
Quaint pub with beer garden. We only had a drink but they do sell meals. Lovely and clean. Enjoyed our visit
S. K.
Beautiful food, welcoming staff and ambience. Totally worth your money spent. Highly recommended as a family pub!
W.
Fabulous location, staff are very friendly, food is lovely!! Always look forward to visiting, let's hope we have a good summer🌞
B. A.
The 'outdoor only' facility has been very well addressed, and is popular, so pre booking is essential
D. B.
Sunday Roast lunch was fantastic. Certainly recommend Ty Nant and will definately be going there more often. Staff friendly and efficient. Great
C. J.
Always has been a good place to go for food. No change to this, service and food excellent. Go and support if!
H. B.
Sunday Lunch 3 meat platter was amazing so much meat and vegetables
A. S.
Ok food, very slow service on busy days. Make sure you book a table in the evening as it's occasionally really busy. If it's sunny you may not get a table outside on a Friday or weekend.
e. W.
Ok greater not very good told me no table's inside lovely girl gave me a table . Not as good as it was .
G. D.
Really lovely pub with nice food and friendly staff.
E. N.
A nice place for a pub meal or sunday lunch. Have been here a number of times and always happy with the service.
B. M.

L. M.
Good service, nice food, reasonably priced.

Very good pub and decent price food. Decided to go for food here when it was snowing as this was the only place that decided to stay open. Will be visiting again.
T. R.
Five stars!
Very well organized and safe
Top food
Super staff
Really recommended
D. G.
Slow , very slow.
Staff wondering around in a daze, only 1 person serving at the bar, food was fairly average.
Nothing screaming to me to come back again
P. W.
My family and I enjoyed a tasty dinner and trivia for charity. What a wonderful time we had! We definitely will be back!
A. C.
Excellent pub and staff. Had the Roast Beef dinner. Only complaint was the beef was a bit dry...
D. W.
Lovely food very helpful staff spot on for safe spacing
L. S.
Nice food, friendly staff, gets very busy so either go early or book a table
l. l.
A lovely pub with lots of character, and clean the food is tasty ordered the steak with a jacket potato, it was cooked well, only thing it lacked was presantion, I think that there was supposed to be some salad to garnish but it was just a very tiny bit of lettuce it was pointless, overall this is still a lovely pub and it has a lovely atmosphere.
L. C.
Good good lovely staff bar one one that let it down but would still recommend. Chicken stack burger was huge and delicious
M. R.
Meals are a good sized portion and a reasonable price. Make sure your meals turn up at the same time - ours didn't, a ten minute delay !
M. T.
Nice pub with a garden area and outside tables. Typical pub grub. Bit disappointed with a dry burger and chips. Maybe that was to make me drink more 🤔
H. L.
Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
Sent from my regular
C. W.
Food was very good, good friendly staff and atmosphere.
N. O.
Service was quite disorganised, only one person taking food and drinks orders, so a big queue. Food did arrive quickly, but was very average.
M. F.
Lovely staff and Great Food..... took my Step Daughter and toddler for Lunch recently and will visit again soon.
H. D.
Anthony was our server tonight, brilliant attentive service and was so polite. Couldn't ask anymore ❤️

Good value for money food in pleasant surroundings. The menu choices do seem to be more limited these days though unless you're a vegi.
M. C.

M. d. V.
Lovely cosy pub/resturant. Visited here for a meal after seeing Santa at Pugh's garden centre and weren't disappointed.
S. A.
An average 'pub grub' pub.
M. B.
I’ve had food few times in the past month with my family, and I can say we never been disappointed. Well done Ty Nant
N. C.
A great place for wholesome pub grub and decent beers. Wednesday's 'curry and a pint' night is particularly good with a pub quiz afterwards.
J. P.
I really enjoyed the food. Just disappointed they took the pork chops in maple glaze off. But over all brill place to go
T. B.
Friendly staff who dont mind a laugh.thought menu prices were bit high to start but when food arrived was really nice and lots of it.highly recommended
H. K.
Friendly and welcoming pub, very geared towards food. Lots of comfortable seating and a great range of drinks
L. W.
Lovely food .. play area .. but too many kids running around for my liking .. but that's the parents fault ..not the restaurant.
R. B.
Really nice pub with good beers and food. Service can be a little slow when busy but overall great service.
M. D. G.
Nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Staff very friendly food is out of this world only downfall play area outside is a bit small but would definitely recommend this place

Great meeting place just off A470 good choice of food pleasant staff can be an irritation as food is ordered at a different point but drinks can be ordered at same food point if that makes sense I recommend the Rev James
W. A.
Lovely food and drink, so good to be back 🍺🍺
D. C.
Good and service good food only 2 taking orders and serving drinks at same time took longer ordering than wait for the meal
P. A.
Nice Pub
M. E.
Lovely place, food good and staff very pleasant. 1st time visit will definitely return.
S.
It's an okay place to have lunch but it's right next to a busy road so not that nice sitting outside the front as you have to contend with cars going by every few seconds. Went for a "light lunch" which was humongous and the opposite of light
c. p.
Excellent service. .food good. .
Christmas decorations were lovely. .android a cosy atmosphere
B. P.
Not too shabby, nice warm environment. Not a great deal of choice for vegetarians or vegans. Good to have a children's play area too.

Lovely pub haven't tried the food yet toilets smell lovely but the smell is too strong😂
C. R.
Lunch today was excellent.. Served by Amy, Sarah and Liam... He makes the best capachino!!!
C. “. u. U.
Only complaint, when you ask for your steak medium to well done you don't expect the tomato that came on the plate to be crimated to the point of unrecognisable untill pealed
J. M.
Best fish, chips and mushy peas ever !
C. M.
Good traditional pub menu. Good portions. Great value mid week deals
J. P.

Good family pub, food good, unfortunately spoiled by feral kids who's parents should take responsibility for them. Shame as it's not the Ty Nants fault.
J. C.
