J. P.Friendly staff but not impressed with the food. Pulled pork burger was a beef burger with a bit of pulled pork, rare to medium steak was way over cooked. Food was all very quick to arrive which was very odd. Pricy too.
Tables were crammed in - if it had been busy we would have been very close to those next to us. Too much choice on menu which raises concerns about how freshly cooked the food was. Would suggest reducing menu options and number of tables. Felt a bit like 1988.
K. D.My wife and I had a meal on Wednesday 25 May even though they where busy we were served quite quickly we had the set menu for the day and to honest couldn’t fault it.
As we were going out with friends on Saturday we booked a table for 4 people I informed the waiter my wife is disabled and she would be using a small mobility scooter or her wheelchair. On Saturday after parking the car I went ahead and asked about disabled entrance (“They don’t have one”) which I found strange because I thought it was now law. We had a nice meals , but “ in my opinion the steak was expensive “ our meals that we decide to have were very nice and worth the cost. I would go again if the disabled entrance was sorted out even if just a mobile ramp. My wife wheelchair ie electric

D.As a pub restaurant I was impressed by the range of on menu and various specials available. And service was decent and attentive sat in rear restaurant area.
I made a mistake in not going for Venison steak special and other's starters were all impressive and good portion sizes.
Of the deserts the cheese board was huge for 1 person and good value at same £4.50 as other desserts.
I however had (slightly disappointing) pulled pork and chorizo topped burger + then warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
Overall would give it a 'good' 4/5 stars, but might have made it to 5/5 if I'd had the venison steak that other person in our group had.

Still get flashbacks to being turned away regularly from the side door at 16 by a man in fingerless gloves but that was *ahem* years ago

Has had a well regarded restaurant section for a number of years now which pumps out lovely pub grub time and again!

P. C.Had a family meal here, staff were very good, took the time with the children and we never felt rushed. Only downside was missing the homemade onion rings these have been replaced with small ones that tend to be bought in, bring back the large crispy rings much better. I'd order a side of those but not the ones I had.
All in all we will come back, great family pub, good food and hospitality.

This is not a typical pub restaurant where you order food and it gets brought out.
They have waiters and waitresses and it's like being in a high street restaurant.

C. J.Went for Xmas dinner on Wednesday evening. Had one of the best experience ever for a meal. Had a 2 course meal, had all the trimmings for Xmas meal. Everything was nice and fresh. Not the biggest, still it was delicious. The staff were very friendly, whole experience was just amazing.

J. A.A lovely authentic pub atmosphere, I'd imagine it's a great place to go for a pint with some friends. However, the food is not great, not bad at all... but not great. The chips came in what seemed to be a metal candle holder with grease proof paper inside. This made the chips soggy and not very enjoyable. The burger I had was packed with melted Welsh cheddar (which was lovely) but maybe a little too much. I'll be tasting cheddar for days! There was also no sauce in the burger which resulted in it being quite dry. There was a slice of pineapple underneath the cheese which, in my opinion, was a little strange and made the whole burger taste a bit odd. I don't think the flavours went together. Couldn't remove it if you wanted to, it was covered in melted cheese, some people would hate not to have the option of taking the pineapple out. (Also I don't think it mentioned on the menu that there was pineapple in the burger!)
Service was slow and our orders for main and dessert came out at different times. All my family had finished their desserts by the time mine came out! (And mine was the simplest. Just three scoops of ice cream in a bowl!)
Overall, a great place for a drink, but (from my experience) not a dish.
D. J.Have eaten there quite a few times over the past couple of months. Since the restaurant has been taken over by the former people at the Black Cock Inn, food is is now excellent. Service is excellent with the staff always willing to help. The pub itself has an excellent mix of people and great beers.

The decor is a bit tired but that adds top the atmosphere. They have bands on a Friday night, depending on who's playing will effect the customers, some performers seem to bring their entourage who can be rough and ready

N. G.O.K. so Mike and Debbie are friends but Rockys is not only one of my favourite restaurants it is for a whole load of other people as the numbers dining every night testify. The menu is varied and the food is freshly cooked. The prices are competitive especially the early bird deals, In addition the pub serves Cask Marque ales up to the very highest CAMRA standards.
I would be more than a little surprised if the dining experience is not one you would want to repeat.
