We had a lovely time here this evening, for my Mother's 91st Birthday 🎈.Being Wednesday 3 of us went for the Curry night menu, whilst 2 others went off the ala carte. Pulled pork burger and Seabass. The staff are all friendly, and looked after us extremely well. The food was very good. I would recommend a visit and wouldn't hesitate going again.

Our son started work in the kitchen a couple of weeks ago, we had a couple of hours spare in between our car being serviced and an appointment to have new tyres fitted so popped over for some lunch. The pub is nicely decorated, the gardens are spacious, very aesthetic and well laid out. We found the staff friendly and helpful and the food we had ranging from a sandwich to jacket potato to the fish and chips was really tasty and well cooked as well as being nicely presented. Highly recommended and we will return soon when the weather is a little cooler to try a Sunday roast.

I have always enjoyed going to the Anchor Inn but this is the first time I have been since new management and refurbishment, I was truly amazed at the changes that have been made, outdoor seating, play area for children, dog friendly and it still has that lovely homely feeling. The food was first class, served by a very pleasant member of staff as we're all the staff, well to be seen it is popular as there was quite a number of people there, I went with two friends who had not been before and they were really impressed. Thank you all for a lovely day

Customer service excellent. My son had a lovely pizza which he had eaten all of it. My family had roast dinners my beef didn't seem fresh like a boil in bag beef vegetables where steamed but not for long still undercooked same with my family members. Puddings were OK nothing special like reheated apple crumble same with sticky toffee pudding. The pud surroundings were nice nice and warm nice to see locals there instead of, tourists. All in all it was a present experience. Oh there was plenty to choose from the menu. I will be gojng again for sure but for a roast I might give it a miss. Thank you guys for the excellent customer service. And my son really like the pizza!!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Anchor yesterday. The pub was very busy, but the staff were still all smiling. The food came without any great delay and was lovely, and hot, on a rather frosty day. A nice relaxing meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary, turned out to be a great choice for us.

My husband and I went to the Anchor for breakfast today, having been there before for dinner. It was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. We will definitely be returning in the near future. I could not fault the food or the service given by our waitress, Phoebe, who gave us a very warm welcome.

Has potential, and the food is okay, but the service is in need of an upgrade- the basics really need to be focused on. “Wait to be seated”….. an empty pub, and waiting a good time before giving up and going to find someone to seat us at our booked table. Orders say “toast with butter”, we had to go and find butter. Ordered two cappuccino’s- 25 minutes later we were still waiting, so gave up, paid the bill and left.

We had such a good lunch on Saturday sitting in the lovely outside area that we returned on Sunday and had a good Sunday lunch. Both the food and the friendliness of the staff was first class. Will definitely be back.

Lovely venue with enthusiastic staff who attend to you so diligently. The conservatory extension was a lovely place for a group of 20 of us to share lunch together. It was spacious, light and warm.

Had leaflets through door so thought we would give it a try, ordered fish pie good size portion plenty of white fish, potato and cheese top but no taste at all. My wife ordered chicken burger which looked like a piece of supermarket frozen portion and the onion traybake served with it was so hard it was impossible to cut or eat. Gents toilet was thick with dust and cobwebs.

A nice country pub/restaurant with a warm feeling. The food was well presented and well cooked. The food we ordered was the Enchiladas with side salad and chips, and Southern fried chicken burger also served with chips and coleslaw, tasted really nice. The only negative I would say is that they were quite busy but only had two waitresses. I think this is a place that need booking from Friday and weekends.

Five of us have just had the most amazing meals at The Anchor which has recently been refurbished. It has a lovely homely atmosphere when you step inside. The staff are very attentive particularly Karl the manager. The food is virtually all home made, well presented and delicious. Will definitely book here again.

Went with two other pals for a lunch time meal and we all agreed it was fantastic, lovely home cooked food with hot food and plates. The choice was amazing, usual comfort food plus 4 or five seafood dishes. Was amazed how few were in for lunch but once the word is out I am sure it won't stay like this long. So nice to be able to make a positive review of this pub after the last few weeks of having cold plates, booking being lost, food order being lost, not getting the drinks we ordered at other local places. This is firmly on the top of our list of pubs to come back to.

Good little quaint pub but overpriced. Ordered 3 ciders and a bowl of chips (which were very crispy but was like a kids portion), came to nearly £20. I get these are tough times but £3.50 is a lot for a handful of chips.

We arrived with our two dogs and received a very warm welcome. This is a charming old pub that was cosy and characterful. The furniture looked new and the decor has been refreshed recently. We were offered water and dog biscuits as part of our welcome. There is a good selection of beer, including three real ales, the best of which was from Ridleys, an excellent local brewer. The local people were friendly, and we enjoyed a lovely relaxing afternoon. We will be going back to try the food soon.

We visited the anchor Inn this afternoon for our lunch ,We were shown to a table ,Our drinks order was taken once we were seated,The menu looked very nice ,We all ordered are food,The food was very nice We all enjoyed what we'd chosen,After our lunch we ordered dessert Which my husband enjoyed,sticky toffee pudding and custard which he thoroughly enjoyed,We went outside as their was a slide for our granddaughter to play on ,We'll definitely be coming back ,The service was very good 👍

Great food and atmosphere Played pool afterwards but it was marred by a group of four who refused to move a little when we played so was very hard to take shots. if the pool table was moved 50cm closer to the back bar there would have been plenty of room and we wouldn't have felt so awkward keep asking the sitting drinkers to move. An easy fix please move it so everyone can enjoy there evening

Under new management. Stuck on a Sunday without a reservation and with usual Dedham haunts all full we revisited this Stratford pub. Glad we did. Hearty, wholesome pub grub with a bit of sophistication. Soup and bread were first class. We'd definitely go again.
