We had a very warm welcome from Damian and his team of wonderful people. The food was superb and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend going to this lovely relaxing pub restaurant for one of the best experiences you could have with dining out. Date of visit: 28th April 2022

When we were living in Colchester, we used to to the Yew tree often and liked the delicious pub food and the atmosphere. That is why we tried the same place in our recent visit to the colchester this time too. However, it was a disappointment. Our orders arrived an hour later,after having to enquire after them. Mash was cold, gravy was too runny. Manager apologised and offered us desert on the house. It was a good gesture however, it did not fix the real problem of having our main courses being cold and not as good as before. I may think twice to go there again...

Drove past looked really nice, went back for dinner. Very good young man behind the bar who was very helpful. For some reason starter and main course arrived at the same time and some vegetables never arrived but would still go back.

I had lunch at the Yew Tree today, with a group of friends, from the University of the Third Age, look them up...the best group of people, the food was so pleasing to the eye....and so delicious. I had the king prawn starter, followed by ice cream, choices were great, homemade cookie biscuit AND a sweet little jug of salted caramel sauce....never seen that anywhere before. I’m an ice cream addict!! The service was the best, staff were very welcoming and so nice, I intend taking family back there. Many thanks Maureen

Arriving there seemed plenty of parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is nit huge and the food produced seemed good. I had the mushroom Wellington which was full of flavour but cooled quickly which was disappointing. There was only one other disappointment and that was the coffees ordered at the end of the meal. One of us ordered the coffee and cake option. Out came the cake 5 minutes after ordering. 15 minutes later we had to ask for the coffees that had been ordered. Our waitress was Tina and she was very obviously rushed off her feet. Would I go back? Yes.

Really liked this pub. Food was delicious, they have quite a few vegan options and a nice selection of beers and IPAs. The outside area looks really lovely in summer. The best thing about it was definitely the staff. Very friendly and professional and certainly made our lunch for 10 people a lovely experience by being very accommodating and attentive.

Fantastic food and excellent staff. Damian was very welcoming and has provided excellent service. Great food and very cozy atmosphere. Discovered this place a few months ago and keep coming back for more! Definitely recommend 👌
