Lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. The food was fine, but pretty standard for pub food. Burger could've been a bit more juicy and needed a tad more burger sauce. The cauliflower wings were great though!

Wow guys really great job Came here for lunch With the family Lots of things for the kids to do. There is a small park outside and a play area inside too. Friendly staff which always helps and the guy who was working got a high chair for us. Really nice I’d say 1/20 places do that for us. But I really appreciate it! The food was ready in about 10 mins. Probs the fastest pub service I’ve ever had. Wasn’t massive portions but deffo quality over quantity. The food was very tasty and fresh. Kids ate well so that’s another good sign of good food Really nice place and great food Would deffo come here again. Top marks guys. Keep this up !!

Came here for my Dads birthday lunch. Ordered and booked a table and greeted and shown to a table of our choice (with window seats as well). Food and drinks were delicious, plus were ordered and received in a swift and friendly manner. Went there today as always on a Monday and had sirloin steak for main. It was delicious, beautifully cooked exactly how I asked for it - melted in the mouth. Curtis the chef there is brilliant always cooks to perfection. We go there regularly and all the staff there are great especially Ian, Debs and Callum make you feel very welcome and always make our time there very enjoyable. Look forward very much to our next visit

We booked a table for 1.15, got there early, no problem, also was able to take dogs in with us which was great. Friendly polite staff, the problem started at the ordering, we are vegans and ordered cauliflower wings, tasty, nachos with lentil chilly, was brought just nachos no lentil chilli then the correct one was brought so had 2 .... ordered 2 vegan curry but was brought the lentil chilly. we ate what we had but queried this at the bar on leaving, no one seemed to take responsibility for the mix up. the girl that took the order at the bar didn't seem to know what was what so maybe a little more training on the ordering . In hind sight we should have ordered at the table via our phone but not everyone can do that.

Not been here before but my lad and I fancied something different to our usual. Made a reservation online, which was quick and easy with confirmation received via email and text. Table booked for 12noon today and we were one of the first there. Shown to our table and as it wasn't busy yet we were able to get our food and drink order in first. The meals arrived promptly and looked appetising. The staff waited until we had nearly finished before checking if all was OK, which is good in my opinion, and the food tasted as good as it looked. My lad had the classic chicken burger and a side of onion rings whilst I opted for Hunters Chicken. With 2 large cokes it came to a little over £27. I feel this is great value for the food and service we received. Will definitely visit again.

Closed for some unknown reason. Reason given by management about travellers causing trouble, makes sense as we saw their caravans leaving the area. Normally the pub is pretty good, friendly staff and good beer selection.

If you're looking for a chid-friendly environment then this is the best option for you. - There are free parking areas all around. - There are 2 seating areas - inside and outside, however, the seating space outside can be limited especially when the whether us good. - It's a child-friendly relaxing place. There is a little playground for kids at the outside seating section (which is a good + as parents/guardians can have a good time while monitoring their kids), however, for a couple's outing here you best sitting inside if you will mind kids running around. - The prices of drinks and food are reasonable, ex: cocktails are £3.99 each or £8.99 for 2, a large shared portion of Nacho with BBQ Jackfruit and cheese is £9.99.

Great local pub for eats and drinks. Their menu has a wide range of food, including a very good choice of vegetarian and vegan meals. There is also a good choice of beers available to suit all tastes. There are quite a few tables here but it would be wise to book up if you intend to try this pub for a meal. By the way, you need to know this . . . the prices are VERY reasonable! The staff at The Penny Farthing are thoughtful, kind and very considerate. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Only negative was that the 2 ladies loo door was not lockable. Good job I wasn't desperate! Reported to staff who I later found out was the manager, who said after inspection, that the door had dropped and get would get it fixed. Let's hope so....I'll be checking. 😉

Found this place on a holiday to a local hotel. The staff are amazing with a smile and lovely warm welcome. Food is fantastic, reasonable, hot and well served. I was so impressed I returned two nights on the trot for evening meal. On the last visit I asked for manager and told him what an amazing well ran and warm and friendly pub he was running. Friendly staff very hot on cleniness and making sure we all registered our details. The menu wasn't as varied as before but saying that there is still plenty of choice. We waited a little longer for our meal but understanding the restrictions it was worth the wait, every ones meal was hot and fresh, this pub is across town for me but it was worth the traveling, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Always been a good pub before lockdown - and they're handling it well. Opened with a decent capacity without pushing it. Menu is limited as they cut down on options to save waste, but manage to get a good variety in. Most meals are mostly a decent price for portion, but a few here and there are not worth the money (chicken waffle and bacon popcorn starter come to mind). Food has always been good, and the staff are all friendly - manager is highly visible and works alongside the staff often, which helps establish the good atmosphere. Highly recommended

Very relaxing environment. It's the only place my granson who is autistic will eat and loves to play in the park area that is so close he can do so independent. The food is delicious and the staff very helpful and attentive. I also find other customers friendly and understanding towards my granson with there own children as he can be alitle full on as he has no understanding of personal space.

The food was good and service was polite and quick, although it was a quiet Saturday afternoon. The menus were filthy and stuck together. A sauce bottle was stuck to its holding box. They only needed wiping and drying. The toilet seat I used was barely attached. The hot running water was the perfect temperature with soap available. Seating comfy. "Small" quibbles but they all add up. Additional....nice little corner, inside, for children and climbing frame and seating outside

What an absolute delight this place is! Took the family for our annual Hogmanay feast and it was a slap up meal I'll tell you! The drinks and service here are great and the beer is ice cold! Only fault I found was there was an acrylic nail in my mash potato but it didn't take anything away from the creamy taste. Great vinyl flooring

We visited Penny Farthing with friends so there were four adults and four children with ages ranging from 10 down to 2 years old, for a Sunday lunch. This was at the beginning of September, so it was still quite warm, so we opted to sit outside so the kids could play on the playground. The menu was great with plenty of choice for all the kids and one of our party is a vegetarian. The food did take quite a long time to come out, which was disappointing and when it arrived, some of the meals looked a little less appetizing than we had hoped. However, for the most part, the meals were very tasty. The member of our party who was vegetarian had opted for the cauliflower tacos as her first choice was out of stock...when her dish arrived, it was basically cauliflower which had been deep fried and then put in a taco.... By the time it came around to looking at deserts (due to the length of time it took for the dinners to come out) we had been at the restaurant for over two and a half hours and it was starting to get cold, so we all went inside. We managed to find a table for all eight of us and there was a small play area suitable for the younger kids as well as a good choice of board games for the older ones. The deserts were fantastic. The staff were all helpful and friendly although the restaurant, by the time we were ready to leave, did look rather messy and grubby as they didnt seem to have enough time to clear tables. Pricewise, the menu was very reasonable so no complaints there. The only downside was that the lady who had the deep fried cauliflower was poorly when she got home.....We do not believe it was food poisoning or anything sinister like that, however....more likely the large amount of fat covering the cauliflower which she was not used to eating. All in all, though, if you're looking for a reasonably priced meal for a family and you have a little time to spare, it would be worth checking The Penny Farthing out 👍🏻

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, warm welcome, no nonsense, quick and easy service. However you may want to book / reserve a table if you are visiting in a group during busy periods. My last visit I just went around noon with my youngest son. He had a Sunday lunch too well some of it anyway , then after he visited the pay area with coloured lights and a table game with he enjoyed sliding round the floor. There’s also a children’s play park just opposite so that’s even a bigger reason to visit the pub

Good pub, location and staff. The pub is well presented and clean. Staff were friendly. There is a car park, though spaces are limited. I went here for a lunchtime meal with a friend. There is a wide range of food and drinks, both at a reasonable price. When making the order we met by friendly staff. Service was quick with a short wait for our food order. If in the area, it is worth popping in.

There was a pot of coleslaw on my plate which I asked if it was vegan, I was told no then the waitress said let me go check your sandwich is vegan...turns out it wasn't! I then had another 20 minutes to wait for a replacement at which point my daughter had finished her meal. I wasn't offered an a ploy or courtesy drink. I chose to visit this pub as it has vegan options but left disappointed, some side salad would have been nice and the food was poorly presented. Not sure I'd go back or recommend it...

Generally this is one of the better eatery's in Coventry however my latest visit was certainly not up to standard. Food took a long while to come and when it did bits were missing and wrong. It was a bit of a complex order however the lady working the til didn't even know how to work it. The order I would class as complex but all within the boundaries of the menu, don't offer multiple options to change and vary a meal if your staff don't have the training to put this information into the POS system. Food was above average but nothing to shout about. Burgers were black and overcooked but apparently that's how they cook them.

Earlier today, myself and a (Support Assistant) colleague of mine, visited 'The 'Penny Farthing' (As we do on a regular basis) along with a group of 'Service Users' who have varied physical and mental disabilities. As per usual we were greeted with incredible warmth and understanding by the staff on duty, before ordering the usual meals, drinks and deserts for those in our care. Unfortunately, on this particular occasion, steak pies were missing from the menu. This caused one of our 'Service users' to slip into a state of anxiety. His condition is a complex one, which means that even the slightest deviation from his meal time routine, can totally alter his mindset, (Especially when he is away from the 'Comfort Zone' of his usual surroundings.) The staff were quick to come to the aid of myself, my colleague and our increasingly distressed friend. In no time at all, they went above and beyond the call of duty, to purchase a meat pie from a local chip shop, before plating it up to us totally free of charge. Our concerned 'Service User' was soon tucking into his desired food as if nothing had ever happened. In conclusion, my colleague and I were gobsmacked by the kindness shown by the staff at 'The Penny Farthing' and will never be able to thank them enough. Take from that true story whatever you will, but it's a 5 stars PLUS rating from us!

Bad 1st impressions. Walked in and greeted with sit anywhere. After trying to find a table another staff member pointed us to a table. Selection of food was really good, went to the bar to order and all was good. Prices seem reasonable. Waited 15min for starters which was really nice, had the Hi10s bbq chicken. A further 60min later the mains come out. The main meal was correct but they forgot the side orders and toppings. After another 5 miniuts some fries come out which were far too greasy to eat but still no topper on my burger. Probaly will not come here again for a burger or a grill. Ill have to try the pizza next time.
