Really friendly staff from when you walk in and the food off the daytime menu we tried was great. Daytime and evening fixed price menu is good value for money as long as there are things on there you like, which tends to be traditional pub fare such as fish and chips. Must admit my nachos as a starter were a welcome surprise being both home cooked and generous! Range of real ales on tap including Purity when we went. Wines look pretty good too. To top it all off it's got a really nice ambience and it's dog friendly, which gives it a bit of a country pub vibe. Glad I went back after several years away.

Myself and my husband visited today for our first time and we had a lovely experience here. The staff were very helpful and were very responsive to our requests which is great customer service! My best friend and I visited the Burnt Post last Friday for a long overdue catchup. I had haddock and chips followed by treacle pudding with custard. The food was absolutely fantastic and arrived very quickly - a perfectly cooked fish and wonderful treacle pud. Big thumbs up to the Kitchen Staff. The Bar Staff and Waitresses were all so friendly and really helpful. Would definitely recommend. A lovely evening was spent in a cosy pub.

Went for three course Sunday roast with six friends (and a baby) recently. Would definitely recommend it! For the money, especially these days, it was a real treat! There were loads of staff around and all friendly. Place had a good vibe and was good for children and dogs too.

I’ve been to the Burnt Post on multiple occasions and one of the main reasons for this is the consistency and quality of there food and drink. The beer is always good and the food is the same with anything off the grill being favourite for me but the wife also dips into the fish and salads offer and has never been disappointed.

My Mum had booked a table they gave to someone else before we arrived. I ordered a vegetarian meal and was given the meat equivalent. The chef did rectify very quickly. Overall our experience was good.

Turned up there with a group of friends Last Friday afternoon. Many in the group including myself can only have Gluten free drinks. We asked at the bar what choice of Gluten free bees they have and the girl behind the bar after having a look at the fridge, said sorry none and then stated they don’t do that anymore! Now I could understand her answer it if was 1992, but even A Wetherspoons has a Gluten free beer options now days . Well the conclusion was we all left and under went to a Wetherspoon's pup near by., where we all had a very pleasant drink and got served a lot quicker I might add .

Took our Grandchildren for breakfast with Santa on 10/12/22. The food was first class, Grandchildren had a great time making Christmas cards for Mummy and Daddy. Then a visit to Santa's Grotto. Thank you very much for providing the buffet refreshments on Monday 17th October following my sister's funeral. A lot of guests were comfortably accomodated and provided with the chosen menu in an unobtrusive but efficient and respectful way. The food was enjoyable for meateaters and vegetarians alike. We didn't think to book. It was full but a lovely staff member said we could eat outside. We found the little shed very sheltered and cosy ordered our fish n chips and drink at the bar. Nice pub and I will definitely return with family. Good choice of food on the menu and the lunchtime set meal was good value although the portion was small (wondering if it's because it was the lunchtime option). Anyway, the food was nice, service was good and the decor was very inviting. Decent sized car park too and you can sit outside. You can also order food and I believe also drinks via the app at your table which makes it very easy to pay individually if you're in a group.

We went for a Sunday lunch (2 people) which was really nice. I had the roast pork, really tender which I would recommend, veg all lovely. Only got about 3 roast potatoes which were a little overdone and a tiny portion of gravy. We ordered an extra portion of gravy which didnt arrive so I had to chase the waitress (found at the bar chatting with 2 other waitresses/bar staff). We also ordered sides of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. Both were nice but INCREDIBLY tiny portions but nice. If the staff were a bit more attentive and the sides which you pay extra for were bigger it would be even better.

Convivial atmosphere and delicious risotto. However, the 40% off mains voucher I had was refused. When I read the email, it looked like it was a general voucher from Ember Inns offering 40% off. Great we thought! Lets use it. However, the till didn't recognise it and eventually, the manager pointed out that the Britannia Inn in Oxfordshire was the only place it could be used. We had eaten there on holiday but it wasn't clear that the voucher was specific to that pub rather than one which could be used at any Ember Inn like the ones I'd previously received. I wasn't best pleased and certainly wasn't driving 50-odd miles back down there to save about £8. Had I realised its limited use, I'd have gone to another Inn group with their voucher. Please make vouchers obviously clear that they have limited use if restricted to a specific outlet.

It seemed like a nice, well spaced pub when I first entered but the service was horribly slow. We must have waited at least 45 minutes before the food got to us. However, I had the Sunday roast that made it worth the wait. Although, towards the end of my meal, I was just finishing off the vegetables and they weren't terribly good. The greens and carrots were both mushy and the parsnips were so overdone, it hurt to bite into them. I picked the Belgian grilled waffles for a desert and they were delicious so it countered the bad vegetables.

Nice refurbishment creating a good cozy pub feel. Very tasty food at reasonable prices. Lots of special offer days where you can get selected bottles of wine for £10, and specials on beers e.g. Cask Ales at £2.79. All in all good place for a meal and drinks including plenty of outdoor space to sit.

This is a local pub to us. We stopped going prior to Covid due to the service and food being dreadful with lots of unavailable things on the menu. Since the re-opening, the pub has ha a great facelift, the manager and staff have changed and the food is really good now. We are back to being regulars!

Quickly posted a rating, but now I've got time to write a review. This pub is my new local, and I'm pretty pleased with that! Visited on the Bank Holiday (the nice sunny one in April, not the rainy one in May) and sat outside in the little beer garden. Saw lots of different groups of people who all seemed to be getting along well, and the bar staff were all friendly! And I got a nice little reply when I originally posted the rating, so very happy!

Went for lunch and ordered thick cut ham, egg and chips. When it arrived it was two slices if thin processed ham. Complained and staff stated that they understood but had been told to put this out. Offered me another meal. I chose a chicken pasta dish which was lovely. Apart from this staff were very understanding and friendly, nice atmosphere but can get cold due to gaps where the lighting is and cold air is blowing down on you.

Very busy on Saturday night with waiting time for food around 40 mins. There was a group reservation with an area of the pub sectioned off for the evening. I'm sure this affected the service. Generally reasonable service. Standard pub grub..nothing above the average. Bar staff worked hard to keep the bar from building up.

Called in for a drink the Monday evening after pubs were allowed to reopen. The new Management have done a great job of sprucing the pub up during lockdown. Tables were well spaced out & sofas had been removed. Social distancing was being well managed & the atmosphere was relaxed and stress free. The new landlords were friendly and welcoming. Found this pub tucked just off the main A45 when passing through Coventry and needed a break. Nice choice of meals on the menu, big car park, Some good deals and great service. Food was hot and as expected, no issues and was general chain pub pricing for what i would say was higher quality than ive found at most other places.

First time at the Burnt Post ... I was impressed by the range of excellent beers, and their extensive, interesting menu. I needed only a burger, but it was excellent and not at all expensive. The interior of the pub is comfortable and tasteful. I rarely visit pubs, in truth, but I shall go back to the Burnt Post to try one of their very interesting menu items.

Beautiful building, I wish that I owned this pub...... But sadly, over the last 10 years or so it's been run and managed by a variety of people who don't seem to care. There's very much a take it or leave it attitude to the customers. If your favourite beer is off, it's OK, just choose another one, I haven't got all day, sort of attitude......

Nice starter, we had 4 Sunday dinners. All cold the only thing to keep it hot was the gravy. The beef was tough and the chicken was dry. The kids menu was OK, or son liked his mac and cheese. No one came to the table to ask how our food was until after had been as ordered pudding. They did address the issue though and offer a free dessert.

The Burnt Post is well positioned for us as we live around the corner and it easy to park or walk to. The food is good and the chef does a great job. Today we had steak which was delicious, although the lady who took the order made a mistake with cancelling the sides that came with the meal. Sarah sorted the problem without any fuss or bother. Thank you! New staff member Adam was shadowing and seem to be doing a good job. He was polite when he cleared our plates away. There is often an offer if you subscribe to the website which helps keep the costs down. Food did not take long to be served this time. Not much has changed at the Burnt Post over the years; except the exterior that seems to change regularly! Always have a good pint of real ale from a fairly wide selection and they do take care of it well. Spacious bar area and generous outside area. Not much to look at outside but worth a visit. Also good hearty pub grub!

Reasonable selection of ales. Food is hit and miss - over the last 18 months we've been given the excuse of "the chef walked out/didn't turn up" twice when the food was crap after a long wait. Other occasions (it's our local, so we've probably given them more chances than I would normally give a place) the food has been average and service average.

Visited here New Years Eve with family to celebrate letting in the New Year. The atmosphere throughout the evening was OK. But I felt the Burnt Post staff could have made an effort to make it feel a little different from any other evening. They didn't even turn the music off or down as we approached midnight. We did our own count down and let off party poppers and asked others to join in with Auld Lang Syne. Other than that 'The Burnt Post /Ember Inns' never made an effort. Just the same as last year in' The open Arm/Ember Inns' Come on make an effort, its only a few years ago balloons, party poppers etc were put out on the tables and the bar closed so that for everyone could celebrate letting the New Year in. It's hard to believe that Coventry is soon to be City of Culture. Go on see if you can make an effort Coventry to show there is some life in the City, instead of this DULL appearance.

A Stivichall classic. Part of Embers Inns chain. Usual fast pub food. If you want fast service and a table, 5pm-6pm mid week is a good bet. Plenty of parking. The entrance on to the dual carriageway of the A45 means you are headed south/east. There is an exit on a side road which allows you to join the A45 heading west towards Brum.
